hi im a new player returning, my playstyle consists entirely of obsidian sanctum camping/dueling and roaming. after being away for 2 years, i cant find any action nor guilds in this playstyle. so is there any place/guild/server i can still find people who duel and roam? thanks

i was extremely disappointed to wait 8 months and only get a twilight-ish footstep and a glowing dot. for the effort of two legendaries, it should be very unique, not just a lazy “heres the fixed foosteps after 12 months, oh and a shiny dot, kthxbai” i mean they didnt even bother to fix the rest of the animation bugs, like mesmer throwing the greatsword on skill #2, etc etc etc

not only that, they need to nerf the drop rate of portals otherwise the recipe will be completely useless. right now to craft it with salsa at 20s each x50 would shoot you over 10g per portal. but portals are being sold on TP for about 30s each… thats a big difference to 10g.

it does an animation but doesnt port me anywhere.
also you need to nerf the drop rate to the portals, right now the price of a portal is going at about 30silver, but to craft the portal thats over 10gold worth of salsa because salsa is at 20s each and the recipe requires 50. So it’ll be great if you can fix the function and drop rate of the portals thanks, im interested to see where it ports me

First problem: In the gauntlet, first of all no matter what race you play, if you walk along the outside of the dome the camera angles are a beyond enraging. now, as I only have a massive max sized norn with a epic huge armor set, all I see is on my screen for almost the entire fight is 100% inside my armor and 0% of the aoe rings / boss.
The boss mechanics are completely fine, the difficulty fits its reward, all classes can beat them, good balance, etc. perfect right? Well yes but only that camera angle takes a dump on all these aspects and flushes it all down the toilet. I get that it’s intended to be a small ring to fight in, limited movement space. But why on earth do you also have to limit camera freedom along with it? Does not make any sense.

Suggestion: make the camera completely free and intangible with the dome roof so we don’t look at the insides of our bodies for the entire fight, and make the dome more transparent or just completely remove it and leave just the floor platform.

Another visual problem: AOE ring is camouflaged on the platform floor so much that you can barely see it, even less time to react to it once you spend a good while trying to outline where the AOE group starts/ends. And for colourblind people like my friend, its impossible to see it.

Suggestion: make the floor one solid colour that will contrast against the red AOE rings.

Death annoyance problem: so when you fail, you die on the walkway platform, and theres not always people to res you. Armor damage? fine. but making us run back from the waypoint? whats the point of that? its a complete waste of time/waypoint gold and completely defeats the incentive to complete a hard boss. you know you got a problem when the time it takes to run back is longer than the actual boss fight.

Suggestion: take armor damage but no deaths, die inside the dome and get revived back on the platform alive but with armor damage, problem solved.

Zerg-Lag problem: farming zerg below the dome will lag most peoples game to absolute hell

Suggestion: honestly I don’t know what can be done except move the domes to a separate instance

Crowding problem: during peak hours, I usually have to wait 5-10 minutes before I get a turn for a 30 second fight, and if I fail, I gotta wait in line all over again. It gets boring extremely quick and completely kills the incentive and interest to complete the boss.

Suggestion: make the dome private instead of public so people don’t have to wait forever (making a mistake 5 seconds in the fight and dying, then waiting 10 minutes for another turn, its boring and a big turn off)

Last problem: boss bugs, 1-shot-kill skills are fine, some of the skill cast are very fast so it takes a few tries to memorize when to block/evade. But whats not fine is that when these super fast instant 1-shot-kill skills are randomized so you cannot memorize/predict. I certainly hope this is not intended because it removes the player skill and replaces it with luck, hoping that the skill will randomly cast in a favorable time rather than a predictable time.

Suggestions: fix the bugs, and its not the only bug, there are tons.

These are the problems that’s preventing a lot of players from finishing the bosses, not because the boss is hard. Its preventing players from properly learning skills / adapting to the boss mechanics because these problems are a massive annoyance distraction that prevents intended play.

no its difficulty is not fine, today I ran 5 failed tries, every single time the morale dropped from 90% to 0% in less than 5 seconds, it was utterly impossible to finish it when the morale drops that fast, fix it please

i just got permabanned for botting, I do not and did not EVER bot, end of story. I was farming in cursed shore with my guild when it happened, I was even joking around with my guildies in say chat, how on earth do I get banned when its so obvious that I was not botting? I have 50 people who can back my story up who was there with me at the time! This is absolutely ridiculous, first my account gets hacked few weeks ago and now I get banned for playing the game?

the new matchups are pretty unfair sometimes in terms of server populations so one way they can help make it better for the low pop servers its to give aoes unlimited targets (instead of 5) whilst under the unmanned buff.

ive seen a lot of reddit posts on screenshots of people exploring “outside” the zone, like behind invisible walls or up on high distant mountains or under the map or in other secret inaccessable places. now after the jumping puzzle bans from the new detection system, is doing that kind of “exploring” bannable? I would think the only thing gained from it is cool screenshots, but does it still count as a bannable exploit?

