At Verdant Brink, in the canopy, there’s the group event with the three Champion Mordrem that lead to the Legendary right after. The idea is obviously to separate the three champions so they don’t get bonus abilities, but it is a bit buggy right now. At the start, they’re kneeled in formation next to each other, unresponsive until their break bar is first broken.

Well, the bug comes in from breaking that break bar. If you land CC only on one of them, only that one activates. You can pull the three, one by one, making it a very trivial fight. Surely this is not intended behaviour, right?

Class: Guardian
Issue: When wielding staff, turning around causes the eye textures to “turn around” or just position weird.

Basically, when I turn around with the staff in the character’s hand, the eyes bug out and either turn blank white, or have the colored ring of the eye sit in the very corner of the eye. Not tried yet with other staves, so don’t know if it’s staff specific. The skin is the Phoenix Staff however.

And well…

The council doesn’t do kitten but cover their own kitten really.
In one of the lines, one of the councilors tries to murder every other one, and all the council does it “keep a closer eye” on that one councilor. The Arcane Council is considered to be a highly corrupt bunch.

Yeah the tier 1 Cultural Light Armor legs clip with themselves… it’s kinda ridiculous and makes a good looking Asura set look worse.

The Order of Whispers helmet Fraeg mentioned (the light armor one) indeed covers your ears… I wonder how my Necro can squish her ears like that and be comfy >_>

Their methods are highly disliked by most Asura, but the Arcane Council, the main decisionmakers of Rata Sum, tolerate their presence because despite their immoral methods, they bring genius and results that the Asura would not get otherwise. One of the Councilors actually is Inquest personnel.

Rác Ösni doesn’t sound…. near Asuran to me. It just seems far away from the usual Asuran customs of naming so I don’t know if I could really rate it at all personally.

My main Asura is my Necro gal, Ficca. Not much else I can say… except that it’s a bloody wonder if you can find the Asuran name you’re looking for without adding something like “Golemancer” or “Peacemaker” or such to the front.

For how big of a jerk she could be, Teyo was pretty darn cute. But the best attitude/looks combo goes to Batanga and the puns. Oh the puns.

Yeah, it seems to be a rather new thing, and most likely not RAM related. I played until… the Lost Shores patch without a single crash ever. Then I got one crash in Divinity’s Reach load screen, then nothing for a while. Then about 2 weeks ago, I started getting occasional crashes. They are still fairly occasional for me, maybe 1-2 per day, if that, but still noticeable. I have a lot older and lower specced computer than most described here, but I crash less than described. I’m starting to feel like it’s in GW2 rather than the computers.

And/or have 2GB or less free memory after windows is fully loaded.

Well I think you hit the nail on the head here…

My old comp I still use due to having no money for upgrading it yet, has 32 bit Vista and 2 GB RAM. Probably I need a new comp huh?

I admit I’m a big fan of the Asura, loving their culture and aesthetic more than anything else in the game, but it’s not part of my opinion here.

I just feel like the voices like Elexus Shredskin (thanks Drarnor for reminding me of her first name ;P) fit the Charr character’s look more. It might also be in how I made my character, a clear, fairly girly voice just doesn’t feel like it fits a Blood Legion warrior.

Possible… there’s a reason I’ve been saving for a new computer. My current one gets 30 FPS max with the game, and usually is somewhere around 15-20 FPS. Needing an upgrade I guess :P

So, recently, when I’ve changed zones normally, walking through a portal on the edge of the zone or using a waypoint, it at times crashes the game. It wouldn’t be that big of an issue, but when it happens multiple times per day, it gets quite annoying.

Examples: Yesterday, waypoint from Lion’s Arch to Caudecus Manor. As soon as the load screen hits, game crashes. Today, walking from Hoelbrak to Wayfarer foothills, game crashes as soon at the load screen appears.

Anyone else having this kind of issues?

