Just wanted to reiterate this for Darwin here. While DR has some of the most visible “aggravating” type of people, I have spent many hours just chilling/dancing/partying with DR folks. They are, on average, awesome folks! (You just have to ignore what’s most visible to see it. XD)

Also: I know of at least 1 spot you CAN wall-jump into Bay. Haven’t tried it lately to see if patched, but witnessed it being used by DR when they were here.

It’s interesting to read this because it’s -very- similar to how I tend to run things. Main thing I do different is that even when I’m commanding I prefer not to wear a Commander Icon at all. Instead I tend to talk with the Commanders I’m working with in Vent or Whispers. I do like the “Rule of Three” though, we tend to do the same, but usually because it becomes mandatory because no one listens the first two times.

I think someone’s upset that he’s losing arguments…poor thing, want a tissue? I know it’s sad to have someone informing others DR isn’t the “UBER AWESOME SERVER” you want to think you are. But that’s no reason to come crying over here about it. As far as ET/FC…Sorry we’re stuck here another week, I imagine this week will probably be a LITTLE better though just because so many people on Kaineng seem to be getting “Bored” and leaving WvW till we move up. Will be hilarious if it results in the Server resetting to the numbers we had a week and a half ago. :p

Expecting the match-ups to be very close sounds far more ridiculous when transfers are available. DR led those matches between 10-100k over the previous 9 weeks. They were NOT all shut-outs, most weren’t anywhere near shut-outs. Were they optimal match-ups? Not really, but in a system like this I think they were about the best that can be expected.

it’s not so much that they never ran away with the points – it is that anet’s ratings system is a VERY slow plodder – you move up slowly and down slowly – if you are ranked number 1 at say a rating of 2400 and your server totally quit wvw it would take 12 weeks to fall to the bottom – if you are in the bottom tier you have to over achieve to move up – so it took DR 9 weeks straight of winning to move up a single tier – and actually DR may not of moved up had ET not moved down – so lets not defend the ratings system by saying FC and Kaineng held them in T8 no.. it was anet’s ratings system

This kinda sentiment is getting annoying. Would you people please go back over the last 9 weeks and review the scores? 2 things will show up when you do so:
1) THEY ONLY WON 8/9 TIMES. Seriously…If you’re going to keep bringing up how “AWESOME UBERNESS” they did the last 9 weeks, at least go over those scores and get it right.
2) They very very rarely do better than 100k points more than the person in 2nd place. When they FINALLY got a LOT of points in their last weeks, it was because Fergies and Kaineng BOTH had had enough of fighting endless zombie hordes and literally left their BLs for DR to take in order to ensure they got enough points to escape the Tier.

I get it…people don’t like the scoring as it has been done in WvW, but it was working JUST fine in that matchup.

Forgive my ignorance as I’m not from this tier, but SF was obliterating HoD and ET very recently and going for a record for score and now they are barely ahead of that same HoD in points while getting killed by DR? Can someone enlighten me with what happened or if DR suddenly got ridiculous transfers? The score is nothing short of surprising and I’m just wondering if something happened to SF.

DR has absurdly high numbers, they were kept in Tier 8 by 2 Servers who were skilled and managed to prevent DR from ever completely running away with the points. Now that they’ve broken out of Tier 8, they’ll climb until they reach Servers with equally absurdly high numbers of people. Kaineng has in the last week had a dramatic increase in population with very little in the way of transfers. It’s most likely that a number of the Kaineng people are just “Fairweather” Players who will disappear as soon as Kaineng loses the first time, they just showed up en mass because it was the first week without DR in a long time. Most likely Kaineng will end up 1 tier below whatever Tier DR ends up in, possibly the same Tier for a bit until the rankings settle.

Also…No fair, Chaster, stop hogging the Spotlight. -.- Lionightus is totally the coolest Commander in Kaineng. DR had issues with Fergie defenses in their home BL, so that Lion guy took both Fergie Keeps with about 12 people within 20 minutes.(Tried to do it a second time but sadly the 2nd group was distracted by Supply Camps and a PUG ruining the plan. But we still took one of the Keeps!)

As a note, the people vocal on the Forums are ALL the minority in WvW in general and Kaineng in particular. “Kaineng” isn’t being a jerk to Chaster, like 2-3 people were being judgmental. So please stop saying “Kaineng so mean to Chaster!” and such, it implies far more than what’s actually happening.

