Heheh, Tuccos – why not roll up a thief that can accomplish these awesome feats you speak of, as it seems you rolled a mesmer to melt faces like wtftuesdaybbqbarbeque and probably died to a thief in WvW which brings you to our forum – I welcome thee.

I would highly suggest you analyze your posts and probably take it up from there – probably ask a nice person of <class x> which you play to give you tips on playing styles as it seems there seems to be some issues with that as well.

No no no, don’t you go and take away my lovely spear! Only thing the spear lacks is an attack that stealths you.
As Gandara thread if I may be so bold and add as a general note for all guilds that please do not claim a fort or a keep unless you are planning on running a art of war buffs as it inhibits everyone else as you have claimed the location to do so. I know that having your guild banner out looks cool and all, but please if you gonna claim stick a buff up, +40 vitality or something at least or do not claim the location.

Try going to mesmer boards as apparently you’ve fought against mesmer and not a thief.
However it would be nice if the thieves guild would take your name and look like you plus would have some actual AI not to stand in huge AOE etc

One great thing about GW2 is the Heart of the Mists, which gives you free access to all the weapons, runes, sigils and named armor configurations, plus unlimited trait resets and all skills are unlocked.
Go to the hearts, “buy” (everything’s free) a set of Berserker’s and Soldier’s jewels, and you can try both side by side on a target golem.
Unfortunately as nice that the spvp part is, it does not really reflect into ‘real’ world since you cannot acquire the stats as amounted in the spvp amulets at pve/wvw side which is kinda sad. Stucked to run with 1kittenp @ 40% crit and 87% crit dmg with berserker+valkyrie jewelry exotics which is rather… sad compared to the 22k hp 54% crit, 80% critdmg in spvp.
I can add even a better fix for this, remove quickness/haste/etc from all classes and you are good enough.
After that redesign some of the dual skills to be actually useful and have tactical meaning / purpose.
Personally I don’t use haste at all as I really dislike the negative effect of not having endurance – if it would have the same penalty as ranger’s quickening zephyr not to be able to heal for that 4 seconds period I’d probably use it. As of now shadowstep + selected utility for any situation (shadow refuge/scorpion wire/trap x/etc) + signet of shadows provide much better utility and added annoyance for the enemy. Of course this I mean WvW, not really into SPVP personally.

Thieves still cannot restealth immediately after attacking people from stealth. The debuff timer is 3 seconds..
What they can do if watching from other person’s perspective is that they used blindness which can be rather confusing a newer players as it would seem that the thief ‘disappears’.
Yeah, would be nice to get this fixed and also the 3 piece bonus is not appying (+50 Power).

However I do agree with the OP that the rifles shoud be removed from engineer and axes are just too powerful to be in hands on warrior so axes must go as ranger only.
Yes, for 5 years I’ve been waiting for the nerf for this ability since gw1 and now my dreams are finally coming through! I would have used my reserve shadow form, however for some reason I could not assume it! But fear not brothers, we do not need any buffs separately as we are the assassins where other people struggle with the debate what should be ‘right’ and ‘compensate them’ for.. yep, you gessed it right, the over powerdness of the sneaky thief assasins.
If you want to play ez side, go with sword/pistol m8.
The blindess area works miracles in PVE, PVP however, better learn some new tactics.

One thing is what they should add that you can switch what kind of visibility your commander flag has, Off, Guild, Squad and All or combination of guild+squad – this would help a lot so not everyone would zerg after you if you are running guild team around the map etc or just want to be private and do your own harassment with few other peeps.

Ryston, please, show us your greatness with the thief, get some action going and record it and post on the youtube and show us the awesomeness the thief brings to shake the whole balance of everything as thief apparently is the center of everything.

The thing you started this thread of farce of yours centered around stealth ressing and stomping.. in all seriousness so you would take the last remaining thing from the class that would bring support (stealth resses) or the lack of stability stomps which many other classes have and way to counter away.. wow dude, just wow.
If you are against the thief and downed, hit by once and thief vanishes.. use your abilities what you would otherwise use. If you cannot bother even that or your allies are not interested about saving you well, rage at your team/party/voice chat with your face red and smashing your keyboard.
The next thing after your proposed nerfs is that you’d come here once again and start calling nerfs for the burst damage that can kill 100 man zerg with just one hit from 666666 miles away.

Duelist and rogue gear you can get as loot / buy off from TP.
What comes to Rugged set you can buy them off from karma vendors for 42K karma each in the temples / at outside of the entrance to Arah dungeon in Orr area and they are exotic armor.
It’s simple: we, uh, kill the mesmer.
But in the end it really is all about who is at the opposing side and what is your own setup. Bad mix and you’ll be biting dust – if you end up winning then kudos to you.
You are the shadow on the wall, use shortbow for poison aoe and cluster bombs for some good times – shadow refuge at times is fun too, gives lifesteal with projectiles.
Or if you feeling rich build arrow carts or ballistas, those are fun when having a good spot for them to shoot the zerg at.
Ballistas, can’t have enough ballistas.
Also remember to keep up supply from the supply camps instead of taking supply from the forts – and if you got a small team going taking up enemy supplies & taking back lost supply camps is a good harassment as well – plus killing their yaks.
Or if you see someone slightly off the zerg alonish with a siege and you feel brave can go and try to sneak up on the person and neutralize it – of course with the current glitches in WvW you might see a juicy target, one person with a siege and go in with full speed just to notice that you are suddenly surrounded with 10-20 other hostiles as well.. get out or get unlucky.
P/D was awesome build and fun to play with, however the damage makes it having the short end of the stick as you cannot use your sneak attack unless you are on top of the face of your enemy as well.
No it is not and the 4th bonus is not only thing that is broken with the rune set. Also the 3rd bonus +50 power is not applied either.
What I’ve seen how it rolls out is pretty much around 00-01 GMT the G.H peeps starts cracking Player versus Gates and around the morning time 05 GMT something the Blacktide peeps wake up and starts grabbing the places – which leaves Gandara waking up around 15-16 GMT.
Now this is awesome Too bad the teleportation skills in game abilities cannot even teleport you around a stone.
Well, as the trait says, “Stealing recharges all skills of one type (venoms, signets, traps, tricks, or deceptions).” – so it literally means that it selects random type and recharges those which of course is a bit funny and might cause some confusion.
So best results you have to get something recharged is to have 3 of each type and you’d still left out 2/5 types.

