I play pretty much exclusively in eotm and the dailies are impossible to achieve.
I’ve mapped the world 3 times and wvw has reached the point where tc/bg/jq are the matchup fairly constantly and frankly not a lot of objectives switch sides after reset night.
Please tweak the wvw rewards so that they are achievable in eotm as well -
ruin capture – currently unachievable
veteran creature slayer – surprisingly unachievable
camp capturer – unachievable
The dailies before were a benefit to the game as while playing they just naturally got achieved (the odd random one like uw kills was a step out though but it wasn’t every day) regardless of whether you were in wvw\eotm\pve. The new system is actually interrupting my playstyle in order to beetle off and do things completely out of my daily routine (which I don’t enjoy, having experienced all the content I know what i want to do with my time ingame)
So please tweak the wvw achieves to be possible in eotm.
I agree, wvw has become rather stale with the same matchups and the same places to build siege every week. Edge of the mists is a great fun addition but its getting a bit full of politics and people screaming about match fixing which is kind of impossible but a map full of people screaming is an annoyance. WvW needs some new maps on rotation but as stated – anet gets nothing from it. I feel that WvW is the real endgame though, its where you just sort of get drawn to and it is a hell of a lot of fun. It needs refreshing and a tie in to the gem store would be great but i’m stumped as to what to add – maybe keeps get a different look if owned by your guild? different wall textures etc.
To OP,
You seem to be focusing rather particularly on the guild statements – not on the actual reasoning. Lets try again,
what do you OP want from eotm?
do you want to force people to take a keep you are defending?
do you want to force all players to the middle for a 3 way fps dropping zergfest?
do you want to win in your shard by ppt no matter what the other teams or players want?
you seem to be attacking a guild under a thinly veiled guise of saying that eotm is being ruined because players don’t want to play your way 24/7.
Please elaborate on what you want from eotm map, what your vision of it is.
Please stop throwing a personal hissy fit at a guild on a forum.
edit: oh and yes i do use the [eotm} guild as a ferry to maps with players. Its handy if you’re stranded in a dead map but i have my own guild and do the same for others such as tequatl and wurm, so no its not “my” guild. Also – if you’re staring at my name…you’re in the same zerg as me ktraining…interesting.
The thing is, i’ve been in quite a few eotm maps with [eotm] commanders and if the zerg rocks up to blue keep and its defended they 99% of the time say “it’s defended guys, skip it and roll on”.
Theres no reason to try and take blue keep if its being defended, none, nada, zip.
If you want to sit there on a sup ac for 3 hours going “omg, omg, i’m going to get those uplevels, i’m gonna kitten them so hard” and then the zerg rocks up and goes “hmmm, nope. lets just wander on” of course you’re going to be upset.
I understand you want to play that way, but the other 99% of us don’t want to be ac fodder and will move on, yep, you defend that, we’ll flip the map (which also gives more points in wvw btw and is a solid tactic – who knew?).
Are you also seriously claiming that that guild has commanders on all maps on all shards for every team?… seriously?
as i said in the last troll post:
who won in the shard i was in last tuesday at 9am? how many points? if its a serious match where are the records?
if a zergbusting guild like the rather amazing and incredible [TA] guild rocks up and starts easily destroying every one in seconds but caps nothing – are they “matchfixing”? are they playing as intended? do you want them removed from the game for not playing your way?
This is attempt #2 at trying to convince everyone that the eotm map is the same as queensdale train. Nice attempt but i’ve had great fights, amazing ambushes, heroic defenses and made quite a few friends. If it gets removed because of a handful of petty people it will be a great loss to a lot of people.

Well, its been fun but i uninstalled a while back and frankly kept checking the forums just in case things improved for a reinstall but after 20+ days – now fully walking away and deleting my backup .dat file.

That would be pretty cool – the zodiac skin for instance would look great if it affected the feet, the boots on it cover too much of the leg, losing the cool effect for a large chunk.
Actually it makes sense – these skins are bound to an achievement that tracks exactly which ones you’ve “unlocked” it would be simple enough to add them as wardrobe unlocks.
Having done the same thing myself when re-rolling chars etc it makes sense. I’ve bought the t3 human cultural in heavy twice and light 3 times as well as the heavy norn and charr. Those would be unlocked in the wardrobe if the emperor title was bound to the wardrobe.
tldr: already paid for before and trackable – should be doable.
You may have chosen a bad time to return – currently communities are in bad shape and tc is especially in a bad way. May pay to wait a while till the megaserver gets fixed in towns and server choice matters again.
You have visited the trait guy right? its now extremely expensive to buy all those traits and eats up sp like popcorn. New chars are pretty shafted. Its more expensive, slower, far more boring.

