Sherlock, we don’t need to prove anything to anyone but ourselves. I’m sorry if you feel like we don’t deserve to be #1 but the fact remains the same. We prove ourselves on the battlefield every day. Its a team game, and with the TA and the militia working together, we are strong and a force to be reckoned with. Having not lost a single matchup in Beta (different server), 24 hour matches and 1 week matches should be evidence enough. Not saying we will never lose, but the track record so far speaks for itself. It comes from hard work, organization, planning (way before game went live) and dedication to being a top server. Anything can happen in the future though…..
The lack of an item generation tool is either Arenanet lying through their teeth or the biggest oversight by their development team yet, with the latter hinting ever so much to the fact the game is nowhere near ready for launch

Its hit or miss. I did about 10 tries yesterday and got 3 Rares. Sometimes I get none, so its just RNG….

Yeah, 500 isn’t as bad as it sounds. If you can run 3 paths a day, you get 180 tokens….
Use the Black Lion Salvage kit on the Rares for a better chance at more Ecto’s. That’s what I have found to work best. The rest I just use the generic salvage kit on.
Yes, I am sure. I personally made the change that went into that patch and it was just for the Weaponsmith vendor who was mistakenly selling tools for karma. I was also personally in the rewards meetings for every map, in which we planned which Heart vendors would get which gathering tool. Granted, I wasn’t the one who hooked them all up, but I just did a quick check on the database and yes, they are still there.

Anything cosmetic will be liked and disliked by people, as its our nature to have an opinion and like what we like. You can’t really make 1 item that would make everyone happy. That staff would be perfect for my Mesmer, so it goes both ways I guess….
There are Heart vendors in every map that sell gathering tools for karma.
Are you sure Linsey Murdock, I thought a recent patch note said that there no more gathering tools for Karma in the game?
To be fair, that was for Dungeon tokens which I assume are easier to ‘generate’ then a specific item like a weapon. But, its nice to see someone get what they should have gotten in the first place.
Make it clear when you start a run that you want to do it legit with no hacking or exploiting. If someone doesn’t agree then kindly replace them with someone who wants to do it legit. I am sure there are enough people that would do it the legit way like a real man! :0P

Not my first time, won’t be my last. Also saying something happens ‘every time’ is pretty ignorant… Sure 10 vs 100; 100 will win, but we have consistently wiped larger raids than us. Why, because we have quality players working together, and they have mindless numbers attacking every random person they see closest to them….

This isn’t sPvP where both teams are always going to be equal, you will always have servers with massively more population than others. Effectively what you’re saying is that those servers that score highly on the charts due to population do so because they’re better than everyone else?
Yes, if you have more points you are a better server, that’s what points mean and why they are numerical. Even if Anet didn’t come out with offical rankings, everyone would still know who won and lost and who was the top 10 servers. So it would change nothing. You don’t have to focus on rankings, BTW and just go and play the game regardless of rankings. But they have to match the servers somehow, right?

Not to pile on, but that kind of behavior should be expected in a PVP zone. You know the fighting stuff that people bought the game for and joined that specific zone to play in….
I am glad that I don’t have to spend hours trying to grind out a dungeon like in other games. They added spawn WP inside of the instance, great idea. And, then have repair areas inside the instance as well. So, no more waiting for everything to re-spawn and run back and then wait again for 2 people to repair and hope not to get wiped again and have to run back and repair, etc…They took all the meaningless running and wasting time and just made it so you can stay in the encounter and finish it fairly quickly. I would think over time they might add a new tier of items and Tokens for harder difficulty. But I think its pretty good right now, its not so hardcore that everyone leaves after a few wipes. But, its also not so easy, so you have to communicate with each other and be organized in Voice chat or something similar. I think they have a decent balance right now.

Please don’t ‘nerf’ one of our only useful utility skills. Portals are not OP, they are useful, and can make or break a good siege, but besides any obvious exploiting, they can be easily countered. When you see a giant pink hole in the ground, AOE. We are wearing light armor, so kill us before we can drop a portal into your group of 20. Stun lock me out of casting the exit portal, etc…. Plus, enemies are showing up as invisible in multiple situations, so blaming the portal usage is just one small part of the problem.
We had 3 people run CoF, all the first time in days. First, since the event near the gate is bugged, you have to warp/blink to even try and get into the dungeon! Please fix that. Second, We all got different amounts when we were done. I was lucky and got 45, someone else got 30 and other person got 15!? So bugged and it sucks when you spend your free time to get something and then find out all that time was wasted. Please get some consistency for rewards.

