Any chance we can see some changes to Cliffside and Underwater Ruins fractals? They’re much more difficult to complete than other fractals and it really shows at high levels where Mistlock Instabilities compound matters. With Cliffside it’s the arms portion where people are getting hit so hard and rapidly and with underwater the fight just takes so long that there’s too many opportunities for someone to make an error and there seems to be a bug where the jellyfish’s HP resets anyway even if there is still a player alive.

Be angry about legendary weapons, sure, but how about the recent drought of content? That kind of thing happens when we spread ourselves too thin, and when we let the content development pipeline empty out so we can fight fires.

If the team is spread to thin isn’t that really a sign that the team is too small to handle the scope of the game and that more should be hired?

I personally was really looking forward to the hammer legendary as I use hammer on all 4 professions that can and I don’t care for Juggernaut. I decided to start making Bolt today, but even that’s somewhat a disappointment for the simple fact that tempest didn’t get sword like it should have and everyone wanted. Some leap finishers would have gone great with the aura-focused elite spec.

I understand that they feel it turned out to be a bad idea ultimately, but I feel they should still finish the set (hire more people if they have to) and just not do it again if it’s so problematic. We were promised a full set and some of the current legendaries aren’t even appealing for a lot of people so it would be best if they had a choice between 2 legendaries for each.

Please be considerate enough to let us buy Divine envelopes in batches of 5 and 10; there’s no reason not to and double clicking 16 times would be bad enough without the “are you sure” popup that is there despite being able to sell back on TP For a profit. This is incredibly tedious and contributes to repetitive motion injury.

IMO people are going about this the wrong way. I would instead unlock elite specializations for the account at LV80. That would allow people to roll out a new character to level as the elite spec without causing trouble for new players.

I can confirm this applies to both taunt from the beastly warden trait and taunts from the berserker warrior specialization, though I can’t confirm if resistance is what conditional modifier results in this behavior at this time.

While many of the primal bursts are cool, the GS one feels completely out of place. The greatsword on warrior is about as direct damage as it gets and the burning makes no sense.

Immobilize also doesn’t currently affect the defiance bar currently. I’m somewhat of two minds on this condition, though- as it effects only movement, a lot of bosses aren’t punished by it, but it can be exploitative for melee bosses, especially in coordinated, small-group situations like dungeons or fractals.

There are many mobs that you pretty much have to immobilize or that taking it away would be very detrimental (mainly in open world where encounters scale). I would just leave it separate from defiance and any mobs that you feel are too abusable.

I’ve spent a total of at least 6-7 hours in WvW since the collection achievements were added and I have every spoon but this one. I even stacked MF for a couple hours at least. What am I doing wrong?

I got this achievement today while killing stuff around the north cannons during the first battery event. The achievement awarded when the canon fired. This may have been a fluke or a way to get the achieve to work; I suggest others test it further.

I’m still unclear here’s another couple examples of other situations:

1. I’ve climbed up somewhere that mobs can’t reach and am going to town on mobs while other people are down there getting hit by them.

2. A specific example to illustrate a general situation here; in the Aetherblade Fractal in the last room with Frizz it is a common tactic for people to go stack in a corner with stability and dodge roll forcefields while burning the mobs. They still run over and hit you and you can still get hit by one of the forcefields and a lot of people fail at doing the boss that way.

I didn’t read the whole thread, but one major issue imo is that the NPC’s don’t talk to the PC in voiceover; nearly all of the interaction we have with them is through choosing to walk over to them, pressing F, and reading text. Makes it feel like you’re not really part of the story and you’re just tagging along. This can be done without even using the player’s name or generic lines; they just have to walk over to the PC and speak to them directly so it’s clear you’re being addressed.

As I said opt-in filter meaning that each person can individually choose whether preventing unwanted whispers or getting helpful whispers is more important to them. You may be willing to deal with whisper spam, but a lot of us, dare I say most of us, find it unacceptable. I literally had to log out of the game yesterday because it got so bad it became unplayable.

I’m still not sure what you mean, but we’d still have map chat, say chat, team chat, party chat, and squad chat for helping random people and all of them exist outside this restriction. Also as I mentioned this would be an opt-in filter with a checkbox in the settings that is unchecked by default.

Pretty sure the gold-selling spammers would quickly find a way around the whispers-only-from-friends, etc. if there were any allowances to speak to anyone unknown.

Since you have to opt into a guild or add someone to your friends list to receive whispers in the proposed system there’s not really any way around it short of hacking possibly.

I’d really like to have an option in-client to only receive whispers from people who are either in my guild or on my friends list so that I could permanently stop the spam I am currently getting from [euphemism]. I’m not sure how much work it would take to implement, but I think most players would agree that it’s well worth it.

Also it would be nice to see a flat threshold for how many mails you can send within X amount of time (which is currently 2 mails) and simply increase it to 5-10 for players that are in your guild or or who have added you as a friend to hamper their efforts as well.

If you think the gold spam is bad in this game, you will have a really bad time playing any MMORPG.

I’ve played other MMOs and in none of them has the problem been this bad; you just have people spamming map/zone chat or /s chat and you just mute them or don’t display map chat or leave the area and you’re done; you don’t get spammed with kittening private messages from 20 different accounts.

I had to log out because I got spammed by 7 different gold-selling accounts during a single personal storyline instance. Seriously how am I supposed to enjoy playing GW2 when I get spammed with gold selling whispers every 2 min? There is absolutely no excuse for permitting the problem to grow this large, especially when it’s the same kitten message coming from each one of them. I don’t want to hear apologies, I don’t want to hear excuses, I just want it fixed. Write some automated banning scripts to get rid of them, hire more people to investigate gold-selling reports so you can act on them quickly, whatever you gotta do just make it stop.

