For Power Warrior, besides Axe/Mace, it’s getting a bit old, is there anything that could really fit with GS ?
That is for fractals/dungeons.

I was thinking of Axe/Axe since they changed axe offhand but I don’t know.

I think the primary reason they did that was to add counterplay. Counterplay is good!

  • Realistically, a player with average ping cannot dodge a 0.25s skill unless they happen to be predicting an attack and basically pre-dodge it.
  • A player can dodge a 0.5s skill if they’re paying attention and watch for it, but this gets harder at close range, as the animations are difficult to see in melee and there’s less distance. I think this is fair for most attacks, but Headbutt is SO powerful (basically, if you land it and they don’t have a stun-break, they are dead to the follow-up combo) that they made it…
  • 0.75s – dodgeable, interruptable. Feels slow if you’re used to 0.5s, but the skill still works.

Ok, but why would you pvp without a stun break in the first place ? If your stun-break is on cooldown, it’s your fault for not using it at the right time or normal… you can’t be perma immune to stuns, otherwise they should just delete all of those stun skills.

In my opinion one of the core issues with combat is that there is too many effects and you can’t see clearly what’s happening, sometimes it just feels like you’re being hit by invisible random things.
Too many flashy effects if you ask me.

Current state of revenant?

Scar.1793

Don’t base your opinion on other subjectives players’ ones….
Revenant & especially Herald is a GREAT support class which offers tons of boons Buffer / Damage dealer with decent damage output

Not sure if trolling at this point. All the boons can be covered much better by other classes that can do better DPS and have better utilities for the group. Fury ? Druid with tiger. Power stack ? PS warriors do that so much better. And so on.

The damage isn’t that great either, especially on staff, there’s nothing crazy about it.

If you plan on camping world maps and low level content, then yea sure it’s ok, but like any other class you can play pretty much anything and be fine.
Now, start fractals and raids. You’ll quickly understand the problem of having such weak and buggy class.

Sword design is silly

in Revenant

Scar.1793

There is also the problem that in order to do good DPS with sword you just press auto-attack. Making the revenant the most boring class in any game I’ve played. Yes, you can use Precise Strike once in a while but only if you are in a good position and if there aren’t any targets anywhere but in front of you so all 3 bolts hit the same target.

This is just a stupid design, auto-attack and anything else is dps loss/almost useless. Only the block on off-hand sword can be good but even with that, it’s not much. Same for off-hand sword for warriors. Unrelenting Assault was so good before, it was strong yes, but it needed to be against a lone single target or the damage would be splitted too much to be efficient. Because of PvP they nerfed this skill to oblivion, instead of separating the effects in both game modes. Now, it’s mostly used for the evade and that’s it, not much use for it. Until they fix the “auto-attack is better” design, I’ll just play some other games that are more fun and have better gameplay than that.

However when you look at how dead the revenant forum is, just as the class, I feel it’s just hopeless. Maybe in 5 years, since we get about 3-4 real balance updates in a year.

Correction: Since rev is the strongest class in the game right now, we’ll bring it down a bit to still be really strong, but not too dominant*

Oh yeah, the “slightly” line: 50% and 33% nerf to the 2 main attacks of the Rev is “slightly” and “down a bit”.

It’s funny looking back at the May 2016 nerf to SOTM of 15%. People were saying that ANET did the right thing by being conservative so as not to kill class viability. Then 6 months later they come down with a radical downgrade that looks like it will threaten class viability. 50% downgrade after a 15% downgrade means about at 43-44% downgrade in damage overall. Almost half. So much for taking things slow eh?

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Surge-of-the-Mists-Nerfed-YES

I will not be playing my Rev in pvp.

It’s about 10-15% nerf to rev overall, who had insanely high damage in the first place. Rev will still be meta and one of the strongest classes (I believe mes is not the strongest) and then rev) Just the shiro port alone will make it essential.

