I have 3 level 80 revs, all with 100% map complete, with more than 1800 hours total time with them. Underwater skills are just abandoned by devs for this profession. I don’t know if you are playing WvW, but there you must sometimes fight underwater. Even on the new map presented in beta weekend I had to fight underwater to complete event. OP, stop telling everybody that underwater skills are not used, please. If other professions have the possibility to use new spec underwater, than underwater fight is not abandoned. Just for revenant it’s probably taboo.

Eternity Greatsword Legendary, is it worth ?

I have Sunrise and Twilight for some time and because I have 17 level 80 characters (+some low level) I found better to have two legendary weapons than one skin. I know I can combine them at any time and it is enough for me.

I have this issue 4 days in a row (Czech Republic, UPC provider). Problems starts always around 15:45 GMT and the game is almost unplayable till ~21:00 GMT. Right now I’ve “finished” Tequatl, where lags started during first defense and I even got DC during last phase.

Problems usually starts on 195.16.162.186 node, but during this Tequatl the problems were on ncsoft nodes according to a few tracings. One of it:

The game is not totally unplayable, but I have problems always during “big events” – Tequatl or Triple Trouble. It’s not rare to have lag spikes also out of these fights and on the other maps (especially Lake Doric).

Disable Autotargeting key does nothing

I checked it on 2 accounts and Disable Autotargeting key does nothing. On the other hand Toggle Autotargeting works like a switch between on and off. But there is a problem that players don’t know what is a current state of Autotargeting and they should open options to check it. There could be at least some notification in chat when key is pressed.

Unable to Login/Disconnected After Map Change

I was in normally working Metrica Province. We did Fire Elemental and when people left it for next boss I was asked to change the map because this one will be closed. I can’t log with any character to any map since I tried to change the instance.

I understand when it is on loading screen for players with only core game account, but it looks stupid when player has already bought HoT and it’s on loading screen for HoT map.

Beta crippled by bugs, lack of info & devs

- First of all I would like to say that I’m really curious how long it will take to have events without bugs after HoT release when we can test only two event chains and we have to be very very lucky to finish at least one on the same map. Probably never according to the Foulbear Chieftain example. I saw chains bugged in several different events, there was not only specific one (but some were more often).

- 45 minutes for night is totally out. There is nothing to do except defending posts against waves of enemies. Maybe there was prepared also something else, but it was not used, because daily events are broken. Also players are mostly leaving maps in first few minutes of the night.

- Larvae’ event is quite weird. It’s known now what we should and should not do to finish this event, but we don’t know if it was intended or it is just our workaround (it seems so).

- I was lucky enough to finish Pact chain twice and Itzel chain three times, but each one was different.

— The biggest problem was time for the Itzel chain in the beginning of the beta weekend (when events had not been bugged yet), because collecting and burying eggs took too much time. Collecting is ok now when players have gliding and mushrooms masteries unlocked, but burying them is still the same. When I fought with wyvern for the first time, nobody was able to brake her bar and do any damage during first two times when wyvern was on the ground but when she landed for the third time then the bar was immediately broken and we killed her during this one session on the ground. In the second encounter she landed without bar immediately. The third encounter was something between – landed with bar, but we were able to remove it.

— First Pact chain I did was quite smooth (many players deaths included), but second one was very chaotic, when no side didn’t know for a long time if it is not bugged.

- I played with DH, Reaper, Tempest and Revenant and most of the time in the VB and I tried to find at least some viable build for them to be useful and survive, but I didn’t tried many possibilities. I tried them also in CS, ML and MM maps and it’s hard to say how good or bad they are, because core game is much easier then VB. I only confirmed my fear that DH is poor. The rest was playable for this beta, but they still need some work.

- The one thing I would like to have immediately available are the map rewards.

It has easy solution. Don’t go to the party with more than one other guardian or change the elite skill if you think it’s OP. I play mostly solo and for me is enough that they disabled SA for now although I had only 10% bonus. I know it must be fixed. If they will change this skill, I’ll use again only Focus Renewal. I have at least some options now and I can take what I really need and not just FR because there is nothing better as before.

Thank you, that I made ascended mace 3 days ago just for nothing, because it’s useless without Symbolic Avenger. I agree that bonus sharing must be fixed, but this is just lazy solution. I hope you will fix it very quickly.

You should finally start to do regular testing before you release anything. These problems are not like players’ HW issues, these are basic in-game mechanic problems which should be found before release.

