It doesn’t, that is unless the game in question has culling issues that cause characters to not render for several minutes.
If you can’t understand why the portal is unbalanced because of this, I have nothing more to explain. Until Anet can figure out a way to handle the culling issues, the portal needs limits, which can later be restored to how it is now.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Because it is so obviously unbalanced? What do I care if it helps my team win and that we’ve used it before? That doesn’t make a skill balanced. It all comes down to balance. I don’t care if everyone CAN do it, that doesn’t create balance between classes.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Yes, both sides being able to us it must obviously mean that it is balanced! That must explain why they nerfed Pistol Whip on the thief, only one side must have been able to use it!
That argument is completely invalid. Just because anybody can use it does not make it balanced. How the heck do you guys think MMOs balance their games? No freaking duh anybody can use anything in the game they want! That doesn’t make it balanced.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Now obviously you’ll have a ton of people in here spamming about how it isn’t OP, and how it isn’t broken.
The fact is everyone, he has a point actually. A skill like this should have SOME kind of limit. Whether it be people can only use it once every couple of seconds, or that only 5 can use it before it disappears, that it can be destroyable, or even that killing the mesmer destroys it.
Call it being butthurt if you want, but our server has also used mesmer portals to port armies and golems around quickly and hence this means using the rendering issue that goes along with it.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
You are also forgetting Elementalist completely. They can actually be faster than a thief when specced correctly with Ride the Lightning (Yes it can be faster than spamming Infiltrator’s Arrow and Heartseeker). They also have 3 stun breaker utilities, one of which makes them invulnerable for a few seconds, and they have a heal that can remove any condition (including immobilize) for a straight 6 seconds. They make amazing scouts, and if I’m not the one on the siege or protecting it, then I’m out scouting for it. Also I’m an Asuran, easy to miss lol.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
You can’t say TC is completely out really. Sure they’re down a bit from second, but last night DB was bottom of the potential points by like 100-150 under TC, who was going toe to toe with us.

This is the Shadow Armor in crafting. You can get the recipe in Snowden Drifts 15-25 Norn zone, from the heart event karma vendor just above Jormabakke Stead. You can also get the individual pieces from Karma vendors throughout Snowden Drifts. I have it on my Mesmer, looks awesome on him (He’s a giant Norn lol)
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
It means you are wearing 6 of that specific rune, therefore the other 4 are useless and doing nothing. The first number is how many of a particular rune you have equipped, the second number is the max you can have of that rune for it to do anything. (It also counts PvP runes if you are using superior ones so later on you might possibly see 12/6)
Pretty much with minor runes you could put two of a specific rune onto two pieces of armor and get the two buffs it grants.

I sincerely hope the above post is a joke or troll post, otherwise I don’t know who Attua is speaking for. The Synergy Alliance understands that it happens, and we know that most generally it is not something coordinated by the server, but instead by an individual or more that just have no respect for real gaming. Your apology is accepted, we’ll just have to get the orbs back sometime tonight. Good luck hanging on to them!

The game is worldwide…no matter what time it is done at, there will be a lot of people online

Actually, the fireball can indeed travel a bit beyond its limits, especially on higher ground. Even on even ground it goes just a smidge further than 1200 and the AOE is roughly 100-200ish radius? Hence its effective range is like 1400.
Oh, and I have tested this a little with friends in PvP. Hard to get exact numbers in GW2 but the above numbers are pretty close at least.

He means that it doesn’t matter which you use, because they all have the same chances.

Don’t just give the guy an opinion with no facts about the thing. I do know that Shivtr has a free calender/event planner thing, the events you schedule come up on the calendar and you can change the picture for the event and give different types of events different colors and such.
Either way here are the feature lists for the two major guild site hosts.

