Standard burst guardian is something similar what monkeymonger posted sword/focus & greatsword. Greatsword is a staple of most roaming/havoc guardian builds – the variation comes in the second set, either scepter/focus or sword/focus, and traits. Some choose to do the 15% crit chance trait over the meditation healing trait or altruistic healing. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference, an understanding of mechanics, and sheer dumb luck.

In regards to gear it just makes the point of your blobbing again. We don’t normally need full PVT cause we’re fighting much, much smaller fights. You guys need all that armor for fighting BvB out there 24/7. To compare us to SOR or JQ is just laughable as they have to deal with you monkeys all the time so of course they PVT it up.

We have fought them all in recent weeks, all the PVT and PPT in world can’t save BG from the simple undeniable fact that for the most part you are simply a coverage meat grinder and that’s it.

Yeah…PVT gear…yea…not sure how many T1 guilds actually run that way anymore…just yea…PPT….yea maybe…but yea…

We had a blast with our 18-20 people fighting the entire JQ server in the north. Much respect to you for not blurring out your minimap like some guilds were known to do to hide the extra help their guild receives during fights.

The fight in the NE tower we had the best time doing an Alamo with the spawn wave after spawn wave of JQ that kept pouring into the tower.

At our peak last night there with 40+ in our TS3 channel and we were running dual com tags. Just to clarify a few things during the recorded engagements I only had between 20-30 on tag at any given time (I constantly keep tabs of numbers). So, to an extent, the majority of the fights were fairly even numbers. Just have to factor in organized guilds vs a token force of SF & our fifteen best friends that anyone could have.

Nonetheless fun fights all around cheers to RISE/ONS/WARD/IRON/UL/HL/TW/TWL/ACO/KISS for the funsies.

Funny, still have a bunch of friends on JQ, and I doubt they’d share the same opinion as you on that. Funny thing is that we run and have run about 4-5 nights a week since our guilds inception. We are a smaller roster. But this doesnt mean we aren’t willing to help out other guilds on our off nights or low population nights. So far since WARD has come over, the highest “Zerg” that we led was 38 people and consisted of WARD / Aco / IRON. This was against a full JQ map blob of SF / SG / Pro.

Please get over your hate and vitriol and try to be a little less delusional with your posts in the future.

I had did a complete reset on my router a week ago and it solved all the immediate issues I had. The rubberbanding is much more common on reset nights from what I can tell.

Such a match up will not occur anytime soon. Last I heard from the Dragonbrand server is that Red Essence is still gathering funds to transfer Noodle’s “North American Leader” title from Jade Quarry to Dragonbrand. The ego packed in the title is too much for just one server transfer.

In group fights though, people still tend to target the upleveled, which I don’t understand. They do little damage. I always go for the ones that do the most damage(biggest threat) and save the tankies/low dps for last.

You get targeted because you’re a free rally. Besides factors such as: positioning and geographic advantages rallies are a significant part of team fights. You being on a lowbie skews the rally factor out of your team’s favor.

I’ll admit it, I’ve had nights to where I have had to do just that. You play the map.

This is not a call for an alliance, its simply a call for us to open our eyes and use the three sided dynamic for what it was designed for.

So I am going to focus on these two topics. I am a Jade Quarry/Strike Force Commander. I generally tag up during 4-10 pm EST. North American prime time doesn’t really start, for us anyway, until about 9 pm EST. So at any given time on our designated map we are experiencing an outmanned buff. During this period our team establishes a goal: from fun to taking Garrison/Hills/Bay.

Generally, we are fairly mindful of our surroundings and depending on what our target server is on that day. For example it is SoR borderlands our objective would be neutralize NE tower/Waypoint Hills, but besides that we’d maintain our holdings. This is where “playing the map” comes into play. The moment that the other server starts touching my stuff. I stop focusing on the original target and will wipe them off the map. This seems to be a common practice for all three servers, but during this timezone it is a less organized period for all servers, to an extent. However, the 1v2 is rare during this time period (4-9 pm est) because there are so few organized guilds on the map, and it is much easier to break morale. I play the map based on what my team desires and what we’re capable of.

Transition to Jed’s time period of 9pm-1am est and there are more organized guilds/commanders on the map. Which allows the 1v2 to become more possible and more frequent. From my perspective I fight SoR and Bg more frequently during this timezone. So from our perspective, the NA prime commanders, we are always fighting both servers. However, circumstances changes and there are a variety of variables that can cause 1v2 whether it is: morale, boredom, new commander, etc. It varies depending on your timezone and on certain variables.

That’s just some of my insight on the matter, and I enjoy the great fights from both servers. Cheers.

Okay so now that the drama has died down a bit.

I like how Blackgate seems to confuse their one win as ability instead of the opportunism and lack of foresight that it actually is. You played yourselves to death for 2 days while JQ more or less went and took a break and let you win out of pity and followed up the next week by beating the socks off of you with a 90k win.

Now, to quote the great movie Clue, I’m gonna go home and sleep with my wife.

Over on SF mumble we had quite a good laugh about a certain guild that shall remain nameless and their inability to adapt after this fix. It was hilarious to just kind of watch them get steamrolled because they couldn’t hide behind culling anymore.

Great 3 way in bay over on BGBL, I saw quite a few SF tags so I’m guessing you were there.

Definitely a great fight there. There were quite a few of us on BGBL.

Aside from the mess about transferring Stormbluff Isle is a server with a rich WvW history and legacy. From War Machine Island to the LoD Hammer Trains Stormbluff Isle has done it all. These legacies may have come and gone, but the mentality has not; “Steelballs Isle.” Those that remain of the WvW community do not back down, and are willing to keep trying to pursue their goals. Regardless of the opposition, big or small.

If you consider transferring to Stormbluff Isle you will find yourself in a lower tier. However, the server is currently restructing which means opportunity for new guilds, leaders, and a future. A chance to leave a legacy, your legacy.

Threads like this are absolutely garbage and just annoy me. SBI is far from dead. It is rather in a state of transition. In regards to War Machine I personally do not miss them. They made their choice, its done so move on. But SBI has plenty of fight.

1-80 takes about 35-40 gold depending on mats.

chef/artificer/jeweler all cost roughly 1-2gold and you can make most of your money back.

the other five crafts take about 5 gold (with all mats) or 7-8 gold (without mats).

if you are buying the mats in masse remember to place “custom orders”.

I’ve leveled my thief 1-80 in a day.
