We are an OCE guild, mostly PVE and have players on most times of the day, I’m also +8 along with about half of our guild with the other half being Sydney time and also NZ.
We don’t have a rep requirement though we find most people choose to rep anyway because it’s fun and why not?
If your interested in raids then we might be a good place to start, we have about 2 training for newbies specifically per month but have multiple raid teams per DAY, our guys do love a good raid.

Wow 1 post 4 people, that’s a recruiting gold mine

Although we don’t do a great deal of recruiting we like to offer a home to like minded players and also to other OCX players.

A great deal of us are also on Dragonbrand with about half of our players from Aus/NZ and the other from Southern Asia.

Where we may suit you is our players also tend to have erratic playing times. With of course peak times having more, why just today I hopped online after lunch and there was about 40 people on, not doing much just causal chatting and chilling.

Being a medium sized guild you will be able to find many people to join in all game types, PVE, PvP, and WvW, with a large part of our group Doing fractals and raids.
We have a strong raid teaching program that you could try when your ready.

Haha, hardcore army, we are ALL laid back and take nothing seriously, I’ve been with these guys for quite some time now and feel very lucky to have found a ‘rare’ fun guild.

Agree, 75% of the time it will be a ranger who rezzed me, I also play ranger and it’s my first priority to rez when I see someone down.

This is on Dragonbrand NA.

While playing Unbound Gaursian in Bloodstone Fen which is not a boss to stand back and pewpew from the sidelines.

Definitely notice in these big boss fights that’s there’s normally only 4-5 people who do rez, me being one so when I’m downed it does take a while because i can’t rez myself…..

This may or may not help but you could unbind all (like above mentioned) then change to something else, then rebind them back again.

Another issue may be for cordless keyboards that your battery may be low, I have this issue often or an Old keyboard could be a little wonky.

Basically in saying that I believe it’s a local problem and not an ANET server problem as movement, gliding, etc is done on our machines not theirs.

Agree that the extra bounce was great as I use it in Zerg fights where tagging is more important to get the loot.
Goes well with traps and a more condi build type, again good for tagging mobs.

Tragic you make perfect sense, thank you, it’s something I’ve always wondered about and thought that with a ranger they’re doing more damage than without, of course that depends on who is your 5th.
The sustain on a ranger is also quite good, along with CA we manage to keep everyone up longer and doing more deeps.

All good above, i can only add, harvest everything you see, save them. Don’t spend any gold, save it.
Do this and when your more confident and know what you want and what your doing then you can start.

You could aim for a viper armor set like I am, I too like to play a mix of Power and Condi, don’t know why, I just do.

Yes I typically like to play a Condi ranger which helps with my 300 ping.

Your advice on switching to a short bow might be a really good option for me, I think I’ll give that a try next time I’m on.

Though I have a zerk set I’m currently only in T1 and just about to start on T2, so with the pugs I find everyone dies really quickly. Because of that, I’ve since swapped my zerk out for my Magi and try to keep everyone standing and with your descibed DPS boosts I plan to make them hit harder for me.

Was your description of GotL 5 stacks 17% including the Gylph of Empowerment and Frost spirit?

Not sure, someone else could answer better than I could.
But as a temp fix to your problem, #2 clear 1 or 2 condi’s but is a fixed position 2 second wait….

First, hello and welcome, but take it easy, slow down and just have fun with it

Second, what profession have you enjoyed playing so far? There are many and you’ve done the right thing in trying them all but it’s time to select a main.

Third, if your a little slow like me (plus my lag issues) your better to go with something either ranged, or more defensive and tanky. This way you can see things coming or take the hit directly.

Acronyms? Which ones?
Zerk = power build, full DPS, easy to die
DPS = Damage per second
There are many but you don’t need to know them right away.

Finally find someone to play with in game, you can both learn new things as you go and it’s more fun for sure.

Am I just a buff bot?

In other game types I seem to have found a happy medium that I can run, for example WvW I run Speed and Sustain. SW Speed and Condi. PvE speed and traps. The list goes on.

But because ranger and fractals both vary so much I can’t seem to find a build that suits all fractals.

Currently running Spotter, Frost Spirit, GoEmpowerment, then mix the other Utiities up.
Traits are Beast, Skirmish, Druid.
Zerk build with 45% power, 35% Condi, 20% Healing.
Axe/Torch + Staff.

