I’ve been camping his spawn point for a few days now and have never seen him. Do the events before have to fail in order for him to show up?
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
This has happened to me too, but so far only in stronghold matches.

Now you can all feel how a lot of rangers have felt about their sword dodges for the past 3 years
I’ve played sword ranger for years. Those dodges actually work. These ones don’t, and it’s making the Daredevil unplayable.
I think he means, the clunkyness and loss of mobility is similar to the ranger sword leap. Mechanically I think the thief dodge changes are the same as ranger sword leap.
The ranger sword auto attack will prevent you from dodging if you try to dodge at the wrong time in the animation, which can lead to some untimely deaths.

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Vilkata.4725
Eh, the way I see it, the price of the xpac is about the same as 4 months in a game with a subscription fee, so if I get at least 4 months of enjoyment then I’ve gotten my money’s worth. Considering the core game gave me 3 years of enjoyment I think HoT will probably be worth it.

This could actually give an advantage to scouts in WvW, makes it easier to hide behind things.

Melee Staff Needs a Different Idle Animation
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Vilkata.4725
Here is another pic of Ihen no Kamae
The main problem is that unlike the pictures you posted, the daredevil is holding the lowered part of the staff with his hand underneath instead of on top, giving the impression that the lowered end of the staff is very heavy. This made sense when it was for the hammer, not so much for the staff.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Here you go – the inspiration for the staff Daredevil:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw9vaNS3b0s(note – put here for entertainment, not as criticism)
No way, daredevil’s staff animations aren’t NEARLY that good!
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Yes, so many of the staff animations were taken directly from hammer animations. Carrying around this thin staff like it’s a heavy hammer makes the daredevil seem frail.

Another note on the visibility of tendrils during the Tendril Torcher adventure: I had a hard time seeing the tendrils because of other players’ flamethrower blasts blocking my view. Is it possible to instance other players while you’re on an adventure like this? If not there is a lot of potential for griefing here.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I made a similar build and loved it, but I got tired of the bouncing mushrooms killing off all my pets when I try to take a shortcut.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Just to add my feedback:
I like the level of difficulty right where it is, as long as things get harder in later maps. It’s a small step up from silverwastes difficulty, hopefully the next map will be a small step up from verdant brink and so on like that. Difficult content is good so long as the game is gradual enough to train players to deal with that difficulty.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Honestly it’s only a small step up from silverwastes as far as difficulty. I had some trouble at first but once I learned what all the different mobs did it wasn’t bad at all. Once I got used to the new mobs I still felt like the old vines that shoot poison are still harder to deal with than the new mobs.
Bottom line: if you’re ok in silverwastes you’ll be ok in verdant brink, just don’t expect to completely destroy everything right away.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Good thing they pushed this live at the end of the day on a Friday so we get stuck with it all weekend.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I like it, though they missed an opportunity when they didn’t make a Sea Lion building.
Also the new Troll’s Revenge JP is crazy.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I really really hope that they just forgot to add it on the presentation. This and written in stone are the core traits for a signet/aura build. I hope this gets clarified soon so we don’t spend all week wondering.

