It’s obvious something needs to change, either damage reduced or defense reduced, particularly block.
Staff druid needs a nerf, the recent pet buff made it even more over powered. I’m not sure why ele and scrapper were hit but this wasn’t seen as a problem.
I bought GW2 a little before HoT came out, if they want to make the new specs better, they need to create a separate PVP space instead of making people who didn’t buy it fodder.

The game is so blatantly unbalanced it makes me never want to support the company again.
I think pure warrior is the only profession that can be a serious threat against new elite specs. This is my personal opinion but whenever I play with gs/axe-shield combo, I do not feel that much underpowered.
Warrior damage feels incredibly easy to mitigate/avoid but warrior doesn’t have much ability to do the same.

Then either way the OP is correct.
Take scrapper or rev, there is pretty much nothing base warrior can do verse them. Scrapper is literally better at being a warrior then warrior.
The reason conditions are OP is because once they are applied there is nothing you can do and if you are lucky enough to have a cleanse, they can be applied more often then cleansed.
Conditions don’t require active play on the part of the person that has applied them – they are free to run/evade/hide while the person being targeted has no way to avoid them.
The power of conditions is another example of the incompetence of the balance team…

Even after the update I feel base warrior is pretty bad, particularly against the elite specs. It doesn’t offer anything the other classes don’t do better.
The main thing warrior had was a high health pool but this is not really important because of the high damage/conditions all the classes now put out. Passive defenses are now vastly more important then HP but base warrior doesn’t really have much in this area.
If Anet wants to make people buy HOT to be competitive I have no problem so long as they are honest about it instead of lying. At this point it just feels like the balance team is incompetent.
The last thing this game needs is more passive defense.

Every defense/stunbreak/whatever triggered by traits as passive should be removed. The last you want is to add even more.
Passive defense= no need for skill. that is a fact.
Also this would probably be more appropiate in the…warrior forum perhaps?
So you would prefer to keep warrior useless under the guise(or delusion) that at some point the other classes passive defenses will be removed?

This game is so badly designed I don’t understand how the PvP team still has jobs.
At this point it would literally be better for everyone if warrior was straight up removed, at least people wouldn’t waste their time on it anymore.
None of the bursts should be telegraphed. They are way, way too easy to dodge.
Every other profession has a long list of passive defenses, blocks, evades,. Warriors only block prevents any skills from being used (shield) and is outclassed by literally every other profession.
Honest question, what’s the point? It’s pretty much useless in PvP. The most recent round of “buffs” is laughable.
Is scrapper not the most blatantly overpowered build currently? In terms of stupidly OP I don’t think anything else currently reaches scrappers level of bullkitten.
Yeah, because the ANET balance team sits around thinking “we want to make warriors bad”. It makes me laugh when people create posts like yours.
Much more likely is that ANET has no clue how to balance it.
Warrior has turned into a starter class in their f2p model to get people to buy the full game and upgrade to the viable classes. That’s literally what it has turned into.
As written in title: fix warrior or remove it.
Keeping it in game in its current state is literally just a troll. The big problems like telegraphed skills, the massive number of evades, passive defenses of other classes, etc haven’t been touched. Why? Because it’s clear the balance devs just want to troll warriors into switching classes.

Only hacking should be banned, IDC about botting. If someone wants to waste their PC power botting I honestly couldn’t care.
Because they want to suck your money and force you to buy HoT. That’s literally the only reason, it’s probably the reason the game hasn’t had a balance patch to.
I have essentially quit, I was never serious but watching them make my class obsolete and try to force me into shelling out more money for a game where they don’t give a kitten about PvP makes sure I am not going to log in again.
Congratulations, you managed to ignore the massive game imbalances and instead are focusing on the irrelevant ranking system.
If it’s not clear already, the balance devs are trash at their job. I have moved onto other games(I never took this game seriously but you don’t need to be at a “high level of play” to see the obvious deficiencies).
Trash Balance, P2W builds(HoT), blatant pandering to mesmers, I’m glad I didn’t spend more then 20USD on this game.
PvP in general seems like an after thought, there is no open PvP area.

With the PVP balance(or lack there of) and the death of warrior(the only class I really want to play), I am happy I didn’t get suckered into pay 50USD for HoT.
I literally have no interest in logging in(and hence I won’t).
The PvErs are phobic of any PvP within their PvE cuddle zone, I had a similar suggestion and they went nuts.
Warrior is sub optimal right now and ranger has more escape routes, so for roaming ranger.
Classes should be balanced 1v1. Each class should get a 1v1 build which is about equal among all classes and a team build The team builds will synergize together better but for solo capping the 1v1 would be superior. This would encourage different game play not restrict it.
Not having mostly balanced 1v1 is largely laziness on the devs part.
It seems that the increase in DPS has benefited classes which are primarily ranged and in general has hurt melee classes and especially those without stealth/instant gap closer(warrior).
It’s kind of odd that this was not considered during the update. The time it takes to close gaps now has a substantially bigger impact and I don’t feel melee damage has been compensated enough.
Furthermore it’s substantially easier to dodge melee attacks then ranged given that the animations can be easily seen and the dodge itself creates range.