But this doesn’t seem quite right and there’s my problem, fractals are all so different I can’t find a happy middle ground like I can in other game types

Any advice would be helpful, but please nothing stupid I do well already I just want to do better.

JQ WvW do a lot of EOTM, they switch between maps frequently, could give that a try?

Do both for sure but focus on weapons.
Think about perhaps creating and alt for crafting, that way you don’t need to go back the a crafting area all the time.
Each level 500 crafting type will cost around 100G, something to think about if you start from nothing, then each ascended item costs about the same…

Basically, take your time and have fun doing it.

Sorry guys,
1. First you’ll need to unlock your masteries, to start Legendary level 1, which then unlocks a vendor in the lions Arch Crafting area
2. Select the main weapon types you use from this vendor, in my case that was, GS, LB, Staff.
3. While your doing your map completion you can simultaneously do your level 1 legendaires as many of the areas overlap, if you did Map first and Legendaries second you’d have go to the same place twice…..
4. For my LB and GS many of the areas where the same
5. Harvest every single mode you see, my LB needs 35 Spritwood planks = 150 elder wood each plus other mats.
6. Enjoy and have fun, go at your own pace

As a ranger I crafted my longbow from Huntsman crafting line, from 0-500 with some owned mats and cost about 120G.

A few months later I crafted my staff in Artificer again 0-500 with a lot more of my own mats and cost less at ~80G.

Ranger = pets

And I find Vune Surge just awesome!

For the big discount on LWS2 hell yes you should get it. I got it but have yet to start it, too many other things to do.

While playing my ranger I do notice that some of my CC skills reduce the breakbars more than others. However I still just smash buttons until it breaks, not the right style for sure but hey.

Spike trap & GS 5, Do the most damage I’ve found.

I like the idea of guild events, my guild does them weekly and we have a blast, it’s really very good for meeting everyone, team work and just hanging out.

Bring on more I say!

Sorry no link but try that also. He talks at length about infusions about half way through.

SW is unique in this way, it sometimes has more than 1 rich node but records/remembers your limited to 1 so it treats the second as a normal.

Agree with all of above.

Pet number 1 should be damage, I use Lynx, but you can try stalker for extra might stacking, jaguar for its stalking F2 skill.
Smoke scale if you like a more tank like first pet with good DPS.

While leveling and getting use to being a ranger if you find your both dying a lot, keep a second more tank like pet handy, the brown bear for cure conditions, black bear but forget why and a marsh drake are good options.

The guys above didn’t mention ranged pets. If you or your pet don’t often die then scrap the tank pet and use a ranged pet Bristleback is the best option by far for huge DPS, second choice i use Jungle spider for its immobilising. This helps if your shooting something from a cliff or on a cliff etc.
note their range is shorter than yours at around 1000.

BB is open to pick up when walking past, I saw 2 yesterday.
Tiger and Electric Wycern have both been moved and are more accessible now, just find a DS map that’s recently complete and go pick them both up.
Smokescale is behind an event chain but a map close to the end of that chain will have them open.
Fire Wyvern, during the night event in VB glide down if I remember correctly, it’s been a while.

Depending on how far your thinking, inside 1000 or 1200 or as much as 1500?
Inside 1000 it’s tough competition though some may argue Elementlist takes the cake.
1500 is ranger, can DH shoot that far?

The best advice I’ve seen so far is to use that boost on an alt character that you need at 80 but wouldn’t enjoy levelling to 80, as a ranger as well I don’t like the melee game play so as an example I would use the boost on a thief, warrior, guardian, etc.

Do t use it on something you enjoy playing and would be happy to level to 80.

Warrior is strong now, from personal experience solo roaming open world PvE I see
1. Rangers, 2. Necro 3. Warrior 4. Everyone else

1. Yes, your wasting your XP
2. Sounds like your build doesn’t suit you, I used to have the same issue, not enough power and no toughness, so I tried a more tanky build and can quietly harvest a node with 3-4 enemies attacking at once then move on. Try a mix of Zerk and Knights. Zerk weapon and Trinkets with Knights armor should help.
Also some enemies have a weekness either power or condi, it’s up to you to know and learn when to use either.
What profession are you?
Skill rotations are a thing too.

Good luck dude, finding the right guild is a long process. Took me nearly 6 months to find a guild that played at a similar time to my normal schedule.
GW2 is a great and happy place, much more so than the real world, you may find your not alone in your thoughts.
We can really be something in here!
