Nah already have em and luckily all S1 event and gem store items, but if others want the ears then go for it.

To those that are missing the ballcap….simply send in a ticket. Anet will know if your account is old enough. I sent in a ticket after wardrobe change and got mine back. DO NOT put them in stores where everyone can get them. Yes I am being an elitist here but we were there at beta/S1 and are proud of our prestige items (including shatterer and sunless wings).
By all means bring back the bunny ears if people want them but not the previous mentioned stuff. The witch hat we got from Mad King the first halloween should stay off limits too!! The old first year gem shop items can be brought back but not event rewards IMO. GAME ON

If it’s the Tengu from GW1 then yes sign me up. The evolved ones in GW2 just look too odd. GAME ON

I was one of the lucky ones who’s been in GW’s since 2005. When it was announced in 2007 that there was gonna be a second game many of us were ecstatic. We earned all our HOM points the usual way, thru game play etc (no regrets). Since the release of GW2 a majority of GW1 players can and have bought their HOM points and you can prolly do the same.
Though tbh the regular way of getting those points (thru gameplay) is quite good as well. Buy the game take the easy lazy way out and buy your HOM points like most people did. You can buy runs, food, booze etc and get those points. GAME ON

I’m also glad they’re bringing this fun bit back as well. As long as they don’t give out the “emissary title” or “witch hat (2012)” it will be awesome. It’s nice to see some things finally returning. GAME ON

Being Welsh then you know there are diff forms of Gaelic in the UK. Scots would probably pronounce it differently as well. I was quoting the IRISH dialects but thanks for the Welsh Gaelic lesson as well. Though they vary it all means the same thing in GW1 and 2, the King returns!!! GAME ON

The Irish Gaelic pronunciation for Samhaim is Sow-en, Sow-an, Soow-en depending on the area you are in. It makes me cringe to hear people (hollywood and non) pronounce it Sam-haym. Almost as bad as calling male witches “wizards” or worse “warlocks” lol. GAME ON

Many people which got their accounts back, just hadn’t (like me including) then not enough time anymore to complete the whole item hunt to get that flaming book, because characters were simply too weak and not progressed enough in the game to be able to reach all the places where you had to go for that book back item…

Who the hell back in the past had the thought even, that making the first halloween event a partwise lvl 56 event is a good idea, when most of the players back then weren’t even so high already???

So please, how many freaking years must we wait, until you give all your hacked players finally a fair chance to get that back item too !!

This becomes ridiculous, if this years isn’t finally our chance…and really frustrating, giving me if this year we get not finally our chance really the impression that, that Anet must give a peep about what happened to all the hacked players back in the first year of the game when everything was due to the hacker waves pure chaos for many people…

I’m not sure which game you are talking about but I was here for that event (and all others) and there were no mass hacker raids nor was the game unsafe etc. I got the book with no problem. Perhaps they’ll bring back the item for you and all others that weren’t here for the first (and best IMO) Halloween. Was a blast to see the Mad King burst through the Lion statue in the first LA. GAME ON

I wouldnt mind seeing the original halloween skins back up for the hunting. they have been exclusive for 3 years now, would be nice to let some other folk use them for a change.

No… every year this gets asked for… last years you could have lottery for them… or GOD FORBID you could have could have farmed your kitten off at SOME point in the last 3 years to buy it…

I was here when they first came out. I could have picked up the Scythe skin then. I didn’t because the only class it worked for was Necro and the Necro staff animation didn’t and doesn’t sync with the skin. It’s now three years later and finally there is a new class that uses staff in melee, and wouldn’t you know the skin looks amazing for those animations. There is no way, though, that I’m farming for 3000 gold. I have much better things to do with my time than that.

They should have come back every year. There was really no good reason for them not to, and never has been. Exclusivity isn’t a good reason and never has been. They would still be worth a lot during the off season, but not this absurd value. Also with the influx of new players, bring them back and let them have a chance at them. It’s not like anyone even uses that skin, I have personally seen it used, at most, one time ever.

