Shortened Version: Bloodthirsty Immortal Outcasts is a mid-sized PvX guild on Sea of Sorrows. We are primarily based in North America but have Oceanic players, all are welcome. We have players that have played since the beginning, and brand new players. We have a guild website and Teamspeak. Message me in game or leave me a mail as Sisho for an invite, leave a reply here, or apply on http://bio.shivtr.com/ !
Bloodthirsty Immortal Outcasts is a guild for Guild Wars 2 that refuses to focus on any one aspect of the game. We will be playing to its absolute fullest, having major influence in all areas of our world. We hail all the way back from Guild Wars with many of our members and many of us have been playing Guild Wars 2 since the beginning. Our guild will push progressively through PVE content, and intends on being a force to be reckoned with in WvW.
We are an 18+ only guild although special exceptions can be made for younger but more mature members. We do not and will not tolerate immaturity or people that are not willing to contribute something to the guild. The entire point of being in a guild is to play as a group- to be part of something bigger than yourself! We strive to make sure everyone has a place in everything we do and that no one has to worry about the guild not doing its part organizing events and staying active. We are a NA guild, however, there are a lot of us that tend to be online at any one time. EU and Oceanic players are always welcome!
We make use of a varied officer system that allows us to accomplish all the things we intend to do. We have a Leader, Co-Leader, and will also have 3 WvW Officers, 2 PvE Officers, and a single Structured PvP Officer. Making use of this system, we can ensure that if our guild members want to do something they can just talk to the corresponding officer who can organize an event to do! Now, remember, all of our officer slots are not yet filled, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to lead the Bloodthirsty Immortal Outcasts into battle, feel free to come apply! You can reach me in game or leave me a mail at Sisho for an invite, leave a reply here, or feel free to apply on the website at http://bio.shivtr.com/ !
We are overall a medium sized guild just getting ready to get into guild missions. Come help us build this guild up even larger, able to accomplish guild missions with little effort on a weekly basis, join us in Fractals and dungeons on a regular basis, join us in daily World Boss runs, or come rough it up in WvW! We also have a Teamspeak so our members can keep up easily during events, dungeons and WvW easily.

Hey all—
I was a huge fan of GW1 and build many classes and farmed and ran people through the story. Just recently purchased GW2 and am excited to dive into the next chapter.Unfortunately, I don’t have anymore friends still playing to give me the low-down on the new loot and armors and things like that. I’ll try contacting some people from the list once I get going a bit.
I am still in the process of downloading everything. Before I start, however, is there a specific server I should try to access for mostly PvE with some PvP players on it? I am usually available mornings (EST) and late evening.
I like to play with adults, and those that are 420 friendly especially haha
Honestly it is hard to go wrong with server choice. The only thing server choice truly impacts is World vs World. Otherwise you are allowed to guest onto another server anytime you want. Personally I’ve been on Sea of Sorrows since a couple months after launch and it is generally a great server. I think the only server you might avoid for sure is Piken Square. I can’t remember for sure but I believe that is the unofficial Roleplaying server. The servers generally have a large mixture of all players really, and when out in the zones playing people are merged from different servers to give a more populated feeling so like I said, server is not a huge choice except for WvW

Well considering I have been using it in Fractals as of last night I think I’m doing quite well. Like I already said above I am frequently the last person alive in a group if things are going badly and I can still finish much of the time. I did read the links, and the build is of no interest to me. It is completely out of my play style and would do more harm than good overall.
As far as it being torn to shreds, I didn’t ask for an actual analysis of my build and why it is good or bad. All I asked for, which I was pretty clear on, is tweaks and good sigils, possible gear changes and the like. While I realize it is the nature of forums, there is no point in replying to my thread with irrelevant suggestions.

Here all you need to know about S/F Elementalist in dungeon/fractals. Its on of the two best build of the PvE Elementalist.
No offense but as I said above. I am very comfortable as an Elementalist and my build and I am not in need of a full build. I just want tweaks from someone with experience. I have 0 interest in builds for throwing stupid amounts of damage out. I want the build I already have, a hybrid, solid damage output, high survivability build.