Well of course the voice needs to sound female. That’s not what the OP meant. Sounding “female” and sounding “feminine” aren’t the same thing. “Feminine” implies that the voice sounds girly, happy, graceful or delicate. And Charr as a race don’t bring to mind happy, delicate things at all. A voice that sounds “female” doesn’t have to sound “feminine”—what the OP is asking for is a voice that sounds female, but more harsh, since Charr are a harsh race.

This is pretty much what I meant. The voice actor isn’t bad, she does her part well. But her voice is a bit too high-pitched and well… as you said, girly, for a charr. I really prefer the other charr female voices, like Shredskin in the Blood Legion storyline. Her voice is low and harsh, perfect for a charr in my opinion.

I do like the voice actor of the charr female, I do, but her voice just doesn’t seem to fit the charr as well as the lower voices in the storylines do. This is all of course just opinion based.

I’m still a bit new to Charr so… this might be a bit awkward.

Vakat sounds a bit odd to my ear, but still fits. Headhunter is a bit tribal, but fits the charr culture. 7/10

My one is Dize Bloodpaw, backstory very much in the works. Blood Legion warrior, frontline at it’s finest.

And as usual, my wording makes my message sound different that it is. I think too little on what I say…

It’s not the feminine sound of the voice that makes it sound not charr-like, it’s how high-pitched it is. Most female charr I’ve encountered have a lot lower voices than the player character, which makes it sound weirder. Then again, I might have not seen the possibly numerous higher pitched charr voices in the game.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The voiceactor is great and all, the lower voices just feel like they do more justice to charr in my opinion.

While I like the voiceactor of the player Charr female, I feel like it’s… not really fitting of the Charr. It feels too bright, too… feminine for a charr in my opinion. I absolutely love the low, burly voices of the male charr like Rytlock’s one.

Compared to how great those sound, I feel a bit… awkward about my Charr girl’s voice. Anyone else feel like this? This is not a complaint by any margin, I like the voiceactor and how she does her lines, I just feel like her voice isn’t that charr-like.

Not doing them doesn’t bar you from anything really, except the orders and their armors. I prefer doing them for the occasional upgrade in armor or weapons during leveling and the experience. Quite often they give over half a level’s worth of XP which I find quite nice.

I HATE the putrifiers in Orr with a burning passion. Try and run through the zone, searching for vistas, PoIs and skill points for 100%. Suddenly, YOINK. GET OVER HERE pull. >_> Reminds of me Blitzcrank in LoL

If you want to see how much attention the ears get, /dance makes the ears follow the dancing motions. ArenaNet put a lot of effort into the Asura animations and ears

Is that T2? And btw, do the cultural armors have stats on them? Or no?

That is the medium armor T3 without it’s headpiece. And cultural armor do have stats on them, but they are heavily outshined by dungeon armors to what I have heard.

Agreed very much on the amnesia part. It’s a very weird thing that Trahearne doesn’t remember the Sylvari characters. In the Order of Whispers line, you get a chance to help a certain Asuran Professor from the “meeting the orders” part of Asuran story. If you choose to help him as an Asura operative of the Order of Whispers, he instantly remembers you. Trahearne does not have anything like that.

For Asura, your first mentor has no significance in the game currently.

The only place where you see your mentor to my memory, is your home area in Rata Sum. Probably future story development regarding the non-significant choices will be coming

I at least love it. But yeah, T3 light armor is AMAZING.

I believe that in the Lost Isles patch, “(NB0120)Weapons: Staff: Mark of Blood: does not change your Staff into a scythe.” was fixed.

“Mark of Blood: This skill now uses the standard staff scythe cast effects.” In the Lost Isles patch notes, November 15th.

The game took for me no real time to download, since I had the disks. But the updates will take a while, and I’m still very confused why ArenaNet has the percentage of the updates calculated by the amount of files updated instead of the actual percentage in size done.

But yeah, Thief can do heavy melee damage, and has fairly reliable ranged damage with the shortbow and pistols.

