The build evolved into 0/4/6/0/4 on the forum here. After Raiden started using it, it became the new standard I believe.

Just make sure you don’t use decoy when you have a Chaos Storm up, or are autoattacking with the staff, you’ll get revealed.

Hello Mesmers! I recently started to play a mesmer. Since I am looking for my next class to lv specially for spvp and WvWvW roaming I decided to give mesmer a try and I do not regret it at all. All I have been doing is practicing on tournaments and spvp. I recorded my first duels with the mesmer and here they are. Anyways guys I have never ever played a mesmer so feedback is greatly appreciated. I will start the leveling soon so I can start WvWvW roaming

Though I hate runners, I have to say the Sw/X + GS is a good build for escaping, probably the best actually cause pretty much nothing is going to catch you.

Just a few thoughts. Sw/Sh + GS allows INSANE mobility, which is awesome being a zerker when fights go bad. Final thrust does similar dmg to eviscerate (tho twice the CD). And flurry is a perfect 100b setup.

The first fight with the thief you should have died more than a dozen of times not sure what he was doing to be honest, my favourite part though was when you disengaged with sword2 managed to heal and then make sword 2 leap in time. nice video.

Not Chronix :P But yes I enjoy doing that so much. Disengage with number 2 on sword, heal! and get back to the fight or evade

What stats are you using? Apo? What runes?

I am using Apothecary Gear mixed with Dire ! Sometimes I use Dwaynas+undead, Krait+Centaur+Afflicted or full Undead. I usually try to stay around 3k armor, 1k heal, 1,500 Cond Damage and 20k Health!

I am currently taking into consideration to make a necromancer. I have been using it in spvp and like it. I have been running the staff, scepter/dagger rabbid build and I enjoy it. All I want to do is spvp and WvWvW roaming. What do you guys suggest? Mainly for 1vx, is it good? For example in this video all clips are 1v3+ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfBedYgahGc . Are necros really that good? Good mobility? Good defenses?I play bunker ranger and a zerk warrior, both used for the same porpuse WvWvW solo roaming and spvp.

You may think otherwise, but that does not make it wrong. That you managed to kill a few terrible players to say the least does not make a ranger viable.
Bear ranger, hb warrior, heartseeking spamming thief…. Not to mention the ele that well almost did nothing in ruins but eating your arrows.

I like rangers. I have always used a ranger on this game and I have builds for every occasion. Sure rangers might require good players to play them, but if you play them right they are much viable right now as of my opinion. I have been roaming a lot and that’s about the only thing I do…I have filmed a lot of good fights and they take forever to end. This is an entertainment video and it’s for those rangers who actually stick to the class no matter what ‘nerfs’ they get. I am a ranger and will always be one, I will always come up with a build that brings the ranger up to the top. Trust me a well done ranger build can beat any class/build in my opinion and experience.

I disagree. I have many hours of nothing but duels under my belt and because of that, I have increased my skill level against 1vs2 and 1vs3 situations. I have every class mechanic down due to duels. When I’m going 1vs2 in a Tournament and trying to take a node, I know when to back off and go elsewhere. I know my characters capabilities and other class capabilities due to duels. I can’t tell you how many times I have been challenged by a WvW zerger to a duel. 90% of the time they lose. There character skill level is below par. They have this ‘zerg’ mentality. When they are out in the open all by themselves, air to there back and nothing but hand/eye coordination they crack under the pressure.

As for Chronix and his video, he’s an excellent player. The opponents in the video I have no idea of there skill level.

Half of these people we’re afk and the other half was mostly just you picking on other rangers, I don’t think I really saw any actual duel gameplay and when it was it was like you versus a rifle warrior who just stood there facetanking you..

Also I think the only Afk one was the elementalist. All the others were talking in chat and I told them to fight me. As you can see all of them show they are not Afk by attacking me or just when I was about to finish them they casted an interrupt. Anyways I only did this video to show the damage of this build as I stated in the description.

As he said the video shows the damage of the build only. In an actual situation it will only work if you manage to somehow surprise the enemy after all they just need to wave around their weapons and the slight breeze will kill you with this build

He actually beat me -more- soundly in the subsequent duels after this, but that’s exciting for me, because someone who beats me in duels is an opportunity to refine my playstyle and learn as a ranger. …And then I soundly beat him for a bit, and then he came back with the power and signets build he’s using in that video and soundly beat me and that’s where we’re at. I’m heavily dodge-oriented, and one of the big things I’m working on is making each of my dodges count rather than just flinging dodges out randomly, which is a tricky habit to break but I’m doing well.

Oh, wait, I beat him once with his current build once I knew he was 30 BM and had to pay close attention to his pet. But he might’ve been lagging. We’ll see! All in all, I’m honored to know Chronix, because he’s a skilled ranger with a good heart and has really inspired a lot of development for my play as a ranger.

Here’s to wolf and snow leopard; they make the rockin’ world go ’round.