I can’t argue with you – everything you say is truth. You absolutely want to attack where the enemy is weak. The thing is, that stuff works great when the pastures are green. Points-wise, we’re destroying FC and ET, but that’s really just a numbers game and many bouts of PvDoor. When it comes to equal force on equal force, the result is often a coin toss.

If we keep cruising like this, we’re going to end up in T7. Although I bet DR moves to T6 before we get there, can you imagine facing them again with that strategy – meaning there aren’t any easy pickings anywhere and you have to fight for every single camp/tower/keep? The zerg you talk about will get wiped and quit. It’s just plain better to have quality players that understand siege, understand tactics, and have the heart to deal with heavy resistance than to have a mob.

I’ll tell you (from my experience anyway), DR zergs didn’t seem similar to the zerg you discuss here. They flank, they ambush, and although you can stall them, they don’t quit. That’s why they ate us alive when they were down here, and why I think DR will continue to advance. I’d hate to see Kaineng start to get on its feet, start to advance, and then fail miserably because our folks can’t handle a difficult fight.

I think you may be underestimating some of the folks you have – this past week, I’ve played side by side with quite a few of you guys, and I’ve always come away with a feeling that your guys are pretty dang good. I’d hate to see that talent and strength melt at a hint of adversity.

I have crushed many a DR Zerg, and when I did there was a few things I always kept in mind:
1) TARGET THE COMMANDER. This was always required because a DR Zerg without a Commander is basically destroyed.
2) The first time you defeat a DR Zerg they will lose about 25% of their Zerg, the other 75% will come back hard and fast to try and slam you down.
3) The second time you beat a DR Zerg it actually seems to just irk them off, they only lose like 5-10% of their people.
4) The third time you beat them the DR Zergs tend to crumble. They will retreat from the map and just leave small groups of skilled folks behind to annoy you.

The reason DR Zergs are dangerous is their Commanders who are well organized and work well together. If you can disrupt that communication, you can beat them much much easier. The reason why Chaster’s Zergs are so powerful is how cohesive his groups are, Chaster’s people lack individual strength and as such will likely get crushed most of the time if they are separated from the group. BUT…when they are in a group, they stick together and follow the directives Chaster issues. This is VERY powerful in a setting where “PUG Zergs” are the standard affair.

This is the reason I consider SoS to be one of the most powerful forces I have yet to see, this is also why I think that every time they get on for WvW EB will turn the color of Kaineng.

The crappy thing about Kaineng’s guild exodus that went on for awhile is that it actually was abandoning the smaller guilds that have been there through it all, the ones not mentioned on the forums in the weekly matchups but were still out there every night feeding your keeps supply that apparently you and only you fought so hard to defend. We might not have had the numbers or coverage because we were smaller, but suddenly we were left high and dry because of the politics of the large guilds who couldn’t play nice with each other or figure out how to balance the game and their lives like adults. THEN people in the smaller guilds stopped playing, because Supply Camp Wars is dirty work and never ends. We’ve adapted since and got some fresh faces and are obviously fine, and I have no anger towards the free will of anyone to play where they want. It has seeded mistrust of transfers in general, but that has yet to be seen if it will affect us negatively. I hope the alliance found the support they were looking for back in DB. My point is, don’t lump me or the other 5-10 man guilds who dedicated everything to supporting you guys in with PUGs and fair weathers and expect me not to be a bit cheesed about the victim complex you all are sporting as if you were the only people on the field.

As Forest Gump would say, that’s all I got to say about that.

I won’t lie, I feel bad for not really remembering the smaller Guilds. But I can barely remember the bigger ones and generally only do because I see them so often. And to be fair, I was in KAIN before it was big! So technically we were a kinda small Guild when I initially joined. :p

My point is this: Smaller Guilds are the backbone of all Servers, they are the ones in DR truly making them great, they are the ones in Kaineng who’ve kept us in the running this long. The problem is there’s a lot of them, so it’s kinda hard to really properly show you guys appreciation since we can’t really just say “Nicely done KAINENG GUILD NUMBER FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY THREE.” So to all you smaller Guilds that HAVEN’T abandoned us in WvW through thick and thing, thanks.

Secondly, just wanted to say that whatever issues you had with Kain/KR, I myself had no issues with WAR/iSpy. :p I had taken a break from WvW that week because I personally had put in -RIDICULOUS- hours that week trying to keep things, mostly because I didn’t work. I remember having been on and in WvW from like 6 PM until 8 AM each day. XD At the end of that week I looked back and said “Nuh uh…NEVER again.” I just could never leave cause I always felt like if I left we’d lose everything because only 3-4 other people would be on.(And usually half of those 3-4 were one of you guys.)

