Sooo…not that I approve of breaking up Duels…But I see no announcement anywhere except the one saying WM should bring their zerg killers. While I do get it as being a joke…the implication to most people(particularly non-native English speakers) is that there was a zerg preparing to attack. If you want duels…try announcing it in the Forums and asking us to post about it in Map Chat.

For those talking smack about Jang and others’ typing in English…type just 1 full sentance in his native language without looking it up or Google Translator or such…Even if you DID look it it up or Google it, guarantee there’ll be parts that are grammatically horrible to a native speaker. Talk down about their game skills, about their zergs, whatever…But these guys can communicate with us, no matter how poorly, in our native tongue, do NOT demean that.

I think he means we have too many people and the overconfidence of that is killing us. Or not, but whatever.

A few things I wanted to express:

1) WM…thiss has come up everywhere so just wanted to say something quick.
I do not believe they are botting…it is not a matter of liking or disliking theem, it’s a matter of witnessing them training themselves for hours every night until they get it right and hearing horror stories of “Mad Jang the General of Destruction” when someone does something wrong. Also…if thhey ARE botting, all that I’ve read implies they’re worse when botting. Why would you complain about that?…Just wondering.

2) Kaineng getting it’s NA butt kicked. Any of my fellow Kainites who try claiming we were losing due to any reason other than us needing to improve needs to go to a friggin corner and put the Dunce Cap on. THIS is why I wanted, more than anything, NOT to go to T2 yet…They beat us down in an equal fight as I and many others knew they would. Our Server has numbers, it also has many incredible “Parts”…But all the parts of a clock working independently do not make the clock work, it’s only when they work in unison that you get the right time. That is what NA Kaineng needs to improve on…Communication and Cohesion must be our goal, until we can accomplish that we’ll never be the “Best”.

3) Mags and DB. Thanks for all the good fights, sorry I haven’t been on, I am an NA and Oceanic “Commander”, I like to think I make -some- impact when I’m around, but internet is off for a little while so I can’t enjoy the awesome fights you’ve been giving us. -.-

4) Everyone: Please remember that everyone here is here to play a game and have fun…there will always be someone more skilled than you are, rather than wasting your time posting complaints on the Forums, vent to your friends…it is what they’re there for. These forums are a place for all of us to enjoy the company of likeminded fun-seeking individuals. Here on the Forums we aren’t enemies, we’re competitors.(That said, healthy competitive communication is always good…look at, for example, the CD Bounty that happened last week…it was fun for all sides.)

I’m with Dhampyr…always liked Maguuma, I even place the occassional Holy Ram on the Orb Altars in honor of them. So thank-you for the compliment. As far as “where” Kaineng will go…I predict we’ll be in T2 for awhile working on improving our Bandwagoners to “Get them on our level”, when they have, I predict T1 is our eventual home though due to the coverage and the capability(with a real challenge) to have 2+ BLs Queue’d 24/7.(Thus far people only see what our Friday is like…they do not see all the people wanting to WvW but bored in LA and LA Overflow…There are lots.)

As a note: Glamour Mesmer is ONE of the best…but there’s at least one other Build I know of that is awesome in a Zerg. No…not sharing though, figure it out your bloody selves. :P

I myself have been ridiculously impressed with both, more directly CD…been mostly hanging out in the Meow group “Training” for Zergball Awesomeness with my Mesmer. I’ve both wiped and been wiped against equal numbers and it has been beyond fun.(And we secretly were numerous times trying to give you guys openings to take towers/keeps…But the other Zerg just wouldn’t stop. -.- )

Note: The reason particularly CD is I haven’t fought many Benders, only seen the results of your smooth hit and runs! Which were very well done…love looking up to suddenly see a Keep red.

Because people hadn’t given Kaineng a bad enoug reputation yet. Thank-you for perpetuating and reinforcing a stereotype, all of us on Kaineng greatly aappreciate it. -.-

since OG isn’t skilled enough to take on bigger numbers, unlike other small outfits i have seen, perhaps they should transfer to a lower tier. it’s unfortunate that they realized their place in the food chain after the free transfer period has ended, but such is life.