If every other class has a value of 15k and rev has a value of 20k (which is p much the case) and then rev gets nerfed 15%, let’s say 20% just to be generous. Ppl will QQ about the 20% even tho you’re still at 16k and 1k above the other classes. Look at the results instead of looking at only the changing number to have an excuse to cry.

Funny how you prowl all across the rev forums claiming rev is the godsend of classes, yet never specifically explain why, or even bother to acknowledge the glaring issues with the class, but instead just say ‘High damage, and teamfights’, completely ignoring that rev’s damage falls quicker than a stone in teamfights, and most of its viable support comes from the lazy design of boon bot Glint, which no one wants in the first place.

Shiro’s port is trash compared to other options. Lousy tracking with terrain, consumes energy if failed, requires a target in the first place, obvious animation, requiring shiro and locking you into other utilities you may not need, along with his trash heal.

I don’t argue, I inform you Now you can either be a good boy and listen or you can continue crying about how “rev sux omg” as solace for being terrible. You clearly have no idea about rev, evident by everything you’ve said about it.

If you could read, then you’d realize I never mentioned the recent changes or said anything suggesting rev as a whole was bad, but that’s asking too much.

Looking for a second ban, are we?

“rev’s damage falls quicker than a stone in teamfights, and most of its viable support comes from the lazy design of boon bot Glint, which no one wants in the first place.”

“Shiro’s port is trash compared to other options. Lousy tracking with terrain, consumes energy if failed, requires a target in the first place, obvious animation, requiring shiro and locking you into other utilities you may not need, along with his trash heal. "
from ur most recent post alone

Nooo, please don’t ban me, and please don’t hack me and please don’t kitten my mom ;;;;;;;

Wow, you’re either a kid or have a problem with being able to communicate with people without looking dumb (or being one?).

Pointing out issues about a class doesn’t mean it’s bad overall, thankfully it still has some uses, but compared to others it’s not very good at all.

A while ago nerf AA, so that we supposedly do not use as much AA but suddenly it is the only thing we have left, exposing ourselves doing damage with AA and we are getting all the builds conditions.
Powerful weapon change? A stroke of 1k + equilibrium you can only use it once, in which you have more than 50% of this, not when you want) so I do not think it is powerful or feared. Also now the staff only serves for cc and nothing else (maybe 4 to clean, and is too slow).

I think developers do not even try their classes, they just look at their numbers mathematically and decide what to do …

I feel that I needed a light nerf 10/20% might be enough but this is a massacre to the unfinished class.

I believe you are right, and I feel it is also true for Daredevils’ staff/Warriors’ mainhand axe.

I mean which game designer could think that making auto-attack the most effective way to DPS and making every other skill slow/weak/doing the same damage as a single AA (sometimes even less !) a good idea?
Even some time after the first nerfs of the Revenant, the gameplay was still good and interesting. Now, it’s actually quite boring and feels very repetitive and not really rewarding.

It’s really the first time in a MMO that I’ve seen players telling me to mainly use AA because the rest is too situational or too weak. I’m talking about PvE where you do need DPS because ennemies have much higher health pools compared to PvP/WvW.

Just some developpers replies should give you a decent idea of what’s good balance to them. One of them mentionned that spamming 1 is good enough DPS along with Glint skills like Element Blast etc.

And yea, it was a serious answer. lol, so basically their mindset for great gameplay is forced Glint spec, spam 1 and be quiet. Others skills are just there for show.

I don’t know about you guys but I had a lot of fun a year ago when I could use Unrelenting Assault and other skills and still not having a DPS loss because I wasn’t a stupid robot pressing 1 all day all night. I don’t want to be rude, but it appears they don’t have a clue on how to makes things feel great and not too overpowered. If something is too strong in PvP or you hear too many complains from PvP Players just nerf in PvP mode, not every mode. It’s just common sense.
HoT dlc (not really much of an expac tbh) came out one year ago… there are still the same bugs for Revenant and they will still be there. Meanwhile, eat the nerf bat.

