Riding one of the big cats around, riding crop and spurs equipped to keep it in line…
Catnip on a fishing pole should suffice. Just make sure it’s always out of reach…
How will they work? Big kitten steampunk machines? Or what if Charr… are the mounts?
#askingtheimportantquestions
After working in a sales position for several years, I can tell you that this level of entitlement and lack of empathy definitely extends beyond the borders of the internet and online games. It’s to be expected at this point.
@Schewe I actually bet some Anet legal guy did exactly that, I suspect in fact there are people who work for Anet, whose job is getting on to other companies to complain, be it the power company, the software companies that supply the office, the suppliers for the canteen. They will have someone whose job it is to call other companies and demand they do their job, they probably threaten legal action or moving business to another supplier.
It’s how companies work.
I’m very aware of how businesses function, thanks. You really think a legal rep for ArenaNet threatened suit for this event without any prior third party communication, huh? Don’t misconstrue what was clearly an exaggerated scenario.

Imagine the nightmare of being a retail worker or weatherman in this day and age of extreme entitlement.
I’m sure ArenaNet didn’t originally push the release date to tomorrow because they intended to make every effort to drop the content on time or the same day.
It didn’t happen; get over it and go about your day. Do you think the ANet staff started throwing a conniption at and nagging the power company for the outage?
Kudos to those of you who have common sense and don’t freak out about trivial issues such as this.
It definitely could be an oversight and would be nice of them to correct it if so. The Lich outfit originally removed Charr tails altogether, which was fixed in a later patch— so who knows! Sad to say but Charr players aren’t really a top priority for ANet by any means.
I noticed very few traits properly reflect their updated information on Rev/Herald skill facts. That, and Rev tooltips feel somewhat incomplete in general (such as no recharge info on Legend swaps, vague description on Vengeful Hammers, etc).
All in all not a big deal, just my OCD talking! Any idea if ANet plans to address these?
GS Charr rulez!!
Asura are kitten while moving but the Charr walk… \m/_
Charr definitely have lots of fantastic weapon animations. I love everything about all the GS stances!
Human male weapon animations REEEAAALLLY need to be focused on. I think the biggest issue with them currently is that they make it seem as if none of the weapons have any weight behind them.
Greatsword held up in the air over their shoulder while running is just so wonky… imagine how quickly your arms would get tired. You’d probably just lazily throw it at your enemy when it was time to take a swing.
One handed weapons on male humans also really messes with my OCD. I feel most of the warriors who arrive on the battlefield would already have their face covered in cuts or be missing eyes with the way they jog around with swords in their hands.
My nitpicky self could keep going and going… I think a lot of inspiration for better animations could be borrowed from Dark Souls or Dragon’s Dogma.
I demand Charr players are given the ability to trip and kittenslap enemies with their tails before this becomes a thing.
Picture from a reddit thread.
A beautiful Charr is a joy to behold. And with cat ears, even more beautiful.
Totes adorbs.
Six ears is great, but I think we can go deeper.
Anybody else think it would be nice to have an F3 skill that instantly removes all active Facets, and does so without activating their respective sequence skills or putting them on cooldown? Could be called “Nullify” or something similar and have a small cooldown of its own.

A molten jetpack/charr technology-esque jetpack glider would be pretty cool!
Sounds like the release note has big dreams
Ah, managed to find one such thread. Forum search box is perpetually broke for me.
Curious, anybody else think it’d be nice to be able to set an optional “profession cap” when creating a LFG listing for dungeons, open world, etc?
For example— a checkbox which, when ticked, prevents a Warrior from joining the LFG if there is already a Warrior in the party, or Guardian, Engineer, etc. OR the ability to set a maximum of each profession allowed.
Having the same problem. Achievement done, title unlocked, used the generous gift; no tree in any home instance.
This is a topic that I’m sure has been touched on multiple times here but it’s been bugging me trying to figure out what exactly PvE needs. Don’t get me wrong, I love GW2 and am still logging a lot of time into the game. It’s just that the whole PvE environment feels… soulless.
Each area feels like a blank canvas to be painted and tossed aside. There is no drive to visit distant towns or areas as you already know what to expect— some tasks, some vendors that sell the same items you can buy where you already are, and a vista or two to view.
It’s very unfortunate that PvE feels this way as a lot of the world’s scenery is absolutely gorgeous and would be overlooked in the monotonous exp grind.
I think PvE needs to feel less like it was designed specifically for your character to conquer and more like a traditional MMORPG world, but I just can’t put my finger on what exact changes could be made.
I’ve noticed that ArenaNet has started implementing unique vendors and personal item collection questlines. This is definitely starting to make PvE feel like it has more to offer, but I still think it needs a big rework in general.
Thoughts and opinions?
Thanks so much! I just went ahead and redownloaded the .dat file and that did the trick!
Any time I try to edit my guild emblem, boom, game borked. A search for similar problems turns up nothing. Anybody else having this problem? Already sent a crash report. I have a high end PC running crossfired cards and have tried disabling the second card already but no dice.
It’s an update from my previous post way back when. How do you think now?
You commanded a successful 1,200 citizens LA overflow I was in! I remember thinking “that’s the most adorable charr ever!”
Well done on compiling all these bugs.
I hate to admit it but I doubt we will see too many turret fixes, if any at all, in the next patch. I am astonished how long the bugged rifle turret overcharge has been around. It was literally around ten updates ago that it was broken and remains unfixed to this day.
If by some miracle there are some turret fixes in the next patch, it’ll most likely bring along some new bugs which will also go unfixed for another long period of time.
I love the landscapes and the level of detail that ArenaNet put into it but I have trouble immersing myself in the atmosphere of each environment or area due to the generalized ambient music. I’m not saying I dislike the ambient music, nor do I find it extraordinary— it’s just ‘there’.
I would love to hear more pieces of music created for specific areas or zones, or even just the ability to tailor custom music more in-depth.
The Bard’s Valley area in Mount Maelstrom during the nighttime blew me away (picture below). Just imagine how much more of an impact areas like that could have with more specific pieces of music.
Anywho, that’s my first-world issue. Might just be me; after playing games like Okami and Alan Wake, other soundtracks might start to seem a bit mundane. Either way, not a big deal.
Anybody else feel similarly?

Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Schewe.1673
I will say I love the Super Adventure Box and kudos to the developers for the 8-bit homage masterpiece, but good grief, the latter half of the Rapids is so unbelievably frustrating.
My biggest gripe is that you’re constantly pulled into the rapids even if you haven’t touched the water. Recovering before the rapids pull you backwards further is near impossible because it’s completely erratic where you’ll reappear after you get back up… sometimes you won’t even be facing the same direction.
I’m fine with something being difficult because it’s designed that way, not because it’s plagued with bugs.
‘Champion of the Gauntlet’ or something along those lines. The mini is fine but it goes back into the inventory every time you die…is that even intended?
A title like this would be sufficient compensation for the amount of work required to defeat her.
There should definitely be a title and also a not-terrible prize.
I hardly consider having a mini version of an enemy I had to fight eighty times following me everywhere a reward.
I wonder how many damaged walls and peptic ulcers ArenaNet is responsible for, lol.
I would also like to see this introduced as an option. As I’m not a programmer I don’t know if something like this would work with Guild Wars 2’s engine but I imagine a configuration like this:
“Automatic” – particle effects are reduced depending on player/npc population in area
“Low” – particle effects always reduced, better for lower end computers
“Medium”
“High” – particle effects always best detail level
Elixir R was my favorite stun breaker before they thoroughly destroyed it like a patch ago or so. Now it takes half a second to cast and only refills your endurance. Hell, even the animation is broken when you use it while moving. It’s like somebody got bored in the middle of reworking it and walked off to get an egg roll.
The new area is breathtaking! Reminds me of something out of a Studio Ghibli movie of some sorts. Great work ANet!
Here’s my female Charr Elementalist; haven’t leveled her to 80 yet. I find female Charr look much better than the males when it comes to light armor professions but that’s just my opinion.
Open on Sea of Sorrows too
Just looking for a guild that frequently does guild missions and may be in need of more members; friendly/mature players or an adult guild would be a plus. I am level 80 with 100% world completion on one character. I may be able to bring a few friends with as well unless lower level players are unfavorable. Thanks!
Just a quick notice.
The Engineer master trait “Autotool Installation” (Inventions – X) is broken as of the recent update.
I noticed and loved it right away! The old bouncy two-legged run animation looked so silly and comedic; made it difficult taking Charrs seriously, especially when helping NPCs.
In light of this new change I actually wouldn’t mind an option to choose between always running on two legs versus four.

This update completely blew my mind and I would love to see it be a permanent part of the game!
I had the same problem too. I used Audacity to maximize the volume on the mp3s that were playing too quietly. You can also “trick” the game into shuffling the playlist by creating a blank mp3 (a second-long duration will do) and putting it first on the playlist queue.
A friend of mine made an account and played during the Lost Shores event and now wants to upgrade his account to a full account. I just bought a retail code and couldn’t find an “upgrade” option or anything of the sort. So we registered a new account with all the same credentials and applied the serial code. Attempting to log in gives the “grace period has ended” notice, and his email address never received a confirmation email. Any help here?
I love Search and Rescue, even though it’s bugged and only seems to revive half the time. I like it because I can send my pet to help a downed teammate while I distract or knockback the attackers.
Skill just needs a few changes to be more useful.
- Fix bug where it only works some of the time (same with Lick Wounds)
- Increase revive rate and/or decrease cooldown time
- Cooldown should start once the pet starts healing
- If pet fails to begin healing teammate, instant cooldown
I was told downloading AMD’s beta drivers would fix this as a possible solution, but not certain.
This is an odd glitch that seems to pop up [most] prominently in cave areas. I’m talking about the perpendicular black lines on the ground. They seem to be shadows as you can see them on my puppy dog’s back. My friend has a computer with similar specs but doesn’t have this problem; my graphics card drivers are all up to date as well.
Just kind of curious as to if anybody might have a solution to this problem because this might be related to texture issues I’m having with some other games as well.
My apologies if this has already been mentioned.
Both of these skills seem to work about 50% of the time. When bugged the pet will just stand over you/the other player without healing them.
Coupled with a long recharge time this makes Search & Rescue a rather unbeneficial skill, which is unfortunate because it has great potential for boss fights and larger battles.
I agree, people take everything for granted nowadays. ArenaNet could instead start charging a monthly subscription fee like nearly every other MMO out there.
