go do one of the other 10 events that spawn big world chests if you want their precursor. people complained that they were too rare and now they buff the rates ACROSS THE BOARD and since no one understands statistics you think other people got special treatment. you can now do level 55+ world bosses and have the exact same chance to get a precursor so go farm and stop complaining that you didn’t win the lottery.
people stop QQing about precursors. they buffed the precursor drop rates to ALL big chests. go run jormag, shatterer, or any number of other world bosses that have a big chest at the end and you have the exact same shot at a precursor in WAY less time. you’re just seeing so many now because so many people were logged in and got this chest. the same thing would happen if for some reason a million people logged in and did claw of jormag at the same time.
The only reason so many people got precursors is because so many people were logged in doing the event at once and they just buffed the drop rate of precursors from big chests. If you go find one of the many group events that were recently buffed (so 80’s get the same loot from level 55+ events as 80 ones) you have the same chance as anyone else.
The game is designed so every player can assume any role. Some are better than others, but you have no dedicated tank or healer. No one depends on what you provide. As a result there is not way to really measure those in party who aren’t pulling their weight.
After several hundred hours of play I realize this is the weak point of the game. It’s the fault line under the concrete. It’s the cracked foundation that makes the doors never close just right in a house. It’s broken design at it’s core.
When people say “GW2 is a lonely MMORPG” or “Gw2 is missing something in team play” this is what it is. You simply don’t bond with others players in combat like you do in other MMORPGs where you have dedicated roles.
If they don’t fix this I will leave the game over it. I predict the game will eventually die because of it as well.
tbh in other MMO’s it was only the tank and healer you could truly see if they were pulling their weight

It’s like you didn’t even read the post. It says pretty clearly that the Noll fix isn’t live yet and won’t be until tomorrow.
I was typing my post as the most recent update went up. Look at the timestamps. To get a Legendary i think you should have to unlock it…
By doing ALL paths of ALL dungeons in the game..
By having 100% map completion..
By having at least 2 craft skill at max..
you see what im trying to say here..?
The list above is not exhaustive and im sure some here could add to it.. but to my mind Legendary means doing things that are ’’Legendary’’ :p
And grinding the same old farm spots, and the same old dungeons day after day week after week isn’t..
Anyway if im totaly wrong flame me.. im a noob anyway :p
But that’s stuff that everyone can complete given enough time. No matter how many more things you add, everyone will be able to complete it in time. That’s not what legendarys are about in my opinion. I think legendarys should be reserved for those who go above and beyond, doing things that most people would cringe at like risking everything they have on the Mystic Black Hole. I thought the system was fine as it was but I guess we’ll just have to see how it turns out.
Oh yeah, because running Plinx for 16 hours a day is SOOOOOO legendary.
Possible solution: Once you have 100% completed a zone, unlock all the waypoints for free. As it stands, it is virtually impossible to recoup the costs of TPing to some zones because events give such poor gold rewards, and this is doubly true if you have already completed a zone since you can’t do the hearts.

You people will find anything to complain about. What are they supposed to do, mail everyone in the game an exotic? They don’t even have unique skins, and the chest drops from Ascent to Madness were stupid rare…
Great job overall, I agree that RNG should be tweaked a bit, as it left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths. I also agree that if the exotics are going to be so hard to craft, then Anet should either 1) publicize that you can get them as drops, and mention that crafting is more of a long-term goal for after the event, or 2) totally separate what can drop and what needs to be crafted.
Edit: Also instance the clocktower for solo and allow us to bring in friend if we want others there. This would avoid the visibility problems that many players have.
They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest.
Also magic find is calculated from when the creature is killed so it’s also not viable to use your normal gear set kill a boss then switch to magic find.
Are chests affected by diminishing returns? IE, for the Mad King, if you ran that twice in 30 minutes (even if on two different characters), you’d get less dungeon rewards, but do the quality of the chest drops change?

LOL…who actually thought MF affected this stuff? It would be the stupidest design choice ever.
Maybe because in Diablo 3, it worked just like that (though I think they later patched it so MF didn’t work on chests, it was initially that way). Many people would run around with an autohotkey script that would change their armor set with the click of one button right before the finishing blow on a boss or before they opened a chest.

Look folks, it would be great if they could extend the event. My power is flickering as I type this. But they are running a business that caters to millions of players worldwide. They aren’t going to spend the money or the manpower to push back the event because a few hundred thousand subscribers MIGHT or MIGHT NOT have power. They have deadlines to meet. The NFL didn’t cancel last nights football game because people in NYC wouldn’t be able to see how their fantasy team was doing…

Memoire questline was fun, the brawl is okay….but the lack of rewards is disappointing. The shield and staff you can craft is probably the most disappointing in this event, the shortbow looks awesome. I play as a warrior and i don’t really have any use for a shortbow.