So report them so they can be banned as well….that’s about all you can do. People will still try and make bots/programs to get an advantage but the percent is low and they depend on us players to help find those cheaters….
If you want to be the best you need 24 hour map coverage. It has been discussed all over the place, but that’s the fact. If not then you will not be #1, but there is nothing wrong with that and doesn’t stop anyone from having fun and enjoying the game.
I know its not a problem for everyone, and yes some may call it’ first world problems’ but my server is always green. Always. I know, boo-hoo we won so we stay green, sucks to be us. But, since I want to get 100 map completion, some areas are hard to reach if you don’t have a spawn near there. I don’t always have a lot of time to play after work , so the few hours I get I want to enjoy and not have to try and travel across an entire borderland and not get killed. So, I was hoping in order to make the matchup’s more interesting, maybe they could randomize colors after a reset as well. That was people have a chance to start in different areas each week, regardless of 1st, 2nd or 3rd place standings. I’m not saying its impossible to get to all areas if you are a certain color, but it would make it easier and be a change for me at least. I guess color was supposed to be a status symbol or something but I don’t see why they can’t rotate colors as well after each new matchup, unless I am missing something else about the color system?

I don’t have that issue as a HoD player. I love playing with my guild and sometimes the queues are long but that’s what you get for a top tier server. Queue for a different battleground because I can get in in about 30 mins it seems now.
More rams a little further away, or use catapults to take down a wall and not the door. Thanks for the news, but this has been discussed Ad nauseam….
The server that is more organized, has more players around the clock and works together will usually win. That’s what has worked for our server. If you want to be the best you have to be dedicated and have 24 hour coverage, period.
PS. Arenanet have responded before, 24 hours battles are expected. This game is not supposed to just cater to NA prime time players, sorry.

They wont see the portal because they have tunnel vision of the door they are banging on. Always have someone watching the roads or sides…

He’s talking about the technical issue, not the gameplay issue.
If you load a massive number of players into a portal, the GAME will not LOAD those players onto enemy screens for sometimes multiple minutes.
It is a technical bug that is causing mesmer portals to grant AOE stealth (which doesn’t drop via combat) to an infinite number of allies for a super long duration.
Considering that is doesn’t happen every time, I don’t see a problem with it, at least as far as ‘disabling’ the ability. If your tactics depend on server lag then you are playing wrong. If it happens during a normal battle, well it goes both ways, so until they can remedy it, its just going to happen sometimes. The good thing about this game is they have a thing call a way point that people can respawn at and the game doesn’t end.
OK, a lot of people are complaining that things are unbalanced, Mesmer portals are OP, this side has more players, etc…I finally played in a match yesterday that was as fair and fun as anything has been so far. The solution was simple. Give everyone the same abilities, reset the scoreboard frequently and make gear and level of no significance. And guess what, its in the game already! Wanna know the secret…….

But seriously though, enjoy the game for what it is. You have many options, and regardless of what the overall scoreboard says, you can still have fun in your time in WvW and the small battles you face every night. The open world is great, its not perfect, but much better that some other more recent games have tried to be. For a month in, I think they have done a great job so far and look forward to what they will bring in the future. If people keep submitting bug reports and constructive criticisms, then they will be seen and hopefully the devs will make better decisions based off our feedback. 1 more day to the weekend, so lets have some fun! I expected that you would say something clearly stating that:
" Using third party programs or tools in Guild Wars 2 is strictly prohibited since they allow users to gain an unfair advantage over other players" no matter what.As you all know autohotkey is widely used for botting.
They guy is asking for donations on official forums in exchange for instructions how to begin botting (just a matter of loaded scripts ).
In my opinion this kind of behavior is unacceptable and this thread should be once more reviewed and hopefully deleted.
Seems clear to me. One button to another button is ok. One button with multiple actions is NOT ok. Scripts, Macros and other ways to emulate multiple key presses or keyboard movement would be considered illegal.
I think that’s from a Karma vendor in Orr, I forget which one exactly, sorry. Go to each temple and check, but I believe that’s where it comes from.

We have a great ‘Militia’ on our server, they work hand in hand with TA. Its been one of the ways we keep strong pressure on everyone we face.
Are you guys using Spotfire for your analysis? Looks similar to what we use here at my work.

I am sure there are many guides around the web with recipes and such, but basically you start with one material, put it in the a box in the discovery tab, then the others that can be combined will stay active and the rest will grey out, so its gives a good hint as to what will mix with other items.
I think over time you will get used to the new system and be able to better manage your resources.