NETGEAR D6300, ive seen many people have problem with this modem router since november, it causes black screen often, about every 5-10mins for me. Its know that this router is not supported by the game, but i have no other choice. Support told me to disabling the port scan/dos protection but it did not fix it. So im wondering if theres anyone with this modem router that has managed to fix it?

i bought a NETGEAR D6300 modem router yesterday and starting using it, but it keeps causing my game to black screen after 10mins-1hour, i heard this has been happening to other D6300 users since around 6 months months ago because its not supported? so i was wondering if there is anyway to fix it myself or is it ever gona be fixed by Anet? because i literally cant do anything if it keeps blackscreening every 10minutes

How about this? Change wp to red color (like a warning) when npc is in combat and still allow people to use wp at the time. Then wp is changed to contested when npc is wiped at any time (note npc is respawned if the battle lasts long). If npc is respawned, wp is back in red and is accessable. So only make wp contested if npc is wiped.

You had the chance to wp when you could when it’s showing red. When npc is wiped and wp is contested for real, you are paying for your ignorance if you did not wp when you could.

So if you have a sizable zerg attacking a gate, npc is wiped pretty fast, which make the red wp window small (I think is reasonable). If it’s a small group attacking a gate and the battle takes long, some npc would respawn after their first wipe and wp goes to red again allowing defenders to wp at that small window before the respawned npc is wiped again. It makes sense tower/keep should be hard to cap, so allowing defenders more chance to wp is reasonable.

YES! thats along the lines of what i had in mind, let the waypoint be contested only after the NPCs at one of the gates are completely wiped or make a special NPC that upon killed will contest the wp, this gives a precious minute or two for the players to react and go to the wp instead of being instantly locked out. and it will also prevent the wp being perma-contested by one annoying little thief

its not just about stealth, its about the mechanic, 1 person doing 1 hit on the gate shouldn’t make it contested for freakin 10 minutes and then only to have them do it again and again

you think we havent tried? we got 30man zerg camping the gate, he still slips pass… he hits the gate and instantly restealth… you cant even see him, the npc guards dont even have time to react…

so fort apsenwood keep in EB was permenantly contested for the entire day because 1 stealth build thief would simply stealth inside, hit the gate, restealth, teleport away, for the entire day. what is the point of a waypoint upgrade if all it takes is ONE thief to make it useless? why can you not make it that you need a certain amount of people to hit it before it becomes contested?

on a different note, Anet have you have ANY idea how insanely big of a put off the amount of gold is? with 2100g buy offer, i bet 99% of the players can only dream of having that much, with the average player like me only owning 30g, when i saw the 2100g it was extremely depressing and put me off the game so much, knowing that someone can easily buy from gold sellers and get anything they want whilst we here farm for months and can barely afford a precursor.

there is 3 platforms, the middle one is lower and thats where my server spawns inside. now, the middle spawn platform can be reached by both the left and right platforms, most days its just an arrowcart or two constantly raining arrows but on one of the worst days i saw (combined from both left and right platforms) 4-5 arrow carts, 3-4 ballistas AND two trebs at the end of the puzzle, launching missiles all the way to the spawn area. i literally spawned on the platform and was dead within 6 seconds and there is no way to destroy the siege with like another 30 enemies camping the area below. By now Anet is more than fully aware of this but my question is, how do they not consider this gamebreaking? this is just the spawn point in the puzzle, dont even get me started on the arena room bottleneck camping grounds…

ive been testing in the mists and i put different sigils on mainhand and offhand, the mainhand works fine but offhand doesnt seem to work. is there any information on how offhand sigils work or which sigils work?

for me, and my build, the berserker is doing about 1-1.5k damage instead of 4-5k damage.

so if you’re casting this into alot of enemies, your total damage potential drops dramatically.

sorry im new to mesmer but is this a bug or a massive nerf?