Where/When have ArenaNet said that the other acts will have more rewards that doesn’t include buying gems for 100$?
I myself haven’t paid gems for this Halloween event because i know it’s a lottery, you have to either spend 20$ or 100$. If it was: pay 20$ get a unique skin. I would have bought it.
A reasonable person would assume that in a 4 part event they aren’t going to jsut give out the goodies on day one. Common sense.
In GW2 you’d have your tanks (Guardians/Warriors) who were absorbing the aggro/damage
Sry, I’m out after that. GW2 has no tanks and should never have them. If there should ever be Raid in GW2 they definitively should use the same mechanic as the regular dungeons: random aggro.
If GW2 has no “tanks” go take a P/P thief and try to soak up the damage from a dungeon boss. Next go take a Guardian and try it. I don’t understand where this notion of there are no tanks in GW2 comes from…there’s no dedicated healer doesn’t translate into there’s no dedicated tanks…
In general I’m shocked to see such horrible responses to the ADDING PvE modes…do you guys want the same old boring crap over and over again…? Why wouldn’t you want additional non-compulsory events that require more people? Isn’t this what the new Dragon events are essentially, raids?
Ok, if there are tanks where are my taunts? How do I maintain aggro while doing low dps? You can’t. Tank doesn’t just mean you are able to take a lot of damage, it means you are able to keep others from taking damage.
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter to me what is added beyond this point unless changes to the existing items accompany the updates. The presence of the type of content they’ve opted for within a festival setting at all is enough to make things unpalatable to me. I’ll stick around to see the new areas and events for the Hell of it, but really, there’s nothing additional they could really add to win me back at this point.
I’m guessing you spend $50 on part 1 of 4 of the event and didn’t get what you want. Maybe try some patience next time, and go to a GA meeting.
Daylight savings is not effin complicated. PDT = pacific daylight savings time. PST = pacific standard time AKA NOT daylight savings time. If you would actually read what PDT means you would know this.
If you really want to be “international” maybe you should learn how time zones work.

Read the post above. The world doesn’t revolve around knowing when America starts and stops Daylight Saving Time. Some countries have it, some don’t. And the ones that do, do not have it coincide with America.

The issue, that was plainly spelled out with the original post, was that it helps us in dealing with others who do not convert time, or make mistakes. Adding or subtracting is so simple, that many tend to make careless mistakes. Or whatever reasons they have. I can empathize.
Just because I can do it doesn’t mean I’ll judge another who can’t. Nor will I say “hey, it’s easy for me so just figure it out”. That isn’t helpful.
Listing UTC (GMT) is just one tiny step closer to being helpful, as the world flips their clocks come their end to Daylight Saving (if they have one).
Sorry I don’t have the tolerance for laziness and stupidity that you do. I have no idea how these people can even figure out the controls for the game if they can’t either 1) look at the event page which clearly shows the conversion, or 2) Google a stupid time zone website.

Yeah, I am a pretty frequent forum poster and I didn’t mean to spam the topic. Normally I am the edit champ revising posts 3 times after I submit them, but for some reason the forum is really slow for me to edit.
It’s late and I’m overly excited about this topic for no reason. Honestly I’m not against them posting it in GMT… I am against people claiming it is difficult to figure out time zones when it isn’t. And besides, no one really had a definite time, all we knew in the US was that it would be “sometime in the evening PST”, they actually came out and said “after midnight GMT” which is actually more of a bone than they threw US players.

do you know what GMT is? I think you might be mistaking it for something.
In game clock does not show GMT time, it either shows server time or your local time (time on your machine).
Also, are you aware of the fact that f.e. DST (Daylight-Saving Time) is observed quite differently in different regions of the world? Some of regions not observing it at all, others begining/ending on different days?
So it’s not always that simple as adding / substractijng same number of hours to get your timezone, unfortunatelly.
I don’t see how listing xx PST (yy GMT) would make much difference for ANet and it makes a world of a difference for players around the world.
To be honest, I can’t even think of any other company handling global business / announcements without giving out times in GMT as well.
It is much easier to only have to know how your zone is relative to GMT times at any given moment.
And Tyrick, it’s really ignorant and flat out rude to sent people to Google when they can handle themselves perfectly otherwise.

Hey guys I have a quick question and I hope someone has a guaranteed answer for me. I bought a Halloween Weapon Skin from the TP (So a permanent skin) and I want to attach it to my weapon now and use it but I just want to be 100% sure that I can transmute the look onto a better weapon later on. I just spent a lot of gold on this skin so I dont want to waste it on a level 50 weapon lol. Please respond as fast as you can guys!

Can’t confirm 100% but if it can be transmuted once it can be transmuted forever as far as I know. I have carried skins over from level to level with no problem and don’t see how this should be any different.
Good riddance. Have you even paid any attention to the endgame philosophy? Did you really think these kitten skins were going to drop like flies considering every other skin in the game is a huge grind and has a huge random chance component?
Maybe next time wait a few days to see how things are panning out before gambling $50 on a vanity item that you could have gotten cheaper off the TP.
