Thanks Karl. Now, since the other thread “Howler Fix” has been grossly ignored by devs/designers, I would like to politely and with great hope request that your team PLEASE do something to fix the bugged out new warhorn sound that everyone is unanimously saying sounds like a “fart”. Also, for people who have invested countless hours like myself to craft the legendary howler, only to now have it’s uniqueness stripped away by said bug, it is all the more disappointing. Super Warhorn skin has a unique sound still, but Howler is plagued by the unwelcome tooting that has pervaded 99.9% of all the common warhorns as well. I sincerely hope that this message won’t fall on blind eyes, and that we can see a resolution to this post-haste. thanks again! <3

Also, as a whole, i’ve enjoyed the Tempest thus far, and am happier with these new changes

i officially bug reported it in-game as an audio bug, which it is. as a legendary, it should have it’s own sound effects (like the predator rifle does). and it should definitely have it’s previous particle effects brought back as well. Shameful we still have no response

can we please get an official anet response to this? even if is “we know it needs a fix, and we will definitely be working on it, yet don’t have an official time-frame as of now”

i haven’t logged in in some time, and just came back noticing my howler doesn’t sparkle at night nor does the moon show up in its circle anymore? any news on a fix for this?

so today i experimented with all 4 specializations, and here are the following things i’m underwhelmed by:
1) necro – their greatsword attacks are far too slow and easy to dodge in wvw or pvp based on what i see currently. they’ll be steamrolled. Positive: their reaper shroud in GS is AMAZING
2) Guardian – elite spec Dragon’s Maw has a 60 second cool-down, but needs to be unblockable. anyone can roll dodge through it, and even npc devourer’s can go under it and evade, leaving you with 60 seconds to wait for something that’s already pretty underwhelming compared to other elites. Also, Wings of resolve having a range of 600 feels more like a chicken trying to fly than an actual angel/winged being. 600 range is hardly a leap of faith as it were. Would be more impressive if 900 or 1000 range.
3) Ele/tempest – the warhorn fire skill for might 3 stacks is very underwhelming; make it a different skill. The rest of their skills feel very lackluster and inferior by far to the current D/D in wvw. I’m not calling for a D/D nerf at all, as it’s so fun, i’m asking to make warhorn more exciting. it’s very “meh”|
4) no comments about mesmer; just not a fan of a shield as their weapon, but that’s just my opinion.

Anet, any word on getting this fixed yet? would appreciate having the nighttime effects back on this now.

i’ve already given up hope. i was super excited around easter time, and further hopeful at that time as Gaile gave hint that it could be happening back then…but when no bunny ears showed, i died.

i don’t normally complain, but once again (likely the 3rd or 4th time since its inception), i see rox’s quiver in the gem store, along with other things that have been rereleased numerous times…yet i feel completely neglected as i’m sure other people do, that Bunny ears, aviator glasses (and i’m sure there are a few more) have still not been re-released for a couple of years now. I’m disappointed that Gaile stated shortly before easter that we had hope (though she couldn’t confirm) that at least bunny ears might come out around easter. Why is the community continually ignored and other items we have not asked for in masses given to us instead? almost a slap in the face

two things of note to me that have been bugging me for quite some time. 1) rifle is only available currently on engineer and warrior); quite possibly one of, if not the least equippable weapons across all classes in the game.
Also, at least for warriors, it is their least effective weapon, and needs more balance. Also, please fix how engineers use this. firing your legendary off (from the hip) when it’s clearly a long-range rifle that would never be fired from the hip is really unimpressive. I also hope that come the expansion, another class(es) will be able to use rifle. As a loyal player that has been playing since pre-launch, i emplore you to look into this devs and other decision-makers. My sincere thanks in advance; i’m hoping i can get a reply from someone official too

yeah the lag makes boss fights extra challenging LOL, when you can’t even roll dodge or attack, you just wait for the action to catch up and hope you’re not dead by then :P…fail on their part. hope it’s fixed soon

i actually /target bunnies in wvw for our zerg to make sure we kill all innocent rabbits. they’re over-populating tyria.

In response to the post about them making some adjustments to longbow as they feel too many rangers are using longbows now, i have this to say:

if they don’t want too many rangers using longbow, then perhaps they shouldn’t have nerfed shortbow range. i LOVED running shortbow / axe/warhorn on my ranger in the past, but 900 range (the nerf) when you’re trying to use a viable #3 skill, puts you out of range often after trying to be evasive. Give us back at least 1000 to 1100 range with a shortbow as rangers and i’ll gladly switch back to it. Rangers should have slightly more shortbow range than other classes using shortbow anyway.

they’re terribad. not one person in our guild of over 80 cared for them; they’re like the overly common zenith weapons that very few like, but worse. I promise you if they release these skins, just spend your gold on them; they’ll be going cheap.

let me just say this, i unfortunately fall into the bracket of people that are RNG-cursed. I love playing the game, and for a long while i was avidly looking forward to finally getting my first ascended weapon/armor chest, but now that i’m rank 821 in WVW, and have completed over 4-hundred and 55 fractal runs, and have still yet to receive one, while many people i know in my large guild that have run far less in both those realms have already gotten multiple chests, just makes me lose hope. I’d love to see a fix to this guys.

yet, everyone i know in both guilds i hang with has gotten 2-3 of them by now and a number of them are lower ranked or have run far fewer fractals.