I’m really disappointed. I spent more real money in this game during last 2 years then for all other games together in last 10 years (included F2P MMOs I supported by real money). But I really didn’t expect that expansion for that price will not give me at least free slot.
I don’t care about title, e.g. my main walks without it. I’m not using minis, so I don’t care for it too. I don’t care for beta access. I participated on last one (PvE) and it was too short and in bad time so I played it only for 4 hours. The content was not bad, but not even remotely worth of this price and it didn’t look too much promising either.

If there would be at least one free slot in the standard edition, I would buy it without any comment, just because of fun I had in the game. But right now it is a bad deal just in principle, it’s not just only about money (I can buy slot for gold). Honestly, I thought about buying highest available version of HoT when they announced it, but not now, because it doesn’t have that value for me in current state.

I will see if my beloved guardians will be at least the same after next update or they will be worse then before (I have all professions, but …). I’m loosing my will to continue with almost every announcement after they introduced “whateverHunter” specialization.
If I will continue I will not buy update for my second account and I regret that I didn’t wait with buying gems for it at least for 2 days. I’m done with levelling 4 characters on this account, it’s useless. It’s just good lesson for me not to buy gems for real money.

Dungeon Story's made soloable

I’m not big fan of dungeons and fractals. I did them only a few times and mostly with guildmates, but I always had a bad feeling what will happen if I would be downed or not play it correctly although it was my first time and nobody told me what to do. I have that feeling always even though everything is going smoothly.

I did only once Arah story to finish personal story with my main character. A few others are waiting just for rework of it to do it solo.

I made only one L80 character after megaserver update and NPE and I’m missing traits related to story dungeons. I would like to do them solo and watch the cutscenes to know what am I doing there and why.

Anet already showed that it is possible to do it. If I remember it correctly so enemies in Tower of Nightmares instances were scaled according to the amount of people in party. Story dungeons could be done similarly. Story dungeons should just show players what to expect in explorable mode (even more difficult), but first of all to tell the story. I would really like it this way.

Liked the ready up, name still doesn't fit.

My main character is a guardian and I’m very disappointed they named it Dragonhunter. I played many RPGs and I don’t remember any class named ‘whateverHunter’ to be heavy armored. The name doesn’t fit neither the class nor GW lore. It sounds like achievement title.

If you would asked players earlier what class could be Chronomancer, Druid or Tempest I think that 95% would assign them correctly, but Dragonhunter???
For me it will be just specialization S1. If they will add another silly name for other guardian specialization than it will be S2…

That’s why I stopped doing commissar. I did pre-events (90% cases solo) just to come to dead boss. If there would be some timeout before he appears or such portal like for Behemoth, I would probably try it again.

When I get the LFG cooldown, I just restart the game and I can try to join again. But it is quite annoying when game counts also unsuccessful attempts.

I don’t think that normal world events were created to be done by zerg. Several World Boss events have the same problems, but these were designed for more players (before megaserver zerg).

I think the solution could be if all players did not have the same map as daily. It could be randomly chosen. They would be spread out across the whole Tyria and with the megaserver system there would be still enough players to do events but not so many as now.

I did the same event yesterday and we succeeded, but it was really hard. We were defending “my” gate in 12-15 players , but we had almost only Vets or Elites which were 2-3 levels above us. We had also 2 champs. Event took too much time and waves were in quite low intervals for such scale. Upscaled foes are not a big problem on L80 maps, but on low level maps you see the difference. I don’t think I will do this event with zerg again.

New dailies changed my daily routine, but I don’t think that to the better way. I used to fulfill achievements just during normal play without any rush. Now it’s managed by Anet.

There are 2 questions in the game I really hate now – “When is the [Boss]?” and “Any event?”. It’s so pathetic when maps are full of 80s only to do quickly 4 events and go away (especially on maps before big bosses it’s great).

I’m mostly PvE player, but I don’t like dungeons and fractals so I’m not doing them. I was “very pleasantly” surprised that 2 tasks for today are fractals. Brisban Wildlans are in Maguuma area, so we could do also miner together with events. Where is at least the small diversity of play from previous days?

I don’t play PvP at all, but my server is “fortunately” very terrible in WvW so I could finish my dailies there + I tried also EotM after long time. It’s silly when PvE player has score for PvE vs. PvP vs. WvW daily – 2 : 0 : 4.

