Just to clarify a few points.

It is possible to take characters created in Faction of Nightfall to Lions Arch and explore from there, but I am not sure if they can complete the Prophecies campaign or not, not playing Prophecies might mean you still miss a lot of the lore.

Prophecies can indeed be completed by any toon made in the other campaigns. Outside (Cantha, Elona) toons just can’t go through pre searing. OP: All 3 games and the expansion can be solo’d completely with heroes only. Definitely recommend getting Nightfall, and Eotn (HoM) for the heroes and Prophecies for the Lore! Rune them up and build their skill bars and enjoy all the games GAME ON

Wow old memories but you left out the Greatest winning guild of all time in both GvG and HoH…..“Koss” (unless it was before your time then nvm). Those were matches worthy of watching repeatedly as well. Perhaps they’ll finally get around to bringing in gh’s and the old school PvP. A girl can hope!!! GAME ON

Well if this is indeed 1 of the hats, celebrate that they didn’t bring in the 2nd year “antlers” from 2006 GW1. Those were completely dreadful, 2005 was better for the yule hat and the antlers!!!! All GW1 vets know what I mean…..oh yeah and all the cute lil post 2006 GW1 ppl as well. GAME ON

I’ve leveled each class to 80 (almost all solo’d) and they’re all fully kitted but the class to stay away from solo is definately the ele. Until they fix (gr8 in GW1) that class it’s the worst for solo play in most areas unless you keep a summons and only kill 1 mob at a time. All other classes do quite well really on their own. Thief you have to kite a bit more than the other classes but it’s also easy enough on its own. GAME ON

Errrrrr…. FYI, GW1 only had 1 expansion (EOTN) I don’t know why people can never get this right. Proph, Factions, and Nightfall are all stand alone games. And I agree if you’re PVE simply guest, it’s free and the prob is solved. I guest frequently and my server is 1 of the “very high” but all they want to do is champ zerg, though that has it’s rewards there is more to the game than that. GAME ON

Have you recently talked with Evon? He is still on his office in LA, saying the same sentence over and over: “I thought that the candidate that spent the more gold wouldbe the one who was supposed to win”… lame.
Evon was supposed to loose from the beggining till the end. In addition , only people from gw1 cares about Abbadon. And they are (and will be even more in the future) a minority.

Awwwwwww is someone jealous because they didn’t play GW1? So many out there tsk tsk, you can actually still buy the games and give it a try m8. No need to be jealous anymore over the GW1 vets and Abbaddon fun. Evon FTW!!!!!

Even though there was only 1 expansion with GW1 (EOTN), the others are stand alone, I too would love to see some variations. !!! Make note ANET plz. GAME ON

I’d give up a few achievements to have a chance@ the goddess of body blocking (Kormir) myself. I’ve only had to kill Trahearne and Tybalt don’t think I ever fought any of the others unless I just wasn’t paying that much attention and only focused on the fights. GAME ON

The first time you kill the boss counts as an “unlock” of sorts for some of the achievements only. You have to actually kill him 4 times total to complete it but survive through 1 whole dungeon fight to get the mini. Hope this helps…..GAME ON

LOL agrees….try doing it to level 80 on 8 different toons…..this game definately isn’t ALT friendly. Here’s hoping they not only make a new class/race soon but change the same old story around a bit! GAME ON

I /SALUTE the ANET team for giving the King hillarious jokes this year!!!! After years of bad jokes abuse in GW1 and non repeats of last year’s in GW2, you deserve the FULL mug of coffee salute. The jokes are gr8 as is King Thorn (always was, always will be). Thanks again…..GAME ON

If you are talking about “Ascent to Madness” dungeon then there are MANY of us hoping it is brought back this year. Nothing more fun than beating up Ol’ Thorn for (8 years) of bad jokes abuse GAME ON

I hope it’s dropped to a kind of rare for 1 reason….Last year we had these by the bundles. There were just too many after opening only a few bags. This year I’ve gotten 1 of each in a week instead of 5-6 of each in less than a week. LOL there are still some sitting in the guild bank from last year. GAME ON

While I think it’s GREAT that you’ve (ANET) brought back the old costumes with the new (so old and new players can have)…PLEASEEEEEEEE don’t let last years titles become available. (No offense to any that couldn’t get them REGARDLESS of reason), just leave something for those of us that were around and did get them to have for ourselves. Create new titles or whatever but leave the old ones as a 1 time chance. GAME ON

If they don’t repeat disposal like last year,you can unload all the mass amounts of tonics easily enough. Just deduct say 249 of 250 into a seperate stack and sell the 249. You’ll still be stuck with the 1 but you can trash it or use it. I had over 1.5k in halloween and xmas tonics. Tripped up on that lil trick and in the end made gold off them. See if that will help….GAME ON