With the release of the expansion they are effectively doing that, but making everyone pay 50 instead of 15. I have no doubt the new specializations will be OP.

I think they are great and I appreciate people with gold dropping a bunch but it would be cool if they were free and on a timer instead.

The slot for pre-ordering is insufficient compensation and the 10 dollar charge is pretty ridiculous in itself considering the cost of harddrive space today(which is next to nothing).
I may buy HOT when its price drops but not until then. The pricing scheme is an obvious slap in the face to the current player base.

No, I bought it through Amazon which according to them, makes it “not possible”. Which is also absurd, if they can’t uphold the same level of service for people who have bought through amazon digital download then they shouldn’t be selling through amazon digital download.

I recently started playing but after this most recent update fiasco(combined with sketchy pricing scheme for HoT) I am having very little faith in the developers….
How could Mesmer(mainly) or Ele(secondary) be released in their current state if the people play testing were competent? And over the last couple weeks no posts from anet employees on anything outside of HoT.
Overall hard counters are a bad game design IMO and was a fatal flaw in GW1. While some specs can be a little better verse others overall all classes should be pretty viable against other classes. It’s simply laziness on the devs part since designing around hard counters is much easier than being balanced overall.
War should get something…it’s good for attacking points but when it comes to 1v1 where distance can be created it’s pretty close to the bottom atm. Also it’s by far the easiest class to evade.
Rampage isn’t OP compared to what’s currently out there….it’s good at holding a point for a bit but 1v1 it’s hardly a god.
I was just going to post about this…Mesmer is by far the most OP class. I can’t believe people even complain about rampage considering Mesmer can do thief melee burst at range and has more escape options.
Something needs to change. Thief is limited by its range/armor. Ele is limited by cast times. Warrior is limited by range. Mesmer is limited by what exactly? They can’t tank but in 1v1 they are by far the best. Stealth/doppelganger spam + ranged burst = balanced?
If you upgrade you have a bunch of stuff already and most likely have at least one character ready for HoT without having to level up from scratch.
There is also the case for some of us with old items that are no longer obtainable and so on.
Why would you want to redo all the work you have done on your current account just because you get 5 new slots with a new account (which is the same number as you already have at your current account btw)?
5+5 = 10. For PVP it appears there is no downside to not having access to HOT, so you will actually be able to use all the classes…
After some thought the only way this price would be semi-acceptable is if we got an additional 5 char slots, equivalent to the number gotten with creation of a new account.
Curious question, with the “bundling” for the same price, is there any reason to upgrade your current account instead of creating a new one?
You get 5 char slots with a new account verses 1 slot with the “upgrade”. Unless you’re committed to continuing a certain path there I see no reason to not buy a separate account and get an additional 5 slots verses the pathetic 1 you get if you “pre-order”.

The whole “base game included!!!” thing is bullkitten, no matter how you cut it you’re getting way less content per dollar than a new player and it amounts to a middle finger at existing players.
The only reason they can do this pricing is because they feel people who are still playing the game, will be ripped off because they have already invested this amount of time/money into it.
Like I said before, it’s like a drug dealer offering a lower price on the first fix. Not to mention the milking of money from server transfers/tinybank/5 char slots…..
Allow dueling in other areas?
They need to merge servers, SWTOR did this and it benefited everyone,

so either you could persuade anet start a new PVP server even though there are already low population server, or a big NoNot what I am talking about. On Tatooine there is a free for all area where everyone not in your group is attackable. I want something similar added to a few areas.
Except very, very few players use that openworld arena in SWTOR.. there are a few of them on various maps and none of them get utilised except to run round and grab the respawn chests there and the black market terminals.
Openworld PvP is nothing but a waste of time and will likely do more harm than good to PvE.. you wanna play fight go PvP or WvW or EotM.. maybe even the Obbi Sanctum.. if not then it will likely never be an option in GW2
I want a greater number of experiences then repeatedly zerging in WvW, the standard map 5v5 rotation on arena or running the same dungeon for the 100th time. Lawless- PvP zones will provide the greatest boost in content per dev time invested then any other area since the players will be generating the interactions themselves.
Ganking pve’ers would make me soooooo happy.

People who PvE could just not go in it.
A solid 20 USD and frankly I wouldn’t want to pay more atm. It’s fun but it’s missing some important features involving pvp. Maybe I buy HOT at discounted price.
So you like want a map that’s PVP only? That’s fine as long as it’s not required for anything PVE and all the toxic gankers can stay there.
There could be NPCs there, the instancing is kind of a problem since SWTOR isn’t instanced. I would prefer it to be certain sections of maps, not map wide.
Maybe add a big boss too, so you get pvp + pve, guilds would actually have something to fight over etc.