I really miss the days of Guild Wars 1, I don’t think it was the same developpers back then but these guys used to know what they were doing and made a great game with so many build possibilities. Now look at us in 2016… feels like a bad joke lol

Is there anything left to nerf in this class

in Revenant

Scar.1793

What this class do now other then auto-attacking….

Very good cc, good damage, very good presence in team fight, buff teammates, very good mobility, still good at 1v1

Damage isn’t that amazing now after all the nerfs sword received. CC isn’t that good either (very good you say?), try Warrior and see how easy and accessible CC is.

The buffs can be given by other classes that also bring more, just to give you an example a warrior bring might easily, actually good DPS and Banners.
I believe you just play PvP, in PvP sure it might be half decent. In PvE, the rotation and everything the class can bring are simply awful. Almost everything relies on auto-attack because besides Precise Strike (only if target is alone) your dps will suck.

Hell even Unrelenting Assault does the damage of 3 auto-attacks while it used to be more interesting and powerful before even after some nerfs. Now it’s just a bad joke.
There are reasons why you don’t see many revenants now and why it is not very much wanted in PvE groups.

Honestly it wouldn’t be difficult to implement since you can almost do that in preview mode. Sure the light/medium/heavy parts can’t be mixed but I’d kill to wear some light armors, they are just so much more stylish and better with many various themes.

A simple way to toggle which kind of armor type you want would be great and give more choices (which is something that is lacking).

There have always been skills that perform more for PvE or PvP respectively this is on all classes not just Revenant, your gripes with OH sword sounds like you don’t understand the importance of Cc style skills, and so on being able to combo with the weapons and skills it one of the better designs of Rev, allowing you to utilize them in different ways for more depth to gameplay

Oh I know the utility of CC skills, especially in PvE. Been doing that with mace/shield and headbutt on my warrior. It’s not rocket science but Grasping Shadows is just pointless in PvE most of the time, since you either move a mob that is already focused by the team or the pull doesn’t work (mob is immune) and your character still shadowstep backwards : meaning a DPS loss. This has always been an issue when people started to play Revenant in PvE.

Your unrelenting assault issue seems to ignore the fact that it provides great protection on top of decent damage as well as buffing you all at the same time, it can stick to any opponent once it lands through Mesmer portals/shadowsteps you name it. It is a highly versatile skill. They do need to fix how it interacts with environmental items mainly in wvw and pvp it plus Precision strike seem to prioritize environment items like boxes and supply depots and Sentry posts over players…

Yes they should reevaluate the Skills in PvE but they aren’t broken or underpowered they are there as an option.

UA is just not good, by the time you do one, you get some auto-attacks done and more damage easily, it’s even more clear with boons. The might buff has always been decent, but in a PvE setting, if you have a PS warrior with you it’s not useful. I think you see it more as a PvP skill : a game mode that made UA what it is now. Skills shouldn’t be used only for one aspect of the game, it should be used in both PvP and PvE, hence why they need to separate the changes they do, because they will create more unbalance that way.
I don’t know much about GW2 PvP, since I find PvP in MMOs always lacking. But in PvE you do the legends rotation and with the weapon skills it’s just auto-attack and precision strike if the target is solo. Not sure if you had the chance to play Revenant at the beginning, but it used to be so much more dynamic before, even after the first nerfs to Unrelenting Assault. What bothers me is that they nerfed it into oblivion.
When auto-attack is more useful than all the other skills in terms of damage, I believe there’s a problem and it’s the first MMO where I see that an auto-attack is 90% of the time better. It simply doesn’t feel right or rewarding.

You know, back in Guild Wars 1, a lot of people used to take the time to see the cutscenes if they never saw it. In a Story dungeon, many new players simply skip it as soon as they’re able to. Just that should give you an idea.

To be honest, the first personnal story missions that are linked to your race were and still are the best ones. Because you make decisions, and different outcomes are present even if limited because it’s just a MMORPG. Once you leave with your new faction Order of Whispers/Vigils/Priory, the quality of the story or at least my interest in it seems to get lower and lower.
Hell even in the last mission of HoT I just laughed at a poor sylvari who was supposed to be a close character to ours. Meanwhile, I’m still quite sad about Rurik death from Prophecies.

