I mean she has like 2 axes on one account and 2 pick axes on one account and had them before they were account bound. There was a red post not too long ago saying that they would do refunds on excess tools and I just wanna make sure I submit a ticket properly.
make a ticket in order to get a refund on excess gathering tools? I’m asking on behalf of my gf and wanted to ask how to do this properly. There was a thread awhile back saying that you guys would do refunds since they were recently made account bound if you have excess tools and purchased them before becoming account bound. I just have heard a few horror stories of people trying to get refunds on certain items, and then customer support thinking they were asking for a full refund, which you guys do, but then ban the account right after. So I just wanna avoid not wording a ticket properly, and have her account banned. We have a lot of time and work into her account and hope I could get some clarification on this issue. Thanks in advance.
Yes they are bugged. This is easily seen through the API.

I’m not too good with this stuff, but I’ll take your word for it. Thanks for posting.
I used one on my Weaponsmith and another on my Artificer and can’t find the recipe learned anywhere at all. I even went out on a limb and thought maybe I still had to discover it, and I cannot. My GF was having the same problem and we seemed to only be limited to learn one recipe per toon. I’d just very much like to know if it’s bugged? If Anet knows about it and will be resolved in the next patch or what.
I’ve been playing since launch and this is my second wintersday, while for my GF it is her first and she sold her endless toymaster tonic in anticipation of being able to make the Endless Princess Doll as that’s all she really wanted to be and now it doesn’t seem to work. Any replies on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I just feel bad for her and want some answers on the situation of this item/recipe. Thanks in advance!
I just came here to say, I tried probably easily over 50 times combined on Warrior, Mesmer, and Ele. Finally decided after seeing this thread, to hell with these peeps, I’m pretty comfortable with Necro I’m sure it’s not that hard. 1st attempt I got her to about 30%. 4th attempt I believe it was I killed her. Definitely doable on Necro. The only problem you run into is the lack of endurance regen on a Necro. So of course I used the 40% endurance food. Either way, sure it was a pain, but I did it in under 5 tries, so I feel that the people complaining clearly don’t know Necro that well.
Thanks for this, it helped me get her lower than any of my previous attempts. ;D
Yes, to all these things. However it didn’t see to happen as often as it is now. I know how to fix it, but the point was I shouldn’t have to and it has got to the point it’s freaking ridiculous.
What I mean by this is I see plenty of players using “stack” sigils like bloodlust or perception and they haven’t been complaining about them. However on my Necro I notice, especially in the new dungeon, Molten facility, if I got go down my sigils bug. I mean I know it’s an issue that seems to rarely occur but it has been happening every single freaking time and its annoying as hell. I can only assume it related to necros in some way also and it doesn’t seem to be happening to anyone else I know.
I use Sup sigil of Earth on my wand and Sup sigil of Corruption on my dagger. I can’t tell if it bugs out my wand to but I just assume it does, and re-equip everything. With that said I don’t know if it bugs out my staff either, but I am 100% certain that with crazy frequency when I go down it bugs out Sup sigil of Corruption. It has been happening for the past week and when it happened several times in fractals I finally decided to post about it.
So I recall this only ever happening one other time, but now even after restarting it’s still persisting. This is the info I’m getting when it crashes:

Btw when I say instantly crashes. I mean I start GW2 up and it instantly shows the crash box saying I have a serious error. So do I have to reinstall or what?
EDIT: I just reinstalled. So…

I think the more important question is: what gear are you wearing? So very few non-pirate outfits out there…
I don’t recall ever having seen a bowstring, anywhere.
It’s a mix of HoM (Hall of Monuments), Arah, T3 cult, Duelist, and CoE.
Also back to the point, there never was. Well, at least when it was stowed. Either way I hope someone at Anet sees this and fixes it. Preferably without any string at all, like it was before.
I don’t understand. So are you playing the game again?
Proper response is: Cool story bro.
It’s been this way since launch. All bows have bowstrings, and none of those bowstrings show up in the preview window or hero panel.
I was just about to post a topic about this myself. I would like to see the bowstring fixed, even perhaps a unique looking bowstring, considering kudzu is supposed to be legendary. I also want to see barrage get a unique animation when fired from kudzu…since it doesn’t have one.