Yeah it is actually about level 36 roughly, I might be off one or two levels there, but I’ve played through that far twice already. Trust me you’ll know for sure when it comes time. They make it quite clear to you that whoever you choose on that mission with be your organization, permanently.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
That seems to be the problem with most people, but there have been reports that some people can still do it every 4-5 hours like before…so yeaaaah. Personally I am only able to do it once a day after daily reset.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
You cannot quite join as many as you want at this time. There is a limit on how many guilds you can be in at once right now. I think it is 4? I could be mistaken about that part but I do know for sure there is a limit in place currently.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
There will be more guild upgrades added when they do the big guild update patch in the distant future. That is where it will be nice to already have the level 5 done and ready for new upgrades.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
The ore price went back up because of the bugs causing Ori spawns to not respawn at the proper times (Dunno if that was intentional or not but yeah).
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Yeah it is extremely easy for Elementalists to keep perma swiftness going, and they can even do it for an entire group as well using their Staff skill 4 in air, and then the staff skill 5 and using Arcane Wave inside it to do combo area swiftness. You have to have a lot of points in Arcane though to increase boon duration to keep it perma though.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
On our server it fixed itself with the dailies and is working properly now as far as I know.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Yeah my guild has had the queue issue as well, and while we’re in queue other members are saying we’re outmanned! I believe Anet has lied about having fixed the issue where if one team gets more people in, it counts as full for everyone on that map.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Actually, Elementalist are still faster…Ride the Lightning (Dagger off-hand) is the fastest movement skill in the game, and sends you shooting forward a fair distance (Make sure you are targeting an enemy far away in front of you so you don’t actually hit it or be targeting no enemy). It took me a fair amount of practice to get it down, but my Ele has the permanent passive 25%, plus Ride the Lightning every 12 seconds I think it is? (20% Air CD Reduction)
I have a friend who is a thief and even when he is running all out speed build for heartseek or infiltrator arrow either one, I still stay just a short ways ahead of him.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
No i disagree
I read about an invisible man and a mesmer casting portal from stealth
How is a mesmer in stealth and how is he invisible? I dont get it
The torch stealth is what 3 sec? so how much ground can a mesmer gain in 3 sec of invis
This seems pretty blown out of proportionI have seen mesmer use portals and I have always seen the mesmer so I guess I need that explained to me
And talking about making it castible requires a whole change to the first cast and the second cast as well. If it is channeled or has a cast time you would have to increase the length of time the first portal stays open as well.
Easiest fix is to make the portal an object and have it killable imo
With the help of a thief a mesmer can easily be stealthed more than long enough to get somewhere he needs to be. In fact the stealth will last long than you can run for your portal range (Your portal skill will be out of range before you come out of stealth that is).

Sounds like you went into CD this morning when Krommickon (One of the Synergy Alliances oceanic commanders, and a darn good one at that) was in there. It sounds like the right time I saw him in there earlier, and he is excellent at keeping things together and getting things done. Unfortunately the moment he left WvW with his guys it just fell apart and our score suddenly dropped. People that try to give the Synergy Alliance crap about not being good need to get their eyes checked or something. Whenever our guys come into a borderlands, we get our stuff back, quickly and efficiently, and we hold onto it for the duration that we remain there. It really seems like there just aren’t nearly as many guilds or players outside our alliance anymore aside from like MERC that do WvW. Thanks again free transfers!
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
It is a 50% chance or something like that to fully rez on killing an enemy, there is a trait in your last line that makes it 100%
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Are you a warrior? Might it be your number 3 downed skill doing it?
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
They are soul bound on use. Saw sunrise for myself earlier, right before the guy equipped it.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
A guy on our server finished the world’s second sunrise just earlier, got a screenshot of him and everything. Said he spent roughly 400g and it took him 260 tries to get the 77 clovers (about 550k karma).
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
I can say getting to see Sunrise was pretty bad kitten Someone on our server finished it just moments ago and was showing it off. Pretty impressive particle effects, and his footsteps also left white spots on the ground wherever he walked. Got a couple screenshots as well, but I didn’t have my fraps installed so no video >.<
Of course the screenshot doesn’t do it proper justice, but it is still awesome to see. The guy said he spent roughly 400g and it took him 260 tries to get the 77 mystic clovers. So he spent at least 550k karma. Not sure what the average is, combining numbers for the other legendaries that have been made would be nice. If anybody else knows the numbers for the other legendaries made, I’d like to know the karma needed on average, and what the best and worst case scenario is.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Did you read my post at all? I said you guys probably did NOT have an alliance, but just refrained from attacking each other. I said it was a valid strategy also. Please read before posting.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
If you don’t like the looks then no, it is not worth it. You are better off buying crafted level 60 armor or any other level 60 off the AH. Rares under level 70 are less than 20 silver each, FAR cheaper than cultural armor lol. So yeah, unless you want the look, don’t do it. The stats are the same as any other rare you can get.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Lol you guys think that just because you attacked IoJ one night, or even every night it doesn’t mean you haven’t teamed up on us? Here, I posted a screenshot the other day, I’ll post it again here. This is from Sunday night, a little after prime time. It is VERY obvious that while you guys might not have some official alliance, that you were quite obviously only attacking and taking our stuff before bothering with each other. Yeah I know it is part of the game and a valid strategy and all that, but don’t pretend like you guys have not been teaming up on us, even if you don’t have an “alliance”. Don’t make yourselves look like fools.
Put simply, like others have said, we have lost a LOT of people due to world transfers. In Tier 3 we absolutely DOMINATED, even during prime time we held up perfectly, but somehow I expect this time when we drop to T3 we will be fighting for our lives. Why? Because we have lost a tremendous amount of WvWers. Sure our server pop is nice and full, but we have lost our WvW people, which is what matters for this. It wasn’t until JQ started beating us even a little bit, and then as the week went by it got worse and worse, and now this week we can’t do anything at all. Either they all left, or they just aren’t playing, which I doubt if they were real WvWers.
To all of CD as well, or I should say everyone that reads this that transferred off to a higher ranked server last week or even this week from CD. You are the ones I’m disappointed in. I’m not disappointed in our server currently, because we are trying as hard as we can, but we have lost so much coverage we once had. We DID have an excellent night crew, but now it is down to just our alliance oceanics essentially and we DID have morning coverage as well, don’t even know what happened to it. I hope you guys that transferred off CD are enjoying your ridiculously long queue times just for a little follow the guild zergs around.