It’s not that the story is bad, but it lacks some “oompf”, everything feels very predictable and cliche.

Sword skills need some improvements

Scar.1793

Hi everyone, I’ve played Guild Wars 2 since betas and wanted to share my view of the Revenant sword skills (main and offhand) and point out what I feel is wrong with each skill and the gameplay in general. I know some things have already been said, but I wanted to write something since I didn’t see many threads about it recently. So I think it’s worth a try.

Auto-Attack :

The damage is ok but it should never be our main DPS tool, it’s the same problem with Daredevils and staff. Making an auto-attack doing more damage than active skills is not only boring, it’s in my opinion an obvious design issue with the weapon.

Precision Strike :

Damage is fine, but I wish it could cleave or something, unrelenting assault already has the same problem (if more than one target, it’s pointless to use it), so why add more skills with the same drawback ? This only pushes the player to use auto-attack only.

Unrelenting Assault :

When the Revenant was finally released in Guild Wars 2, I was so happy to use a pure melee class that could dual wield swords and use them in a power build instead of being forced to condition spec with a warrior.
Problem is, this skill itself is a proof that ArenaNet should think about going back to some ideas from Guild Wars 1 in terms of skill design : separate PvE from PvP.

In PvE the skill was fine without being as strong as Hundred Blades. And had the drawback of being useful only against a lone single target (no cleave). Damage was great but a warrior and other classes could do more with decent gear.
Meanwhile in PvP it was very powerful, due to the invulnerability and duration of the attack.
And now, because of some PvP complains, which were totally understandable. Unrelenting Assault got nerfed so much that there is no point in using it. Despite the skill having one of the coolest animation. It just feels so weak and underwhelming now. Auto-attack should never be the only way to play and get the best DPS, it makes the gameplay so boring and even using one weapon skill from time to time (Precision Strike if there’s one target around only) is just sad. The nerfs were to much in my opinion.

Duelist Preparation/Shackling Wave :

In my view, Duelist Prep is good, however I just don’t get the point of Shackling Wave. The damage is weak and the immobility is extremely short, never really saw the use of it.

Grasping Shadow :

I really never understood the point of this skill in a PvE setting. Even in PvP, the distance from where you pull the ennemy is quite short and doesn’t really bring something really useful to the table compared to other weapons such as Axe.
It should just be a simple pull in my opinion, and get rid of the backward Shadowstep. This skill is even less useful now that Unrelenting Assault has some weak damage.
__________________________________________________________________

I hope this doesn’t come off as mindless complain, but I’m just so sad to see the Revenant’s sword skills in this state. I hope ArenaNet will at least make a few changes so that auto-attack won’t be the best way to DPS outside of Shiro/Impossible Odds.

Cosmetic Concerns

I dont understand why people think “but it’s more work” is an excuse for anet to not do something they are definitely capable of.

Same, especially when you think about Guild Wars 1 which had a lot of new armor sets and weapons added in each expansion. And these could be mixed and matches with old armor pieces and I never saw any graphic issue with them as far as I can remember. This felt satisfying because you could customize your character with so many options.

What did we get with HoT ? 1 new set, extremely few pieces that you can count on one hand, and very few new weapons here and there to say they did work on something for HoT (some items added months after the “expac” released…)

Gw1 only had one race, human, to make armor for not 5. It is having to make armor for 5 races and 2 sexes that takes more time and money than armor that only has to fit 1 race and male/female.

In addition, the combat animations were less complex in that game as you couldn’t move and attack at the same time so armor didn’t need to be made with that in mind.

So? Every MMO that comes to mind have various races and animations, yet in every (real) expac players get brand new armors and weapons.
I just can’t see the excuse behind the “oh but it’s hard to do” besides greed and laziness. But I’m not really surprised to be honest.