(edited by Sisho.5431)
Alright so I’m not looking to change the fundamental essence of my build, but advice on some slight tweaks here and there to optimize the build would be much appreciated. I pretty much made this build from scratch and it has been wonderful for me so far, but I do honestly feel like I could get a bit more out of it.
This build I use for everything but I mostly want advice for Fractals/Dungeons I’d say. So after looking at the build you’ll notice a few things about it. It keeps regeneration on me literally all the time pretty much, and applies it to allies fairly often, and every time it does it removes a condition from myself/allies. It has solid damage and fairly good critical chance/damage plus easy access to fury very often (I switch in and out of attunements a LOT during combat to keep buffing myself and allies). I also have vigor most of the time and recharge endurance faster with my scepter so I can dodge far far more than normal. So yeah overall it is a very Hybrid build that I feel is solid all around or at least that’s what I’m going for. I know from experience the build is solid since I am very often the last one alive in a Fractal and even able to finish a fight alone.
The things I would absolutely love advice on are what Sigils do you think would be best? Also should I stick with Berserker weapons and jewelry or should I use Celestial on those as well? If you think a trait change might help make suggestions. I may change a trait or two on good advice but I will most likely not change much there.

It’s not exclusive because the event is still in progress lol. Sure they are by far easier to get than the last few living story weapons, but by this festival time next year, I bet there will be less than half of what there will be by the end of this festival.
Honestly with all the complaining people about drop rates of them, I don’t really want to hear the other end of the pole either. The drop rate is fairly fair for players that play for hours on end, and for casual players getting one is not out of the question but they might still manage (those without globs of gold that is). Personally I’ve played a pretty good chunk so far and have two weapons, this is after opening roughly 1000 coffers, which from what I understand is pretty lucky.

Farm underwater with a trident or get a good D/D build….Ele’s with Scepter anything or Staff, while having some alright AOE’s, cast far to slow and typically can’t tag more than one or two enemies typically, while D/D has plenty of rapid firing AOE/Cone attacks.
As far as builds and such go…well it depends, if you are solo farming you probably want to bring some decent survival gear with some power on it, like Knight’s, or Valkyrie, something in that general area with some toughness on it. If you want some extra survivability bring some cantrips and be traited into water to give your cantrips crazy good buffs. If you want more damage use the Arcane utilities, they always crit and do pretty good damage with enough power, Arcane Wave being a lovely AOE with instant cast (even if you are knocked down or casting another spell). Personally I like to farm underwater, as Elementalists get crazy amounts of CC underwater, as well as massive damage spikes while in water attunement.
If you are running with a zerg though, feel free to toss on some MF gear, or Beserkers or something along those lines, whatever floats your fancy. With D/D you’ll be able to move around quickly and spam AOEs like crazy, making it far easier to tag.
Trait wise…honestly it just depends on what you go with, same with sigils and runes. You see a lot of the 0/10/0/30/30 builds, which are really good builds overall typically. Biggest advice though like I said above, don’t bring a scepter or staff…they are just way to slow to effectively tag while Warriors, Guardians and the like run around spamming rapid fire, high damage AOEs.

Yeah, the guy from Anet states its okay to recycle, but he also mentions the time taken versus the reward. To remake a character and get it to the Southsun dungeon would take…oh roughly 30-45 minutes I would guess. However, to get to level 10 personal story (where you get the black lion key) would take a minimum of a couple hours…and that’s if you are good at the game as well. Not to mention, you really don’t get anything worth gold out of the black lion chests, pretty much everything is soulbound/account bound almost, with rare exceptions like the bags of coins and such which hardly ever give any significant amount.
As to the topic on hand, I feel like they should have just made it where you have to be level 80 to get the reward after the first time or something along those lines. I mean sure, allow people once a day (for those that don’t have level 80s) to get the reward, but let people that have legitimate level 80s who have put 60+ hours into it (unless they crafted to 80 lol). That’s just my thoughts though, I could care less, as it is just one thing less that I have to worry about doing every single day.
Just make it lvl 10 min to enter the dungeon and that will stop that old exploit trick,not fair punishing all players just because few people were exploiting this );
I suppose minimum level 10 would work as well even, but I do agree that it is ridiculous to punish everyone because a small percentage of the population were “exploiting” it.

Yeah, the funniest part is that my Mesmer is a Norn of the largest size and stature, so I definitely feel all other Norn’s pain lol! Norn and Charr are at a definitely disadvantage in JP (My main is an Asuran so it is super easy on him). This is why I feel good about doing the portals especially, because I know just how difficult they can be on some larger characters.
@Blackmoon: You have to realize though, not everybody has the coordination or skills to do this either, coupled with very large characters it becomes even more difficult. Personally I have 0 difficulty with any jumping puzzles, even the Mad King Tower (Which was a definite pain lol), but I do know that not everybody is me, people have limits.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Yeah my mesmer is parked at that jumping puzzle at the moment for people that need it lol. Thought it was not me specifically, you’re welcome! Of course people that tip are always nice too, even if I don’t expect it lol.