Lol so because it is not a one night game and because it was just one night does not make my point invalid. Sounds like some people are getting a little butthurt to me. Our guys were able to hold off some of what are supposed to be the best guilds on your server, and we did it when both servers were at their prime on a Friday Night. You guys take score into account too much, learn to enjoy the game. You guys beating us overall doesn’t mean squat to me lol. I understand people like you can’t stand the thought of losing, but we of Synergy accept the fact that it is just a game and enjoy it. Just because we don’t have 24/7 coverage doesn’t make your server “superior.” It just means you will win in score because we cannot stop you all the time.
It seems people aren’t getting the REAL point.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
(edited by Sisho.5431)
There is no hidden cool down, it is a flat 60% chance per skill hit to bleed (superior one anyway) Not sure how long the bleed is exactly, only 2-3 seconds I think, haven’t tested that part much though.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Lol we’ve got nothing to prove to them, Friday night in our borderlands there were a lot of people from Team Legacy as well as RUIN and we took care of them no problem that night.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Alright well I threw the traits and skills set up into this calculator to see: http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#MzsMM9cobTvMobTvM0x0xamsacsqV
(First air major trait can be swapped out for 20% CD reduction on Glyphs which is nice for the elemental). Essentially your crits can stack vulnerability pretty well, since most attacks in air attunement with those weapons are low CD and fire pretty rapidly (Number 2 and 3 can be fired while channeling number 1 even), and all your cantrips can be activated while channeling as well. The focus provides incredible survivability (Especially against ranged enemies). Mostly you will stay in air attunement for all your damage, flipping to earth for protection (Elemental Attunement trait) on top of some extra conditions, a blind and even more survivability skills. Then if you or your party is in need of a heal, switching to water automatically gives everyone nearby regeneration, and your water trident (number 3) does a nice AOE 2k heal as well as a bit of damage on enemies. You also have access to a nice chill and daze while in water, so if you have to pop a heal, you might as well hit that chill as well. This build requires little actual aiming aside from your heal, so it is really easy to use even in the heat of combat, just make good use of your attunement swapping buffs since they help the entire part.
Gear wise it is really personal preference. My gear is a mixture. All my accessories are ruby (power/precision/crit dmg) Then my actual armor is a mixture of a few pieces with power/precision/toughness, and my chest and leggings with precision/vitality/healing. I have yet to actual decide on runes, but I will probably go with something in the toughness, vitality or healing power area.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Elementalist…Necromancer and Mesmer can do good damage, but they are way better support in dungeons from my experiences.
On my level 80 Elementalist I actually have a DPS crit build with support built in. I only hit for roughly 2.5k damage crits while in air (Trait points are all in air and water with 10 in arcane) but I can also heal for upwards of 2k using a scepter/focus build. You also have insane survivability with these traits, weapon set and using cantrips for your utility skills. I strongly advise you do NOT go glass cannon with power and precision, you WILL be one hit in dungeons. A hybrid damage/support build is best, and Elementalists do it amazingly well when built correctly. If you would like my full build I can list it off for you including everything I’m using.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
I could just say you guys are winning, but here’s a screenshot lol. Just got home myself so no clue what’s going on aside from score.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Yeah, I’d also like to direct attention to this screenshot attached here.
Man up IoJ, attack ET like men and don’t just split the map with them. Not accusing you of making an alliance with them or anything, but seriously, you complained about us doing stuff like this at the beginning of the match and only attacking you guys while ET was attacking you as well. Well guess what here is flat out proof that you guys are only attacking us while ET is. I checkout out every border and battlegrounds at one point to see how things were, and surprise, everyone told me we were being hit by both IoJ and ET at the same time everywhere. Again, not saying you guys organized this or anything, but how is attacking a server with less than 20 people in each map any fun at all? I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t find attacking doors and walls that fun, but if that’s how you guys get your enjoyment, go for it I guess. I guess I’ll just wait until prime time again and actually have some real fights and real fun not just attacking empty stuff.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Hmmm, I can say Crystal Desert has a pretty good balance. We have less than an hour queue times (except right after resets), and our PvE is quite busy most of the time, I always see people looking for dungeons.