…I’m wondering if some people didn’t read the same thing I did when Chaster posted? So here’s the deal:

The way I read it said to me “If I see no chance of actual victory, I see no point in letting my people get demoralized by fighting a lost battle.” Because of this view, SOS was able to continue fighting long into the pointless no-win fight against DR and helped out so many of us when they were around. They simply were not trying to win, they were just having fun.

Anyone who wants to can say all the crap about SOS they want to, I remember when I had no more than 5 players in KBL at 4-8 AM CST and if I asked Chaster for some help because our defenses were being overrun he would come in with 20-30 people and CRUSH all opposition. Where were all the other small Guilds that seem to be popping up all over the place now? DR leaves and we get zergs of soo many people…and most of those are NOT transfers. If those people had been out fighting from the start, DR likely would not have beaten us.

So don’t blame Chaster for not wanting to waste his time trying to accomplish things that he knows are beyond our reach, instead blame the people who are REALLY fairweather players showing up to bash on ET in Map-chat because they’re losing against Zergs that outnumber their total WvW population in 1 map. You aren’t awesome for beating ET, if you stayed and fought DR tooth and nail when you knew you couldn’t win you ARE awesome.

Edit: I bring up this last part because I know of at least 1 person who transferred out because they didn’t like reading Map-Chat and seeing a Zerg bashing ET. It’s not cool guys, and it doesn’t make you cool. ET and FC both are doing incredibly well for the numbers they’re fielding. You wanna talk about how much people suck, look around and talk about the people who will only come out when they outnumber the enemy 10 to 1.

Here’s the thing: 33k should not be possible for ANY single attack in this game. I get it…it’s cool. I get it…there’s a timer. I get it…you like doing massive damage in 1 hit. This is ridiculously stupid. Hell…10-15k to someone with 3k+ Armour is ridiculous. I have 14k HP as a Guardian, that’s literally 2/3 or more of my HP in 1 single attack through a very very large amount of defense. In a 1v1 or a world without Culling it’s a fair attack, though I’d personally also say some kinda little flashing “Gun” icon should pop up over their heads for THAT much damage…but there is NO way to know it’s coming in WvW unless you are insanely lucky.

Sorry ET…Had trebbed the wall on Cragtop and knocked it down just for PoI and a gift for you. XD Sadly the Kain Zerg was apparently following after me and got in before you could claim it and slam the wall shut. But look on the bright side: You claimed it twice in 10 minutes!

Edit: Also, myself and Fenris got to have a Dance party with a couple of you guys while in Toy Soldier Transformed state! But not till after killing an annoying Ele shooting me in the face with fire. :p Fire blasting people in the face is rude!

Technically I dunno if Darx actually left for ET, him and several members of BBT were scouting it as a potential new home as far as I knew.

The difference between Kaineng and DR: Kaineng’s “Vocal” population is willing to admit to winning via number superiority. (I say “Vocal” because a minority of DR was also willing to admit it, they were just sadly less vocal.)

As a note: I wasn’t saying I thought either of the other Servers would beat DR…from everything I know you guys would be well on your way to T6 even if they were all there. My point was simply that they’re low-pop Servers, so people not being there for Holiday Events has a larger impact than on Servers with absurd numbers of WvWers.

Essentially: I just think they’re not putting up the fight they COULD if it wasn’t a Holiday week. But it still wouldn’t be enough to beat you.

Thank you! Honestly we’re not all like this. I don’t wanna play WvW because well, there is nobody to play against. We are not stomping because we’re “ub3r l33t mlg” it’s because there is next to nobody to fight. I’ve been watching HoD tank since TA broke up.

Also, to everybody in DR saying how amazing we are that we are dominating the other servers that we vastly outnumber. Stop, please stop, don’t make a fool of us all.

Though I hate myself for saying it…not all of them are at fault for that reason. Some simply refuse to admit how seriously outnumbered the Servers who’ve fought against you are. Some are the same size Servers, but with next to no WvW presence…I still remember having 3 people defending against a 20-30 man DR Zerg. I remember it because out of that entire Zerg, ONE person stopped and bowed, most of the others “Laughed” or danced on my dead body.