Well the hero pane thing I get, but I can assure you that there has never been a janky bow string on my back when its stowed ever. Pretty annoying, almost to the point I dont even wanna wear it around anymore. :/
So I wouldn’t be posting this if it didn’t get to the point of bothering me a lot. I don’t know if the patch or update fixed anything the other day, but I couldn’t help noticing my Kudzu changed. Now when it sits on my back there is this random floating bow string not attached to either side and its pretty kittening annoying. ( I self censored)
In any event it looks pretty kitten now. Also it totally throws off my quiver/Kudzu mix now that there is this random floating brown line attached to NOTHING! Point being if a string appeared when the weapon was wielded I don’t recall it every looking this bad. The attached picture is how it appears in game on my back, and the link is from the hero pane. I’m just curious if anyone else noticed these changes and is annoyed by them. Please don’t ruin my bow, and thanks!

I currently have 158g in actual gold and about I’d say an easy 400g~ in items. Mainly skins, t6 mats, etc. I have 8 characters, 1 of each class, 6 of which are 80. All geared (aka all exotics, and ascended rings/backs), 1 has Kudzu, and some have tier pieces. I farm rarely, usually when I’m bored. I’m not gonna go on my usual CoF farm rant, but let me assure everyone that you don’t have to flip items to make better use of your time and more gold than you would doing CoF. CoF farming is simply people being lazy, and thinking they are making copious amounts of gold.
That said, I think last time I looked I had about 1,900hrs played (playing since before launch week) and I was lucky enough to get my Leaf of Kudzu (and a friends) for 43g during the Karka event. I debated selling it but in the end figured I’d just keep it. Also my gold hasn’t moved that much in the last few weeks because of this kitten SAB event. I run 8 characters everyday through the box. On the plus side thus far I’ve gotten 6 skins, two of which are greatswords, so hopefully this will make up for my lack of activity.
(edited by Tup.1803)
Yeah, I got this too when switching areas. Luckily though as I was typing this it finally allowed me to log in. Might just be a momentary blip
So I’ve noticed the lag in Queensdale and such, but Im assuming this is because of the constant character creation since event. However, a few hours ago I was doing CoF and started getting random lag spikes. I checked my modem logs, my connection, everything and it all checks out. I can only assume the game is getting progressively worse although I seem to be the only one with these problems. It’s gotten so bad that it’s kicking me to character select.
Like many people have said it’s event content, so no I would like it gone also after a period of time. They’ve said that it will likely get expanded upon with more worlds and skins, so that’s nice. Also as it sits now you can get a skin a day just from speed running world 1. The longer it stays in-game the less exclusive these skins get. Not to say they are now, but it would be nice if a year or so from now not to see anyone being able to get them, or everyone have them.
I’m pretty sure someone said they were up on Sound Cloud. So…
Edit: See I’m so nice I found it for you: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/sab/Add-the-New-Login-Music-to-Anet-s-Soundcloud
This is why you run with guild majority parties or start the instance yourself. If they wanna be a D and kick you jokes on them. Also if it’s just a straight up PUG group you should learn these easy rules:
1) Don’t suck. 2) Keep your mouth shut.
Follow those rules in any PUG and you won’t have a problem. Otherwise avoid them all together.
So don’t worry I’m not here to whine about the changes. However, something I did notice today when doing AC with guild was that the NPC you rely on to shield you sometimes priorities attacking over shield, or just plain get’s knocked over, OR OR worse just freaking dies. When he’s an integral part of the fight why not make his HP way higher or here’s an idea give him stability. I’m posting this here because I’m sure something that is vital for the a boss fight shouldn’t die in 3 hits or constantly be knocked down. Thanks!
I just wanted to ask if there was anything being done about teleporting node farming bots? They are kitten near impossible to report and it’s obvious what they are doing. Some are clothed, most I see are naked. I’d assume it would be obvious to weed out players teleporting all over the place and ban them. I’m just curious are you working on a method to weed out and ban these bots or what’s up?
Also interested to know whether it’d be eligible to scale up with ascended weapons when they launch if it’s transmuted.
You do realize long ago they said ascended was between exotic and legendary in terms of rarity and stats. So what you just said…yeah.
On topic I’d be interested to know too.
Skins is probably the best way to go. I just posted this in another thread, but at the time of the Karka event I got a lot of a things cheap including precursors. I really just wanted a Clipper focus skin to have it, so I waited for the second day of the event and the price dropped to 46s. Know how much it is now? 25g+ on the TP. Really mad I didn’t buy more.
You meet a need which no one else is meeting… which means sharing it pretty much instantly destroys it.