See I knew it hadn’t been 30 minutes when mine wore off because I had eaten food at the same time (Yes the buffs do stack, they both show up, the food did not override the sharpening stone). Yeah I think it is a bug my friend, I had the same issue, good thing they are really cheap to make :P
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
actually sisho, they have enough people to retake their stuff… we took the whole map in 1 hour and had it all turned because of a massive coordination and group effort from the people on the server. combine 10 golems with a coordinated rush and we moved from spot to spot, taking things before the other two servers could get a coordinated defense up.
after taking everything, we moved back from the way we came to retake things that were lost, and eventually lost our momentum at the CD overlook keep with the second outer door at 10% again.
but, in reality, in about 30 minutes, both ioj and CD recaptured their points because they finally recoordinated.
yes, they seemed to have fewer players on at that exact moment, but in reality we were moving extremely quick with that large force.
in the end, it is going to be our advantage that we destroyed the keeps and towers across the map, took away all the upgrades, and now its going to be a hard time re-upgrading before the day crews log back on for the sunday brawls.
its been a fun night, and the tides didnt turn in EB until that point.
I can’t speak for IoJ but I already knew that we were capable of getting stuff back on CD. The night crew of our alliance was on a bit after that score screenshot was taken. The score had actually gotten worse before better. The thing is that it doesn’t matter if our guys roll in behind and claim some stuff, because damage is already done when the incoming points have been sitting like that for a couple hours already. I’m just saying ET’s night crew outweighs our own, and IoJ’s too it seems. Not complaining, I actually understand nightcapping is part of the game, I was just explaining the guy’s screenshot. It’s been a pretty good fight so far, but unfortunately half the time nobody outside our alliance during NA times will actually listen, and nobody seems to care to come into the TS3 server and actually coordinate as a force. In one or two borderlands we usually have a pretty good coordinated force, but we just can’t coordinate all the maps because of people unwilling to listen.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
There actually is an underwater cave. It is extremely difficult to find. I can’t remember the exact placement of the cave but if you swim around that general area (I think it is a little south of the POI) you will be looking for a cave that faces downward pretty much. It is very difficult to find as the entrance is covered by seaweed and such. You will have to keep a sharp eye out.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
The dev means that portals are not meant to bypass walls by glitching. There are ways for a mesmer to get over a wall without it ever having been broken. That is what he means.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Waypoint costs scale based on your level and the distance away you are from them. Waypoints inside an area are pretty much set based on your level.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
^ Yeah, his silence is supposed to mean their nightcapping.
Leader and founder of [BIO] on Sea of Sorrows
Okay…so when changing a guild to another world, it is actually fairly simple.
As a Crystal Desert member I’d be happy to help you out here. So for one, the members you have on CD already have already been gaining influence, for the CD version of the guild only. Guilds are universal, and even one player in a server by themselves gains influence for the guild, but only on that server, and only people on that server gain spend the influence. So, you don’t have to disband the guild, or anything like that. Just switch worlds and have everyone else do the same, and you are good to go! You will lose all upgrades you have earned though and have to re-do them.
Also, if your guild is interested at all in WvW make sure to give the Synergy Alliance a look!
