People should take the 5 or so minutes to log into the game periodically and claim the LS while it’s free. It’s not that difficult, and if you can’t be bothered with taking 5 mins (regardless of excuse) to do so then literally pay for it later. GW2 is on all social media so there is no excuse if you own the game not to do so before time runs out, they do give notice.

Tell your friend to either buy it and play or don’t. There’s nothing wrong with the system ANET employs. They need the revenue to keep putting out the content. Your friend should’ve logged on when it was free. I’ve quit many times since launch (and came back) yet I ALWAYS kept up on living stories. I would log in grab story while it’s free and log out again until next one. The system doesn’t need to be changed to accommodate a couple of players.

It was disappointing to see them running around with shatterer wings and hopefully they’ll leave sunless alone as well. But if not its ok. Just leave the ball caps out of it if nothing else. S1 is and was the best of GW2 to date. Sorry to all who missed it for whatever reason. Content yourselves with the odd item you get from it and the story line. It was a very busy time during s1 cos every 2 weeks was a new event. LOVED it and am so glad I was there to experience it all.

Well I was there for the beta and been a fan since 2005, but anyway as long as latecomers don’t get access to the items I mentioned I think its good they can access the rest. Just too darn bad they didn’t get to experience it firsthand and acquire the items through the progression Best and busiest season! And Happy (few days early) Birthday to all the 5th years!!!!

As long as people (post beta) DON’T get our beloved ball cap (beta) or Mad King (S1 Halloween) title then its all ok. Season 1 was the busiest and best season to date. You lot SHOULD have been there (don’t care the reason why you weren’t), at least you’ve got the story and a few of the goodies.

It does not. It shows that some guy went to a lot of effort to produce a LS1 movie, nothing else.

I appreciate that the guy put in some nice work here but taking the existence of a video as proof that there’s some kind of massive demand for LS1 seems a bit silly to me.

I was around during LS1 and although I’d like to be able to revisit it I’d much rather they spent their resources on creating new content.

I agree completely, I was also there for all of S1 and it was fun and busy but I’d rather they keep working new content as well. To those that missed out for whatever reason…..hey at least you have a better vid to watch now, sorry you missed out first hand. GAME ON

I was there for release/first season as well and the thing I remember most is it seemed to stay busy in game. Every 2 weeks something new was released and it stayed really busy for a year and half (content never got a chance to get old lol). Sorry all latecomers don’t get that great experience and rewards but I really don’t see them bringing it back as content no matter how many of these threads still pop up over time. A+ for trying yet again though. GAME ON

As always the Mad King is a welcomed sight in either game but nothing can top the first year Halloween Though each year is fun as well GAME ON

If you are missing the ball cap (deleted etc) by all means send in a ticket and replace it. It does not need to be brought back for everyone to have. It needs to stay a “had to be there” item. Leave a few things exclusive and not available for new comers. The ball cap should stay off limits. And yes those of us that have it are special snowflakes because we bought the game and were there. And ANET thinks it was special too or we’d not have gotten the item. GAME ON P.S: the witch hat was an event item not a cash shop item.

You were given the chance to work for those rewards. Why are you trying to deny others that same chance? Are you just a more important player? Hell no. Every player deserves equal access to rewards like that.

Try guesting to another server, there’s usually always one open elsewhere (Cathedral). Guest to medium or high lvl servers (try black gate). You’re allowed 2 servers every 24 hours. GAME ON

Megaservers negate the need to do that in pve.

OP, it’s a question of timing. The Cathedral if uncontested meas it is being successfully defended. It’s just a case of constantly checking to find a map or a time when it happens to have been taken back the risen so you can get a group to capture it.

I agree with everyone else…go buy GW1 and earn HOM the proper way. I’ve been with ANET since 2005 and when Eotn came out, me and mine worked crazily to build our halls. Months and yes years of time were invested in building it. So stop wanting what others have with no effort involved on your part and EARN your rewards from GW1. Take heart, it’s easier now because you can just buy your way thru it seems. GAME ON

I was one of the lucky players who played through all of season 1 with all the achieves and rewards. I’d like to see a return of Dragon Bash and gauntlet as well. Although I wouldn’t want to see the minis or Shatterer wings repeated. Let something else be the rewards GAME ON

I still didn’t get my gobbler or witches hat :c. I know they’re Halloween items but they haven’t been seen for a while. Surprised they never did witches hat along with the wizard during the month thing.