So if we find a hacker from SoS, does that mean the whole SoS server hacks? or if they capitalize on the hacker’s distraction, does that make them a bad server? … not really. Best you could do is just report it.
Don’t generalize and pick out one person/guild for their actions because every server has their own hacker/glitcher/oppurtunist/etc.
Here’s a pic of an SoS ranger from guild Elite Ones [LeeT] having invulnerability for like 2 min straight until we just gave up haha =)
Yeah…the guy is just standing right next to our garrison. The only blame to lay here is on Anet for not catching that one spot where they can be attacked but still have invulnerability lol.

[NA][PvX][Sea of Sorrows] Bloodthirsty Immortal Outcasts (BIO) Recruiting 18+
Guild Description
Bloodthisty Immortal Outcasts is a guild for Guild Wars 2 that will not focus on any one aspect, unlike other guilds that try to focus on the entire game, we will be focused on playing the entire game to its absolute fullest, and having a lot of influence in all aspects. With our officer system, we can ensure that everybody has somebody they can speak with about the portion of the game they enjoy playing, and nobody is left out! We also ran a guild in Guild Wars, known as Bring It On, so our guild members are well versed in the Guild Wars world. Our guild will be in all the dungeons of PvE, play the structured PvP with various teams of people, as many as we can take every time, and in WvW we fully intend to be a force to be reckoned with!
We are an 18+ Only guild, though special exceptions can and will be made for more mature members, under high criticism though. As a guild we are very friendly and fun loving, and always willing to help out new players!
On top of new recruits we are also looking to fill in a few of our remaining officers position, including WvW officers and a sPvP officer!

Thieves will already be getting a WvW “nerf” with the next patch in a few days that will introduce Anti-Stealth Field traps that can be used in WvW. Don’t be such a glass cannon and they won’t spike you…if you can’t find them in stealth, carry some AOE around with you and use it where you think they are, all classes have it, some just better than others. No class is “best” in this game right now, I suggest playing each class to actually have a grasp on how to fight that class.

Nope, I bought 2800 gems a couple days before for 21g, bought 10 keys when the event started, got a ghastly rifle skin, sold it for 7ish gold, then bought a mad king’s outfit for the hell of it, sold my remaining gems and still got like 10g back lol. What Drevin said. Also, if you don’t want your character in the shot use /sleep to try to get a better picture. It won’t always get them off screen completely but it works well most of the time.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
If they are already in a party it will not give you that option. Also it bugs sometimes and doesn’t work, but typically it is the first thing that makes it not show. You can also hit P to open the little party invite box to join on another party or invite someone not in a party. When you try to invite someone in a party this way it will let you know if they are already in a party.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Well then Mesmer is probably your class if you want all of that in one. You can just use a straight damage build (or close to it) on a Mesmer but just use a shatter mesmer build or something similar that makes good use of illusions, most of the time players/NPCs hit your clones and not you, making you far more survivable. They are fun in PvP as well lol, though I can say I hate when I’m against another one XD
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Well Mesmer is very versatile build wise, but it has a fairly high learning curve. It is a fun class for sure, if you think you’re up for learning it. Very hard to bring down if you are using illusions.
Ranger is great fun in my opinion as well, and has some pretty good variations in viable builds. They are also pretty durable as well for the most part, and their pet being able to revive them while downed is nice.
Guardian is a tank in normal MMO terms, but they are pretty kitten tough when they spec into it. They get some decent heals (nothing amazing, but then, no class gets any amazing party heals), but they are great at protecting allies from taking the damage in the first place with their various walls and barriers. They can also do fair damage (Not as much as a thief or warrior but still great damage nevertheless)
All in all those three classes can all be fun, but I’m not going to go into specifics for each one unless there is one you are leaning towards.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Cursed shore and Malchor’s Leap are the only places to get level karma gear. You can look at the dungeon armors as another level 80 exotic alternative. There are at least 2/3 dungeons I know of off the top of my head with the stats you are looking for.
This is a list of the level 80 armors in Orr at least.
http://dulfy.net/2012/09/08/gw2-templegod-karma-armor-sets/#1
Sorry to say but you are right that there is no armor with the stats you seek at any of these vendors. So yeah I suggest dungeons if you are looking to save money, otherwise Beserker medium armor only costs 2g per piece
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
There is not, best you can do is buy a set of condition damage armor and add Magic Find runes. The only base Magic find armors/weapons/accessories are all Power/Precision/Magic Find.
Hopefully they’ll introduce something like this in a later patch or expansion, I was pretty miffed about this at first too, but then I ended up switching my Elementalist build anyway so in the end it didn’t matter much.

