Escape from Lion's Arch content too hard
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: TDWIG.9712
plz help, content 2 hard, casuals are forgotten again…
It didn’t get the invuln buff untill the event failed so it was definitely bugged. We were doing no damage as if it was still alive with 0 hp. The boss got stuck as alive = true, and is still stuck alive at this moment.

I don’t understand the impression that all content anet releases needs to be accessible and enjoyable to EVERYONE. Highly coordinated, large scale boss fights is something GW2 was majorly lacking in, but was in high demand from a niche group of hardcore players that enjoy this content. Let those people figure out the event, and wait for them to come up with scheduled RAIDs you can fit into your schedule to participate in. Anet also designed this event so you get the stuff you need for the living story even if you’re not succesful in the event, so it’s not like they weren’t keeping casual players out of their mind. I’ve been around since launch, anet releases all sorts of content appealing to different people. I just think we could be a little more considerate and allow people to enjoy the content released for them instead of complaining that it’s not for us.
It makes me very sad to have to choose between infusing agony or infusing stats/utility. I want to be able to participate in high level fractals, but by infusing my gear for fractals I’m missing out on all the stat/utility bonuses. Now that more ascended gear is coming out, the stats that would be gained from infusion are beginning to add up. It’s sad that by building your character for high level fractals you have to miss out on stats that would make you efficient in all other aspects of the game.
Give it time, people will learn the mechanics eventually without the need of guesting/teamspeak. It’s only day four and we’re seeing more and more servers having success.
Never have I seen content that brought together the community more since the release of GW2. Last time I checked groups of people banding together to overcome challenges is not damaging to a community. I’ve met alot of people through this event and have seen more communication between guilds and people for pve content than ever before. The shared joy and excitement after finally taking down teq for your server creates lasting memories for the gw2 community, and i’m confident everyone will get to experience as we get better at taking down the beast together.
CD FTW! Awesome fight guys, was so pumped to take down the taco!
Many people in CD really enjoyed it, people screaming in map chat “THIS IS WHAT I BOUGHT THE GAME DAY 1 FOR!!” Finally an epic group fight. My entire guild seemed to love the changes.
This is freaking awesome!
Bugged Master of Baubles, World 2 Achievement

Looks like josh just said this would be fixed in tomorrow’s patch… we’ll see!
The reason there’s so many traps, especially in the first zones, is that it’s designed to force you along a path that contains the difficult jumps. The first zone for example is not very linear and lacks objects and terrain to make it difficult, and therefore needs to rely on traps to keep things interesting. The further you get in tribulation mode, the less they need to rely on invisible traps to keep you following the tribulation course. I think you would enjoy world 2 alot more, which is almost purely difficult jumps/finding out secret (challenging) paths to make it through the zone. Zone 3 for example is not at all a memory game, the path and method of getting through is made clear without the use of youtube, and yet you will struggle simply because of the difficult jumps required to make it through the zone.

So the month is almost halfway over, and still no feedback from devs on this issue. This is getting a bit scary.

Would love some dev confirmation on this still….
This is so awesome! I’m using this as encouragement for my friends who claim they can’t play SAB.
You yourself advertised Tribulation Mode as being “not for everyone”, “where lives are cheap”. As for the first part, people can more or less accept that…provided you keep the Tribulation elements out of the main game. Finding out the hard way that some things will kill you instantly isn’t fun. And while the dart traps are somewhat visible, not all of them are. Especially the Gong Pagoda bit would gain a lot from having them appear on both sides.
There’s a big difference between tribulation traps and the dart traps in world 2-2. Everyone has the capability of being observant and planning their route ahead of time to avoid the dart traps.
As for the lives are cheap bit, making baubles harder to get whilst at the same time make an Infinite Continue Coin available for cash is sure to get players angry. But I trust you know that by now. :-)
In just a few runs of SAB, you can muster up ~50 lives. I’ve also found i can get more baubles now than last time with all the new zones/secrets/digspots. Continue Coin is a convenience item for people who want to save themselves some time or support anet for their content. I think this is an awesome way for people who want to enjoy SAB who are not particulary good at it, especially for people who wouldn’t do tribulation mode otherwise. GW2 has no sub fee and the Continue Coin is an excellent example of why GW2s pay model is so awesome, especially knowing everything gem store can be purchased with gold.