We don’t know what they are working against. With WoW armor, as I understand it, most parts are “painted” onto the body. They aren’t 3D. It’s possible that many games also use simpler methods like this and ANet chose a more complex system (such as having different wire meshes for the different weights) and now this decision made years ago is having consequences they didn’t consider, such as the wardrobe expanding the desire for more armors.

As to "I just can’t see the excuse behind the “oh but it’s hard to do” besides greed and laziness." Well, that’s just knee jerk, unthinking criticism. It’s the standard thing some people say when they accuse the devs of laziness and greed instead of considering that maybe there’s more going on than they know about. As Josh Foreman said

(Snip) 2. Don’t assume the reason that things are the way they are due to developer incompetence, laziness, apathy, stubbornness, greed, selfishness, lust or any of the other deadly sins. There are other possibilities beside developer personal defects. (Snip)

I wasn’t even thinking of WoW since they have a much bigger team. So I’ll just give the example of Age of Conan, which had a smaller team and of course way less income than Guild Wars 2. Yet with their unique expac, added many weapons and armors, and those weren’t just skin textures. And for the record, Legion expac added quite some new meshes in the game instead of simple meshes retextures. From gloves, boots to belts which were mostly retextured meshes.

It’s not just mindless critism or trying to be a jerk as you name it, it’s just what I’ve noticed over the years and yea, it’s not always pretty.
Do you even remember all the promises about HoT and all the new raids and legendary weapons that were supposed to come out ? Yup, nothing at release, and then legends were cancelled because it took too much time and they had to fix the mess that was HoT at release. It’s better now, but the core issues are still there.

They’re just starting again with the legends sure, but at an extremely slow pace, and long long after release. I don’t blame anyone in particular, but I’m still having a hard time seeing that so few sets and weapons were made with HoT.

Say whatever you want but if smaller teams could do it with lower incomes, I don’t understand why Anet couldn’t, even if it was only available in the cashshop.
Guild Wars 2 is still one of the top MMO in the Western market.

Top DPS rifle rotation?

in Warrior

Posted by: Scar.1793

Scar.1793

I know this doesn’t answer your main question, but at least in PvE longbow is the superior ranged weapon even for power builds. You get decent sustained damage with autoattack and have access to fire fields and a blast to stack might. If you put a sigil of strength in it, then your primal burst is good for stacking might.

I’m guessing the best rotation for power longbow is the same as for condi, so you can look that up if you want. Unfortunately since I always use that for ranged I haven’t looked into how to optimize dps for rifle. Wish I could be more help.

This is an outdated statement. Especially now with the Berserker Elite spec, it’s even more obvious which weapon is more suited for power build.
If you don’t believe me, just use a warrior full zerk, and compare the damage while in zerk mode (and outside of it) on a Golem. Rifle is simply better. Longbow 3 is weak compared to Rifle 3, the only good thing might be the auto attack, but rifle auto is faster and you can actually make use of the Burst skill, even more powerful and faster to get adrenaline while in berserker mode.

Longbow used to be more attractive before because it had more utility and decent damage, but right now, compared to what rifle was, it’s a viable weapon and much more suited if you’re using pure power build.

No, offhand cds are 15sec, not only that, but Frigid Blitz isn’t a dps boost, in fact it’s a dps loss unless you’re at range and are trying to get back to the target.
At first I wanted to use it because everyone said it’s better, but I’d rather stick with sword offhand for the block while in movement. Seems much more useful because we already have a gap closer with shiro’s stance.

Sword off hand = Guardian shield before buff. no one takes it because all the other off hand offers more and better stuff.

lol, it’s nowhere near as bad as Guardian shield was. People seem to be forgetting that, unlike shield, you can use OH sword with any build, and it does not require the use of Herald, which will be competing with future e-specs. The only problem it really has is that the pull should be a teleport from 600 range, which then pulls the target as you teleport back to your original position.

