I wish that they did not cost tickets, makes learning fights through practice very very expensive.

I can also confirm that the Rifts are obstructed when attempting to use ranged attacks to destroy them.

The whole idea isn’t to buff condition damage from any single source but to allow multiple condition users to apply their damage. If 5 players attack a target with direct damage all of them deal 100% of their damage to the target. If 5 players attack the same target using only condition damage then only 1.5 of them actually deal any damage due to the bleed cap and the way poison and burning work. Nurvus is just trying to level the playing field by making both damage types viable.

My guild has been wishing for guild commanders for a long time. We run multiple groups and it can get confusing keeping them organized with no commander icon as we don’t want to disrupt the rest of the maps forces by running one.
- Mike Obrien
That is an interesting idea. If Arena.net has any qualms about allowing players to change classes at will then making them level 1 in the process would certainly eliminate those qualms. This could also have the bonus of allowing a race change and reset the personal story while getting to keep your wvw rank and legendary weapons.

Imagine new maps that would appear for a limited time and servers would fight over them using the same WvW point system. The winning server gets something unique like a trophy in their citadel. The mists is a breeding ground for interesting stories, they can literally do anything they want and it will make sense because its in the mists.

Save the scroll for when they release a new class and use it then.

It would get more people to notice its existence. I don’t know what steam charges to have your game supported by their client but Guild Wars 1 is in the store so I hope Guild Wars 2 will join it some day.
- Mike Obrien
I would like a gem store item that allows race change and a gem store item that allows you to reset your personal story. The race change item would obviously reset your personal story.

Heavy armor has several good gladiator themed armor sets that show off their rippling physique.

Story mode was supposed to be the casual mode option for dungeons with explorable modes being the hard mode option. A casual mode or hard mode option that could be selected in explorable dungeons might allow allow less skilled players to experience content that might otherwise be too difficult.

Why does a new thread on this topic pop up every day. Just go post in the old ones.

Such a thing would be a welcome addition to the game and promote the use of food buffs which many players don’t use and many more probably don’t realize exist. The affect this would have on the value of food buffs as more are used is also a plus.

That’s a terrible oversight by whomever designed the system. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Give this thread a read, guy provides some interesting ideas on what to do with conditions.

An option that can be toggled on and off would be fine. For party sized groups you will still be able to join each others instances. For guild wide groups I could see full underflow servers presenting the same problems overflow servers present now so an option to turn this off wouldn’t be a bad idea.

I spent a pretty substantial amount of time running the Aetherblade dungeon. The difficulty of the fights was fine (I’ve solo’d the laser golem boss and two manned Mai. No enrage timer on bosses makes most content trivial if you are patient). The duration of the event however should have been longer.
Two week long content just doesn’t seem like enough time for players to get to fully experience the dungeon content. A lot of players in the pugs I ran with had never even gotten past the first boss after a week of trying to run the dungeon.
Bad players exist and while I dislike that they never learn or improve their abilities (watching the boss fight when you are dead instead of alt tabbing to youtube is a GREAT way to learn the fight). I still think they deserve more time to clear the content. A month would seem to fitting for a decently difficult dungeon with some rather infuriating achievements attached.

Pretty sure they plan to release new infinite harvesting tools with new graphical effects periodically so players can get more. They would lose out on a lot of gem sales if you only had to buy one tool for your entire account.
- Mike Obrien
Why don’t they just give you blank items that accept stat inscriptions so you can make your own stat combination with 1 primary and 2 secondary or 1 celestial inscription that takes all 3 slots. Would make those ascended vendor lists a lot shorter…

In other games that supported player trading I would screenshot the player in question agreeing to the details of the trade (You agree to craft me this item in return for these materials and gold, etc). The very few times that people attempted to steal my stuff I just filed a ticket with the screenshot and got my items back a few days later.
Obviously Arena.net wants you to use the trading post but as Saturn.6591 mentioned Arena.net does state that “While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.”
Scamming is a form of fraud so it’s against the rules.

yeah have to honestly say… this is one of the more terrible ideas i have seen.
While I had an interesting game mechanic idea for a different game where players could place bounties on other players head and pay out currency to people who returned with their ear. It really is just a terrible idea that allows people to grief other players endlessly and does not fit in this game at all.

I don’t understand why people are making a fuss over mesmer portals in JP’s, if you don’t want to use a portal, don’t use it, play the game the way you want to play it, its as simple as that. How would nerfing portals help you in any way? Increase the population in the JP to block your view of jumps? Comon now… People can choose the way they want to play the game, and some people are incapable of completing jump puzzles, so why make them suffer?
As someone who loves jump puzzles, i complete my jump puzzles normally, but sometimes i even get annoyed with not being able to make a jump, and when i’m pressed for time i don’t see why using a portal should be illegal.
What he said.