I still don’t see how this affects any pvper directly? Who cares what they’re doing as long as it doesn’t affect you? And no 1 group pve/pvp has special priveleges or rights to any area of an OPEN WORLD game.
Just mind your own affairs and let them kill each other or whatever they are doing. If they’re having fun or daily’s big deal. Unless you just need the space they’re on for more complaining or something. GAME ON

Did I miss it somewhere or will this event be back this year? Many GW1 vets loved fighting the King for 8 years of bad jokes (LOL) and I’m sure new players will enjoy it as well!!!! I do hope it’s brought back though because it was ALOT of fun. GAME ON

Wow don’t know which labyrinth you few are talking about but it’s a gr8 place to lvl up. Simply use ranged weaps since it scales you to 80. Your gear and weaps don’t scale but your hp does.
I gained 13 levels since yesterday and all i do is hang back and use range and dodge. Shame it isn’t like last year which had a boss in the center up the hill as well, but watching Thorn and his son fuss at each other makes up for it. GAME ON

I remember last year and lucky I got the witch’s costume although getting the Mad King 1 would’ve been nice this year. I also got the titles (for achieves) but the point is ppl complaining because something isn’t out yet. Give ANET time to implement everything, and I seriously doubt it’ll take midway through event for all the content. Patience is required because what else have you got? GAME ON

How many other games have you played that the company actually gets out and interacts with the players on their level for hours or even minutes?

I know of a certian MMO where GMs partake in conversations in Capital cities. They also respond via PMs and explain problems and how they can/cannot be fixed if you put in a ticket and you are online. If not, you get an email with the details.

I’m not at liberty to say which because of the numerous infractions I’ve gotten for “comparing GW2 to another game”.

ANET cares where other gaming companies don’t.

Anet does indeed pay attention to the community and their players. I have an ss of 1 ANET employee actually running with us for a couple of hours in a champ chase zerg. They listen and watch the conversations and comment as well, I’m sure, gleaming info first hand about the players wants and likes etc.

Aside from the “Wurm” and Siege Devourer in GW1 there wasn’t any mounts and I among many many more don’t want to see mounts in GW2 (yes old vet). You want mounts, there’s always tons of other games to play that have them . Here’s hoping they NEVER bring mounts to GW2, besides wp’s are faster You can always buy a broom if you don’t like seeing your toon walk or run. GAME ON

I agree with this post. I know for a fact about useless afkers because 2 stayed near fishheads and dying but people kept rezzing them even though they were told consistently that the ppl were afk. That makes them appear to be active to the game. (Yes I swore off the useless fight) I did go back once only to fail yet again. Ah well a girl can hope. GAME ON

Yup after struggling daily for numerous (4-6) runs a day since beginning I’ve decided to stop as well. We always get him 25-50% defeated and fail. Sorrows Furnace doesn’t have high populations anymore like other servers and you have to transfer to other servers for an overflow.
Grats to all that have beaten him and good luck to those still trying but I’m just going to sit this event out. GAME ON

Heh I’m glad the trinity is gone. I am and was fed up with the trinity and other games. Begging for any of the 3 sometimes waiting an age or worse yet never getting. Or worse being 1 of the 3 and LFG or being passed over because a specific group needed more DPS or Tank or Healer.
I say good job ANET and good riddance. I’m (probably) one of the few GW1 beta thru today players who celebrated when Nightfall released and we had heroes. No more begging and endless waiting. It was and is GAME ON without the wait.

I don’t know what happened to eles in GW2 but they are without a doubt the worst class to play solo. And before anyone says anything I have all the other classes played to 80 (so I do kind of know how to play). In GW1 even before heroes, eles could hold their own but in GW2 it’s sad.
Anet should really revamp the ele, make them a bit more durable and higher dmg especially for those that prefer solo alot. On the plus side they are good support in group play, but seriously tweak them a bit for those solo moments.

I also have tried buying gems with a prepay card and I keep getting failure. I checked activation and the card is fine and full amount is still there. Maybe just ANET technical difficulties atm. GAME ON

It’s mostly you and a few other people that want mounts. Many of us are against it. Guild Wars 1 never had any except the desert wurm for certain missions and you were the wurm. Guild Wars 2 should never get mounts either. Sorry but if you want mounts there are plenty of other games out there with them in it. Leave GW’s out of the “ride” games. The human won so the wp’s aren’t as expensive and gives you a chance to enjoy the artwork. Game On

Yeah I’ve gone that route but sad thing is if you buy a 35.00 prepay you only get 30.00 of that because it’s US based cards and there are exchange rates. I’ll be going back to the states to see family soon but would like to know where in Ontario can 1 find the cards?

Where in Canada can I find Gem Cards especially around the GTA (Toronto area)? I’ve been to Wallyworld aka wal mart, best buy ebgames etc and can never find any. Unless i have to travel to the US again that seems to be the only place I can find any. Thanks