This coupled with what someone else said. You have a vast amount of money like 100-200g. Drop it on items you know you can make 1-2s profit on, make more, make more orders. Eventually you have 500g to spend on orders etc. Its tedious but eventually you can have enough money to use to flip items to make a fortune in no time at all.
I recall someone saying if they wanted a market simulator they would buy one and I agree I don’t play GW2 to whip out a spreadsheet and crunch numbers to make 1s profits for an hour of work if not more. That said I have ways of making money that are far less involved, but I’d rather grind or do dungeons then flip items personally, but then again I have 1kg tied up in legendary mats (currently 100 t6 mats from completion). That said I’m not bragging because I know there are people with 10x that in actual gold.
All I’m gonna say is this. I bought the Clipper focus skin during the Karka event for 46s. It now sells for 25g+. I’m mad at myself for not buying more. Hell I bought two precursors during then for dirt cheap too. Oh well, lesson learned.
So I’ve been reading over this thread and from what I can gather with the stats you have is that BLSK is better than a master but barely. I’d like to see if this margin widens or stays the same with the more salvages you do.
On a related note I’m not saying this to be elitist or to paint you as a noob, but you say you have limited in game funds. Be that as that may, do you not do FotM or anything like that? I can about 15+ rares a day from that without MF gear or anything. Although I do several dailies (fractal tiers). I was just curious if you don’t have as much time to play as you’d like is all. Sample size hasn’t increased as much I would think in a month or two. Again just curious. :X
Nope i have the rabid spineguard tansmuted stats on the Mad Memiores so i have a spineguard with the same strats as the Prototype Fractal Capasitor. But i want ro save myself the effort to get the 1300+ fractals relics and make my Mad Memiores Ascended.
So in your mind you think because it has the same stats as the capacitor you are able to purchase from the vendor you should be able to ascend it? Sorry it doesn’t work that way.
Also just in case that wasn’t what you were asking, you can’t ascend the Mad Memories at all. Only ascended backpieces in game are those you can craft with close to 2k fractal relics using the exotic Capacitor, or the quiver/book crafted in the Mystic forge.
I chose The Minstrel because its bird design fits the name of my character: Mockingbird
The only other effect it has (aside from the floating, hardly visible music notes) is that when you draw your weapon or swap into it, a harp plays . I know this particular legendary deserves a graphical upgrade the most (It’s the worst by most people’s standards), but even if they just add music into every step or change how my skills ‘sound’ or something, I’ll be very happy. I really really like the bird. I hope they improve on it soon. XD
Grats!
Where are the troll unguent users ?
Don’t worry… I’m here. Troll Unguent you can hit at the first sign of trouble and keeps healing you and your pet to where the heal itself effectively has a 15 second CD. That in mind I’m embarrassed to say it was pointed out to me yesterday that HS removes conditions also. I never knew this lol. However, it’s hard enough to get people to stand in one place be it in WvW or PvE. It works well if you are GS or some sort of melee ranger or have at least two other ranged classes in the group. WITH THAT SAID though if you are in need of healing, the last thing you are gonna wanna do is stand in one place and hope whatever hit you last time isn’t going to want to hit 2-3 of you standing in the same place.
One word: Risen.
The most annoying mobs I ever encountered in a decade or two of gaming.
And Fractals grind of course.
Not only that but you use to be able to karma farm quite easily there. Now it’s just as hard as everywhere else and as stated risen are annoying and jam packed there.
You worded this really odd. To answer you question though no recipes learned on a specific character never transfer over. If you want another character to learn the recipe you would have to repurchase it with gold, karma, etc.
They haven’t shared any more information than what is on the main page post. My guess is it’s doubtful they would add precursors in the list. They are talking about the scavenger hunt that will be out at the earliest April.
Colin has said “you can earn precursors as rewards via new reward systems taking advantage of our open persistent world.”
Just want to calculate if I have enough achievement points to get one
They also said there would be new achievements for the system when it comes out. I’m not saying they won’t give use tokens or crowns for our existing achievement points, but I would hope you consider that they are not the same thing.
(edited by Tup.1803)
Exactly this.
Long time ex-GW1 player and, even though I love this game I cannot see myself playing it for much longer. TP flipping? If I wanted to play a trade simulator I would have bought one.
The 180 they pulled on the scavenger hunt and all the other precursor related statements really left a bad taste. I am truly disappoint.
