When I lag and get ~1k ping (normally around 170), tracert shows that some telia.net node is dropping up to 50% of packets. It’s noticeable even at 5%. Most lag is on the ISP side.
I do like the exhaustion idea, but make it more refined:
-Placing a ram near an enemy gate does not or minimally stacks exhaustion
-Placing a ram far from any enemy gate stacks a lot of exhaustion
-Commanders have increased exhaustion recovery for every player they have in their squad
-Different siege stacks different amounts of exhaustion (superior and guild stacks less, since they are more expensive anyway, while ballistas and regular golems will incur a bit more)
-Dropping siege while you have unbuilt siege already will cause you to stack more exhaustion
-Killing enemy players, and destroying their structures and siege will reduce your exhaustion
-Taking supply from towers and keeps that are upgrading, are at <50% capacity, but are not under attack, stacks exhaustion
-Taking supply from camps instead of keeps and towers will reduce exhaustion a bit
-Placing a ballista when there are already many ballistae around will incur more exhaustion
-Perhaps be more lenient to those of higher wvw rank
Also:
-Taking damage while in a golem locks you out from entering another one for some time
-Allow you to salvage siege sites you place yourself that are completely unbuilt, in case you make a mistake
-Add a "placed by: " buff on siege which shows who placed it
Note that these amounts are relative and would need some working out
Also worth mentioning is “claim trolling”, where a troll claims a keep so real guilds cannot apply buffs. Easy fix is to allow multiple guilds to claim a keep, where only the first flies their banner, but the rest can apply buffs.

There are 2 problems with No More Tricks, Scarlet:
1. You can load into the fight standing on a scorch mark, failing the achievement instantly.
2. The scorch marks can sometimes still do damage even after their visual effect disappears, which made me fail it even when I was lucky enough to load in while not standing on a scorch mark.
Also, the door is out of range of her laser attacks, and I often see people afking there.

As much as I hate thieves, dropping stealth on damage is going too far.
Good show BP, using exploit on east keep in DH BL…BUSTED! No guild tag but BP be aware you have people using exploits.
I haven’t been to DH BL at all this matchup, but could you explain exactly what this exploit was? Or post some proof? Your words are incredibly vague.
Actually, I’d like to say that thieves can’t kill any class. Tank engi or guardians will give them a hard time. However, they can run away from any class, which is what makes me angry.
- I’d like to see culling get fixed.
- I’d like thieves not to be able to break combat and regen their health so easily by stealthing and running away.
- Anet claims that condition damage is a counter to stealth. However, they gave the thief a heal skill that stealths them and removes all burn, bleed, and poison. LOL. Maybe 1 of 3, but not all.
The only way I’ve ever managed to kill a good thief was with an immobilize and with a buddy doing dps while he couldn’t move. There’s no way you can 1v1 a good thief and kill him, unless you’re also a thief. At best you’ll just make the thief run away.

There was a lot of fun fights in Eternal BL Saturday, I just wish [Krew] hadn’t exploited by bypassing the “unable to build siege in the invulnerable area” mechanic.. was pretty lame.
Hello there. I’m the one that placed the treb. That also happens to be me in your second picture.
I can assure you that this isn’t an exploit. There is no “exploiting” involved. You can simply jump down, say beside the legendary defender, and throw a blueprint up there.
Although I don’t believe this is an exploit, if Anet did not intend for this to happen, then I suggest they remove the 1200 range on siege placement.
Edit: I’d also like to add that the treb itself isn’t actually invulnerable, just the people standing around it. You easily killed the treb with a ballista by the way.
Yeah, the consumable and unbreakable bells are different from the game bell. Shame tho, you can’t play fast notes.
This is the exact same deal for me. I’d like to get a response from Anet about this because I’d be very sad if I didn’t get another chance to get a doll frame, after already using mine to craft the mini before I heard it could be used to craft an endless tonic.
You should be invulnerable to damage from unrendered players, except the first hit from a stealthed thief since that was meant to happen, but not the whole combo from an invisible thief.

But thieves are not on top. I see a lot of people in here blaming thief stealth when they have perfectly good counters. Take the d/d ele who was complaining – you are nearly a hard counter to a stealth thief even if played poorly. You are more mobile and have near constant self heal and condition removal. Thief goes stealth > lightning 3, watch them stun themselves on the bs attempt. Follow with lt 2 for blind into updraft into rtl into earth 4 knockdown into churning earth. Glass cannon thief is likely half health by now, and cant move. panics and shadow refuge where he either dies from your continued aoe spam in the circle, flees or resets. Either way your lt cooldowns are up again and you do the same thing.