If there will not be any change with the daily style, could it be possible to change it at least that not every player has the same combination? It could be randomly chosen for each player.

I can’t say right now if it will be good for me until I would know the combinations for PvE.

I’m not a AP hoarder, because I’m getting dailies just during normal play, but I want to finish at least 5 of them to get daily reward.
I was used to do 10-12 APs daily in previous system. After they did only one daily table I’m doing 7-8 APs daily. I suppose that my routine in the new system will be just to log on, check if I want to do at least 3 PvE dailies and maybe log out if my decision would be negative. I’m not doing PvP at all, WvW is almost down on my server so I lost my interest as well as for doing dungeons and fractals. I think that only 4 options for PvE is not enough. They will just dictate us even more what, where and when we have to do. Boss schedule was the beginning.

Probably it’s really time for change after 1.5 year of daily play and a lot of euros spent, but it could be just opposite of what developers want. They tend to do unnecessary changes instead of solving real problems, bugs and adding new really interesting content (DT and SW were fine until players started to be pushed to grind in them more and more because of RNG).

I’m not a big fan of LS2. I made all of them only with my main guardian and usually just only once for story. But this one was finally different and I made it with guardian, ranger, mesmer and thief just to find who would be better for achievements run. I had a little problems only during first run until I found that the last fight is a combination of mechanics used to kill previous bosses and that taking fragile debuff inside the aoe damage circle is not a good idea. Doing it with alts was easy after that (just 3rd boss fight with mesmer was slightly longer). This is the first part of LS2 I really like. It is annoying when you don’t know what to do, but it is rather easy when you found the way.

P.S.: Thief was great choice for Hidden Arcana achievements.

When I read announcement about Megaserver I was worried about it. It had to change all aspects of the game I enjoyed. But the reality after patch is much worse. I don’t want to repeat all those things which are in previous comments (Boss schedule, zerg, guild missions, language, wp, different instances, etc.).

I found one positive thing on the Megaserver. It changed my willingness to play from day to day and it returned me to the real life. I’m not leaving the game at all, because I like my guild mates and the game itself. But I don’t want to spend so many hours a day in current game as before. One hour for daily (reduced) and 1-2 bosses are enough and I have a time for other activities.

Leveling is the worst it's been

When I’d read the announcement of incoming changes in leveling I decided to level all my low-level characters up to L80 before the patch. I leveled up 4 characters in 3 weeks and I must say that I don’t want to see any heart, PoI, vista etc. for a very long time. It’s so terribly boring to do still the same things again and again (especially hearts). After all of that I’m happy I did it, because opening also all traits with them would be probably nightmare for me. I had to stop leveling after 2-3 hours daily to do something enjoyable with my other characters.
All the exploration was fun during leveling first 2-3 characters (different professions and races). I have 9 L80 right now and because I know what to do and how to do it quickly, I see each “delay” more and more.

It could be enjoyable for newcomers or players who want to do everything, but I think that most of the players with more characters will not appreciate it.

When I read the changes in Boss schedule I totally lost motivation to continue leveling my 9th character and to play this game at all. My real life work is managed by time schedules. I really don’t want to play according to the developers’ schedule. I’m playing for fun and relax not to have 2nd job.

I have time to kill bosses usually from 17:00 till 20:00 CET. We are running different bosses, but I will not see some of them at all after April 15 (Claw of Jormag, Taidha, Megadestroyer).

Why is it not possible to have at least 2 different bosses available at the same time, just to have possibility to do them all in 2-3 days? I don’t want to kill the same bosses all the time. It’s nothing unusual when there are several bosses killed simultaneously now. Why it is not possible on Megaservers with more people?

The next problem is paying twice for waypoints. I know you need money sink, but who asked to remove paid repair for example?!

It’s more than 12 hours after I read it and I still don’t know if I really want to play this game after April 15. The first few announced changes look mostly good, but now I’m really disappointed.

Start of this map was terrible, I wasn’t able to go there first day at all.
Next day I went there and I wanted to go for the golem parts. When I went behind the first wall I was killed by zerg group. I tried to use second route and it was the same.

Two days later I tried it again with one group of players and we done it. During one fight another player killed the mob while I was leaping on it, I lost focus and ended on some lower place dead and when 2 players came to revive me, we weren’t able to go back and we had to start from the beginning.

