I love Mawdrey. But why did you make it purple??
Back in season one (!) we had the option to craft our spinal blade backpiece in different colors. Why did you guys not build up on that?
Why are we able to dye gliders but not the corresponding backpiece?
This just seems super lazy.
Which is important to a game’s longevity. If all there is to do is get somewhere very fast, beat something up, and pin on the I-WIN badge, why bother?
Exactly my thoughts. A big appeal of MMOs are massive open worlds… being able to instantly teleport everywhere, then teleport out only diminishes that. And GW2 already feels small to me due to zones seperated by loading screens.
Waypoints are boring as kitten.
Something that allows you to get into what matters: the action, faster is “boring”, while something you “can afk on” is exciting? That’s weird logic
It would just be an alternative to traveling by yourself. I don’t know, it would feel more immersive to me than teleporting around.
I’m not a fan of the premise of fractals either. They are fun to play, sure, but porting from instance to instance makes me feel disconnected from the game world.
All personal taste though and I get where people are coming from when they don’t want to waste time walking around.
I sort of know where OP is coming from and sort of… not. He thinks a more action-oriented combat system that feels amazing (like in Black Desert) would make people less inclined to care about how fast or efficient the group gets through the encounter because they are in it for the combat, not the rewards.
You say you get kicked because you don’t run the current meta build for your class and possibly the best food. But how would the group even know? Unless you screw up multiple times and evidently don’t know what you’re doing I can’t see how you’re constantly being kicked.
Waypoints are boring as kitten. We don’t even have a cool animation like in ESO.
So yeah, one WP per map and other means to get around: mounts, ley lines, hell even old fashioned “cabs” that fly or ride you to your destination would be cool. Takes longer but you can go afk in the meantime. I loved that in Wildstar and WoW.
I think if Anet designed armor sets in a more more grounded fashion then people would appreciate them more.
I rarely see anyone wearing bladed or leystone armor, except for the light versions. Carapace armor still seems like a favourite, especially the heavy set.
I think Anet went a bit too far out of their way to make the HoT sets stand out. You can’t really combine them very well with other pieces and the full sets feel out of place and impractical.
As for weapons, I rarely see anyone using machined weapons. Sure, the “engineer” style stuff was never that popular in GW2 but man, it just feels like a waste.
Same with chak weapons. I mean, even for my chak themed sylvari I prefer other weapon skins because they just don’t look like actual weapons.
But overall weapons aren’t too much of an issue because we have sets like Gallant, Cavalier or Balthasar that look realistic.
TL;DR: I think Anet should return to the GW1/early GW2 roots of realism. More spikes doesn’t make it automatically better looking! And save those glowing crystals for legendary stuff because otherwise you’re devaluing legendary armor when it comes to looks.
Would go very nicely with the hellfire armor set, so yeah, that would be cool.
I hope they make holosmith more viable for PvE than scrapper. If xpac 2 will be another two years of pp condi/rifle bomber I will ditch my engi for good.
Raids aren’t even much “content” to begin with so you are not missing out on much. There is plenty of content for solo players.
I don’t raid. I mostly play solo and farm stuff and I don’t care that I don’t get the shinies from raids.
You can preview all dyes in the dye panel
but something similar to bloodstone dark indigo might fit.
For PvE scrapper is a huge disappointment and not good for fractals and raids. It’s the only elite spec that is not really used in fracs/raids.
condi p/p and power rifle are good if you can get the rotation down but to me it just feels awkward to play compared to the other classes.
I don’t think it’s grindy at all. Bitterfrost frontier is especially easy and quick.
Pretty sad, isn’t it.
In terms of customization the legendary armor is worse than outfits. Outfits only have 4 dye channels but at least you can change the particle effects on them.
I’m a little sad to see so many people not liking the HoT maps. I prefer all of them to all the vanilla maps.
I can’t really pick my worst 5 but the Charr and Norn maps are my least favourite when doing map completion.
Can you see your back item when using the glider?
Tested that for you. No, you can’t.
I really wish there was an option to just show backpieces. I have the electromagnetic glider and spinal blade pack on my engi and which would look amazing together.
Can you see your back item when using the glider?
I want new hairstyles – and not just any
I’m ready for some racially diverse ones that stick to the lore. NO anime hairstyles- I feel those were just for trolling and that’s the only reason they were implemented.
I would spend money in a heartbeat if they released some black hairstyles instead of all of these straightened perfect do’s we need some beards, scars, tattoos. etc. in the mix as well.
I know that they want to do the actual game content first and so the people like me are always left disappointed every Tuesday, or at least every update.
My favorite part is completely refreshing my look.