They were going to…no one wanted them though. Funny part is, from what I’ve seen they -are- skilled…but they don’t seem to realize this is an MMO…a “Social” game. You may not be out to make friends, but don’t be surprised when no one wants you around because of it.

Just hope you don’t run into War Machine on Kaineng then. The zerg runs perma-swift, perma-buff, drop crazy AoE and are incredibly disciplined. Their player builds are focused around supporting the hive. I don’t know what T1/T2 combat is like but the zergs on Special K are impressive… impressive enough to get entire populations logging off for a week.

This person is obviously a troll…we have been told repeatedly Mag is better than Kaineng and we are 99% unskilled bandwagoners. THIS is the truth! Do not believe the troll trying to claim otherwise!! I hope Kaineng gets to fight T3 next week, we need the opportunity to get punched in the face by Mag and DB love…also, maybe people will finally acknowledge “We got game yo.” Or something.

I’m not going to tell you how to play, just going to say that it’s likely you’re on par with us in terms of size. We want a strong third server in T2 after most of SBI jumped to SoR and ruined the tier.

Completely understandable. I promise, we’ll be along shortly…while I expect the fights to be incredible, I do also expect us to come out the winners. It’s simply an experience I believe the Server needs. Last thing I’d want is to get to T2 only to immediately get knocked right back down to T3 because we weren’t up to snuff. Would rather take the time needed in T3 to improve ourselves and make T2 a MUCH better fight.

To be fair, the reason I -WANT- to fight Maguuma/DB rather than skipping them entirely is I DO think it’s a good match-up. And I think they’d agree. The problem is, right now we’re facing 2 much weakened servers who have extreme coverage weaknesses. I think Kaineng NEEDS the fight with Maguuma/DB in order to realize “These are the littlest giants.” and change up our tactics to something more appropriate to our new Tier.

And some of us(Crazy I know…) enjoy anything that involves using tactics to overcome an obstacle. Of course…large scale battles of two to three forces facing off can’t result in something like that. -.-

Zergballing will also get hurt with the culling change going in on the 28th. We should switch to relying on smaller parties, rallying forces only when needed.

This is actually one reason I wanna go T3 rather than skipping it entirely…want to give our Server a chance to fight a more reasonable field before we move up. Work on our tactics and such.

Trying to keep us at just low enough points to stay in T3 instead of T2…Don’t wanna completely miss the chance to fight Maguuma and DB. XD

I say this with complete and total intention of complimenting and not insulting anyone, that said:

CD…You guys have officially defended your BL better than anyone I’ve fought since T8. While others have managed to put up a fight…you guys HELD and you did so with awesome precision and finesse. Well done to each and ever person who was in CDBL today!

-.- The only real usefulness of these things:
1) Being in a Golem…admittedly that was OP, but it was OPness I agreed with because IT’S A FREAKIN’ GOLEM. It was the -only- “Defense” Golems had against getting kitten by Thieves.
2) Using them in “Alternate Forms”…Because of you guys, my Griffon can no longer run around attacking. I didn’t care that I was weaker than everyone else(because anyone who says they’re OP in an “Alternate Form” is fooling themselves…You get no active defenses, nothing.) I just liked doing it, kinda like taking Towers naked.

A lot of people are missing the point. In open field no one really cares. For defense, these can obliterate siege with the defenders doing almost nothing. It is stupid. I’m glad quite a few bads have gotten some ego boosts, but I think it’s gone on long enough.

They could…and crazy thought here…reflect them away?…Or kill the person shooting them since in order to attack you have to have LoS and that means Ballista to the face?…Claiming these are “Uber powerful for defense!” is a huge over-statement…their greatest defensive power is allowing people with little to no range attacks to hit at range.