Later that day I wanted to try the “bucket” achievement, but when I went to the first place there was going big zerg group on me again. I left the map and I don’t know if I want to return.

This map looks interesting and different then the others, but it’s just another WvW map from my point of view.

Ability to store Trait Templates?

They could do trait reset this way at least for L80:
1. Trainer as it is – 3s50c
2. Button for instant reset – 5s

So Anet will still have money sink and players could use it anywhere.

This Heart has description: “Kill separatists, rally the disgruntled soldiers, train with the troops, and repair the charr mines and mortar protecting the camp.”

I’ve done it, but only by killing separatists, because reloading mines or repairing of mortars wasn’t counted to the task progress. I tried also logout to character select and login back.

I know that these actions had been counted to the task earlier for my other characters.

As I wrote earlier, if I would like to do this as it is set now, I’ll do it.

I tried to do last PoI in WvW for 3 days. I had been a few seconds from the last keep several times and I was killed or it was taken by other server during my way through the whole map for it. The only feeling I had was anger.

I’ve already done it. But I don’t feel any satisfaction or happiness. I felt them after completion of whole PvE. It was my work, my merit. I had max 25% participation for WvW part of “Done That” part of the title. It was work of other players from my server I was able to finish it. I just don’t think it should be done this way.

If I will really want to have this achievement and it will have these condition I will do that (2 borderlands complete, 2 partly). I have just wrote the possibility to do it another way. The problem is that there is mixed different playing style and your personal effort with effort of other players. When you read the advices to go there when your server has the control or go there at night so it is ok? Is it what devs meant by this achievement? What is the difference to be guest in prime time or hero on empty map? None. Such player will not fight and help to the others to get the map under control. Then the title should be only Been There. When I was on WvW for the first time (after I finished all normal maps and I found that I need also these = huge disappointment) I was lucky to find the zerg group and I’ve done the whole map at once. I know it is possible, but after this experience and such advices I really don’t know what is this title saying about your participation on WvW. For many players it means Been at the right time in the right place on the right server.

When I press ‘M’ to look a map I don’t see any Borderlands, because they are not directly part of Tyria.

It’s really bad idea to mix PvE and WvW together under one achievement. 95% of personal achievement is in player’s hands, but the rest 5% depends on the cooperation and work of “whole” server.

I’m on server which is bad, but not the worst and when I look at the map, we have still the same Borderland as home and I don’t see any rotation for us.

I’ve never played PvP, because I don’t like it and WvW is PvP no matter what devs are trying to say. I was there several times just to finish my achievement and I didn’t see anyone to take care about regular mobs. Everybody only tried to attack other players or camps, towers etc.

I’m going there only when our server is close to domination of the map, but it also means that our guys are going away and the enemies are going to take their land back. Once I was on some rock to see vista and nobody was visible around. When it ended I was surrounded by 12 enemies and they all killed me – not 2-3 at once, but all 12 – how epic fight it had to be for them :/.

I understand that WvW could be fun for many players, but I really don’t enjoy either I loss the fight with opposing player or I win. I have it probably half ad half. I’m PvE player and I don’t have build for WvW or PvP and I don’t have such speed reaction for it.

There could be one solution – not the best for players who don’t like PvP but still more suitable for them and for devs. The problem for me is that I don’t want to meet opposing players because they don’t know I’m here only to take free PoI or Vista and not to fight. Rift has settings in option to disable or enable PvP. If something like this would be correctly implemented here it could be good. Player could set the setting to be protected from PvP attack in WvW. This player would have different name color so everybody would know they can’t kill him, but he could not attack any players or to siege any structure. Such player would be only guest on the map and he would be able to get only free PoIs or Vistas or such under control of his server which would not be under attack. He could be attacking only regular mobs. Possibility to change the status would be only in the base camp on the map.

It would be also interesting to add new achievements for those who explored all Borderlands – bronze star, complete regular maps – silver star. No title needed.

I didn’t received neither normal chest nor bonus chest for Frozen Maw participation for my ranger. It was my first boss today. Then I didn’t received bonus chest for completing daily achievements when playing with my guardian.

I’m on Blacktide and it’s the same. I’m not able to sell anything and it take very long time till I see the option to sell.

When I came from zones to Divinity’s Reach everything was fast as usually.

I have the same problem on Blacktide server.

I also found, that I see 0% map complete on my character I was playing with when the problem begin. <- After 2 restarts it’s ok.
