Mordremoth has been severely injured by The Pact.
Tyria has been fighting with all of what they have to repeal the Elder Dragon.

However, it turned out that a report handed to Queen Jennah by a scout of The Pact described legendary creatures coming out of a chaotic storm to revive the Dragon and his body magically vanished into the air.

It looks like all of the Elder Dragons are regrouping, healing their allies and are going to strike Tyria to dominate and reign over the kingdom.

Queen Jennah has ordered an army of spies and detectives arround Modremoth’s domain to collect clues on what is going to happen next.

So let me make this clear for you :

1) The developpers are LISTENING to playerbase and are TRYING to balance classes out.
Which means that from a season to another there will always be an “OP” class out there.
Balancing a competitive PVP game requires ALOT of time, dedication and testing.

2) ANET is trying to step out from bunker / condi meta by removing the bunker abilities STEP BY STEP.

3) Don’t expect instant balance when an expansion comes out with 9 new elite specializations … It takes alot of time to make everything perfect.

4) JUST BE PATIENT AND POST [Suggestion] In your appropriate class forum .

If matchmaking was fair and balanced players would be matched into matches against those of a similar level where they have an even chance of winning. Clearly if such long losing sequences are happening this is not the case with the system. I would say given the population issues that the best system is the S1 system.

Why isn’t it possible to stop the actual matchmaking system that has the ability to match 2 necros, 2 mesmers, 2 ele, or 3 thieves all together in a match ? Why bot instead limit the possibilities to 1 of each class on the same team and if someone tries to switch class before match start simply say : Unable to join the match this profession already exists. Or something arround those lines ? I think developpers have no idea how broken a match can be when 2 or more of the same class queue together …

Bring back ranked arena queues right away because not only this allows to have better team mates / opponents but this also allows to queue for a cause and prevent clowns and kitten s infesting the games

Thanks to netstat -ano, after blocking some IPs in my router and after installing Bitdefender Total Security and some advanced anti malware with network scanning i do not experience anymore disconnections. Took me arround 2 hours to deal with it and a couple dozens of IPs to manually block but it was deffinetely worth the shot.

Why would someone want to DDoS a complete nobody like yourself in unranked pvp?
How could anyone determine when you are pvping and/or “doing well in sPvP?” (versus when you are say… pve-ing or not doing well in spvp)
How did someone even get your IP to DDoS to begin with?

Did you even check your router logs to see if you are being a victim of a DDoS attack…. or are you just pulling stuff out of your rear end?

Also…. even if you are truly a victim of a DDoS attack…. what do you expect Anet to do about it?

I’ve been playing video games for 12 years. I’ve been downloading “dangerous content” for more than 12 years. I’ve had keyloggers and trojans on my computer that i easly get rid of. All of these things never ever affected my network stability since 12 years but by a september night, i managed to beat some high end players and reached the hall of fame.
At that point, all the kitten started to happen on my network connection not to mention cyber bullies adding me all of a sudden on hangout, skype, twitter and facebook.

On a side note, ever wondered why you see pink everywhere IRL ? Or people wearing those scarf pauldrons with bandit mask ? Well you would get it if you see me arround in the pvp lobby.

On a serious note, i know i am being hacked it happens that i stay connected and see people using skills and moving arround but i can’t even use skills just move arround and don’t get hit. I press alt tab oppen internet gmail youtube twitter everything works. I even go to speedtest and i see 85 mbps. Then i go back to the game and i see i have been disconnected at 250 : 208 after a 2 win streak. Coincidence ?? I think not. All this disconnect happens after a 2 win streak not to mention i play every single time against the same people. Then i try to oppen the game again …. Surprise account log in takes 10 minutes, google doesn’t oppen twitter doesnt works youtube is dead i go back to speedtest and see connection dropped from 85 mbps to 5 mbps.

Well Anet see the IP of players in the same instance. Since sPvP arena is considered as such it is easy to tell if one of the players has abnormal connection behavior at some point of the game.