More afro hairstyles would be welcome but honestly when do you ever see people playing black characters? For some reason it’s extremely rare.
the thing is, it’s not really lower budget any more. rabid is the good low budget alternative at an exotic level since you can acquire it without crafting. but once you say “I need ar” and you mean ascended, nothing is cheap or cheaper because mystic forge stat conversion makes all the prices about the same.
I just checked again and it seems the only difference between crafting viper and “regular” ascended armor from scratch is the 75 fulgurite per piece.
Not too bad because I’m sitting on 600k karma and plenty of leftover airship parts, bandit crests etc.
Every MMO has a wall that you’re eventually gonna hit, except maybe games like Black Desert where you have no levelcap but that game doesn’t have challenging high lvl PvE.
In fact, I personally don’t know ANY mmo that has challenging PvE with a some sort of infinite gear/character progression.
Harbinger of Mordremoth outfit needs to come back. My Sylvari needs it nao!
Hey guys,
is sinister condi still a good option until I get all the viper pieces? The reason I’m asking is that full six viper armor is pretty expensive and it will take a while before I can get all pieces but I need to craft some armor now to get my AR up.
Why is this still not in the game? It would improve the already terrible performance and reduce the already terrible screen clutter (why do minis and pets have their own nameplate in the first place??).
Please ANet, people have been asking for this forever.
Harbinger of Mordremoth Outfit… last seen sept 2015
You crazy kitteners
congrats! As another poster here said, trying some new games is a good option, even though you kind of dismissed that already. I quit GW2 for Fallout 4 and that kind of snowballed into other games. Been playing again since April 19th patch and I look forward to it every day again. Taking breaks can really reinvigorate the fun in games.
I think it’s time to re-release the Harbinger of Mordremoth outfit… it hasn’t been in the store since Sept 2015. I’m sure it wasn’t to the liking of many people (I don’t see anyone wearing it) but my sylvari might want it
. Plz anet!
Bigger Boobs. I know, “that’s sexist, every game does that, we don’t want it, bla bla bla why” Why? well because I want them. Why do you care what another random player looks like, and anet, you could make money off of this. I’d buy lots of the editing pack things in the gemstore. I want the body selections to go away and be replaced with as many sliders as humanly possible with a huge range. Would pay huge prices.
YES exactly, why can’t we have body modifications in the makeover kits. I personally don’t think we have big enough anything, most characters look like stick figures to me. I want bigger breasts and butts. And while were at it how about some sexy armor… most other games have it.
Go play Black Desert or Blade and Soul or any of the other dozen fap mmos that are all about huge boobs and big butts with jiggling physics.
I would like to see more realistic and authentic armor sets instead of “skimpy” and “revealing” crap. The new wvw set is a step in the right direction. And who are you to tell me to go play something else…. To me big breasts & butt and sexy feminine cloths ARE realistic its how I am irl so why can’t I be that way on my game…..
Are you battling Monsters IRL? Because if you were, you wouldn’t be wearing sexy skimpy clothing. Sorry for being rude… I understand everyone has a different opinion. I’m male and straight and I hate how ridiculous some of these games portray females. Armor should cover your chest, not reveal it…
This is where the fps genre is miles ahead… Gears of war, unreal, battlefield, call of duty… All of those games have authentic female characters these days that actually look like they are ready for a fight.

Never noticed this before
Thanks for the suggestions! I have unlocked all the traits and skills now and I’m having a blast. Combat feels really fluid and satisfying. I currently use GS/LB with zerker and some cele trinkets and so far it’s great.
Is anyone using condi gear? I tested it a bit on golems and the AoE damage is ridiculously strong but single target is rather meh.
I was really pumped to get my hands on the gloves but once I did I was, again, harshly reminded that anything cool looking on our right hand gets covered by an ugly glowing shield anyway.
Anet pls
I’m running Radiance, Virtues and DH and use LB/Scepter/torch. Damage is not super amazing but I haven’t even unlocked all traits and skills. Any suggestions?
Zenith skins never had a fitting armor skin so I just picked random ones and didn’t care (I HAD to choose, there was no chest, which is a really bad design decision to begin with). Now we have the crystal arbiter outfit which fits perfectly well with these weapons but I have to get another 5000 AP to get the right weapons for my class.
And back when I chose the hellfire skins, there were no chaos weapons skins around… which also happen to fit perfectly with the radiant set
Bump. This really needs to be adressed
Yep, real bummer
I don’t want to continue into the jungle without having finished S2.
Probably. I guess it will be similar to DT and SW.
So what do we have here…
New ways to get mats for the spinal packs (most likely a bag with possible blade shards, sprockets and on rare occasions power cores) and new ways to get mats for mawdrey.
What’s interesting are the mysterious keys. We were able to dye the spinal pack and now we might be able to so that with mawdrey, too. Don’t expect that to be a trend for every backpiece though… for now it seems to be only for the blade pack and mawdrey.
Casually collecting some mats for Twilight. My Necro will be happy!