…Everything is an exploit. Your attacks hit me but mine are blocked by terrain! Exploit!

Only people doing that much damage are people in Golems. -.- Considering how easy it is to melt golems, I think it’s nice they -actually- have an attack that hurts. Still easily turned on you though because if they reflect your mini-golems it’ll kill -your- group instead.

If I remember correctly from the one time I had these spammed against me, the golems track you mercilessly. Bit extreme for something that can be spammed for that much damage…. If they took that out and the apparent “slide down the walls” thing, might be okay. It’s sad to see a spammable consumable that’s stronger than most weapon skills, though.

A) It’s slower than regular attacks.
B) It costs money for every attack.
C) It’s at BEST equal damage to your 1 Attack…If it’s doing more, you’re doing it wrong. XD

Just figured I’d get this started now in preparation for the fight to come! Feel free to comment on the upcoming match or offer words of encouragement to our soon-to-be opponents! (And keep in mind there are lots of people not able to be on today, keep constant Score updates for them when reset happens!)

Ive seen other guilds trying to mimic this. If you ball up tightly it does look VERY similar to the old swarms of bots we used to see swarming all over the world. But what reason would they possibly have for botting? Seems to me like bots in WvW trying to fight against real players would be awful. Pretty sure WM zergs are not awful. I hope they are still investigating these accusations.

From what I understand, all but the leader’s have been “released”. That alone is enough proof for me that someone was gaming the system. 10 Players Banned, and summarily un-banned without further evidence submitted. ANET…look at your Report-Banning system. Consider sending in-game E-mails to inform people they are being investigated and why…a Bot won’t respond, a real person will.

The best I can figure is that bans aren’t automatic and they get processed by a person. That might explain more of why ban errors occur, but that’s just a complete guess. It does support what MikeFerguson said earlier in this thread where reports are checked by humans first.

This would probably explain the inconsistency best…Some people are going to be obscenely lazy, others extremely diligent. The lazy people will see 20 Reports and rather than read them all will take the time to smoke, take a break…then ban and say they read it. :p Not precisely accurate, but simply trying to express my view of what’s happening.

Storm I have the utmost respect for 99% of your posts I have read in the past as a competitor matched up against you for now our 10th week. Hopefully you know most if not all my posts are laden with sarcasm and poor humor intended to get a laugh out of at least one person. However there are some pretty serious accusations going on in this thread as well as in the match-up thread FROM BOTH SIDES NOW. We as players have no clue why the ban was dropped right? Yet in his post Shroom clearly points out that the bans were handed down to WM due to and I quote “War Machine is being systematically targeted by a group of people who are willing to violate the code of conduct in order to sabotage another server’s community.” Could those bans be related to something completely different???? I’ve killed WM players and been killed by them, do I think they use a third party program? Honest answer-No. Could they be using one? Honest answer-Yes. Bringing this issue to the public forums has and will only open up more cans of worms.

I’ll be totally honest: No I do not for a fact know that this particular case is one of the ones I’m assuming it is. However, I still do believe it is a potential problem(likely to actually be a BIGGER problem because of this post sadly…now that people know how to exploit it, I foresee it happening more.) I truly and seriously believe ANET will have to look at it’s itchy trigger-finger bans…I also agree it WAS needed when we had 5 billion Bots running around now…and I imagine THAT was the original impetus for the “Protocol” as it stands…But more and more innocent people ARE being affected by this. I will bet anything innocents always have, but with fewer Bots now, it’s hurting more than helping.

Just to clarify: I am NOT saying that WM is/is not botting…I’ll leave that to ANET to figure out. My issue is with the insta-ban without any evidence. They paid to play this game same as me and you, do you truly enjoy the idea of being banned without any evidence whatsoever that you did anything? I know people this has happened to, I was with them and we talked a lot in VOIP…and they were banned as bots. Was it repealed?…Yes…but not until 5 days later on average. That’s 5 days of not being able to play the game “Just because”.