GS shatter would be best for lots of damage to large numbers. but its kind of kittened until they fix the ibserserker damage bug.

ive seen the tutorials and ive personally played necro for nearly 3 months, i know the class inside out, ive tried everything. In large zergs necros are pretty good support but when it comes to 1v1s with burst classes like thief, bleedmancer is a joke. you guys telling me to l2p clearly dont get my point, im NOT saying necro sucks overall, the power or hybrid builds are not bad however i am NOT willing to be forced to run those builds just to be viable… if i wanted some burst power build, why would i play necro when i can play warrior? bleed builds should be extremely viable, if you take a look at warriors with dual swords, they can stack up 18 stacks in seconds, but necro cant even dream of doing that… then theres all the cleansing and heals, completely eliminates all damage from a bleedmancer. im only complaining because i do not want to give up on a build which i think has a lot of potential, i dont want to switch to power build like all my guildies did… and like i said before, the bleed damage is good, but the problem is getting the bleed aoes to hit (casting time is sooooo kitten long, the enemy can literally walk out of the area before the aoe completes) and stacking bleed needs to be much faster like the warriors dual swords at the very very least

No matter what profession and ability combo you want to propose, Necro’s have the ability to put out more conditions much, much quicker than they can be cleansed.

overall various conditions yes, but the main condition: bleed. which is required to kill people if you are bleedmancer, is extremely weak in terms of stacking speed compared to say, a warrior using dual swords + quickness. in small fights like 1v1s the main problem with bleedmancers is that scepter/dagger skills cast times are far, far too long, 9/10 times by the time my bleed aoes hit the ground, the enemy is already meters away from that aoe location, plus the lag in wvw, i literally have to predict 2-3 seconds into the future of where the enemy will be standing and that is what i call broken. with those skills being useless, it all comes down to the autoattack bleed, which is so, so weak. blood is power takes like a minute to do its full damage, when a thief can burst me down in under 10 seconds its useless. the damage is great, because in pve when i can actually aoe the mobs, they die pretty quick, so the problem im having is that in wvw the aoes can be dodge without even making the effort to dodge them…… even if i hit the bleed straight on target, it takes a bloody long time to tick away its full damage and in that time it will definitely either be healed or cleansed… whilst the enemy has already dished out 20k+ normal damage and im getting stomped… right now im being forced to play powermancer/shroudmancer with axes and daggers which is alright

Personally i still find them weak even in large battles. Conditionmancers rely to much on epidemic which can be easily counterd by a guardian using his shouts and the thingy that turns conditions into buffs. Rarley do i ever kill people by using epidemic. . . it does deal damage but it doesnt kill and more often then not it gets cleansed in a matter of seconds. I mean, i get my whole combo off and use nearly every skill i have and it can be counterd by pressing 2 buttons that both have a 60sec cd untraited.
So yeah, i mostly sit with my necro in yaks overlook and treb SM to take a wall down for the heck of it.

yeah true, also in 1v1 fights more importantly, a thief bursting me down in 5 seconds whilst i stack only 3 bleed on him, and he just heal/cleanse it off… he dodges out of all my aoes cuz scepter/dagger aoes takes years to cast, so im forced to use my staff, and trying kill someone with a staff is a joke. warriors with dual swords can stack up to 18 stacks in seconds, necro probably 12 max and takes 3 times as long to stack. im forced to use power necro build for wvw and if arenanet thinks thats a solution (just wait for people to adapt and ditch the fail builds) then i have no comment. dont get me wrong, i love the damage of bleeds, but the stacks LITERALLY take forever to stack up, when they do, they get cleansed…

in wvw, as a thief, i can burst people down in 5-10 seconds with ease, but on my conditionmancer, im lucky to stack 5 bleeds in half a minute only to have them remove/heal right back. its been 3 months, no change… im in a guild of 500 with 100+ online 24/7, only 7 active necros… does everyone else have the same problem for wvw? or have you found an actual viable build? Arenanet let me tell you on behalf of my entire guild, conditonmancer is an absolute joke in wvw. at the very least make bleeds stack faster, its extremely fustrating to be burst downed in seconds and see only 3 stacks of bleed on your enemy and they are nearly full health… If you are not changing anything, at least tell us so we can reroll another class… im sorry for the rant but ive waited 3 months, ive had enough.

This jumping puzzle is full of glitches, mist hitbox when you are nowhere near it, sometimes i get teleported into NOWHERE land where i can swim into the void or watch spin and spin a huge building.

ive been here 3hrs and the mist glitch along with nowhere land its pretty discouraging.

YEAH i just got glitched there too! the puzzle is very fun but all these glitches/bugs makes it impossible along with my normal failures, once i nearly got to the end and BAM teleport back to the start… how is that fair?

my friends and i have experienced this countless times, sometimes randomly we get teleported back to the start but we were jumping absolutely fine, we didnt miss a jump or anything but get teleported back even after i made a good jump… dont get me wrong, the puzzle difficulty is good, dont change it, but please fix the bug, its the only thing that is preventing me from completing the puzzle