Even with that change it would be useless : you can’t pull many ennemies in PvE, especially with raids now even though I haven’t tried them but obviously some mobs will be immune

Hey,
Like some people said in very few topics, the sword offhand is quite underwhelming : long cds, and more precisely the skills feel way too much situationnal. Once again, axe get the best dps oriented skill (as if it wasn’t enough with the other classes).

In PvE sword offhand is quite useless, I barely used it in all my fights and dungeons. You could say that at least the block is decent but.. well not that much in my opinion, if you want some defense you just get a shield. The pull is quite unreliable and often doesn’t work against ennemies in dungeons. I haven’t tried in raids but I bet it’s even more helpless in that case.
More or less same thing in PvP, the block can be decent but the immob is unreliable and very short too (both in range & duration). I can see some uses for the pull, but again, very situationnal. While axe gets a decent gap closer throw+shadowstep+melee hit.

Anyway, I was wondering if anything as been officially said about the sword offhand, I haven’t read anything about it. I would be really sad if it stays that way, a PvP-only/useless weapon.

I still don’t understand that despite saying I’m talking about PvE and not PvP people still find a way to talk about it. Anyways..

It does 20k+ damage on a fully buffed meta group. 25 vuln stacks, banner PSEA warrior present.

Single target of course, the attack becomes much weaker if there are other mobs around.

Ah, well with that kind of setup, anything with zerk gear can do decent damage for sure.

That’s the thing, it shouldn’t do 100B damage, since that skill selfroots while Unrelenting Assault tracks and evades for the whole cast time.

I’m not saying it SHOULD do the same damage, just that it needs a little bit more damage, the guy I quoted talked about 20k+ damage, I was just saying from my testing POV it’s clearly not near that.

Otherwise it does around 20k+ damage on a full berserker revenant while giving you evade frames.

I’m not really sure it does this much damage, unless maybe, maybe with 25 stacks, fury and full crit. Otherwise I don’t see it do as much damage like a Hundred Blade. Only way for it to be that good imo is to either use Burst of Strength (from the Facet of Strength) for an instant +20% damage or use enchanted daggers.
It’s not a bad skill, just lacking a bit of damage in my opinion.

Sure I can’t test with my ascended gear on my war because the bank is not updated, but still in exotic gear it’s not that much different either. I don’t think it would get that high in a single UA.

Some of you didn’t read the OP, I was talking about PvE not PvP.
And yea, I know why the damage was low, I was using the celestial gear instead of zerk. ><

Still I think Unrelenting Assault would be way more reliable if it was single target or at least focus on a target while dealing some to nearby ennemies.

Hey,

I’ve tested Revenant twice, but always felt something was lacking. Just like the previous Beta week-end, I still find Unrelenting Assault to be quite weak, even after a 30% damage increase.

To me the issue is the fact that it wants to be some kind of AoE attack, but thing is, it’s not even good at it, not at all. And even on a single target, it doesn’t do much damage.
Sure you get an evade, but look at pistol whip for example, it’s less flashy but does decent damage (AoE and on a single target) why not Unrelenting Assault ? Just because it gives 7 Might Stacks? Hell, Might Stacks are easy to get, especially in PvE.

Right now, I feel sword is more about auto-attacking in PvE, just like Warrior’s axe, which is honestly very boring. Sword offhand doesn’t feel helpful either in a PvE scenario, and people are already starting to use offhand Axe to replace it because it’s more useful. Kinda sad since Swords were supposed to be burst-DPS weapons.

I do think giving Unrelenting Assault decent damage would make the gameplay more entertainning, using mainly auto-attacks to DPS.. it shouldn’t be that way unless you want to be bored.

Just my opinion ^^

Yea from the video it looked very weak, both in damage and utility.

I don’t know if it’s because it wasn’t full berserker or something but even Sword’s 3 felt very weak for 10 sec cooldown too. It looks like it does less damage than auto-attack. I thought it could be like pistol-whip damage or something.
I really hope it won’t turn out to be another spam 1 then wait till target is dead, it’s really boring.

Oh sorry about that, and no I didn’t know nor do I really care. Like most people we come for daily/loot and that’s it. Just like dungeons cutscenes.