I like the current system of dailies and monthlies giving achievement points. Why should I be punished just because I bought the game a few months earlier than someone else? If you are trying to level the playing field then new players would have to be given gold based off average wealth too or they would be far behind in that respect as well. It makes no sense to punish older players by taking away their rewards for their time investment.
- Mike Obrien
Based on the requirements given to us by the devs for this achievement it must be bugged. I have completed the requirements on 4 separate occasions and have never gotten credit. In my last run I never even got hit by a single cannon shot nor took damage from any ground aoe during the cannon phase nor immediately after it. I’ve but an obscene number of hours into running this dungeon for this one achievement and this is costing me my sanity.

Every MMO should have a permanent free trial system. Customers like to try a product before they buy it.

Basically allow the NPC kill squads sent out by camps, such as the centaurs or skritt, to actually take objectives. It would give incentive for players to keep these camps under control. Currently they don’t really seem to serve a purpose.
Players ignore the centaur camp and a series of dynamic events expire increasing the centaurs forces. Centaurs send out raiding parties which assault and attempt to take nearby supply camps. (This already happens but they just die to the guards.)
Take it a step further and have a series of dynamic events expire and the centaurs attack and attempt to take nearby towers.
Changes like this would have no effect on active WvW maps but they would create a more interesting battle field on some of the underpopulated worlds. NPC camps that belong to a server, such as the quaggans, would simply capture the camp for the server they are allied with.

The home instance was said to be the location of your personal housing when it is implemented. Since every person will have their own player home and will use the same area you can see the complications.
What this guy said.
And what’s the point of player housing if I can’t bring home a friend, or share a house with my family?
Anyone who is in your group and in the same zone can enter your personal instance. This includes personal story and your home instance.

Currently, PvP players get 100% free trait/equipment…
So when a new meta comes out, in 5-10 mins, they can sort out there new builds and be back to playing what they love PvP…
PvE/WvW players face huge costs in gold/badges of honour/dungeon tokens/laurels to change builds/adapt to new meta, sometimes by the time we get it spot on the meta changes again.
ITS UNFAIR…
I think PvP players should start paying a gold cost for trait changes and 1 laurel per equipment changes. Then they would know how PvE & WvW players feel. Only when the pain is shared will you understand…
What is this I don’t even…
Why would Arena.Net charge gold costs in a game type that has no gold rewards. WvW has gold costs because foes drop loot and events grant gold. Spvp does not.

You do more damage in berserkers gear with a sword than you do in rabid gear.

None of you played Guild Wars 1 did you. The AI in GW1 was amazing. Monsters fought as coordinated groups that used their abilities cooperatively. They actively avoided AOE effects and where challenging for most players. Players would form group comps with skill sets specifically designed to counter the mobs because they where so effective at killing players.
- Mike Obrien
Add something like this to the daily achievement or add a monthly achievement for running different dungeons.

I’m waiting for Hardmode (instanced) versions of maps with no respawning mobs so you can Vanquish again.
Pretty please?

There are/were plans (announced back in January) to add additional rewards to achievements and rewards based on total points. Since recent achievements rewards items, maybe that’s as far as they’re going to take it now.
We’re still working on a system that rewards bonuses and rewards for achieving various thresholds of achievement points on your account. More news on this soon!

Good idea that sounds simple enough to implement seeing as how we can already see our own name when someone puts a target on our head.
- Mike Obrien
What would this accomplish. Down scaled characters are already ridiculously overpowered to the point where I can one shot mobs in lower level zones. Down-scaling is an amazing feature that allows high level players to play with low level players without completely destroying the sense of balance. Every friend who tried to play WoW with me either got power leveled by chain running dungeons or told to go quest by themselves. In this game I can actually play with them in level appropriate content.

Weapon dyes would be great. Also stop acting like Arena.Net’s artists are the same people who are balancing game mechanics and writing code. A company doesn’t focus it’s entire workforce on one thing at a time. They have different departments doing different tasks.

Are you high?
PvE people are getting mad because there is no Risk vs Reward in this game, and your suggestion is to make it even worse?
Is the challenge of beating a hard dungeon not reward enough, why punish casuals and bads who just want to look pretty?

Other games have this feature. I see no reason why this game could not. It all comes down to priority unfortunately. But we can throw it on the back burner with LFG tools and condition damage fixes