Just as a note: If they don’t, why do I know of at least 5 people who’ve been banned for similar reasons, only for the ban to be repealed with nothing more than an “Appeal” submitted?…Call it a “Screw up” or whatever you want, if no further evidence was submitted in their defense, it means there was none against them in the first place.

…You do realize for the last 4 days several people have been shouting “BOTS!!!” in the WvW thread with Kaineng right? The accusations have been thrown around willy nilly and reports submitted. As far as “Why”…I imagine it’s because whoever’s responsible for reading all the complaints said “Jeezus…100 reports on this one guy?… -.- Screw it, he’s obviously guilty BANNED.” This is FAR from the first time this has happened..so whatever it is, there is a problem with Reporting that is abusable and it needs fixed.

People are way more likely to report bots because they know what it is. On the other hand, do you really think it is easy to convince random people in WvW to report a person, much less a guild? It would ruin your server’s reputation if they did a mass-scale report on a single guild in WvW. That’s why it is highly unlikely. Fyi, you can estimate that at least over 300-500 different players cycle through a leveling zone a day on busier servers. They’re bound to report the same bots several times over a week. I’ve seen bots that lasted like 3 weeks in densely populated areas. Those bots alone must have gotten at least a thousand reports already.

2 things: Bots farming will get a lot of reports…over time. They won’t get 300+ Reports because 300+ players passed them…over the span of a day or two, sure. But most people who pass bots do just that…pass them.

In WvW…they get a massive number of Reports instantly. In the span of a few minutes…THAT is what seems to trigger the “Auto-Ban”.

Actually, yes…all it takes is one angry group in WvW to then post the name telling everyone “Please report _ Account for Botting.” which gets more response than counting on random people to report an obvious Bot.

Funny you should mention this…it’s the reason those Guilds left their Servers, but because THEY did it…and not you…they’re bad people. You people all make me laugh. Judgemental hypocrisy is at it’s finest on an MMO where everyone got where they are by people transferring, only to result in those same people complaining when others move up via transfers. Name a Server that hasn’t gotten Transfers, just try.

I have never played against WM but I can tell you that I have been reporting A LOT of people lately for botting since there is no option to report players for hacking.

The max run speed in this game is capped at 33% out of combat which my elementalist is at all the time. If a player can noticeably out run me that player has to be hacking and I report everybody.

The problem is that this particular case is being caused by a few individuals making very broad statements and following them up with reporting…over…and over…and over…and over again. If you asked people whether they HONESTLY thought WM was Botting, only people who’d say “Yes” are bum-hurt individuals upset they lost a fight. WM has skill and discipline. They don’t need to cheat to be great at what they do.

And they(not WM…WM had it’s reasons to go to Kaineng, including a long history with us.) sent scouts to a NUMBER of different places. I don’t really care what you do/do not “buy”…There were Scouts for these Guilds on other Servers, but the final choice they made was Kaineng, because when they got here all they had was support. They chose Kaineng because it was the place they felt welcome and at home…What else matters?

No game company wants to ban people unjustly, and no one out there uses a system that just gives auto bans based on reports. If they did, it would be a disaster for them. Is there bugs in any system? Of course. Do people get hit with a ban when they shouldnt? Of course. But saying just because people are “abuse reporting” someone that they can get banned is stretching it a little bit.

ANET uses such a system…dunno if it’s manual or what, but after a certain number of reports…auto-ban. What’s worse, though, is the Gold Ban…know far too many people auto-banned for trading Gold…when they earned it legitimately farming.

Why didn’t you, instead, transfer to a tier 1 or tier 2 server where such a culture already existed? What was the appeal of being a big fish in a small pond?

One large factor for them was Server size. They would’ve had huge issues transferring to any “Upper Tier” at the time due to it’s Server Population. Currently, I believe Kaineng has the highest WvW:PvE Population.

It’s really pretty sad. When we last fought DB while we were DH we had nothing but respect for each other.