At this point DX9 is nothing but bottlenecking the game. I can run games like GTAV and Dying Light at High to Ultra and get 60+ FPS. Yet, GW2 drops down to 30 at times in pretty much every new area like LA, DT and SW. Sure, you have to account for server side performance lags in games like this but overall it just runs like crap.
By now most people who play GW2 have at least Win7 and a DX11 GPU except for some plebs who play on a potato laptop running XP.
If they want to keep the game running for a few more years they really have to consider upgrading their engine, like WoW did successfully. Considering ANets extremely slow development speed though… I wouldn’t count on it.
This would require them to re-do every single male and female shoulder armor for all races in the game so I highly doubt this will ever be available.
Seriously if you’re doing badly at any game mode with your engineer right now, you’re doing it wrong.
The mortar AA was kind of unnecessary because it didn’t deal a whole lot of damage to begin with and it’s easily avoided because of travel time. But I use mortar just for fields anyway, then switch back to nades/bombs.
I’ve been working on custom playlists lately and while this definately brings some fresh air to the game, I would like to see the devs expanding it.
How it works:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/audio/A-guide-to-custom-playlists
You can create custom playlists for:
MainMenu (doesn’t properly randomize music)
Battle
BossBattle (doesn’t randomize music)
Ambient
NightTime
Underwater
City (doesn’t properly work)
Defeated (doesn’t work)
What I would like to see is more playlists for:
All major cities
All major regions (f.e. Maguuma Jungle, Orr, Ascalon, Kryta, Maguuma Wastes, etc.)
Dungeons
Please Anet
, I know there aren’t a lot of people who do this but as of now this feature feels a little incomplete.
Hey everyone,
how do I get to the elevated plateau in Stonescatter Wash (the one with the rich nodes and air elementals)? I already walked along the rocks several times and even tried getting there from the JP starting location but I’m at a loss here :/
Thanks in advance!
Honestly I like all of them except sylvari male (“huuuuuurgh! huurgh!” when jumping).
Nolan North ftw!
Is there any heart that can give me Silk?
I’m building my first Ascended armour and I’m about 150 silk short.
Like most people I have about 1M Karma stacked doing nothing.
Pretty sure there is but I dont’t have any specifics. I wouldn’t recommend it though because linen is worth twice as much and you could just sell linen and buy silk, all for less karma.
@OP: you could do some clover forging (obsi shards for karma). Even if you don’t plan on making a leggy right now you might do so in the future. Plus, T6 mats are always useful and profitable. If you have the spare ectos, that is.
LS2 is not worth a single penny.
This. I regret paying for it after the first episode. I haven’t played season 1 so I have zero connection to the characters. Anet doesn’t want players to miss out on content? Fine but how about giving them some background to past events?
Apart from that the story seems just as boring and uninspired as the personal story. Bland characters who I don’t care about and dialogue that is neither funny nor particularly interesting.
Just +1ing this to get their attention. Please Anet, make it happen! My Hellfire and Flamewalker skins are rotting in my wardrobe because there are no proper weapons that fit
Of course not, lol. Beta testers were paid before. Nowadays people pay, or grind, for the chance to be a beta tester.
Get a staff of beta testers and pay them, I’m not doing it for free for you.
They do internal beta tests. The idea behind all this is to encourage people to play in the new zones with a slight chance to get a key. Nobody is forcing anyone to “grind” for one. If people force themselves to play just for the sake of getting access then that’s their fault, not the developers.
your right, but my friend, i have 5 lvl80s. i am way over that, i need end content to feel like i can create my own path as i continue to play the game. i need to create a legacy.
ANet said at some point that they wanted the player character to have more influence in the storyline. I’m guessing what they meant by that is to bring back different diaglogue options and paths to proceed on but this time it will have an even stronger impact on the story. Kind of like commander Sheperd in Mass Effect. And I’m sure you heard of the changes to the precursor weapons. I think this will help creating a deeper connection to your character and his legacy.
As for PvP/WvW… well you said it yourself. GvG and guild halls are hopefully going to build a stronger sense of community and identity with your guild. I’m not sure why you want 2v2 and 1v1 modes but if you want to do duel other players there are plenty of custom arenas that do duels, as someone mentioned earlier. I doubt that it will make your character any more “legendary”, though, unless you are really good and known among the pvp community.
Oh and you mentioned you don’t want to play like a “robot”. Maybe just don’t? You can get stuff like legendarys/skins/dyes just by doing whatever you enjoy, it might just take longer depending on what it is. And if there’s nothing fun for you to do in GW2 then you should probably look for other games that have less boundaries like DayZ or Skyrim.
I’ve been getting stomped by a rifle/gs warrior in spvp tonight as an engi. Kind of makes me want to log on my charr warrior again and try it out. Nice montage!
