Thanks for the response and tips guys. I’ll ask my friend as I’m not sure he has reached his 10 limit, or if he has other read mail from me in his inbox, which could be likely.
I’ll post back my results as soon as I have more info, cheers.
I mailed an exotic crafted greatsword to account: betterdays.1538 approximately 2-3 days ago and he never received it.
He is a real life friend of mine so I trust that it definitely wasn’t received by him. I tried to submit an in-game bug however the submit button remained grayed out no matter what I tried.
While I agree having extremely low level toons being able to farm level 80 content is going to increase botting (the loot might still be leel appropriate but they can sit in 1 zone 24/7 and get from 1-80 with zero effort), I think that there needs to be more zones for 80’s to visit to break the monotony of farming the same events over and over. Currently, even if I move to Malacor’s Reach I’ve noticed that I stop getting 80 loot and that is only 1 zone down.
Is no one else bothered that without the 20% reduction in CD trait that you’re simply standing there spamming 1 for 10 secs straight in PVE? I love the GS and have no issue with changing it to reduce retaliation uptime but I think the CD for WW needs to be reduced to 8 secs. This makes up for the reduced symbol damage from SoW with the new longer CD.
@ Brutality – I saw those other posts and completely agree. I ran a similar thing with my pally in wow where I was healed small amount and poisoned my enemies on block with a certain shield in TBC and I managed to defeat over 25 mobs using CD’s.
I’m just interested in the exact mechanics of the ICD for empowered might as if it gives might on each crit providing they happen with the same strike then that is just gold! It’s still good without, but I like to know these things lol
@ Brutality. No worries. I’m actually interested as it would certainly give more weight to wanting more opponenets to make altruistic healer even more effective so I’ll test it out and post the results back in this thread.

@ Brutality – In regards to the 1 sec ICD for might Empowered Might I was wondering what happens in a situation where I have 4 mobs and I crit them all with MB. Do I only get 1 of those crits out of the 4 proccing Empowered Might or do I get all 4 procs and then an ICD of 1 second?
Thanks in advance.
Try also using disabling shot on the SB, which evades, cripples AND snares while doing damage. With that ability alone I was able to solo champion mobs and eat a sandwich at the same time. Save your endurance when your ini is low and use disabling to evade back with your endurance is low.
I appreciate your attempt at suggesting stuff to improve the game, however I think that you’re going to be dissapointed in the main because you seem to want systems that GW2 is trying to break away from. E.g. 10 man raids, gear grinds, open world pvp that allows griefing.
I could go on about specifics but I really think that you need to re-evaluate what you think you’re going to get out of this game as contrary to your beliefs, a lot of people love this game and its systems.
Most games I play in have an even sspread of classes, with necromancer being the least represented. Does this mean that is the case for all of GW2? No, just my perception of what is going on in-game.
As stated, when Anet’s statistical data about the entire game shows class imbalance I’m sure they will look into it.
There is another thought too…perhaps people just like playing certain classes and others are unpopular…?
Summons and pets are just damage/support like regular attacks and spells are, but different. They keep class diversity and are part of a handful of variety of strategies.
This. I don’t find anything wrong with pet elements and think they add another dimension to combat – do I take out the player or the pet?!
And several classes have AoE downed heals. Sure having a 2 guardians makes you great at revive and stomp (providing no one has thought to bring along a boon strip or area invis) but that also makes them lack in other areas that more diverse teams can and should capitilise on.
This is the entire point of GW2 imo. You bring your setup and I bring mine and the winner is the one that can adapt to the other better.
For me I find support ele’s that rez and pop mist form worse…you can’t even damage them.
Anyone else noticing that the No. 2 hammer ability jumps you far further than your target, yet still does the damage at the correct location?
This happens a lot when I’m standing within the 130 range and I end up having to run back into melee. Very frustrating in PvP as it is not reliable as a gap closer half the time.
Go play tPvP if you want perfect games. sPvP is simply for fast pvp games with randoms and is supposed to be easily accessible, which it currently is.
Sure, it’s annoying when I can a last minute auto-rebalance, but it happens once a session max and that isn’t enough to warrant changing the current system.
I do agree the ‘play now’ button needs to weigh up the amount of games with less than 10 players and start to prioritise them until they have 5v5, and then look to topping up the other games.
Have to agree here. You’re prepared to help out the community but the moment someone talks to you, you point them to your stream.
Shameless self-promotion at its best.
I noticed in sPvP last night on my guardian that when I use my Shield of Absorption or the No.2 KB when downed that sometimes people are not being knocked back. I checked their boons and none of them had stability and there were less than 5 players in total.
Additionally, I’ve oticed that when I try to knock back a thief during their heartseeker spam that most of the time it doesn’t work either. Now I can only assume that this is because heartseeker had some sort of evade like te second part of pistol whip, yet neither tool tips relate this information.
Personally I see a ranged burst attack that evades as OP if that is the case, but that aside, the players really need clearer tooltips to better understand the class mechanics at play.
Hmm, since you’re going to test it, I hope you don’t mind, check if you still retain the guild emblem upgrade and guild armorsmith contract (and similar)? Personally, those are sort-of “guild social features” because it doesn’t give anything to the guild at all. But the conflict is that, those upgrades can only be bought with influence – which is server-bound.
_ (Yep the system is confusing)
Lol I was initerested in the guild emblem upgrade itself so that is the first thing I’ll test. I actually have no other upgrades so I can’t test the armoursmith one sorry.
While confusing at least the functionality is there to maintain the core of the guild no matter what server you go to =)
For the long explanation version:
Guilds are cross-server. However when it comes to “Influence” and “Upgrades”, these are server-based. Also, Influence earned by members goes to the “version” or “instance” of the guild where that member’s account has chosen as “Home server”.
Examples:
- Shael is on Isle of Janthir while you Sol is on Sea of Sorrows. Both of us are members of the guild “Guild Wars RuleZ [GW4ever]”
- When I earn influence, my influence goes to the version/instance of [GW4ever] in MY Home server which is IoJ
- When you earn influence, your influence goes to the version/instance of [GW4ever] in YOUR Home server which is SoS
- When [GW4ever] in IoJ buys a Guild Bank, only members with Home server of IoJ can use that Guild Bank. Members like you who are in SoS will have to buy your own Guild Bank.
To summarize:
- Guilds doesn’t have a “Home server” setting/flag
- Influence earned by members goes to instance/version of the guild of the “Home server OF the member”
- Upgrades bought by an instance/version of the guild stays in that server where it was bought – other members in other “Home servers” will not benefit from it
- Yes, guilds are cross-server – meaning, you can have members from as many servers as you want
- Guild chat is cross-server
- Guild roster is cross-server – so one guild can only have a maximum of 500 members regardless of instance/version of the guild.
So, if your GL transfers server, he will see an instance/version of the guild with 0 Influence and 0 upgrades. (Provided there are no other members in the server he transferred to that was playing there longer than him/her.)
I hope that’s clear. _
That answers every thing perfectly and thank you very much for explaining it. I want to try out another server for WvW for a couple of days and wanted to know what would happen to my guild and this clears it up.
Thanks again mate, really apprecaited!
The title asks it all.
Do guilds transfer to new home servers when the GL transfers?
If anyne knows and could tell me that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Its fine for having to deal with your mistakes, however generally the public can take care of that. If a person is vile enough in chat then most likely he/she will get a reputation within that community. With my experience at least in mmo’s communities for the different servers become tightly nit and usually don’t associate themselves with these people making it hard for that person to find friends, etc. Thus making the game not fun for that person because of the way he/she acted.
I completely agree that is the appropriate solution but that just simply doesn’t happen, I’m sorry. Time and again I create a separate chat pane without trade, area, map etc so that I’m not bombarded with nonsense and turn it on when I need it for LFG or similar. And it is no different in any MMO I’ve played. The problem is that these people are acting completely different on the internet than they would IRL. Ignore them all you want but they have no issue finding others to play with or pay $20 to server transfer and start again.
This just shouldn’t have to be the case and I’m glad that someone is taking an active stance for once saying that ‘no, this should not happen and if you act like a tool then you’re going to pay the price’.