1st yr halloween items are definitely prestige items. If you see someone with one you can bet with probably 80-90% certainty they were actually there for the first Halloween. ..

Except how you can’t because they’re for sale, therefore anyone could have picked them up for exorbitant prices at any time. Only two skins require you to have been there. I have both of them. Mad Memories and Mad Memories complete edition. Those are the legitimate prestige items.

I would love to see them bring the quest back too, eliminating even that because prestige is stupid.

Actually you were required to be there for the “witch hat” as well as the “emissary” title (2012 fest). Though hopefully those will never make a comeback, but the others items can return. GAME ON

Different people take offense to different things at different levels. There can never be a one-size fits all approach to online character naming. If I see someone running around with a name I don’t like, it tells me something about them; mainly that I should avoid them. If this is in the open world then I just let them be; they’re not harming me. If, however, they decide to come at me with abuse then sure, I’ll report, block, and be back on my way.

Do I think people should grow thicker skin? Yes. I wish my own skin was thicker, but you take offense to what you take offense to and I don’t think you can change that too easily. The key is to tell yourself that it’s just a name, and what does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Notwithstanding that, it’s actually alright to be offended – it just means you have feelings, probably unlike the guy running around Queensdale who has chosen to call himself “Kitten Kittener”, or “Kittening Kitten”, or even “Kittening Fairy Kitten”. Reporting people who haven’t showered me in abuse in ways other than their name choices really isn’t worth my time leaving the game and firing up a support ticket, attaching all the screenshots and writing a little blurb about how I’m so terribly shaken up by what I’ve seen. There’s Soft Wood Planks that need collecting, and I’d rather keep on doing that.

Agree 100%. There’s always going to be someone to find something to complain about. They forget that “gosh it’s just a game and I can turn it off at anytime” and that the so called offenders do not sign their paychecks or pay their bills etc. Geez just go on and game and ignore what was offensive UNLESS it’s personally directed to you. Though it does not predate the warcraft universe, GW1 predates WoW itself, having been released in early 2004. Therefore though the Charr do not predate Orcs and Tauren in their warcraft permutation, they most certainly do predate their playable, and thus recognisable forms.

At best, then, this is a case of parallel evolution/design. I wouldn’t even allow that much. I don’t see anything even vaguely tauren or orc-like in the charr. To me, they resemble the original race, though we have not seen the upright variant in these games.

I’m sorry but GW1 was released in April 2005 m8. I was there during that beta as well. WoW is 2004. I’ve been a huge fan of charr since the release. I made a tauren in WoW once that shifted into a cat……poor looking 4 legged version of charr imo. Charr are simply a cat/bovine race. GAME ON

It’s about the pride of having been there to earn these things. I stand by what I say … if you weren’t there to get whatever item for whatever reason then you shouldn’t get it later on. I’ve proudly played GWs since 2005 and GW2 since beta/launch and have every event item etc to date. I wear alot of them with pride. No I’m not special because of it but I am proud because guess what….I WAS there. Leave the old stuff alone and rare. GAME ON

No they should not make any of the old (non cash shop) available. I get so fed up with seeing threads of ppl QQing cos they should have this old skin or that one. Like Shatterer/Sunless wings or witch hat etc or yes old armor skins you weren’t here so too bloody bad you should have been there.
You go to any retailer that had a sale that you missed by a day and tell them I want this cos missed I it yesterday (insert excuse) and they’ll laugh you out the store. Rage if you like but if you weren’t around then hey you don’t get and that’s how it should stay.
It’s not about feeling special etc but the fact that you WERE THERE when the event or whatever took place. GAME ON

In 2013 you could get the ears for 200 Gems. They stopped carrying them in Dec of that year. If you weren’t here to get them oh well too bad so sad. Like a previous poster said they prolly wont bring them back (anytime soon). GAME ON

Just send in a ticket (for ballcap and witch hat), they can check the age of your account and they send you another. Otherwise like the title of that year don’t bring it back. Again send in a ticket many have had their caps and hats replaced. GAME ON

