I hope you guys enjoy this. I love making character driven storyline movies for games I truly enjoy. I made this video for youtube several months ago, and wasn’t that happy with the output, especially the change in video quality., and Youtube lag.

That the Owl Spirit on top of the Owl Lodge is really her, and she’s come back to help rescue the other Gods/spirits.

I’m hoping that some of the older spirits actually make a return. I’m a Roleplayer and have collected/collecting everything spirits of the wild related. I play a shaman of Owl, who has kind of made a return. But I’d like more in game lore around them to come out. Including new spirits the further North we get.

I use Fraps primarily for video and images. CTRL+shift+H will remove the GUI to allow you to take pics.

FFXIV is consistently rated one of the top MMORPG’S. Never gets mentioned. It definitely spends a LOT of it’s focus on story, exploration, and detail. I think GW2 fits the niche between Guild Wars 2 and games like WoW.
WoW has only passingly interested me, because of the lore behind it. But when I look online and seek games with a large depth of lore. FFXIV and GW2 fill that gap for players like me.

I’m an Explorer by heart. I cannot get enough of even the places in Tyria that look pointless. I have at least 9 Screenshot folders loaded with images.

Nerd. I am a story nutcase. Especially on the Norn side. I roleplay an Avatar of Owl. Just made a movie posted here to show my love of the game, and the Owl spirit.

Grinder? Not really. I only hustle to the next chapter of a story or quest, and level up that way.

Joins with some adventurers to save an imprisoned unknown deity while searching for new magical power.

In Which A guild member seeks the Lore of the Norn in relation to the White Stag, and aids me and my Shaman, with a pleasant surprise.

The Crow
Is the Scavenger. The Bird that chooses it’s battles, and finds a use for anything left behind. If you find that something seems useless, wave the feather of Crow over it. The results may astound you. Find a use for anything, for it may aid you in times of trouble.
Leave nothing behind, or find a use for it.

The Raven.
The Raven is one of our Strongest animal spirits. He holds a special place in the hearts of many. The feathers of Raven, assist those in the arts of illusion, cunning, darkness, and stealth. Ravens feathers will guide you away from danger, thus allowing you to strike again from a place of safety, then going back into the darkness.
Trust in the Raven feather to keep you safe.

Feather Magic will offer you a way to assist your allies, and befuddle your foes. It is new to Tyria, thus it will change as all magic does in time. Take this small gathering of Mystic Lore, and may it find safe and prudent use in the hands of the Priory, and those who wish to help Tyria’s future.

The Hawk, the king.
This bird represents the messenger, the guardian, the bird of prey.
The feather of the Hawk represents the strength to carry on, to hunt and protect.
The magic of the Hawk is one of Observance and striking swiftly. When the Hawk is on your side, foes need be weary. For they will NOT see you coming, and in a flurry of feathers, they will be rended flesh from bone.

The Eagle.
Eagle is special For when things are at their bleakest the Eagle will bring you strength to persevere.
To the Norn the Eagle was a defender and aided Owl in escaping the maw of Jormag.
When a feather of the Eagle is given. Take it with pride and honor. For it will refresh your stamina, and health.

The Toucan or the Tropical bird.
This bird is deemed to be VERY beautiful, and very colorful.
The feathers of this totem demand attention. The shout magic of the Druids
Is where it’s power lies. The ability to inspire your allies to greatness.
This is where Pristine feathers shine most brightly.

The Osprey, a Bird of the coast and waters. Found worldwide.
She is known as the Beacon or the bird of journeys and travels.

Her spells revolve around being free, and making long journeys short, particularly around coastal areas. Her spells will also help feed you with a bounty of fish from the sea. She provides and Guides.

In Tyria there are several birds of power. Some birds are powerful than others It was my task to track them down and learn from them what I could. Let us begin.

Each Practitioner of Feather Magic has a particular avian they are most in tune with.
THAT will be their Totem.
I am a Shaman of Owl. My focus item is the Snowy Owl Feather. That is my focus, and the method I need to channel my spells.

Along with your totem feather you will require a number of Pristine feathers. These will be offered to you by the animal you most relate to, and have chosen as YOUR totem.
Realize however, that the more powerful the spell the more Pristine Feathers you will require. You also cannot harm the animal from which the feathers come from. If the totem agrees or is in tune with your motives, the feathers will come.