Edit: What I’m trying to say is the jerks so outnumber the cool people you have, that that one moment to me just seemed to represent DR as a whole. For every 20 jerks you have 1 awesome and cool person. I KNOW that all Servers have those kinda people, but unfortunately your population seems imbalanced towards them too much atm. I loved fighting DR and stole several of your tactics while trying to offer advice of my own. :p I wouldn’t offer suggestions if I hated you.

Anywho: To all people in Tier 7, I hope you have fun times. I hope when/if we meet up in battle we can remember that this is just a game and helping each other isn’t a crime.

It doesn’t help that the 1st week versus DR you have the Holiday event…That will hurt most Server’s numbers. Kinda hope something happens to let you guys have another shot at DR just so they have a chance to see what you’re capable of. Regardless…good luck to you guys and I imagine we’ll probably be seeing each other soon. If Kaineng does manage to “Beat up” on you guys, I promise, I’ll login my Thief and go into your Spawn point to just Dance party with you guys for a little while. Free meals provided and everything. :p

You have my sympathies. XD Ourselves and FC had been on the receiving end of MASSIVE numerical superiority from DR for a long time. Unfortunately, I feel a little bad now because we’re getting more and more numbers and are at this point I believe outnumbering both FC and ET. Plus Chaster and the “HOARD OF UNDEAD ASIAN MINIONS!!!” have become a more active so far this last week.

FC: I enjoyed the equal number skirmishes, when we were within 100 points of each other and fighting for superiority on Friday. I am sorry it won’t really be able to stay that way as our numbers in WvW seem to be growing. Just know that I understand numbers are the reason we are where we are right now and respect you guys a lot. (It doesn’t help that apparently you’re losing people too.)

As a note Junk: My point to Ginkeuri was simply that individual Skill DOES help the Team/Server. If you’re individually stronger, then your Guild and Server both are stronger because you’re more useful. Imagine, if you will, a Zerg full of Envy Mesmers. That would be FAR more frightening than any other Zerg, not because they’re Mesmers…but because they are -skilled- Mesmers.

…We now number a little more than Fergs. It’s not like we number anywhere near DR. If you think we do have ANYWHERE near your numbers, you’re ridiculously delusional…

Why anyone talking about 1v1? That is not this game, i was sick of it in last tier. Its a game, and old game called war. But nowadays you don’t duel with eachother, there is no honor. You sneak up behind your enemy with a stick and club him. You lure enemies back to your secured location. 1v1 is just people with ego, and not facing reality, cuz in a real war, whether game or not, its about the army, team, squad, force, party, whatever, its for server. If you out 1v1 for glory of it, then your not helping your team, just ask kain and fergs.

Just as a point…Kain and Fergs lost due to your sheer ridiculous numbers, not because we were 1v1ing for Glory. We enjoy 1v1ing because it improves our individual skills so we can be of more use to the Team. I know my Guild has had people Server hop JUST to practice fighting against different Professions and such in a controlled environment.

Interesting enough, ever since you guys left us Kain’s had a massive surge in WvW presence. O.o It was kinda strange…

Just wanted to say: The fights against Fergs have been awesome. All day yesterday on Vent with other Commanders and such we were talking about how the fights were so even we were even having fun when we lost! Loved ninjaing the Keep! Nearly had Bay, but sadly our PUGs were WAY too slow in responding…2-3 minutes was long enough for you guys to reinforce it completely.

All in all though, we seem to be fairly evenly matched! Only problem is I think we might have more coverage in different times? We were within 100 points of each other near contantly most all of yesterday, then I get here this morning and find out we’re a ways ahead. XD

I’ve been thinking…does this mean Chaster is “He who arrives on the Dawn of the Third Day”?…Because that’s totally fitting for him. :p

I think the biggest issue people have in WvW atm is the numbers…Why not have WvW have queues in each Map?…Before you can enter, people in the other servers have to enter. ie: There can’t be more of any one server in any map.(I’d be okay with a small variation…for example a difference of 1% or some-such. The only exception being on your “Home BL”, which should allow you to have as many players as you want.)

Were this implemented, I’d also want “Home BLs” to offer more points for taking than other BLs.(Example: Green’s BL is worth more points to take than Blue’s BL for Blue, or Green’s for Green, with perhaps a small “Buff” or Debuff based on “Place”. That way it punishes people for ganging up on the last place Server by providing less bang for the buck.)