I chose answer C: Racial elite.
Ragnar knows what he’s talking about. Human Racial Elite will be amazing with Reaper for sure. Reaper of Grenth
That’s assuming racial skills will still be around once the new trait/skill unlocking system goes into place.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I don’t have a problem with Dragonhunter as a name so long as there are in-game lore reasons for calling it that. Like an actual group of people calling themselves dragonhunters teach my guardian the skills that they think will help them better hunt dragons. However, if HoT launches and I just unlock the elite specialization using the mastery system with no lore whatsoever behind it then I will have a problem with the name and with elite specializations in general.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Will boons and AoE healing also apply to turrets like other minions?
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
This has been happening to me sometimes also, but it’s been happening to my girlfriend consistently every time she loads into heart of the mists. If she’s using it to get to LA she just aims her camera at the LA portal and runs, usually she gets the LA load screen before she loads into heart of the mists properly.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
We will have new zones, new specializations, new traits, new weapons for each profession, masteries and everything else coming with HoT. There will also be repeatable adventures scattered across every map. Are those not enough?
Sure those will be plenty at first, but no matter what most people that pick up HoT when it launches will probably be done with all the content it offers long before the next expansion happens. Anything that extends that playtime while still being fun adds value.
But it’s not just a matter of content, it’s also a matter of making the specializations feel significant. You shouldn’t get everything for free because then it becomes meaningless, but you also shouldn’t have to grind through repetitive content over and over for your rewards because then it feels like a chore. Finding the sweet spot in between these things is what can make a game great.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I honestly don’t want to do anything to unlock it. Jumping through some arbitrary hoops on every character to try out the specializations just sounds tedious and time consuming for no real purpose.
I can understand that, but the main reason I want to have to do something to unlock it is because I want something new to do in the game. I have a ton of 80s right now and I feel like I’ve done everything with them. Whenever I take a character out I still have fun playing them, the problem is that every time I try to think of what I should go do when I want to play everything I think of is something I’ve done many many times before. I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll sit at the character select screen for 5 minutes trying to think of what to do and then just eventually exit because nothing sounds that interesting.
Unlocking specializations via a quest-like system would add more stuff to do and extend the life of HoT a bit. I know that no matter how good the new zones are after I’ve done everything in them 10-20 times I’m going to lose interest again so anything that makes that take a little longer is good in my opinion.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I was curious what other people’s thoughts on this would be. For me I would like it to be a unique thing for each specialization that made sense. For example, the Druid specialization could be unlocked by visiting an NPC in the jungle that’s researching the old Maguuma druids and going on a series of personal story-like missions where by the end you discover some secrets that let you use the druid’s power.
My fear is that specializations will just be unlocked via the mastery system. It would be disappointing to get it by spending a point you got from map completion and then joining the zerg that’ll probably be running events in Verdant Brink nonstop. I think I just don’t like the disconnect between the thing you want unlocked and the activity performed to do the unlocking.
So how would you like specializations to be unlocked?
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
This also applies to Jotun and the necromancer Lich form elite.

When posting connection issues it’s always a good idea to post your ISP and general location just to see if it’s a regional thing, there was a major problem in EU a while ago especially in Sweden and one ISP that was causing most people to lose connection during prime time. Also some of the backbones in NA were having issues to not to long ago people in the Pacific Northwest into Texas where the servers are located. One of the biggest problems is Alternet own by Verizon has major packet loss at times still to this day it hasn’t been resolved. So I don’t think it’s a server issue or more people would be having it and I don’t and no one in my guild has complained about disconnects and it just may be a coincidence that this is happening after the patch. Another issues that is popping up in tech support circles lately is WiFi congestion if you play over Wifi you may want to check you area to see how many WiFi routers are in your area, you may be surprised to find out its a lot. Try if possible to plug your system directly into the router with a cable see if that solves your problem. If a cable is not an option then you might want to check your WiFi card or dongle are the drivers up to date. Also are you using a dongle in a desktop, get rid of it. Go get a good quality card with a good antenna. Those craptastic dongles are junk. A friend of mine was using one in his desktop and every time someone walked across the room he would lose connection to the internet.
As I said, someone using the same connection as me isn’t getting disconnected at the same time, so it’s unlikely that it’s an ISP issue. Also I don’t play over WiFi, so it’s not that either. It doesn’t really matter though, I wasn’t posting here to get troubleshooting tips, I was just making sure the issue was more visible to Arenanet.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I know it’s not my ISP because my girlfriend is playing at the same time in the same room as me and she doesn’t get disconnected, or she’ll be disconnected when I’m not, it seems to take turns.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I get dropped at least once per night now and it’s usually not the same error message every time. It’s not my computer or internet connection and it didn’t start until the megaserver system was rolled out so I have to assume that it’s causing some sort of instability. It’s not from overcrowding because a few of the disconnects happened in dungeon instances with just 1 other player present.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I stayed on my server specifically because it had a low population. I like being able to play PvE in a zone without a bunch of random people dragging mobs on me. Tonight at 2am I went to dredgehaunt to see how bad it is and only lasted about 15 minutes before I was too annoyed to play anymore.
Since I’m sure we’re stuck with megaservers whether we want them or not is there anyway to change the mob behavior so that they will not aggro on innocent bystanders after being dragged away from their spawn?