The throwing star ninjas’ projectiles cannot always be reflected. Sometimes they only block, sometimes they hit you regardless of reflecting. The glove’s timing is off compared to the attacks, to the point where just sucking up hits and using the catapult is a safer tactic.
If you can’t get the reflecting timing down… just move abit to the left or right when they throw the stars, or jump. Best to melee them kiting in a circle.
Ninja that ambushes you and throws you off the platform right after you take the last teleporter, forcing you to start all over.
I assume you mean near the end on world 2? I’ve never experienced this after many runs… so i’m not quite sure.
Gong bit that, if you’re too slow, forces you to go all the way back up again (and try remembering all traps when you have 4 completely similar floors).
They already removed/made alot of these traps easier. But if it’s still giving people trouble, the extremely easy alternative is to activate the gong, die, and wait for the gong on the ground floor. This way, people who have mastered it don’t need to loose a life, but the difficulty can be avoided for those who don’t like it.
Ninjas knocking people off platforms in general.
It’s not that hard to dodge them once you’ve figured out their patterns.
Ninjas sometimes knocking off, sometimes not.
Again, just dodge them and don’t take that risk.
Instant kills in general.
Welcome to GW2, there’s alot of them everywhere.
The fish tanks are instant-kill zones.
It’s not a platformer without places to avoid. Just don’t jump in the pirahna pools, seems like something your average player would figure out.
Dodging past the fish tanks on the sides of the board reveals that there’s no platform behind it. The ‘scenery’ covers it up nicely. Tribulation Mode tactic.
Not sure what you’re talking about here.
The frog hidden around the corner, sucking you up instantly and (often) killing you instantly the first time you meet it.
They nerfed the frogs, they take away like 1 heart now. Also, things are supposed to be harder the first time you experience it. Remember when explorable dungeons were “impossible” at release? not so much anymore…
The gong pagoda part requires a completely illogical path to be taken. Again, this is Tribulation stuff that shouldn’t have been in the normal game (or not that extreme anyway).
In tribulation you don’t even see the traps. The traps can easily been located if you’re paying attention and planning your route in advanced.
The Storm Wizard requires some extremely vague dodging tactics in the 2nd part of phase 1. At least the Frog telegraphed its attacks.
It requires learning boss mechanics. It only took me a few runs to learn how to completely avoid his attacks. I honestly believe the average player wouldn’t have much trouble learning his attack patterns/how to dodge them.
Owls stealing our hard earned baubles, making it impossible to relax and take in the next problem. You have to keep moving.
Dem owls are trolls.
Having to go back and grind the first 3 zones to get the torch. It would have been less annoying if the ‘go back’ had been reworked to ‘known upfront so we didn’t have to do everything all over again’.
It’s literally 1 minute into the level, and baubles are definitely not scarce.
(edited by TDWIG.9712)
you completely misjudged the intrests (and skill level) of your target audience.
Intended audience for SAB are people who are into jumping puzzles/platformers. It’s painstakingly obvious based on complains on the forums that SAB is not for everyone. I wish they hadn’t already completely nerfed the difficulty of world 2 to make it more accessible for people who aren’t into SAB/platforming anyways.
-Some of the non-cloud jumps in Infantile Mode are rather tough.
I’m very curious what jumps you’re referring too…
The sword ninjas move to fast and require too specific aiming to hit (basically, you get 5 misses for every hit).
They actually have quite a simple fighting mechanic that’s easy to combat.
wait for them to lunge>sidestep/dodge,>hit twice,>wait for them to lunge.. repeat.
You could also:
wait for them to lunge->dodge,->whip,->kill.
The whip is incredibly useful in combat. It’s also required to grab some of the baubles like the one in the toad/dart room on 2-2 that you can only get with the whip.
This patch was a huge downer for me, loved the difficulty where it was.. ah well. I hope all the complainers are happy now and can go enjoy SAB.
(edited by TDWIG.9712)
Ah it worked when i didn’t use the stealth! Thanks [:
And also I can confirm it works in infantile mode.
I just attempted it, no achievement. I suppose the fix hasn’t been implemented yet, oh well.
I’ve had my newly created “SAB Champion” toon parked outside SAB for days now. Every update I’ve been anxiously awaiting more SAB content, and now that it’s announced I can hardly wait! My friends and I flew through the content last time, and are looking forward to tribulation mode to give us something to work for. SAB was such a hit last time, and for it to be created by only a small team is truly an amazing feat! It’s the content like this that keeps my friends and I talking about fun memories from GW2 for a long time. Keep doing what you’re doing, and let the haters hate! (:
Thanks alot! That worked great [:
Only achievement left is Light up the Darkness….
Has anyone been able to achieve this on warrior? Would love to know the build/boss you were able to do it on. Thanks
With all these achievement chests, I’m receiving thousands and thousands of WvW tokens and they are taking over my bank space and inventory. Is there a way to profit off of these or should I just buy a couple gift of battles to clear out space?
How did you get up there? Been trying to get up there for fun, trying to approach from the north..
I’ve tracked down the chest over 15 times now, I follow the skritt burgular attacking it with my greatsword steadily throughout the chase. I’ve yet to be turned into a raccoon, been at this for HOURS. Suggestions?
Yeah, we have gotten the rat-wrangler 3 times in a row our T3 bounty. We’ve failed every time because of it. We get at least 40 people in the map searching for yanonka with at least 7-9 minutes left in the bounty and still have yet to be able to finish in time. We have a large guild that would finish T3 no problem before the added bounties, can’t imagine how these new bounties are gonna effect even smaller guilds.