GoM papers everything with huge overnight zergs, but yesterday they lost two waypoints to four players during the afternoon, including one T3 keep with 1,700 supplies. Today they lost their entire map to around ten players during the same time period while they zerged around EBG, also including a T3 keep that was capped last.

I’d be quite happy to see them move up a tier, but they really seem too lazy to stick in a tier where their off hours coverage is expected to do anything besides blob up and circle cap.

you’re forgetting that a lot of GOM doesn’t even care anymore this week (and have been taking it easy the last few weeks), and were discouraged we werent’ moved up to silver this week. why should we care when we have been undefeated the last 9 weeks? most of us in the two main wvw guilds i run with in GOM really don’t care much at all right now and are just barely trying enough to keep our skills polished while we wait for what we’re looking forward to. We’re not being lazy or sucking, we just don’t see the point in putting forth a lot of effort this week. enjoy your caps, but again, we really don’t care, and we’re still winning.

lol, because any true hardcore wvw player (the ones who earned their tickets) likely has no need/desire for anything other than a new skin to symbolize their efforts. A mini dolyak? we already got that last season, plus it’s really not even a good mini; i know no one that uses it (just like Queen Jennah), and tomes of knowledge and obsidian shards? i already had 12 level 80 wvw toons before this season (hardcore player) and already have more obsidian shards than i want. the weapons are truly the only thing of value to the people who earned the tickets imo; the one indentifiable bragging right for your hard work.

So rest havent earned there tickets? How about ascended acsessery + wvw infuses worth 70 laurels? That takes awhile if you use lots of dif jools.

i stated it was the one “identifiable” bragging right. Ascended accessories don’t show that you worked hard to help your server come out on top. While sure, other people in our server that didn’t really contribute much are able to get the same reward i am, it still remains the only identifiable bragging right.

well, no more money from me on their gem store until they treat me like a valued customer. i’ve given anet over $150 since launch aside from the regular purchase of the game. but, if they don’t care to fix things in a timely fashion and continue to neglect their player base (especially with wvw), then why should i give them my money? no one pays someone to do a bad job. In real life, people get fired for that, not paid.

not sure why you guys care about whether or not you’ve received your chest yet…not like you can do a kitten thing with them, as anet didn’t even bother making the vendor available for those of us that waited patiently and fought hard for 9 weeks (when even that was supposed to be only 7 weeks). I feel just as robbed as those of you who didn’t get your chest.

WvW is about blob fest taking keeps and crap like that. I doubt thieves are a result of people leaving WvW. The only types that I think would leave are brand new roamers with not so good awareness.

I guarantee getting ganked by thieves has driven players away from wvw. There’s a reason why most people blob in the first place – they don’t want to deal with thieves.

Equally, the reason a lot of roamers play thieves is because they don’t want to deal with blobs ganking 20v1 all the time.

bs. stealth thieves came before blobbing, at least on lower population servers like the one i came from since launch.

that’s pretty unkind of you guys. It was already bad enough that the tournament got extended 2 more weeks when no one wanted that or asked for it, and now that we’ve finally waited those 2 weeks, received our hard-earned 1st place tickets, we get to wait even longer…. sigh :-/

I find that the word “noob” should be looked at as a “bad word” and regarded as such. The word is always used in an offensive context and, in my eyes at least, is no better than other offensive words that do get censored or are enough reason to report a person. So I purpose that “noob” be added to that list.
Censoring it perhaps is not needed as the word as such isn’t harmful. But the use of it, should be enough to report a person (like it is with other bad words), especially if it is used to offend someone.

I believe that the online community has existed long enough and is by now large enough to start adding to the rules of communication we have taken from the real world.

suggestion: stop being a noob, or learn to take mild insults. Anyone in the real world definitely deals with worse than being called a “noob” from time-to-time :P

451 fractals completed, and still not even one ascended weapons chest or armor chest.
Pair that with my rank 632 in wvw and still nothing there. I do, however, have more ascended rings than i can fit in my bank….. <rolls eyes>.

i don’t think they’re weak at all (i think my rangers are weak despite my best efforts). What needs to stop is all the constant-stealthing thieves. they’re cowardly annoying mosquitos

soloing against 2 to 3 players isn’t easy for any non-stealth class unless those 2-3 players are noobs. also, not that it matters, but i use P/P 2/3rds of the time, and S/P 1/3rd

lol, i have no points into SA (and haven’t for several months now) and i do really well with my thief. i’m a non-stealth thief and i run with large groups of skilled players (GOM server with ASH and WORM). I’ve run D/P and P/P and just recently switched to S/P and P/P. Even in swarms of enemies being acrobatic and skilled with dodges, etc. i am only downed if all of us wipe, and survive the duration of a fight without feeling cowardly whatsoever. L2P is all can say. I have a blast without SA and stealth. just work at it instead of complaining. find a play style you like, and master it. I hated stealthing and feeling cowardly during the first two months after launch, so i changed it when i came back to thief.

LOL, yep, this is exactly what i do. I have 12 level 80’s and all i do every day for the past 2 months now is grind dungeons for gold, convert them to gems, buy skins, and the occasional wvw (wvw is boring the past couple of weeks now because we’re guaranteed 1st place this season….so why even try now)….
