Why do Charrs have horns?

oh no...no Asura stew, they are mostly bones, skin and tendons and what meat you can find, isn’t worth the trouble. I’d suggest either crab or even Grawl......heck, i’d eat Risen over Asura.....

Plus, who else but an equal ranked Charr would even dare to question his fashion sense?

Centurion (your-name-here) possibly at some point? Rytlock would propably just laugh it off, looking how much he gives in to player character.

.....calm down.....no point arguing with bite size Stone Age geniuses, waiting for a chance to create another catastrophe with their experiments......calm down.....show you are above them.... think of few good ones.....Snaff, Zojja, Efut, Gorr

I have Asura in my account, and as player, I love their ego and attitude. but also i have history of admiring Charr since Prophecies. To my question i have hard time getting answer, because i have dreadful name and facial memory.

Serpent Eyed.8365

When I month or over so first went to Rata Sum in quest of completing cities, i was baffled by how good it really looked……some time after that, I was stunned even more by how rude welcomes asura give (I am Charr). I was handled as filthy talking animal, who brings mud into home and collects fleas. For notice, i wear shoes and keep my fur good. The point is, how do these little chihuahuas greet you, my fellow non-asura and asura adventurers?

(thought asura forum would be good place to post this entry, since people don’t expect to see post about Rata Sum hospitality in other forums, not trying to stir up trouble)
((on the side note, i must thank Anet, for in my opinion they have done wonderful job with cities and the way NPC react to players race when spoken to))

since i saw this, my in-game persona has thought: "What in the twisted realms of The Mists did Evon Gnashblade think, when he brought this to markets? profits of course, since he started selling these after success of Quaggan plushies." If it would have looked more like this real world charr plush, i would not have minded so much, and rather thought of Rytlock chasing Evon for selling those plushies.

As many of you know, there’s 6 statues of great Charr heroes on path that takes to crafting stations and Diessa Plateau. Some time ago I realized that these statues are not looking like default Charr, but they have their own look. I would love to ask/dare you, my Charr brothers and sisters, to re-create these statues as Charr characters by bases of what is told of them in memorial plates and by how the look physically, shown by statues.

We are still talking about juvenile charr: a kit, who has not graduated yet from fahrar, is still by nature immature and who was most likely born in Black Citadel and has not felt horrors of neither flame legion nor their Shaman Caste who were defeated on year 1116 AE (current year 1325)? so i see natural she frowns upon such little thing as scab.

I’ve been thinking for long time of doing biography of my Charr to dA, but haven’t found courage to start. So i came ask your opinion, my fellow Charr, should i write this series of books telling tale of Pact and it’s commander who was there to face the dragons, or should i leave the idea and let it be buried in deserts of my mind until i am able to laugh at this idea?

Concerning the flame legion

in Charr

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

I agree with what Surbrus said, but feel that there is other occasion where flame legion would join others or vice versa. If anyone of legions find new Khan-Ur, of course terms to this happening are harder to come by, but alliance would hold longer than joining for one cause. I feel that after legions would have handled the threat, legions would be back to square 1

For Khan-Ur to be chosen he would have to be in possession of "Claw of Khan-Ur", approved by all legions and possibly blood relative to only Khan-Ur yet

Santa Charr

in Charr

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

As you may have figured, Anet created Tixx to be Tyrias version of Santa, and also you may have figured pictured he looks in his concept art, mildly said twisted.
So as to think how would other races fill boots of Santa, i first thought of “Santa Charr”.
Now i provoke you to make think what he would be like. What he brings to good kids? what about naughty ones? or would he be more like St. Knut (Scandinavian, or atleast Finnish belief of guy who looks like monster-goat. He comes at St. Knuts day to your home, gets wasted and if you were nice after your Christmas gives presents, if you were naughty he takes back presents Santa brought) so state your opinions
(personally i believe he would be either like St. Knut.)

Charr Sexuality/Customs

in Charr

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

i kind of disagree with emotionless relationships and polyamory/ -gamy relationships, since playing this game and reading things, i’ve come across much more caring relationships than violent or dominating relationships (excluding Flame Legion of course)
for example you meet late in Orr story very close charr friends, Galina Edgecrusher and Snarl Backdraft, that as time passes start having more and more clearly caring, romantic flavor and if you talk to them at afterparty of Zhaitan, they "whisper" to you to have feelings towards eachother, though afraid to tell it to eachother fearing rejection.
Also there is short story Anet wrote on Charr week below article "the legions of the Charr"

you can read it from here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legions_of_the_Charr

I believe you find it without instructions how to read it.