also – I’m on TC and boy has the community gone massively downhill, theres a massive increase in total kittens in map chat now. The friendly server feel has been extremely disrupted.
Uninstalled last night, will reinstall for sanctum or an expansion of some sort but community is dead so not feeling the urge to play.
Luckily i mapped the world one last time before patch to say goodbye. I had hoped but sure enough – everythings the same but worse.
Nothing really changed at all except now i can’t understand half the people talking and the awesome rp that i stumbled over once in a while is shot to heck by trolls.
Oh – and the lag…the kitten lag…
In the last few days of ember farming it was the same – 150 people waiting for event to fail, 3 guys making sure it succeeds even though the whole maps telling them to stop. Theres guilds out there just for doing this crap. But now of course theres no guesting to avoid the trolls. You’re trapped with them.
Not really, when a new model is created for sale the old model falls by the wayside. Support for it tones down as resources are shunted into the new higher profit areas. By adjusting times for the new market it makes it easier for future updates to not negatively effect it. In a business such as a shop old customers are valued, in an mmo its new players spending shiny new dollars.
As someone pointed out in another thread – these new times are perfectly matched to china, the new market, new money. We’re the old market they frankly don’t care.
They’re silent due to being screamed and screamed and screamed and nothing ever being answered or happening except maybe a “tell us 3 things…” so we see these threads and go “oh, that again”.
Lets break that down a bit – you think its a good idea to have traits unlockable by doing events that once done are unavailable until someone fails the event on purpose. With servers now merged so the area has 24/7 coverage and uptime. Welcome to trollville – enjoy your stay.
Thats a bit like saying “the people i’ve talked to at the equestrian club are all keen on the return to horses and no more cars or trucks or buses, they see it as a great step forward and can’t understand why theres people out there against it” rather dependent on social circle that 98%.
Warr is a great base to start from – its fast to map with, usable everywhere, great damage and survivability. Its also handy if you trait for auto stability use and the cleave ability means if you get attacked by four foes with a sidestep or two you can damage them all per swing. Also if you decide to do wvw later the auto healing and cleaving is very handy in zerg v zerg.
Also dungeon friendly.
edit: sylvari male is pretty awesome looking – go for maximum glow, night shade skin with purple or red or yellow. the cheap t2 heavy cultural glows at night and looks great with no helm on. if purple looks awesome with the tormented weapon skins as the glows match.
I have a pile of new alts all at 35 min, 61 max. Yes, yes its feels harder. traits enabled you to do things such as 25% faster move as a warr. Lightning hammer ele to blast your way through lower levels when you’re squishy.
When you login and suddenly you can’t move fast, can’t stay alive vs pve mobs (maybe you’re in nz like me and dodging is dependant on lag) and your chars can’t do the cool things you’d just unlocked for them after hours of play.
Why bother playing if its no fun?

Nothing new added to do. Lots of nerfs and cash gaining reductions. Currently wardrobe is shiny and people are logging in and checking it out but frankly no new areas or events mean you’re doing exactly what you were before but earning less.

If i have 3 hours playtime and need to grind as many dungeons as fast as possible in that time to get my next legendary – why the hell would i want people slowing me down? If a run can be done in 12 mins but takes an hour with “we must kill everything” “My staff heals are helping you all survive!” “With my pvt hammer ah guard I never get downed!”
Why? I’ve run this these dungeons hundreds of times, i don’t need to dawdle and admire the scenery, i have it memorized.
You are selfishly eating up my time by your inability to see what is most effective.

Can’t believe it anet, you broke Tarnished Coast. Its horrible in the cities now, i loved walking past an area and catching glimpses of people conversations
/me leans on the bar and chuckles at leonga. leonga reaches over and flicks the ear of the nearby sylvari “ooh its hard!”
Those little glimpses made the world feel more real now its just a hellish spamfest full of trolls interrupting with “/me farts loudly and the obnoxious smell fills the room making everyone gag” “/me grinds up against the barmaid lifting her dress and reaching up her top”

Thanks op, brilliant post summed it up nicely. Theres just nothing left to do in game except repeat play – wvw, fractals, dungeons. All of which is completely unchanging, same places, zerg same keeps, stand same spots. I’ve mapped 4 times now, love the world but pretty only lasts so long, gw1 had a world that was rich in story and lore and you just itched to explore it and learn more of the charr and the dwarves. Theres no lore here to get excited about, its changes every ls – now with krait and dredge! whee!
Unless tolkien was older that the official records state – the original elves and dwarves were from norwegian myths and legends. Which is where tolkien sourced them from.
Couldn’t you just place something with an outrageous price hike then buy it with acct #2 or a friend?

Its going to be awesome in lvl 1-15 zones with the megaserver. Right now on TC wolfmaster evaporates in about 20 – 30 secs of spawn.