Yes, so it’s just the right thing to do to attack people who do care. Foor for thought.

Actually what made me “agressive” was the old wow/gw comparison (started since gw1), it’s like comparing apples and oranges, both are fruits but not the same taste. Just like they’re mmos but not the same target audience.

Norn VA is aela the huntress, anet ruined some lines by adding a stupid sound effect to it.
Dunno the female VA but it sounds like a school girl, too annoying for me " retreeeeat" shout makes me want to murder them everytime I hear it.

Norns aren’t body builders they just got 2 types of textures for each body :
A less muscles textures
Loads of muscles textures.

And yea their bodyshape is more feminine to me. Fitness style lol better than some hungry and skinny human. Even the norn faces are way less “manga style”… Clear winner imo.

Please fanboy stop comparing these 2 games, they are very different and not for the same audience.

I’ve been quitting gw2 many times for break because I was bored, you say you never quit, yet you don’t even know that Jormag is a worldboss event and is dead…? After 3 years.

Thief needs rifle, not melee staff

Your love for getting a rifle clouds your reason.

Thief already have dual pistols. What difference would rifle make? More powerful so Thief end up with another useless weapon set ?

Staff is more than fine, and no I don’t play thief anymore.

Every week 3 of this thread pops up. God forbid people use a wonderfull thing called “search this forum” that’s just too much effort.

Funny, you obviously never used the search bar yourself, it doesn’t work well since day 1.
No wonder why nobody use it.

Crafted ascended armor PvE or WvW?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Scar.1793

Scar.1793

I was starting to play WvW a bit, before the patch (I was farming dungeons for gold until now).
I have 2 exotic sets : one for WvW and one for PvE. I wonder if my gear would be best if I use it for WvW, since in PvE, the difference doesn’t make that much of a difference if you’re in a decent group.
In WvW decent group or not, it could still be of some help. At least that’s how I see it.

What do you guys think? Should I keep the gear for PvE or WvW?

Hello,

Since a long time, I thought of giving WvW another shot because every single time I went there it was always a zerg fest with bus vs bus. Which in my opinion I find very uninteresting.

I looked at metabattle and saw an interesting combination of GS and Hammer. Seeing how I almost never had the chance to really use the Hammer in PvE, I was wondering why people would take the Hammer over Maces, if it’s for the CC maces can do it with lower cooldowns if I remember.
Also what’s the synergy between Hammer and GS besides trying to stun/knockdown and land a few HB hits ?

By the way, I mostly do PvE and sometimes sPvP so I don’t know really much about WvW even if I play since betas lol.

lol found a group yesterday, and they were quite bad, I had to carry them till we got to the boss, left him with less 1/4 hp and when I switched (I told them I’ll do it at the very beginning) they couldn’t finish him off and all died. Then one of them votekicked me and the others followed. LOL that crap can be even done solo. Some people are really dumb.

Anyway thanks for the replies, got me faster levels that way. I like the game, but the leveling is really boring. I’d say I even prefer WoW or any traditionnal MMO quest lines model.

Does it still work? I want to level up my char to level 58 and use all my tomes of knowledge, I really can’t stand the old heart/events grinds for low levels.

My char is level 25 and I brought him to the CoF map. Can it work?

For a more direct answer, don’t make anything untill we see the whole package and more importantly all weapons. Sword/Sword is starting to shape up quite well.

(And yes, I said Sword/Sword and not Sword/Dagger)

How do you know about dual swords? So far, we’ve seen only sword MH and dagger OH.

I somewhat still dont believe that they giving revenant offhand sword. I mean dagger offhand was unique for a heavy class. Why would they ruin it at this point it is beyond me.

Daggers are boring, and S/D is already a thing on Thief. S/S is pointless in dungeons, and alright in PvP as a warrior. So for a change it would be good if they could anything other than condi weapons. However I still don’t find the skills impressive or really attractive, especially with a class that has no weapon swap. Maybe I’ll stick with my warrior.