Here’s the problem. A hard counter to a thief will only make him flee or reset, not even kill him as long as the thief isn’t stupid. Thus, as the other guy mentioned, the risk vs reward on a thief is broken. As long as you’re good, there is no risk.
Highest dps, best mobility, stealth. All in one class. Broken.
Learn the game before flaming.There are some acceptable some unacceptable flames but this is the only fail and knowledgeless one.
Highest dps = Glass cannon Warrior
Best mobility : D/D Elementalists (do not mix escape mechanics with mobility)
Stealth : Yes Thieves have repeatable stealths but they are not the only one with stealth ability.
The stealths on the other classes are pitiful and won’t even stack up to 10 seconds unless you spec as a useless stealth mesmer with a torch.
Also, when he says mobility I believe he actually means escape and chase ability.
Okay im getting sick of people saying Thieves are OP. Thieves are meant to be unbeatable 1v1, read the in game description about them, it mentions they are the best for 1v1. I play a thief and i get ate up easily if i go against a group of enemies. Usually if im running with the zerg i pull out my Shortbow and spam long ranged spells. If people knew how to face a thief everything would be okay, but they dont. Example, if thief goes invis with Shadow refuge spell, use your aoe attack in the circle the thief created. Thief is dead within a few seconds. Im sick and tired of people complaining about thiefs, they are perfect how they are, and they are meant to do the most damage out of any class because they are squishy.
Show us all where they said that thieves are meant to be unbeatable 1:1.

I agree, it’s worse.
Groups of enemies half the size and twice as close take twice as long to load.
The problem is, at the moment squad is utterly useless. The only thing it does is hide other commanders and gives you another chat channel.
I’d be nice to see all other members of a squad on the map at all times and having a private squad, pretty much a party that fits more than 5 people.
I’m actually surprised that I’ve never been hit by any of these, seeing as how I’m a squishy glass cannon ele with 11k health…
I dunno about you, but the elementalist elite skills seem kitteny as hell.
The elemental is mediocre, it has terrible AI. The air elemental is without a doubt the crappiest.
Tornado is just stupid; a tiny bit of damage and knockdown every two seconds? Plus for some reason you move slowly AND they removed the stability? Waste of your time. I don’t understand why they removed stability, for example thieves have stability AND reflection, but we don’t get either?
Our underwater elite got hit by a 33% damage nerf, making it also pretty bad…
I’d personally rather have a 4th utility slot.
Anet, can you give us an elite skill worth using please?
The fact that you’re forcing us to roll thief in order to beat a thief is already saying something about the class. How come I can fight fine against any other class without first rolling that class?
Revealed debuff should be applied upon stealth ending, regardless of whether the player attacked or not.

Rolled a thief. Played it in sPvP and WvWvW, the class is by far the easiest and most broken class in the game. I couldn’t stand it. Haste/Pistol Whip along with almost unlimited stealth is so broken. High Burst and great survivability should not be in the same sentence.
This is why I find I cannot take a single word people say about thieves at face value. If someone has haste and pistol whip, they have limited stealth, if they have stealth at all.. So do you actually play a thief or just yet another troll saying he does to make a point, that turns out is incorrect?
I am totally fine with folks pointing out issues with the class. Some I will agree with, others I may not, but I will read it and pay attention. Just post in an informed manner, or ask questions to be informed.

It’s war. After being ganked countless times by thieves, I find no problem killing any lvl 3 I pass by. I will go out of my way to hunt every last innocent person walking by, and I’ll laugh over your dead body. This excludes guardians, as they’re a bit too tanky to burst down.
The warrior does a lot of damage because he immobilizes you into place. If you have a blink or good condition removal, it’s fine. Thieves you just have to tank through, it’s almost impossible to chase down a thief in stealth, unless you’re also a thief.
I’ve actually recently found it easier to handle thieves as elementalist after changing my build. Since I’m going scepter/dagger, I can just Ride the Lightning away from thieves, and I only engage thieves when their health is low enough that I can burst them down.
Stealth is still OP. Like seriously, 10 seconds in stealth? That’s pretty bullkitten.

