If exotic were still the best gear, then new stat combos is a positive feature since you could easily change gear. But once you’ve grinded Ascended, you feel like the OP when a new stat combo comes out. Yet another reason Ascended gear is fail.
Is this still viable?
Why do people always complain when something is hard and requires a little coordination ? Do people really want everything so easy and boring it’s just run in with a random zerg of strangers and beat it down?
If you don’t want to be a little social and put some effort in something then don’t. Let the people that do, do it. Why is that so hard for people? I just don’t get it.
It is the baggage of random, bad, lazy, rude, and otherwise unpleasant folks that often show up only for loot in a completely uncontrolled “open” world event. You know the part where you bust you hump to get the boss to 1 percent only to see 10 people Afk on the waypoint?
Stop crying about relying on others. It is not the end of world. You will eventualy get a good lane and get your achievements.

You should play a solo game. Your clearly not a social game player.
No, people that are whining about “relying on others” in an online game’s forums should play a solo game.
I’ve just got to chime in here. When our team first brainstormed this release, we went into it a little bit nervous about how the destruction sequence was going to be pulled off and if it would match up to the visions we all had in our heads, but the end product when it came in, just took our breath away. We’re really happy to see that you all enjoyed it too!
Major kudos to Matthew Oswald and the entire cinematics and audio teams for helping us cap off that release, literally, with a bang! :-D
For those of you wondering, are confused, or just don’t like what’s going on right now…
Mesmers make their own physics.
A good Mesmer can make a spell that summons, say, a lamp with an intricate pattern on the shade, and carvings on the base.
A great Mesmer can do all of the above, plus give it weight, and throw it at you. With their mind. And probably for critical damage, too.

I’m so glad I don’t work in the MMO industry. I mean, in most jobs if you make a mistake, a handful of coworkers will know.
In MMO-land, being human (a.k.a. making a mistake), results in tons of pipsqueaks like this squealing about it as if somehow their life is now ruined.
Because, really, it’s not actual human beings working to produce this game worthy of our spare time, eh? It must really be an engine created by horrible monsters who deserve to be constantly scorned by us.

Some pretty interesting ideas here. I was actually spit-balling some ideas on how to address this today. This has always been something that has bothered me, too.
For example:
- Have kits respect the existing back item flag. If you have a back item and you want to show it, hide the kit. If you don’t have a back item or choose to hide it, always show the kit. Obviously this makes it a little harder than usual to tell what kit you are using, so:
- A nameplate icon similar to Elemental Attunements would be a good addition (I may add this regardless if we can get the art )
- Move the kit somewhere else on your body. I know, crazy right? For example, who doesn’t like a sweet fanny-pack?
Hopefully this finally gets resolved soon, and I’ll do what I can to see that happen. Keep in mind, as Colin mentioned before, that there are some pretty beefy projects going on that are consuming our engineering time. But that doesn’t exactly mean we can’t sneak stuff in here and there .

I have a tendency to use Vengeance in a more strategic matter. As in if I’m downed a spot where none of my teammates could reach me, I’ll pop that up and move to a better location, then die right next to a friend in hopes they could res me when the time is right.
As far as the proc-chance of Rallying from Vengeance … I just think it’s too low that it’s not even worth it trying. It even sucks more when you’re soloing, and you somehow pop Vengeance, kill everything that tried to kill you, and still died because of no Rally proc.

There is absolutely no reason vengeance shouldn’t have a 100% chance to rally if you kill something in PvE. I shouldn’t need to waste 20 trait points to get something that should be baseline anyway. We don’t get to choose our downed abilitys. No other class has a “If I press this button I die” so why should we? Our other two downed abilities are pretty worthless and the only one thats worthwhile kills us. Its ridiculous.
I can understand why you shouldn’t have the 100% chance to rally in PvP without it being traited but in PvE its absolutely ridiculous for it to be a random chance.

I came here just to complain about this, Vengenace is useless. Sometimes i get a lucky kill and it revives me but 90% of the time that does not happen.
Every class has some ability that helps them get back up easily. Like the thief smoke bomb + teleport almost guarentees you get back up if you time it and aim properly.