Oh, I wasn’t banned.
Nevertheless the argument still stands. We are the problem, not Anet.

Ah but you see that’s it right there, you are having to adjust yourself to what others want. That’s fine, and I do agree with you. However they can’t possibly pay it forward if by some chance you say something stupid every once in a while?
Of course I adjust to what others want, that is life man! I hate pants but I wear them to work every day because I have to.
And of course I have outbreaks; but when I do I accept resposibility for my actions and take my punishmet knowing it was my own fault, even if it wasn’t 100% intentional.
Perhaps there are also plenty of people that didn’t report you, in essence ‘paying it forward’ and you just don’t know about them.
I’d much rather not have the trade chat vitriol that is present in other games in order to have a community that is well mannered, even if it is forced. Too long has the faceless world of the internet allowed people to get away saying things they would never conceive of saying to someone’s face.
That isn’t saying it is you doing those things and you’ve probably said something I wouldn’t consider bad. But you are blaming the wrong people in saying it’s Anets fault. We as a community have acted in such a way for so long now that now gaming companies have to have such strict terms of conduct to ensure courtesy…
This is a poor reflection on us, not Anet.

It’s amazing that you all want warnings about being rude when:
A – It should be common sense when you are being inappropriate; and
B – The terms of conduct clearly state the rules of the game.
Now I swear like an absolute trooper and find jokes at the expense of myself and others highly amusing, and I say things others would find distateful all the time. However I also respect that not everyone likes that and conduct myself in accordance with the stated terms a conditions when playing GW2. Thus far I have not received any bans and I’ve conversed with multitude of people and will continue to do so.
Perhaps a 3 day ban right off the bat will make you pay attention to said terms and conditions next time you play a new game, rather than just hitting the accept button.
If you feel that you’re beng targetted and don’t want to play the game then that’s also great!!! You’ll be saving the devs time answering these threads and they can devote more time to improving the game for the players that abide the rules.
Win/ win for me =)

Excellent post and it actually explained a few things that are happeing but I didn’t actually know why!
While I find the game playable I definitely feel that after the initial launch issues are resolved they need to address these, as you are right – In an action orienated combat game you really need to experience to be as smooth and precise as possible, especially a MMO as you already have latency to deal with.