He has to hit you to maintain invisibility.
That’s where you’re wrong. Thieves have other skills (which do not require him to hit you) with relatively short cooldowns they can rely on to stay invisible.

I’m basically looking for a server with a cooperative guild with voicechat. The militia of that server should also understand some basic things:
*Understand what supply is and how to use it
*Don’t run from a battle when you outnumber the enemy
*Stop attacking a gate when a wall is down
*Go though a portal when a mesmer tells you to
*Actually read the chat
*Don’t attack an enemy keep when the enemy is already attacking your keep
*Commanders that know what they’re doing and are serious about WvW

Yep, I finally lost faith in HoD. Today, I stayed inside a tower after the enemy took it so I could portal people inside. Some people found me, but a group of teammates were wandering outside the tower, so I decided to drop a portal for them. 1 person took the portal. Btw, I was screaming over team chat for people to get here, it’s also the closest tower to our spawn in EB.
So, what server should I transfer to?
The thing is, you CAN dodge that. He isn’t invisible. Thieves can do it all invisible, and still run away invisible. Good luck dodging what you can’t see.
You have a small group, maybe 4 per tower and 10 at keeps defending, and the rest go zerging. The zerg go in a big group and turtle, while building siege to kill anything that goes near them and countering any siege the enemy builds.
The zerging sounds pretty crappy, but that’s the way Anet designed the game.
Just a question: Is there anybody who does not play thief and says this is fine?
Solution: rez, either rezzing yourself or another person, should be interrupted when you take damage, and you shouldn’t be able to start rezzing for another 3 seconds.

Mesmer downed state skill 2, the one that teleports and stealths you, sometimes does not teleport you far enough to avoid the stomp.
Temporal curtain’s second cast, Into the Void, will sometimes not pull people if you double tap the button too fast.
Stacking and AoEing on yourself does not work, as I saw a thief was able to use smoke bomb to stealth himself indefinitely, no backstab required.

Being on HoD, we’re often outmanned and can only hold onto one map. So since there’s no orbs, we’re not at a huge disadvantage on that one map!
@fixit: You can rain hell down on people on top of battlements like no other. Only this morning we needed take down some trebs on a battlement and we set up a special elementalist task force to do just that…
Incidentlly, Mesmer is one of the worst classes for attacking battlements and entrench positions for this same reason (serious lack of indirect fire)
iBerserker will spawn without LOS, so it’ll hit siege on the other side of walls.
Btw, I have 80 ele but rerolled mesmer.

Unfortunately, WvW mechanics currently benefit people who zerg, so unless you got a group of ~10 well disciplined players who will do exactly what you say, you’re out of options.
Anyways, to reduce zerging, I suggest Anet remove reviving from defeated state, only allow downed state once per 5 mins, and raise the 5 man cap on AoE.

My Apologies, the thief was from Tarnished Coast, not Crystal Desert.
A Mesmer does NOT have to target anything. They just get close to the wall, NO TARGET SELECTED, then use the ability. The games “Auto Target Feature”, will choose the nearest available target to send the spell at. This is often Siege or players behind the wall repairing it. So many things are wrong with WvWvW, this is just one of many.
This is incredibly wrong. If a mesmer uses phantasmal berserker with no target selected, no phantasm spawns. I know, I play mesmer. Just cause you’re up a wall, doesn’t mean we can’t target you.
Simple problem with simple fix. Thieves are tying up camps by running around while stealth. Combined with the rendering problem, it’s incredibly hard to kill a single thief stealthing around, since he literally appears while in the animation of doing his next stealth (backstab). The simple solution would be to make stealthed characters not block capturing, like in sPvP.
3 problems:
-Thief stealth lasts way too long and the cooldown is way too short.
-The usual culling problem.
-You can block camp capture while stealth.
For example, in borderlands today, a single thief from Tarnished Coast prevented a group of ~10 guys from capturing Danelon. We finally killed him by randomly AoEing everywhere. (I think somebody got a lucky snare on him too)
Anyways, this thief’s username was Hellspawn.5104, which I found by selecting report in the second that he appeared.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get a screenshot, because how am I supposed to get a screenshot of something invisible? I also didn’t have Fraps on, sry about that.

I play a mesmer, and I can tell you that phantasmal berserker is never obstructed, which is probably a bug since all the other phantasms can be obstructed. Even though I play mesmer, I’d still like this fixed.
Thief is way more OP.