Ventauri’s Refuge, assuming that it wasn’t incorporated already into GW2.
Also Bloodstone Fen, I just want to see how that is now.
Ventari’s Refuge should be a little bit west of Brisban Wildlands, so it hasn’t shown up in GW2 yet.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
the latest official post didn’t mention sword 1 auto skill rooting problem, which I remember clearly anet said they could change the rooting problem in live stream.
Did they forget it? or they just simply changed their mind?
On the live stream I believe they said they were looking into it but there were some server-side fixes that need to be made first for it to be possible.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I saw some molten alliance guarding one of the probe things and it got me wondering. At the end of flame and frost I thought that alliance fell apart, so why are these guys still around? I’m just curious if I’m missing something.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I don’t understand the point of this change.
So…fights will take 10% longer? That’s all I’m seeing from the crit change. It’s not going to change how people gear or play.
I don’t think it’s meant to change how people gear or play, it’s mostly just normalizing crit damage so jewelry stats are consistent and laying the foundations for future balancing.

Vilkata, it’s possible for two computers on the same home network to use different DNS servers to translate the same name. If you can check your network setting, you’ll probably see that the two computers are using different servers.
Anyway, I changed my DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and was able to connect. Instructions for doing so on windows 7 are here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-tcp-ip-settings
sonic.net’s customer support was closed, but I left a message and filled in the form. Good luck, guys.
Ah, you’re right, for some reason I had the DNS from my old ISP still. She tried that and it worked.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
My girlfriend and I are also using sonic.net and she can’t login to GW2. The strange thing is that I can get into GW2 with no problems and we have identical computers and use the same home network to connect to the internet.

Yesterday’s patch introduced an odd bug where sometimes the “spirit” bird on the ranger’s greatsword 3 attack stays permanently after you use the attack. This also seems to happen with the spear 3 and the “spirit” shark that shows up during the attack. It’s not just the visual, the audio also sticks around. The odd thing is that it doesn’t happen on my screen, just on other people’s screens, so it’s hard to tell when it’s happened. The only way I’ve found to fix it is to do a quick relog when the sound of the bird’s wings starts driving my friend crazy.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Not sure when this started, but I noticed lately that any time I hit a wolf it doesn’t play any sort of impact noise. This is most noticeable with a melee weapon. I’ve specifically seen it on wolves in 3 different maps so I’m guessing it’s happening with all wolves. I’ve submitted a bug report in game but I figured I’d mention it here also.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Couple days now I’ve been having these freezes. The game freezes totally for 5-10 seconds and then the screen goes black for couple more seconds and then back to game. At one point I noticed that the windows had some kind of error message about display driver couldn’t respond. I’ve disabled ULPS that caused same kind of problems on other games, but there’s no effect on GW2.
This sounds exactly like the problems I’ve been having since the patch.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Something similar happened to me and my girlfriend when we were playing, she fell off a vista and died like normal. Once I rezzed her however she took one step then suddenly she was falling off the vista again and died once more. I’ve seen this several times, you take fall damage and then get rubberbanded back up and take the fall damage a second time, very frustrating.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Don’t stand there.
Oh and defensive stats ftw.
Welcome to WvW!the skill is aoe. is instant cast, thx for your humble advice
Oh and sarcasm off please, we are not friends
It’s a cone isn’t it? So you’d only get hit with all those if you’re very close to the ballista?

So tonight in EB I saw some fellow Kaineng players claim that a lot of our WvW population quit because they were tired of TC and FA teaming up against us. My palm hit my face so hard I think I hurt my neck…
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
Last night we had 2 zergs facing each other outside hills with the zerg I was in trebbing hills from the west. A mesmer in the enemy zerg was able to hit us with Temporal Curtain (900 range) but I couldn’t reach them with my necro marks (1200 range). Was this something shady or is there a legitimate way to extend the range of Temporal Curtain? I’m trying to avoid mentioning any servers here since I’m not trying to accuse anyone, I’m mostly just curious.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
This sounds like an interesting idea but from a development standpoint it’s probably too big to ever get done. I would like the ability to build small walls, similar to siege equipment except with collision so enemies can’t run through it. It wouldn’t have enough HP to stop a zerg, but if placed strategically it could slow them down enough to buy you some time.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
You won’t be able to buy ascended or racial armor with badges.
Only the standard karma temple armor.
Patch is nothing to look forward to tbh.
You already have seen the patch notes?

Well if they did carry over the current badges to gold ratio they use for siege, it’d be 10,000 badges to buy commander. Have fun farming that many as a new player.
A new player probably shouldn’t be a commander anyway.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
I’d like an option on my map to hide commander icons. Every time I go to Lion’s Arch there’s 8 or 9 commanders hanging around and it clutters up my map making it hard when I’m trying to do map completion or find something specific.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.
At least in Warhammer you could block fall damage if you had a shield.