SAB > Everything.
The team working on SAB is a very small team devoted to making fun puzzles/side activities to add fresh enjoyment to GW2. They are in no way effecting the time/resources devoted to the rest of the game and I would hope that since SAB is so well recieved, it would stay as permanent content for us to enjoy whenever we want. (:
Yeah I think I’m going to wait for this next patch, and then just buy it no matter what happens to the price. I can only wait for so long…
I can guarantee you that prices will fall below 600 gold. I just can’t claim when.
This is what I like to hear, I really really hope so.. I’m just not ready to drop all my months of hard work and go broke over something that drastically decreases in value in the future… LETS GO KARKA CHEST ROUND 2!
Thanks for the replies guys, I’m just gonna keep watching the market I’m afraid if I buy it now, this living story pow wow is eventually gonna drop a one-time-karka-event-chest-type-thing and price of precursors gonna go way down…
Thoughts? Will price on precursors ever go down in the foreseeable future? HELP THE DECISION IS TOO MUCH
Awesome thanks, also is it best to kill them 1 by 1? or have separate attack groups?
Does the timer start at the same time you find out who your targets are, or can you start the timer after track down your targets?
So i just got the new amulet with a utility slot and was wondering if I could temporarily add the versatile infusion for the +5ar, and then when i get enough laurels, replace it with the +20%gold infusion. Does the amulet retain it’s identity as having a utility slot, or will i no longer be able to infuse it with a utility?
As the title says, when I try to download the patch, it starts at like 4-5 mb/s, and within 5 to 10 seconds the speed goes down to 0kb/s. I tried disabling bit-defender, and that didn’t do anything. I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue or knew how to help.
Edit: Record is 4% before the patcher goes down to 0kb/s
Edit: For whatever reason it randomly got all the way to 99%, then went down to 0kb/s, relaunched the patcher, it downloaded the last 2 files and is working fine now.. no idea why this happened but glad it’s working now. You can delete this thread now haha

Talked to tixx and tried to receive my gift, no loot, chest was already open when I went to open it. I know there’s other people with the same problem.
Really wondering if something can be done about all these extra festive hats, I have 6 of them cluttering my inventory in hopes of being able to throw them in the mystic forge or something…
This enjoyment guide has some good stuff https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Guild-Wars-2-Enjoyment-Guide
I couldn’t handle the stress, I mailed it away. >_<
That means the price has more than double in a week.. if the price is climbing at that drastic of a rate I feel like saving it is a good option? Then again if they increase the dye rate again I’d get screwed over.
Just got abyss dye… Should I sell it now or save it?
I’ve heard people say the drop rate of dye is “broken” does this mean anet is going to increase the rate again? Is the price going to continue to go up? 19g is very tempting…
My friend is having the same problem, it gets stuck at 0kb/s.
He doesn’t run AVG though. Please help
Edit: He said it downloaded today’s patch, but then went back to being frozen at 0kb/s.
It said on facebook they were “turning it on today” whatever that means. I’ve been looking for the links/keys myself.