Well, thief can go stealth around every 3 seconds if he/she/it does not miss the attack of C&D.
Now this is interesting idea, only thing that should be there that you couldn’t join against your own home server in WvW – other than that the idea is very good.
+5 for the permanent guild upgrades and very good point moving guild to be able to play as a guild too without having most of the guild members stick in a queue watching queue dance.
Please remove the overflow popups one that says you are in overflow and the another one that asks you to travel. Then please introduce an indicator ball or something similar to top/left/right/bottom (or option configurable) where to display it and from it you can open a selection travel (if green) or enter queue / leave queue.
It would be extremely funny if the crafting would take a certain pieces of items which could be only found from Cantha and Elona to finish the recipe, now wouldn’t it?

You are all aware that this would require coding and when the mouse is broken it is impossible.
Haven’t noticed all hitted when used, although, only use it 1 or 2 times in a combat which is a quite lot more than I use DB which is never.
Just hope Anet would change that we could change the weapon skills as well as we can utilities.
A small suggestion to battle the gold selling spammers on the channels + mail & tells:
Add new option to the report list ‘gold seller’ and then if x amount of people report the person for gold selling add that person whole account into a communication blockout list which would work as following:
When that person sends a message to a channel it would show up to that person as normally that he would see that the message goes to the channel however in reality no one else sees it (but is logged for investigation) and as this blockout method is active same would apply tells and mail – however to reduce the pain and misery that one has to suffer if the person is in a guild the messages to the guild chat and to guild members would still go through – as the guild can kick if legimate gold spamming there.
Just my few cents and I truly hope Anet that you consider implementing this.

Oh please, you are dead meat when locked on? A thief can always get away.
And even when you take down the thief, if you do use the disappear and teleport in downed state and DO NOT attack you can hop around forever.
Especially the downed state is ridiculous, everyone complained about it and nothing was done. If you kill someone you should have a good chance of finishing him. The ONLY exception to this would be if you down someone and you have under 2k health left. Not spend 30 seconds running after a thief trying to finish him.
Please research and do actual combat first before posting in the forums blatant lies.
The thief teleport is usable in about 5 seconds after you down him and has a quite long recharge for you to finish him off after that.
The smoke bomb however is on a cd when the thief is downed and takes a quite good while to be usable granting you 2 seconds of stealth – if you are a slightly ‘in hurry’ not to either swing / blast aoe where the thief was to rip chunks off his downed hp or can’t just wait for 2 seconds and then just finish him off.
People have their PVP glasses on so even you state in your post it is about PVE they jump in and starts ranting about PVP as nothing in their fundamentalist minds cannot hold common sense.
However, I do agree that some cases in PVE as a thief it really is frustrating considering our very few defensive abilities are rendered useless by the NPC targeting system – sometimes ie. event spawned mobs even follows you when you are stealthed etc.
Yes, let’s start adding c/d to thief skills now too. As if initiative wasn’t restrictive enough.

then remove the teleport. hearseeker spamming thieves are unstoppable. wouldn’t be so bad if heartseeker didn’t do as much damage as it did and was more a gap closer OR it kept it’s current damage and gap closing but had a cooldown.
they nerfed hundred blades and put most of its damage on the last couple of hits precisely because it became the go-to ability for all warriors in pvp. you are a little daft if you think nothing is going to happen to heartseeker.
How about all you who complain how OP anything is, go and roll the toon, easy enough, just play the start sequence on your toon and head to the mists – then go owning anyone you see with so called OPdness – record your stuff and show the world how uber you are.
Unless you have noticed when you enter in combat with something your speed is slowed down even without the signet, the signet should work just fine – at least it works for me – as you still run faster than the other person in combat.
The time increase does not solve the issue, the problem is related that you are locked target to the skills that those skills check the target validation (apparently) only when you start the skill and not when the skill actually goes off. The 3 seconds (4 sec with the shadow minor) is fine – However if you consider what additions to the class stealthiness would come is to remove the stealing trait and make it normal behavior for steal to stealth you for 2 seconds.
At the same time fix the steal too not to activate unless you are at range.
Yes, please fix this, so one can remove the runes from karma items as well – basically renders them completely useless unless you want to lose your hard earned sigil / runes to them.
Yeah, this is rather annoying for stealth being defensive skill (ie. cloak&dagger, stealth heal) as once the skill is locked at you (cast time) at least from NPCs even if you move they just turn while you are in stealth and shoot you in the face.