How about all of them? Select the primary stat, then select the secondary and tertiary stats (no duplicates, of course). Sure, this would change crafting and ascended boxes a lot… but it’s a lot better than receiving a couple of nearly useless stat combos every year.

This is what they should have done in the first place imo instead of having this over-saturation of stat combos: just make each piece have a single fixed primary stat and you pick your secondary stats when you soulbind/accountbind it.

I’ve always thought Valkyrie’s power, vitality, and crit damage was quite silly given the lack of precision to proc the crit damage and the toughness on knights does nothing vs conditions, not to mention if you already have a lot of armor it’s wasteful (such as on a guardian, who conversely has a low hp pool).

I’d like to see power, precision, vitality for when you want some crit for procs, but you’re not building enough to make crit damage worth taking and would like some extra survivability instead.

I figured I’d go use up what PvP crafting mats I have sitting around even if I just make unidentified dyes, but much to my dismay I can’t use any of them because the consumable tokens can only be purchased with glory, which is now impossible to earn.

Please let the glory vendor sell consumable tokens for coin.

I was thinking there’s gotta be a way to use both Blinding Ashes and Stone Heart at the same time effectively, then it hit me; conjures! And since the FGS #2skill applies burning with a 5sec cd using it in earth attunement gives an ele great dueling potential. This could also work with Flame Axe since it has 3 skills that burn with a 15sec on each.

While I quite liked using the type of targeting system suggested by the op in DCUO it’s not a good fit for GW2. Also I’d like to point out that GW2’s targeting is a hell of a lot better than WoW, a game I’ve always had major issues with targeting in, and even gives you the option of using skills without a target and hitting whatever is in front of you.

That being said the system’s not perfect ofc and I’ve noticed some oddities such as times when it targeted something about a foot away from where i was clicking instead of what I was clicking on and I literally had to click beside an object to target, and there’s the fact that many things when used without a target just quickly slump down to the ground instead of firing out straight.

I built the exotic version of the spinal blades backpiece and when using a kit it simply overlapped with it so I figured not ideal, but I can live with this. So I went to all the trouble of getting Leatherworking to 500 and crafting a Dynamic Tempered Spinal Blades backpiece only to discover it vanishes whenever I use a kit, which as an engineer is kitten near always!

In the even this is actually intended:
It’s bad enough that engineers are stuck with ugly hobosacks all the time, but at least let us use our backpieces in conjunction with them; the tech is clearly in place for it since it worked fine with the exotic version!

I didn’t use them I never got them and I had like 3% MF at the time of my last message with support. They simply aren’t willing to provide it to anyone who didn’t receive it like they were supposed to. I have friends who never got theirs either.

Don’t hold your breath; my account has existed since beta and I never got my 20% magic find either. I made a support ticket and 3 GMs gave me copy and paste responses one of which didn’t even read my ticket until finally GM Barracuda answered my ticket:

“Can you please check all of your characters to see if you find the essence of luck on any of them. You are meant to get it on just one character and it’s available for the whole account. I consulted with my superior and even though I want to assist you with your issue, this item is not one that can be restored.”

Here’s a few suggestions for tweaking grenades and some other traits in this tree:
-Only 1 grenade is thrown at a time, range stays at 1500 regardless of traits. Base damage increased to around 275% of current base. Helps to reduce some screen clutter among other things. Maybe increase the explosion radius slightly.

-GM Grenadier trait is replaced by “Demolitions Expert”. This trait triples the chance for on-hit effects to proc for any explosive attack, meaning bombkit, minefield etc are now also useful for proccing on crit effects and the like.

-Reserve Mines trait deleted and replaced with Explosive Powder.

-Pistol auto-attack changed back so that is actually counted as an explosive attack.

Some very interesting ideas here. Would definitely like to see explosive shot actually count as an explosion.

Illusionary Persona affects a class mechanic that everyone has at all times whereas grenadier affects only a single weapon. Cleansing Ire and Executioner are most certainly not taken by all warriors/theives; in the case of the warrior you’re generalizing based on the most popular build and while I haven’t played thief much Executioner definitely doesn’t seem worth it in a condition build.

We feel that the engineer is in a decent place right now, but we did take this opportunity to scale down a few outlier skills in terms of potency. Net Turret’s immobilize duration has been lowered to reduce the amount of lockdown after a Supply Crate drop, and Poison Grenade’s poison duration has been lowered to account for poison field stacking.

  • Net Turret: Decreased the immobilize duration from 3 seconds to 2 seconds on the basic attack.
  • Poison Grenade: Reduced the poison duration per pulse from 5 seconds to 3 seconds.
  • Box of Nails: Reduced the cast time from 1 second to 3/4 second.
  • Box of Piranhas: Reduced the cast time from 1 second to 3/4 second.
  • A.E.D.: Reduced the cast time from 1 second to 3/4 second.

Not long before this post they talked about the fact that you can get absurd poison duration on someone who is standing in the area overlapped by the 3 grenades, especially if thrown at close range so the fields are close together. I tried to point this out to them over a year ago, but you know how Anet’s timeline goes…

Grenades are already being balanced around throwing 3 grenades as evidenced by the upcoming condition duration nerfs on them.

Whenever there are traits that benefit specific weapons (or weapon kits) they are balanced around having said traits and if the weapon is imbalanced they’ll adjust either the weapon or the trait(s) to compensate. Grenadier has no levers to adjust in its current form and is in fact drastically overpowered to the point that there’s no option to use grenades without it and accept the resulting trade-offs.