The witch hat was for participation in “Shadow of the Mad King”. It was NEVER in the gem shop and shouldn’t ever be. The bunny ears were in the shop, so by all means re add them but the hat like the title “emissary of the mad king” should stay off limits just like the ballcap (celebration hat) we got at beta/launch. Those shouldn’t be repeated. GAME ON

This idea has been discussed over the years by many GW1 players before GW2 release. I still think it’s a brilliant idea as well. I’d pay. GAME ON

If only they would make their anniversary events tied to accounts. Some of us didn’t keep our characters from Headstart or Launch, so now we have to wait weeks or longer just to get our gifts.

Then all I can say is sorry if that’s what happened. I like the system they have in place, it’s the same in GW1 and should really stay as is. GAME ON

LOL@the doomsayers. As another poster mentioned the same was said of GW1. I go into GW1 once a week and the game is still thriving. GW2 will still be around in the future. And all of you who are disappointed or whatever in the game always have a choice, stay and play or leave to another. And your leaving will not have an impact on the game whatsoever. MMO’s have high turnover rate, 1 leaves 3 more start to play etc. Have fun wherever you decide to go. GAME ON

How can you say NO to mounts just like that, many people would like mounts.

I don’t like jumping puzzles or flying gliding jump pads, or whatever it is, doesn’t mean I just say NO to them, many people enjoy them.

Then as I said go to a game that has mounts in them….problem solved WP’s and skill buffs are enough for GW2. Buy Nightfall if you don’t want to buy the 3 + expansion of GW1, you get wurm travel tho it is limited.
And the things you mentioned, jumping puzzles etc is already implemented in the game. So I can and will always say NO to mounts they weren’t in GW1 (wurms don’t really count) and just don’t belong in GW2. GAME ON
P.S. to the OP as well, I’m sorry to be so blunt but for every person that has or will quit any game there will be 3+ who join, so to many MMO’s the loss is minimal.

Actually I’ve read this post and many others. It all equals to I deserve rewards cos I’m a vet, I bought the original etc etc. The OP wanted to know if he could get refunded. I got my wings during the 2013 bash and I hope they never go up for sale. I have everything from launch forward and yes some you can’t get anymore (ball cap, witch hat etc). If you weren’t there then hey sorry but those are the breaks. Leave them un marketable. If yours were deleted etc for whatever reason try sending a ticket in….they’ll know by the age of your account whether you were there or not and may replace.

I farmed the whole MK festival (2012) never got any of the weap skins and I was fine with that, but items like the “witchs hat” or the ballcap from launch of GW2 etc should stay exclusive.
p.s. never did complete the Mad King’s Clock Tower that first year LOL

I’m with the OP on this 1. I have items I got when GW2 launched and also couple things from first Halloween I think should stay exclusive. You weren’t there???? Oh well, sorry.
I was angry when GW1 started letting post 05-06 players start getting the hats etc. Or couple other games letting new comers get skins (microtrans) that others had to grind on for couple months to get (because it was the only way to get it). There’s pride in most exclusive items you get because you yourself actually accomplished what was needed to achieve it. Yes I am an elitist no shame there.

I realize it’s probably because of wintersday events there as well, but, I went into GW1 today for nostalgia and 8th yr b’days, the first 4 dists of Spamadan were full and trades were over 200.
LA had 1 full dist as well. Also ecto are back up to over 11k each (13k as of today) so population has regrown. 2005-06 vets remember when ecto were 11-19k ea? LOL Anyway there are alot of people who have gone back to GW1 it seems according to the chats. GAME ON

This game isn’t alt friendly in the story lines AT ALL, weaps and armor aside. You have to be a few pixels off if you think otherwise. 8 lvl 80’s and same old broken record everytime. Let them fix that then I agree the game is totally ALT friendly. GAME ON

Just import the peppermint and wintergreen weapons (not skins) over from GW1. Although there were no rifles or pistols (those they could easily create as well) the other weapons were and are great. GAME ON