Charr drug policy

Serpent Eyed.8365

I happened to drift into chat about “Charr-nip” and i ended up wondering, is there regulation of drugs in charr society? We got to conclusion it wouldn’t propably be tolerated in active duty ( think of blood warband on frontline, whirling and purring head full of Charr-nip. Hilarious view, isn’t it? wouldn’t like to be anyone rubbing narco-Charr stomach when effect wears out) so i want to hear your opinions, fellow Charr and Charr-minded.

What profession best suits Charr?

in Charr

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

that depends on legion you choose. what i’ve seen from npc’s of these legions are:
Blood Legion: Warriors and Rangers
Iron Legion: Engineers
Ash Legion: Thieves and Necromancers
Of course you can choose any profession you want, but those npc’s ive seen associated to those legions.

I know that necromancer isn’t easy to categorize to ash legion, but if you go to early game Ash camp and join dynamic event there, you undoubtedly see them use thief’s cloud thingy and necromancers life siphon. And there is only time i see legions use necromancy, so I’d put Ash and necromancy together

Charr physically stronger than Norn?

in Charr

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

i remember hearing this thing about Charr/Norn that back when Ascalonians drove Charr out, they tried to expand north but were stopped by Norn. This somehow suggests Norn individual is equal to Charr individual, but Norn (plural) would fall if whole collective legion, needless to say about whole Charr, war force would focus on them. I heard/red this long time ago, so i don’t remember anymore where i found this info.

We know that the gods are killable and that others can take their place. Only their power seems to be immortal.

i came to same conclusion as Lutinz, and it brought funny image to my mind of theoretically, if strong enough Charr would have won Balthazars powers, humankind in tyria would have ended up worshipping Charr god, wouldn’t they?

As much as i agree with you, he steals spotlight. But we again have here common dilemma for Guild Wars Nightfall players, if you would become supreme leader of The Pact and defeat Zhaitan and other Elder dragons that is one statue worthy thing you did then. now lets suppose there comes GW3 and we would find lore of this hero, we would have more marshals of Pact than there are members in Pact. In other words, we have to just be happy with nameless heroes place in Trahernes shadow.

Waypoints: How do they work in lore?

in Lore

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

me and my brother thought of that paying issue, and got agreement on only one solution: since its asuran magic-based technology, i wouldn’t be surprised if there was mechanic that takes money in midway of waypointing. what bugs me most is how does supposedly dead hero manage to activate waypoint and resurrect in near death-site or near destination. if someone has theory to that, i would be glad to hear it. i mean by how could this system know, where you are trying to get. it has to have some degree of ability to independent thinking, otherwise hero, traveling through Sparkfly Fen and dying would end up to The Brand into lap of The Shatterer.

Zhaitan is a poor tactictian

in Lore

Posted by: Serpent Eyed.8365

Serpent Eyed.8365

elder dragons don’t plot, they destroy and feast, their lieutenants are tacticians. reason why elder dragons went to slumber in the first place, is that they ran out of food. so Tequatl is one doing tactics and Zhaitan is "big fat king who sits in his castle eating". yes he has some control over risen and supply them with magic, but bigger plans are done by Tequatl.

Lore says that Grenth is remains of old extinct race, grenth overthrew previous god of death and was bringing races to Tyria and is as old as dwayna, melandru, balthazar and others. Malchor was just spectacular sculptor that had extraordinary ability to look gods themselves without their aura blinding him. to me atleast thats the thing here.

Serpent Eyed.8365

Hello everyone
JoT is Charr-only PvE/V and WvWvW guild operating in Underworld.
About guild:
# We are lore-friendly guild (so i wish you have serious name, not for example "smoked sausage")
# Guild works with charr ranks and manners (aka. ranks go from Khan-Ur to soldier and fahrar and it is possible to get higher in rank, how it happens, is chosen in time)
# Members belong to legions they choose in personal story
# if your online with appropriate race, displaying guild is highly wished and only way to guarantee possibility to ascend in the rank

and to the boring stuff: Rules!
# I will not tolerate any kind of bullying in my precious guild. I want it to be fun to everyone and if i see/hear someone staining guild with bullying or abusing rank will cause removing from rank to kicking from guild.
# I am most interested in lore friendly RP and if you yourself aren’t interested, don’t participate to that RP. I won’t force you to RP but demand that you let others do it
# i will give some special charr right to access guild vault DO NOT ABUSE THAT RIGHT!!!!!!

and for last If someone interested knows how and is ready to do homepage for the guild, he will get title of ”Assistant of Khan-Ur"