You need to contact your ISP. They can look into it way better than a stranger on the internet. And really, why would you trust a stranger on the internet to help you resolve what you think is a DDOS attack from other strangers on the internet?

If the issue is affecting all facets of your internet connection (as in, things outside GW2), call your ISP. They can give much greater insight into any connection interruptions you may be having.

If the issue is affecting only your connection to GW2, submit a support ticket. They can look into your connection to GW2 servers and help to diagnose the problem.

I have called my ISP and i was told that many users in the same area than me had the same issue. However i have asked my friend living 50 meters away from me who has the same ISP than i do and never had any troubles. The conclusion is my ISP is aware i’m getting DDOS but deny the fact that i’m getting hacked and claims that such attacks are impossible and they are most likely scared to lose a customer. I don’t want to bring my PC to the closest police station because 1) it’s heavy 2) they don’t give a kitten about cyber attacks in my country.

Any help is welcome regarding programs or tricks to reduce and neutralize the impact of DDOS. I tried installing a VPN but it doesn’t change anything it just brings more lags and delays in between skills but at least allows me to oppen google …

If it’s your whole computer, are you 100% sure it’s not a virus or other unwanted software dragging your system down. What other programs to you have running? Are you running any p2p programs or torrent programs that could be eating your bandwidth? Also are you always playing the same people? Funny that it only happens when you are doing well. Is the rest of your team effected also?

I have errased all potential viruses from my computer with anti virus and this issue seems to affect some other people as well. And yes it seems like i’m always playing against the same people but under different names. How could this be possible even when i’m playing unranked ?

This includes :

- Trash items from mobs like trophies that won’t even sell for 1 copper to the merchant.
- Minor / Major Runes, like come on who is still using that ?

Alternative solution :

Put some option in the game client which enables to receive those trash items by leaving the box empty ( by default for newbies ) and tick the box to never get these items in your bags when you kill a mob / open a chest / box or salvage an item.

Thief’s main mechanic is steal. Steal actually forces you to engage in close combat. Unless they change steal to disengage from enemy (Stun breaker ?) from the Elite specialization trait it doesnt make any sense to give us more ranged stuff.
Not to mention scrapper and chronomancer chronocancer can have perma reflect on and that scrapper has more mobility than thief does since maps are so small he can swoosh his hammer and instantly catch you ect… Yet only " omg op mobility " thief has is being abble to teleport on platforms with shortbow which is our only reliable way to survive since stealth is dead.

God i wish i had 4k+4k+5k like mentionned above. But hey that does not work like that. You forget about counterplays and the huge amount of CC that everyone now has that can outplay thief easly.

I’d be curious to look at your profession table but sure this the division is account bound its easy to farm it with a rev or something else and then brag forums with such a screenshot.
From personal experience it is impossible to reach this with solo queue and i play thief for a long time.

Ok this is it. There is no way for a thief to be efficient in competitive pvp anymore like it used to be before HoT so called " balance " patch.
The condition spam overall is just insane and the thief doesnt have anything to counter that despite hide in shadow on a 30 second cooldown or roll for initiative on a 60 second cooldown.
I don’t even want to mention dragon hunter traps because they are so kittened as hell and just doesnt make sense to give the guardian such unfair advantage over the field. Two options : either run away from the guardian (because you have to) or run with 1 other guy just to get him down.
Condition mesmer is annoying has alot of evades/stealth/shields/cc abilities that make him abble to kite 3 people on a flag just by himself.
Necromancers just punish us everytime we do wrong moves, Dragonhunter is insanely OP, Druid i don’t even want to talk about it how kittened it is.

I don’t want to go into a full breakdown of the current state of PvP because it is insanely broken.

Please care about what you do with the game there is nothing more frustrating than playing with shortbow all day. This is not a rumor that thief needs to be taken care of, it’s a reality.

At that current point i just feel like quiting the game which i don’t want to because the game is just amazing with the raids people always want a thief in them, the pve, the lore and stuff but really do something about us.
