1. No map variety – I prefer PVP in WoW a lot more because of maps like Alterac Valley where you have 40 v 40.
2. Being killed in 2 seconds by a warrior – not fun at all.
3. GW2 pvp maps are more like WoW arenas (which I hate) than WoW battlegrounds.
I enjoy WvW more because there is a lot more variety of play, from capturing castles to solo roaming.
Yes, my 4,000 gems have also gone – I am in the UK.
I just played a game vs 3 guardians, 1 warrior & a thief. Double or triple the number of traps on a point – it was a horrid experience and does not make me want to continue with sPVP or GW2.
Part of the problem is the game mode where people have to stand on a small circle = ideal for traps. Can’t we have more map types like in World of Warcraft battlegrounds?

How can there ever be fair or balanced matches when teams are allowed to play against solo players? Separate the queues – give us back solo queue. It is a horrible experience for solo players to be steam roller-ed by pre-made teams, leading to the solo players giving up on spvp, resulting in longer queue times for all…….
I have tested and I am not returned to my original location in Tyria if I enter the guild hall while in HOTM, then exit the guild hall back to HOTM.
i.e.
Tyria -> HOTM -> returns me to Tyria
Tyria -> HOTM -> guild hall -> HOTM -> sends me to Lion’s Arch not my original location in Tyria
When I exit the Heart of the Mists via the exit button (not by the portal) I am taken to Lion’s Arch rather than my original location. Is this a bug?
I would love to see mounts in this game., some people say gliders are a type of mount, and these seem popular.
I have played WoW, Rift and SWTOR, all of which have mounts, they were one of my favourite things to collect. Mounts can provide greater speed (quality of life improvement), or have their own merchants etc. (like in WoW).
It could be bugged for him/her – it could only affect certain profession/races or the way he/she did the achievement or any other combination.
I do sympathise though, it is so frustrating to complete a task and not get the mastery point!
It will be a shame if Mesmer is not competitive after the patch. I think the shatter Mesmer adds variety to tournaments, with its portal play which add a surprise element and excitement. 
The nuke meta may be fun to watch in tournaments, but it is not fun to be on the end of it. Especially as there is no solo queue. It is horrible facing premades, being focused down in seconds. This only leads to casual or new players giving up on PVP.
Surely we want to encourage more players, not put people off PVP altogether……..

So which mesmer build will be viable in pvp if any?
If you buy 5 they are 560 gems per slot.
It is equivalent to 1 slot per character, so if you have 10 characters I guess it is like having 10 slots, all with the same item in the slot…..
It makes things like the home portal stone work similarly to an account wide upgrade!
Are there any jumping puzzles where gliding would help? (or are they all upwards jumps?)
Thief is getting a damage buff, but will the traditional shatter mesmer be viable again? They have similar issues to the thief, a glass cannon type with low survivability, and with all the stealth reveal skills around now, their main disengage route (stealth) is greatly diminished. (If portal is on cooldown)
With the thief damage buff, will shatter mesmers just be thief fodder again?
Why is solo queue not being brought back?
Co-ordinated teams vs pugs are one of the biggest reasons for unbalanced games.
Unless I am reading this wrong, this sounds horrible for casual/low mmr players who will have to face high ranked players at the start of the season, thus putting them off pvp altogether. It sounds like it is best not to play in the first week of the season at all……. I won’t be.
Exactly. If you are a casual/low mmr player i would highly recommend missing the first week of season 2. That way the better players will have moved several tiers already and you wont have big losing streaks on day 1.
I’m not sure it’ll take a full week, given the way the win streak works, though it depends on how many extra pips they get too, but yeah. At the same time, you’re still much more likely to be facing the middle of the distribution rather than the tail, so it depends on how bad you are. The longer you wait, the more Amber and Emerald will only be low MMR players though. There’s a perverse incentive to delay playing as a high MMR player, in that you’ll win streak a lot more once the divisions are more stable.
But it’s all temporary disruption. You’ll plateau in the same places.
We want to encourage new players to try the league (so we have a higher player population and shorter queues) – if they start off being trampled by high ranked players, game after game, it will be a horrible experience for them, and they won’t come back!
Please bring back solo queue!

Matching solo players against pre-made teams will just result in less people playing pvp. I decided to give pvp another chance, but it is not fun being destroyed by a pre-made. If new players have a horrible experience they won’t come back….
When is this going to be fixed?
As far as I know favour can only be earned by guild groups now, so it seems solo players can’t contribute favour to the guild, which is a real shame.
What happens in sPVP if you have a one-time only track selected which fills up, and you forget to select a new track?
In the old system as a solo player we could contribute influence to any guild we represented, now we contribute nothing as a solo player. The only way we can earn favour is in groups.
Everyone should be able to play the game the way they enjoy it, and not forced to go through the hassle of organising group events or pre-made pvp teams if they want to contribute to a guild.

Why not let 1-2 player guilds earn favour and have a guild hall? It does not affect any one else! Let everyone play GW2 the way they enjoy.
Even in larger guilds, not everyone wants to spend time forming pre-made teams, some like solo queueing in pvp, or solo roaming in WvW and still want to be able contribute favour to a guild.

Everyone should be aloud to play GW2 how they want, and not be forced to for example form pre-made teams in order to earn favour in PVP. I agree that 1-2 player guilds should still have a means to earn favour without having to find groups. After all it has no impact on the rest of us, so why not.
Reduced cost home portal and gathering tools.
I already had the digital deluxe upgrade and just bought another for 500 gems. I received two emails, one email said “Here are the items you purchased.” but was empty! The second email had: Legacy Armour, 18 slot bag, 10 XP boosters.
But no rank points, influence, banker golem or rytlock (I already have wolf elite). Maybe this is a bug? (I tried re-logging)
because they go into the general inventory/bank i feel i either need to make this back piece now to free up the space, or chuck the parts out and never make it at all.

I want to do the LS on all of my level 80’s and possibly make the back pieces at some point, but the space it’s taking up in my inventory is getting to be obscene.
I completely agree, I now have 7 more a/c bound items cluttering up my bank, why can’t new collection space be created for them? I have already spent time doing the scavenger hunt for all the items so don’t want to throw them away, and don’t have the gold to craft it yet. This is the one thing that spoils the living story for me.
Is anet just trying to sell us more bank space????
As 33% of people do not want Skyhammer removed from Solo Queue, a better option would be to let us “blacklist” one map (like in WoW). Giving people the choice of which map (if any) they want to block.
Today’s patch may have fixed it:
“Fixed a bug that caused Mesmer clones to receive rune bonuses from their master.”
A blacklist will make that map deserted.
Might as well just delete the map.
True, that could happen; at least a black list lets us choose which maps we play.
If engi’s like the map then maybe we will end up with 5 engi vs 5 engi in Skyhammer, (if everyone else black lists it) – it would be like pinball
Some good points.
Reducing the cannon damage/radius and allowing it to be dodged would improve things, but I would prefer to be able to skip that map altogether, and fight on maps where it is more about combat skill.
I sympathise with you Marcos.
ArenaNet are making a lot of positive changes to the game in the next patch, but they really need to let us “black list” 1 or 2 spvp maps (just like we can in WoW).
Forcing people to play maps they hate, just results in them leaving the match resulting in 4 vs 5 or even quitting spvp altogether. A black list is better than removing Skyhammer altogether as it allows those who like the map to continue playing it.
I had the same problem, but fixed it by turning off the 3d option for gw2 in the graphics card control panel itself.