Please stop. We do NOT know whether Kaineng or DB will win this fight, we won’t until the two Servers actually spend a week together. Both sides need to knock it off with the chest thumping. Kaineng will put every effort into crushing DB, and I expect DB will put every effort into crushing Kaineng, it wouldn’t be fun otherwise. So good luck to all sides!

Abyss was one commander, yes he was good, but PD/DHE, etc were just not large enough. We tried, we really did try, I tried so hard and put so many hours in. We asked for help, I am sorry for what happened, but I promise you we tried.

I think I understand what Little’s trying to say…During the 3rd to last week of DR vs Kain vs FC, Kaineng put up a HUGE fight…we managed to -ALMOST- win vs DR…This was with 5-10 people each night holding our BL from 2-5 times their numbers. I know because I was the one commanding those 5-10 people each morning. Whatever people say about Vakat and his personality…me and him were able to hold our BL against incredible odds with the support of PUGs.

The problem?…During that week I had to put in nearly 80 hours of play…I couldn’t leave each night because there were too few numbers to protect the BL…if I left, it was near guaranteed we would lose everything by the time the other Commanders and such woke up. I was exhausted…I was upset…and I didn’t want to WvW. So the next week I said “Screw you all, I’m going on vacation.” The GL of KAIN agreed with me…moreover, he saw that our entire Guild had put in ridiculous man-hours and had been having to treat this game like a job rather than a game. So our Guild took a vacation from WvW to PvE and such. At the same time…SoS and KR did as well. More or less we “Gave up our BL and EB” for the week. The timing, however, was horrible as we had -JUST- formed an Alliance of Guilds…a group whose goal was to win…And WAR and iSpy did NOT like that we took the vacation, so they left. That is their right and I’m good with that…they had good reason.

During that down-time…Many of us considered leaving Kaineng…The only reason we didn’t?…Because DR would be gone soon. We knew that once DR left the fights would be better, there was something to look forward to. Right now I’m looking forward to each Friday, hoping each week that it’ll be better than the week before…But what did RE and so many others have to look forward to on their previous Servers?…Whatever -YOU- believe they had to look forward to…they didn’t see. When they looked forward all they could see was negative, so they left…and they came here. And now each Friday is an adventure, a day when we find out “How far will we go?!”

I think our down times are a about the same. So I’m almost certain I’ll have to plan my heal skill 10 seconds in advanced.

This is a heads up(I’m doing this because I WANT good fights…each Server we faced all but gave up when they came on and the entire map was painted our color…they still “tried”…but with FAR less numbers…iow: I’m really not trying to “brag”.)

Don’t know what folks have told you, but Kaineng has -MAYBE- an hour of Downtime…and by that I mean…an hour where only EB is Queued. Whenever your “Slowest” hours are…make sure your people are prepared to hold what they have. I do NOT want to win via PvD again…I want us to earn this win or loss legitimately.

YB, unfortunately Yaks is suffering from Transfers due to the paid transfers like so many others…while I expect they will have some presence, I am expecting their biggest effect will be that they’ll give us fights during DB’s down-times and such to distract us from taking all of DB’s stuff in PvD.

I don’t know when your down-times are, I know Kaineng has few, so my only suggestion is to try and plan around those to keep us out when there’s only a few of you on! Hey hey hey now! “Native Kaineng” is why these other Guilds came here and we don’t do “Dancing on bodies” unless there is a reason or out of mutual respect/rivalry.(I did it to DRs whenever they came into KBL for example and challenged them to take it away from me. :p It was fun and they always took me up on the challenge!)

Who was it dancing on your body btw?…Cause it is worth noting that we have had LOTS of random Transfers beyond the “Big Guilds”.

Edit: Hmmm…I could be a little wrong. Kaineng also had a LOT of players from PvE start playing once DR left. Those kinda players who quit when a fight is hard may well be the kind of players that “dance” and stuff…