The witch hat was an event item NOT a gem shop one. The mad King gave it out the first Halloween. Like the title from that event it should stay exclusive. People can beg for all the old gem shop items they want but event items needs to stay off limits. You weren’t there (whatever excuse) then you don’t get the item, simple. GAME ON

The problem with doing this is that those items are not available for people, and would just serve to make already incredibly rare items more in demand. I think if they were to go down this route with things like the Molten Jetpack, Shattered Wings, Spinal Blades, or Sunless Wings, they’d have to bring them back and make them available to players in some fashion.

They can simply do as they are now by re-colouring them. That way latecomers can have them as well but the first years can keep the originals. GAME ON

I stand by exclusive. Example: If someone wasn’t there at beta/launch they absolutely should not have the ball cap, and any event items received in S1 should stay exclusive as well. Be it hats, wings, titles etc. Any wanting it should have been there (regardless of excuses.) Again gem store items are fine for repeating but not event items…And yes this kind of post usually always pops up every few months when some newcomer sees an item another is wearing and desires it. So this thread will be repeated in couple months tops. GAME ON

I was there as well and have stayed an ANET fan. Although when Factions was released I did turn my back on Tyria and though I have all the games and xpac, Cantha will always be my fave. I still go back sometimes and run UW for the odd ecto and nostalgia. Some of us may still have a few toons in Pre from launch lol. GAME ON

And apparently it is special, else ANET wouldn’t have given them out. If things were in the gem shop during S1 then by all means let the latecomers have them but ANY event items that you HAD to be there for should stay entirely exclusive. GAME ON

Necroing the thread a tad, but does anybody know if Anet will re-introduce this hat (or Witch’s hat) again in the near future? I just realised it was in the store a month ago while I had a little break from playing GW2.

Given GW1 is 11 yrs and still rocking the same will probably be for GW2. Those of us who were actually around for 2005 GW1 through today will still be kicking in the games as well. GAME ON!!!!

To be completely honest NO ONE cares if you come back or not. You will have no impact on the game either way. Nothing in the game has changed nor will it likely. As the others asked why bother even posting? D3 is a good game in itself indeed head there and DON’T let the GW2 door hit you in the bum on your way out GAME ON

Cheers for the wing info, flesh wound…..GL Garambola give it a try anyway. I know they gave me back hats but always had the 3 sets of wings (shatter,dragon,sunless). Those didn’t disappear. GAME ON

It’s not as if it was difficult to get the first time around.

I got mine by:

• Clicking F on 150 piñatas
• Clicking F on 50 bonfires
• Clicking F on 100 fireworks
• Killing 300 holograms
• Double clicking 250 zhaitaffy
• Completing 4 story instances
• Talking to 8 NPCs during a story instance
• Watching a fireworks display in LA

That is about the same we did. The 300 holograms was the time consuming part. My kid was almost 15 when this took place. They got the achievement and loved the wings. But in a bank cleaning accident they got deleted with a character before they were ever worn. There was no wardrobe then, and the skin was lost. I am still hoping it will not be forever… Since it was the first such a thing to earn, it was very special them. If I could, I would give my skin to the kid.

So, please, bring them back and let those who have the achievement get them too!

Send in a ticket to Anet for anything before wardrobe changes. They replaced my ball cap and witch hat (from King Thorn) after they verified the age of my account. GL and GAME ON

Everyone is right the holo shatter wings were from achievement and the witch hat was from Thorn for first year halloween. These along with wings of sunless DO NOT belong in the gem store ever. Yes I have all these items but they were earned not bought and should be left as is. By all means let latecomers earn the wings thru dragonbash etc but the witch hat along with the title (Emissary of Mad King) and the ball cap should ALWAYS stay exclusive. GAME ON

Go to the beginning….55 Monks and Rangers did the Shivers runs and there was no cash shop and I disagree, Devona was and is the worst Henchie ever. Queen Aggro herself. Though I started in the (2005 beta), Factions will always be my fave campaign. Togo FTW….GAME ON

Would like to see my Holo Shattered Wings or Wings of Sunless turned into gliders. They don’t block view/npc’s and they were free for doing event is a plus GAME ON