Can you elaborate on this statement. Last I heard they weren’t mentioning it again till April. Not to say it will be released then. Are you saying they said they will no longer be doing the Scavenger Hunt? If so could you provide a link? Thanks.
I have a question about creating an ascended backpiece. I have nice Rabit Stat backpiece of mad memoires complete edition (tansmuted with a exotic). Can in like the Prototype Fractal Capasitor make a Ascended version of it? Example 1 mad memoires 1 gift of ascension 40 crystals and 1 vial of condensed mist eccence.
So I think what you are saying is that you had a capacitor backpiece from the FotM lobby area then transmuted it to look like the Mad Memories (Halloween exotic) backpiece correct? I think if you do that, for a lack of better words it F-s it up and it is no longer able to be upgraded to an ascended capacitor.
Could someone give me their opinion.
The more I look into crafting, especially cooking, I realize that the materials are becoming more and more widespread and rare. (Also I was unaware certain ingredients can only be bought from specific merchants)So is it better just to sell all my ingredients and just buy what I need through BLTC?
Or can someone tell me if there’s some epic items worth grinding for at higher tiers?
If you’re seeing it as a grind don’t do it. Honestly if you want food it would be cheaper to craft it yourself, but marginally so in a lot of cases. Also JC is a good way to make 1g of mats into 3g-4g. If you aren’t having fun doing it then don’t. I have all 8 profs maxed and I’d say 95% of the recipes uncovered. Did I enjoy it all? No, but I did like the xp it gave my alts the ability not to have to rely on anyone else if I need something made.
Final thoughts are this, most food as I said you will be able to buy for close to what the mats are worth or would cost if you bought them solely off the TP and crafted them. However if you found them then crafted consumables you don’t have to pay anyone anything. Also if you don’t mind using 26% MF instead of 30% MF then sell your mats and give up cooking. Otherwise the mats used to craft them and the cost jumps up significantly. Not so much that it would make sense to flip a bunch on the TP, but enough that you would want to buy mats and/or farm them and make top tier food yourself. Hopefully I didn’t rant to much and you get the gist of what I was trying to get across.
I’m not gonna give specifics but a good way to get a bankroll is dungeons. They are easy you get tokens. If you need money, do this. Now when you get a decent amount of money and mats accumulated there are plenty of things you can make that will make you 100g+ profit.
All I’m gonna say is clearly someone doesn’t keep up with the blog posts. They already said they wanna revamp dungeons and their encounters. Will it be tomorrow or next week? No, but they have said there are plans to, ideally, make them better.
Sorry for the ambiguous title, 45 characters ftw!
What is for you the best practice in making money at the start, i.e.: with less than 15g to start? No Gems, pls.
Please, don’t tell me “farm, nub!”, i guess there are possibilities even at the start to make money.I would also like a preference order in these activities i have found to be somewhat profitable:
- flipping crafting materials
- flipping sigils/runes/upgrades
- flipping weapons/armor
- crafting weapons/armor (buy materials, and then sell)
- crafting sigils/runes/upgrades
- salvaging weapons/armor
- “salvaging” dropped containers
- buying weapons/armor to play in Mystic Forge
- others? Thanks in advance for all of you that will provide meaningful answers without trolling. I don’t ask you to reveal your trading secrets, only telling us, if you’d like, your preferences in trading.
Yeah flipping small things for profit isn’t gonna work. The profit you would make is eaten up by fees (totaling 15% when all is said and done.) Like the other poster suggested do some dungeons or something, make some quick gold (tokens are nice too) and then craft something you can sell for a decent profit. Eventually you can do this with higher end items. I took things I had in my bank and 45g to buy what I didn’t have, mainly lodestones and made 100g profit. So 145g pick up from the TP.
If you have at least one level 80 character I would suggest farming ore, and while doing this you will probably find the orbs you need and craft some level 80 exotic jewelry. Can easily turn 1g into about 3g-4g.
I honestly wanna see the wealth distribution of the players.
I’m deeply curious to know this too!
I don’t think you would want to. GM makes about 500g in a few days without much effort. I’d be scared to see what he could make if he really played the market. Fact is the majority of people are lazy and want money quick and easy. So instead of applying themselves a little bit they just cry about how there is a small group of players who control the majority of gold out there.
On a side note I’m working on my legendary (Only need 100 pieces of 3 separate t6 mats to be done in case anyone was wondering) and needed about 100g more and asked him what I should do. Using items in my bank and spending about 45g I made 140g after fees. So again it’s not hard to make money, just many people are too lazy to apply themselves.