For the Norn, Owl represents Wisdom, knowledge, patience, healing.

Spells of this sort are designed to aid those in need, with soothing, and lore. To assist as needed.

Feather Magic.

Feather Magic has found a new foothold in Tyria with the rise of the immense magic released by the dragons awakenings. But very few study such things. I am the first.
Thus the danger and prestige is mine.

What is feather magic?
Feathers are used by nature to promote protection and communications. They are representative of the air, and those that thrive in it. However not all feathers are the same.
In the fight against the elder dragons. The caretakers of the skies will be needed to bring about the end of the mighty beasts.

A treatise on feather magic.
It’s been many moons since I had the dream sent from the Dragon Jormag.
In the dream the dragon tried to put fear in my body. It had almost succeeded. But facing the gaping maw I began to feel a deeper sensation overriding my fear.

A sense of hope against the darkness.

I’d learn a deep lesson on my journey as a Shaman of Owl. Unity and family are what saved the Norn, some sacrificed so that others lived.

Those that lived, had to learn methods of fighting Dragon, until one comes along to slay it forever.

As part of my Journey, My Mentor Ulgadis sent me on a journey of discovery.
I have discovered something which I will share with the Priory.

I think so also. But it kinda throws off the Lore if this is ACTUALLY Owl, or a piece of Owl.
That’s what I’d like to see Anet answer.
Owl is a lesser spirit, but she plays a huge part in Norn lore, especially since she lead the other Spirits to delay Jormag.

I play and RP an Owl themed Norn druid.
Is the owl atop the Abattoir/Lodge a returned owl or is this a new Owl, created from the Feather that fell when Jormag devoured the Owl Spirit during the exodus?

Is there to be any clarity on the possible return of Owl? Or is this a new Owl Spirit?
I’m vested in the Norn Spirits of the Wild, particularly Owl herself, So i’d like to know.

The Kurzick elite and standard Ritualist armour comes to mind. Love those sets.
The Flowing Monk set also.

more armor choices, and I mean real choices. no more jackets/coats/long drapes for medium armor. Leather Harnesses for males, more form fitting armor, things that could be useful for a barbarian available for all races, not just norn or charr.
We guys also want to feel sexy sometimes ;o
And as for new places, I’d LOVE a dark sinister city, with a dark victorian england vibe to it. Also haunted places, haunted houses, haunted ships, haunted graveyard, sinister and dark forests, creepy tower ruins, creepy towns, BRING ON THE CREEPY!

So much this. I also want a real return of the Lost Spirits and Old gods. Give us more Racial based storylines, and adventures.

The Owl Spirit had to have been recently added when the changes to legendary changes were made. But It is an Owl Spirit up there. I want to know more about it.
Come on Anet, lets do this.

I need an Owl themed version of Nevermore.

Kurzick Ritualist set, Elite or normal versions.

I’m hoping the Spirits, and perhaps the Gods make a return. But i’d like to know Is that Owl on top of the Abattoir, or another spirit in her form. Perhaps the last Havroun of Owl. taking her form.

Which has me wondering, Because there IS an Owl spirit upon Owl’s Abattoir. I’m wondering if this is a new aspect of Owl, or just another Spirit to take her place?

Before I begin I want to say I am a bit biased. In real life The owl is something I’d consider my spirit animal, even though I’m not religious at all.
In Game however I’ve latched onto the lore of the Norn Spirits. Particularly Owl.
My new main Roleplays as a new Owl Shaman, named Owl Woman.

I’m currently enjoying collecting as man of the Owl related items in game.
Recently I’ve decided to pursue my Legendary, Howler, and perhaps Nevermore.
During the quest for Howler, I discovered the Owl Spirit atop Owl’s abattoir.
I’m wondering is this Owl returned to Tyria?
Is this Owl, returned, but reborn as a new Owl Spirit?
Will Owl’s loss to Jormag ever be resolved?
I’d love to see the lost spirits return in a Living world tale or series of storyline quests.
Since owl does play a prominent role in the Norn culture, even though she’s a lesser spirit. Perhaps more items, and clothing in honor of her memory?

