I saw one last night that made me smile. “TVs Adam West”
Thankfully there’s nothing in GW2 like this one korean mmo I played briefly. The very first mobs you encountered during your tutorial were these mushroom creatures. There was a family of them. A mother, a father, a daughter, and a son. I killed the father first (biggest target) and one of the kids shouted out (in voice!) “Daddy, no!” When I killed the mom, the daughter said “Mom? MOM?! MOM!!!” and they both literally started crying. I logged out and never went back. It was horrible…
It was an interesting read about the background behind passwork hacking and what we can do to protect our account. But what about arenanet? Where is the authenticator app for android / os? Where is the digital authenticator keychain? I want REAL security, not placeholders…
If I had to play guild wars 2 for 2000 hours, I would be pulling all my hair out.
Your hours played vs. the time the game has been out (including head start) means you average 9 hours a day?
You actually WANT to grind? Go play the korean MMOs. You’ll be very happy. You can spend months grinding and never get anywhere…

A few things:
If you are trying to level by “grinding” mobs, you’re doing it wrong! You get your main XP from heart quests and events. You get almost XP from killing random mobs. If you using this technique to level, no wonder your friends are surprised by your speed of leveling.
As to your lack of gear and spending all your money on it? Are you aware that after you complete the hearts, that person turns into a vendor that sells you gear for prestige points? The gear they sell is pretty good and looks great. I’ve transmuted a lot of my standard armor to look like the heart gear.
I don’t understand your “woes of solo leveling” comment. It’s very rare that I am alone in any event for long. If there are no events in your zone, go back to a previous zone and you should find one. One of the greatest boon to leveling in this game is the level step down so that you can gain XP in any lower level zone. You can go from event to event to event and gain levels VERY quickly.
I’ve never had a problem with leveling speed. In fact it’s almost too fast for me at times.

I hope that they add items in the shop that allow us to rename our characters and to change our appearance. I made my character for head start, but after launch I had “toon regret” over the appearance and name. I’m far too high to just delete and redo the content again.
If they do a rename / reappearance would you buy it?
I bought the CE physical version. I do NOT have my rytlock mini-fig or the tomes or any other digital item that was supposed to come with this. I’ve had people tell me that only the FIRST character that you create gets these items. I don’t have an in game mail, I don’t have them waiting for delivery at the trade house. Any idea on how to get them? Ticket was issued day of launch, 8/28.