Engineer is mainly ranged, but with some of the kits, particularly the Flamethrower, can work quite well close range. Just remember that the kits do not scale from your stats if I recall correctly, making them not so good later on. They’re still fun ;D

Well there’s one difference to my style. I went to max Blood Magic first, which improves my healing and health. I am a lot bulkier than you, but I am also 26 levels above you so I have more traits available.

I’ve noticed that with Blood Magic/ the power stat trait line that I cannot name right now, I am fairly tanky, my Well of Blood heals a fair bit, and the staff conditions do a metric ton of damage. :P I think your problem is that you’re a bit too focused on the damage, and so forth are a bit squishy.

Leveling as Necro in your definition seems weird. :P

I’ve had no issues with more than 1 mob. I usually actually have an easier time then. The amount of AoE and the CC in the staff makes multiple mobs quite easy. I’ve had no issues surviving 5-6 skritt at once, just with the Staff and Death Shroud.
Yes there is a fair bit of kiting involved, but I rarely have any true issues with soloing groups. Necromancer is the strongest class when it comes to surviving packs that I’ve played.

I mainly focus on Blood Magic Traits, so I may have a bulk of health and bonus healing you don’t, which might make a difference. But I really can’t say I’ve had issues with multiple mobs at once.

Necromancer is not a bad class. Not in my opinion at least. When it comes to soloing packs, it’s maybe the strongest thing in the game. Single target damage is not the best yes, but no class is “bad” in it’s own right sir/ma’am.

Nonlinear, you are completely missing the point here. The poster of this thread obviously doesn’t want ot roll a Guardian, Thief, Warrior or a Mesmer. He/she wants to roll a Necromancer or an elementalist. Telling him/her to roll something else than what he/she wants to roll is quite inconsiderate here.

On the point of which to roll, I’ve not tried the elementalist. But I find Necromancer a lot of fun. In PvP, the staff marks when properly used can spread a ton of conditions to multiple people and fear and slow them. You got a large AoE slow on the Scepter, and a single target slow on the focus. Unfortunately the Focus one has a long cast time. Also, if you play staff and Scepter, there is a combo possibility I find fun. Stack all the conditions from the staff on a target and change to Scepter. The scepter 3 ability does more damage the more conditions there are on the target.

I absolutely love the Asuran cultural T3… hopefully sometime in the future I’ll be able to afford it. The Tier 1 Cultural ain’t too bad either in my opinion, as demonstrated in the picture.

Hmm… that is interesting. I have not noticed that on my Necromancer, but I might have just not been paying attention. Will have to check.

I can see how that would annoy someone with OCD for example… which I sometimes feel like I have when it comes to videogames… kitten bags must always be organized. But I don’t think it’s that big of a deal however. And as Vekthor said, it gives more realism. So I do not think it’s that important of a bug, if it is one.

I’m not 100% certain of this, but that picture of yours shows your Asura in a combat pose. It is known that the Asuran ears perk up during combat, so I’m not sure if there’s any bug in that particular photo.

Are your Asura’s ears always in that kind of position, or just in combat? Since my Necromancer’s ears do not have any issues that I can find.

I’ve yet to try out the Infinity ball line, so I can’t say anything about this unfortunately :c

But I heard from somewhere that people were saying that that line was the most disappointing…? I hope it’s as good as you three say it is ^^

Kraken, the others have their shine too. A Golem Fight Club in one line and flooding of the Council Chambers in the other. Not saying any more to avoid too big spoilers. The ones I mentioned barely count as ones but whatever. :P

Edit2: I’d say the joke-line of the Asura, the one I at least find most hilarious, is the VAL-A golem. A butler golem goes on a murderous rampage and says things like “Polishing liver…. uhh, silver.” and such while trying to slaughter you.

Pretty much every reason mentioned here so far. The story early on, the aesthetics, the animations, the voices…

Zojja is so adorable… And Mr. Sparkles is amazing.

I just love the Asura, how they can be so over-confident and self-centered in an amusing way.

They can also look so serious and threatening, even with their small size :P