Yeah the uphill battle is very difficult, but I can say I’ve had some pretty fun battles uphill the past couple weeks since our oceanics aren’t quite as strong as the higher up servers. We have decent oceanic presence, enough to hold tier 3 pretty easy, but tier 2 is incredibly difficult with just the oceanics we have. I honestly wish we could balance the oceanics, but what will be will be I suppose, it is all part of the game. Either way good luck getting your stuff back tonight to you guys, and DB as well.
(I’ll be honest, it really truly isn’t that much fun to play at this time of day when your server holds almost everything, and there isn’t much point either if you are looking for some offense or for exp/karma since there isn’t much up for grab lol)
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
sigh The whole “People can’t prevent cap while in stealth” seems to be a common misconception all around. Players can most certainly prevent cap while in stealth. Now whether this is a bug or completely intended nobody knows since Anet hasn’t responded, but you can see this discussion in the thread posted below, not to mention I’ve seen thieves do it as well.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Thiefs-stealth-and-capping/first#post336841
I believe the reason people think this is because it has no effect in sPvP, but we are talking WvW here you guys.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
DB wants second so bad that they fought SM away from TC and then basically handed it to CD twenty minutes later. Impressive feat of mediocrity, to be sure.
Please refrain from using this kind of talk in this thread. This thread is for discussing the fight in a civil manner, not for accusing each other of what their doing.
This fight has been really fun so far, and I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve spent in WvW so far this week, much more than our previous 2 matches. You guys in DB and TC have put up some pretty awesome fights so far as well. TC, you guys could probably be better, you seem to have the numbers, just need some awesome coordination.
No idea what happened this morning exactly, all I know is in less than a couple hours CD flipped the score around to be dominating (potential points currently +520). I assume that DB and TC just don’t have many people on right now, but awesome job CD lol.

This was a fun incident.
We had a Thief that was runing around supply camp spamming stealth. We couldn’t catch him because he timed his Cloak and Dagger skill perfectly to keep stealth up 90% of the time. And while under stealth he/she prevented us from capping supplie camp for around 5 minutes.
What do you think? Fair game?
Id love to know what class you play. BTW 90% of the time is bit on an exaggeration. 1st off stealth on last max 4sec, unless ur in shadow refuge. but who wants to stay in that, it 100% obvious where u are and all that has to hapkitten AOE in the middle of it. Also after coming outta stealth there is a debuff called “revealed” that prevents you from going back in stealth for anywhere from 1-3+ seconds. SO, basically its impossible to be under that percentage of the time. Take it from me, I play a full bore. non dpsing thief lol.
Lol I hate to tell you this but 90% is NOT an exaggeration. I have a guild member that has learned a few tricks and can easily do this, while still keeping a decent damage output (Not amazing, just decent). Sorry to say but you should look in to more options, it is entirely possible to keep fairly long stealths up on a thief if you use the right skills together (hint)
Oh yeah, he can keep a full party of 5 stealthed like this as well, so this isn’t even counting self-only stealths.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Licht is correct, it is just the default superior rune that your guy has in PvP. It doesn’t matter that you’re in LA, it is a “bug”? Not really sure if they meant it or not so you can tell what PvP rune you have on even when not in PvP or what but yeah.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
You guys are all technically wrong in different ways.
If a rare has a .02% chance to drop, with 100% magic find it becomes a .04% chance to drop. It will not increase the amount of drops, nor will it make it far easier to get rares, it just gives a better chance. It does not “technically” increase the amount of drops you get, but it increases the chance of it being dropped. I think Ninja seems to get it, just didn’t describe it well in his first post. If you are an unlucky person, do not use magic find, as the increase is not substantial enough to overcome bad luck. Max magic find is over 200% I know, you can get the sigil on a weapon that brings you up to 15% with a full 25 stacks, armor bonus is 18%, and runes can bring you up another 70ish% (Don’t feel like looking it up right now), and jewelry is another 35%, then omnomberry bars is another 30%. You can also get the 50% MF buff from the gem store as well (Or black lion chests).