I’ll agree he was acting childish as well, however, it doesn’t make your actions any less childish. At the very least you guys could’ve dueled legitimately instead of bragging about how you beat him when it was 2v1 cause some nitwit decided to join the sPvP Server with you guys.

Random Side-note: Why in the world is there NO option for a PW on sPvP Servers? There is no way to just go in with your friends and have friendly battles without random people appearing and ruining it.

…Chop…I was there. In said sPvP duel he stopped attacking because there was a Thief there attacking as well. You’re the one who bailed on the duel. He even tried getting you to go back and you just decided to gloat and brag about “Beating him”.

To be fair, the answer to Thieves has always been Guardians. I may not always kill Thieves in 1v1, but that’s because the ones I don’t kill run away.

Not a new fight for us Kainengs. :p You folks in Ferg have been attacking our BL forever. XD Aggravated the hell out of me that DR was so lax on you guys you were able to come take our stuff.

I refuse to take anything away from DR, the Server has won the contest in their own way, I have offered criticism(much of which I also gave to my own server thank-you, DR isn’t the only ones making mistakes.) but these were with the intention and hope of making DR better…I would feel much better if they became like a T3+ Server so I can say “That’s why they beat me!”

BUT…Had the Servers chosen to do so, we could have made the “Win” long and very painful. If you COULD have broken the Fergs, it would have been done already. This is something you must keep in mind as you move up, because you will run into “Fergs” more and more as you move up. Kaineng…well…we broke ourselves sadly. And anyone who says “Well you have SoS!” isn’t thinking straight…SoS is the greatest force on our 3 servers in my personal opinion, but it’s also around the least. This is NOT criticism on them, but rather criticism on the people trying to include them into the Kaineng “Numbers”. They count for a couple hours each night at best. That’s nowhere NEAR enough to hold much of anything.

I found it funny…because a lot of us Kaineng folks had decided that if Devona didn’t go yesterday, we were just gonna invade Fergy BL. XD But when we did go DR was already there so most folks seemed to just kinda abandon the idea.

You know I feel the same about DR. I am not just trying to throw it back either. Idk how many times I got alt+f4 by DR’s before I finished them. Also speed hacks I’ve seen so many. Its so obvious when your crippled and your still running quickly! Hackers are on every server. If you were on my side you could see how many in your server does as well. Just as I am sure the same goes for Kain. All we can do is report them…no point on complaining on the forums and putting the whole server down for the select few’s mistakes.

But of course when I caught Devonas jumping up a wall and into Bay, I IMMEDIATELY assumed it’s the whole Server despite witnessing it 3 times because after the first time I kept an eye out. After all…it’s OBVIOUSLY the entire Server that’s horrible hackers and cheaters. -.-

Seriously. Grow up people. There will be cheaters on every Server so long as cheats are an option, some people will just do it because the option’s there.

2: Great picture of us retaking our Keep…wonder how it was lost…? Oh right. From 60+ Devs. I had the Outmanned Buff when it was lost. In my own BL. Oh…and most of those people in that picture?…Were still there then, not our fault you got ditched by most of your people, at least you HAVE them to ditch you. -.-
3: Those look like the same ones in the 2nd picture…Seeing almost all the same Guilds and everything. And those Guilds(except SoS) are NOT that big.
4: …That’s in EB…and SoS. No one has ever denied SoS has absurd numbers, but they can’t really be counted in our tally because they are inconsistent WvWers.

No no no…their SEKRIT MASTER PLAN is to SLOWLY move up the Rankings. See…they think it’ll throw all the upper Tier Servers off their scent. This way when Devona -FINALLY- manages to surpass a dead Server, everyone will think it’s because the dead server went down, not that Devona went up. Then, when it’s least expected…the Devonas will rally and move to Tier 1 in no time at all!

Side-note: Hope Devona enjoyed attacking our Garrison for the last 5-6 hours. We sure enjoyed the loot bags you left us. There’s not much our 15-20 people could do against your 60+(Try it…just f’ing TRY to say you didn’t have that many. You freakin’ know you did so don’t lie to yourself. -.- Was randomly partying with some Devs and they admitted it, so no reason you can’t.)

You will always be able to take our crap…because between you and Fergs both attacking us, we simply can’t split our forces. Fergs are being smart and taking advantage of an opportunity to keep up with you and hold you back from going up a Tier. You guys are being silly and……..I’m not sure what you’re doing, but it certainly is benefiting my pocket book, so please keep it up!