I’d love to see some of the other spirits return, such as Otter, and Minotaur.
I’d like to see something from Anet on the Spirits of the wild, and even the return of the Human gods.

I’m wondering if the Dragons return have weakened all the gods in some fashion.

Any other Owl fans out there want to share their thoughts or weigh in?

My Support build is based on bleeds, blinds, and heals.
So I use Owls, and Ravens. It’s also part of my RP build. Works great in pve. Also great for my pet tanking, and tanking aggro.

Pulled back from the brink. I gathered my wits.
Next I gathered my staff. That’s when I noticed the other beings running past me.
Now I understood. Now I see why this dream dragon had so easily taken me down, taken US down.
The Norn had stood alone when Jormag arrived. When it chased us from the Far Shiverpeaks.
This dream, or prophecy. We could defeat the dragons, but not as only Norn, or Humans, Or Asura.
But as Tyrians.

From the teachings of Owl.

“To hear Bear or Wolf is to know fear, for their enemies cannot overcome them. To hear Owl is to know peace, for her enemies will never hear her coming.”

Just as I felt the last of my Strength leave. Some mystic energy appeared. Spearing the creature In the torso.
Also filling me with renewed vigor.
The tell tale sign of the Mists were present.

It backed away then raised its arms. A giant talon-ed claw hung above my head.
Ancient magic shone. I could feel my essence being drained.
This truly was the end.

It leaned closer to me, that icy, scaly head. That gleaming eye, it grew so close to me.
In my downed state, there was nothing I could do.

I could feel it’s presence in my head.
Whispering dark things.
“Who do you think you are small Norn?”
“Do you think you are Owl? Don’t your stories tell you what happened the day your weak spirit tried to save your people?”
“GET.OUT.OF.MY.HEAD!”
“I devoured your silly spirit, just as I shall devour you!”

The Dragon was not about to let me escape it’s clutches.
I was on my way to becoming the next generation of Owl Shamans.
Something that had not happened in decades. Even Ulgadis for all
her devotion to Owl, had only a smidgen of the magical powers
growing within me.
Had Jormag sensed the magics in me? Had it sensed the sensation of
a foe it thought it had devoured?
I felt impending doom.
Was that gaping maw the last thing Owl saw before her death?

Fear gripped me as my Norn pride fled in the face of such evil.
This was the creature that devoured Owl, a Spirit of the Wild.
What chance did I have against such power?
I turned to flee…

I next found myself standing upon the one same bluff I had only just been observing.
BY THE SPIRITS, NO!
Jormag was upon me.

As she destroyed the foul totem. The magic of the dragon lifted the icy structure into the sky..
But as it did so. I suddenly began to feel weak and dizzy.
As if the dragon was somehow trying to influence me.
What was happening.. to.. me?
“UGH!”
A moment later I could feel myself overlooking a bluff.
Where was I?
The sky was so strange. Eldritch energies swirled about.
Wait!
I recognize this place.Frostgorge sound.. why was I here?
A Snow Owl?
Not my Spirit companion, but another. What is she looking at?

As we were finishing up our rounds, We noticed that an Ice Structure had form.. NO!
A totem to Dragon! This cannot be!
How could, how DARE, the Svanir place this despicable totem to that creature near Owls Abattoir?

Ulgadis informed me that she would use her Shamanic Spells to destroy the foul thing.
Anger welled up in my normally pacifistic nature. Anger at Dragon.
She set about her ritual.

But before she could begin. The Icy voice of the Son of Svanir Shaman called to us.
We engaged the powerful Shaman in battle. My Spirit Owl attacked along with Ulgadis, while I used my support magics from a distance. We defeated him after a hard fight.

The next thing I recall is Walking alongside my Mentor Ulgadis as we patrolled the ruins, caring for the sacred Owls.
It is a task that I take seriously. If we are to Keep the memory of Owl alive, and hope to one day return her to the world, we must care for and protect these last remnants of her.

I don’t know how it all started.
All I remember was waking up in the dream.
Owl’s Abattoir was off in the distance. From this vantage.
I would swear I saw something sitting, no perched, at the top of the Abattoir.
Is that….?

I just sent in a bug report also about lost levels items and money. I tried to enter my story area and login crashed. wiping all the gains I had made. Is there a way to recover these things? I have Screenshot of before and after. I’ll post them both.