… Arena.net currently has 270 employees …
Your math is slightly off as we are over 300 employees now :p
In answer to the OP, I would suggest bag slots and/or bank slots as storage is always useful
Pwnt and this^. In the future though Ionno if it was stated be seeing as you’re 33 and have 800 gems one can only assume you used RL money, just use gold. It might be way more than it was back in the day, but it’s still a better value. Then again it’s your money and you are free to spend it as you see fit.
No doubt the ranger needs some serious attention, but I wouldn’t say it’s not fun.
Even due to all the bugs, messy trait lines, useless spirits and stupid pets I still have fun with the ranger. Sure it’s a challenge, and you have to play smarter and better than other prof but, the needed changes will eventually come.
I hope so. I just read a build that said you should essentially get your crit chance as high as possible and spam 1 with shortbow. Just makes me a die a little inside.
No doubt the ranger needs some serious attention, but I wouldn’t say it’s not fun.

Ah but I agree its not fun, its literally the most boring class Ive ever played. Not saying you cant enjoy it, just saying I dont. I hope they fix it before other games come out because at this point my love of gw1 wont keep me here.
Umm that’s called an opinion. Grats on having one. Just because you don’t like something or find it boring doesn’t mean everyone does. Hell, there are kids in this game who enjoy farming. That’s right… farming for mats and drops.
Only one pet is really the best, but not necessarily my favorite. Da bear…
I’ve used it to solo EM bosses and it tanks just about anything. Everything else dies too quickly to really be of much use. This said for PvE you are better off using any bear and a ranged pet. It could be a spider, devourer etc. Imo devourer is probably best, but half the time I’m too lazy to change my spider and a black widow is just as good. Doesn’t throw down poison as often but helps snare things that might be chasing people in the party.
Btw lvl 80 with about 700hrs on my Ranger alone.
I’m also dying to know the answerto this.
I have a TON of keys saved up from the mystic forge conversion.
I’m fine whether the BLC have wintersday items or not, but I am just dying to use all these keys… ahh!! And whether or not wintersday items are a possible gift inside may affect how many keys I hold on to for the future vs. use now.
Anyway, happy Wintersday everyone!
I agree completely. Just wish someone would let us know already! >_<
Might just have to ask in map chat at some point and see if anyone has got any Wintersday related items from BLC. SIGH…
look what i found on dulfy :P
Minis
Mini Plush Griffon – 350 gems
Mini Toy Golem – 350 gems
Mini Princess Doll – 350 gems
Mini Toy Soldier – 350 gems
Mini Toy Ventari – 350 gems

Festive Hat – 150 gems
Fancy Winter Outfit – 700 gems

Umm this was already revealed in the patch notes. Also that’s not what people are asking in this thread. We simply want to know if BLC will drop items like they did during Halloween.
Seriously, can we get a reply? The way you worded the patch notes is in such a way I don’t know if they will drop holiday themed items or not.
There was an update for the new Cash Shop item that allows player to change their appearance.
Edit: I guess that was the update on the 27th. I don’t know then, it could have been emergency maintenance.
I think this would be the likely answer, but there is no mention of it on Twitter or anywhere else. Even more bizarre I can’t find one person who recalls the server restarting last night, or dling a new build today at all. So again I don’t know wtf is going on.
So I asked around and from what I can gather there wasn’t a new build yet nodes moved. I looked on GW2 Twitter which usually notes when new builds go live despite no content changes and nothing. I asked around on the server, no one recalls dling a new build or the server restarting. So I’m curious if we can get an official response about this? Are you guys hotfixing in node changes? Do they now rotate daily? If so why did you feel this a necessary change?
Again if it was a new build then forgive me, but last one I recall was on the 27th, and now on the morning of the 29th, when I just mined them all across 3 characters on the 28th they seemed to have moved.

This has been discussed in depth in many many forums. Not to be snide but this armor can easily be obtained in 2-3 weeks of playing provided you budget yourself & make the effort to work for it. Prices are fine as is.
Zomg I know you in-game. Guess who?
But I agree with what WB said. It’s not hard at all making money, we make plenty just running dungeons on the daily. No one is forcing you to buy it either. You simply buy it for the look because YOU like it, or just don’t. I recently decided instead of getting my T3 human pants (medium). That I would just spend like 2g and get Vigil. Not because I was trying to save money but because I liked the look more.
