So I’ve just watched the announcement show for the new expansion and I’ve finally motivated myself to write a few words of gratitude to the amazing developers! I haven’t been playing the game constantly, but I’ve grown to appreciate the development of the game. I feel that where we are now is an amazing place – we’ve got a huge game with engaging content (especially HoT and LW3!), increasingly more and more interesting story and lore, enchanting artistry, and polished game systems. Thank you, ArenaNet, for giving me many years of wonderful entertainment where I rarely feel bored and I can always find something to do (since GW1!). I look forward to new mesmer elite specialisation, mounts (luckily they have a really well justified use!), and maps which will inspire my inner explorer. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and now TAKEMYMONEYWHERE’STHEPREORDER????!!!?!?!?!?!?!
:D
I really love Ebon Vanguard weapon skins. So much actually that I thought that it would be a good idea to make armours to accompany them! I hope that they would be designed by the same person who designed weapons so that they are just as elegant.
I also agree that raids should be added to LFG. When you add a tool that helps players to find a group, they’ll use it for different kinds of purposes and for whatever content there is. So adding a dedicated tab/category will be just more convenient for the users. And it doesn’t matter that LFG is tied only to parties and not squads – as was described above, we already have a method to bypass it.
So please, ArenaNet, just add this single tab and do whatever improvement entire LFG requires, we need this tool right now.
Plus, I think GW was always about accessibility and not restrictions. So let players do raids in pugs or organised groups. However we manage – it’s our business. :P
I’d like to report a bug during a fight with Mordermoth. After the phase where a character has to float in the air for a while, part of the arena collapses. Brahm attempts to open a rift while the player fights the Dragon and one of his/her comrades. When a teammate is weakened and it is time to activate the rift, I find it floating above the destroyed part of the arena and I cannot activate it, which successfully prevents me from continuing the fight. Moreover, if I die and restart the fight, the arena doesn’t repair and Brahm opens the rift just as I described it above – floating in the air.
I am playing solo, lvl 80, Norn, Mesmer Chronomancer.

I’m sorry! We’d never be cruel to our amazing players. We really will give the date as soon as we can.
Well, excuse me. How can you say that you’re not cruel, when you are? Where’s the pre-order?! How can I throw my money at you, when you’re not allowing me to! Hmpf!!!
(Love ya, take as much time as you need to make it great! :* )
Welp, I wake up, eat my breakfast, brush my teeth and check my Facebook, and a wild Kotaku article on GW2’s new gem conversion UI appears. And it doesn’t look pretty.
I’ll start with Gaile’s response to the entire drama: I don’t like being told, that by being in a minority that buys less than 400 gems at a time I am insignificant. This is how I felt when I read it. I always thought that ANet considers interests of all players, not only those who have million hours to play the game and earn piles of gems and make it rain.
Now I’ll move to my suggestions how to remedy the situation, because I don’t want to be accused of ranting…:
I’d keep both the old and the new exchange rate UIs. The first screen after opening the exchange might offer two options: to buy a fixed amount of gems/gold, or to buy a custom number of those. And I would bring back the grid showing how the rates are falling or rising. I want to have access to this type of information (power to the players!).
I’m done, thank you.
The update on my mesmer (first one is at the first page of this topic :P). Heritage Masque, Orrian Mantle and Vestments, Radiant Vambrances, Sheepskin Leggings and Heritage Shoes. Enjoy!
Oh yeah, removing beards is a neccessarry and unchangable technology. Look! Now we get beards and helms AT THE SAME TIME!
Thank you ANet.
what weapon is that that the guy is holding? the one that looks metal and is in the back. I don’t recognize it.
Looking at this robots artificial body features, I’d say it’s a woman, not a ‘guy’.
But this is still absurd! Some headgears clip with my Norn’s hair, so why don’t they make him bald? And why such mechanism from GW1 should be preserved in more advanced GW2? I’d expect that some kind of solution would appear or at lest try to tackle the problem.
This is absurd, and I don’t agree to it. ANet is a great company and made fantastic game, and our beards can’t disappear just because it’s a custom. So I report the same bug and eagerly await the patch.
It seems to be stuck on the Underworld as well.
Both things need to be done – leader indicator and automatic assignment of a new one.
Hello! I’d like to make a suggestion In reference to ‘Fashion’ achievements. Currently, every Race Specialty Armors achievement shows the number of acquired pieces, but not specifically WHICH ones the player got. I personally don’t remember which ones I bought, and I’m left with three ones from Tier 1. I don’t want to waste my money by guessing and buying the ones I already or had, and I’d be happy if I were shown which I need to get by checking my achievement.
Overall the Halloween Event was very enjoyalbe. Things I liked the most:
- Discovering the history of the Mad King – a very nice quest helping us to learn lore, with various activities and nice reward. ?
- Mad King’s Clock Tower – wow, that was tough! Requiring a lot of precision but luckily rather short. Thanks to that it wasn’t frustrating. I was constantly determined to do it again and again, like in old games!
- 2 pvp activities – GW1 style! Specific rules made them very interesting and entertaining!
What could be better in my opinion:
- Carving pumpkins – I don’t like activities, which require running around and finding things, unless they are somehow connected to the lore or story, like the book quest. I was tired and bored doing this.
- Ascent to Madness – I didn’t do this when it was available, because I didn’t have time! I wish it wasn’t closed, because only today I had a chance to play GW2 and enjoy Halloween. Now I can’t get ‘The Emissary of the Mad King’ title, only because I don’t have this mini-dungeon! I devoted my time to do all other activities and I feel like I was cheated. :/ I think it could (and should!) stay open as a part of one of activities from Mad Kings Realm, so that everyone had a chance to complete it, not only a number of players, who had time to access it.
Problem: Missing NPC
Server: Underworld
Area: Gendarran Fields
Who: Willoo, the Skill Challenge NPC, north from Oogooth Waypoint
I confirm it – the challenge itself is active, but NPC is missing. I’m playing on the Underworld server.
So far I encountered 1 revealing piece of armor on my mesmer – Strong Chestpiece. It reveals his belly and sides of his body. Even though all other pieces of armor were very stylish and I liked to play with them, creating different sets, my mes was all the time covered from head to toes. Some player want to watch their female avatars in sexy outfits and I want the same for males. Maybe I should create the ‘Emancipation of Male Clothing Movement’? I say – show us more body!
Oh my, now I have GS Machine Gun, with additional Blade Launcher instead of Grenade Launcher! Awesome!
In the Underworld server it’s also true – 3 hearts (Help Caer Evermore, Help the Priory’s excavation and Partake in the moot) I completed and dynamic events accompanying them are bugged. They are not spawning mobs, or items, or are just stuck at one stage and nothing happens.
Y, all above is true, I’d only like to add that there are no golems around, even though heart description advises to repair them.
He was already in a ‘show your norn’ thread, but I’m so proud of mine. <3 51 lvl, mask hidden because of clipping issues.
Oh, would be nice! I don’t know why, but it reminded me of Dante from DMC… ;P Maybe because mesmer could do some sick-crazy tricks with pistols. ;D
My 51 stylish norn mesmer. Behold! I hid the mask, because its ugly clipping with his hair.
Oh, that’s the first “not silly looking” mesmer I’ve seen!
Thank you! Now I see that these long minutes spent on dying and trying out different skin armors weren’t wasted.
I’m running full Domination and Chaos, with 15 in Dueling and using greatsword + 2 swords. I want to keep doing damage and remain active and not to die too quickly.
My 51 stylish norn mesmer. Behold! I hid the mask, because its ugly clipping with his hair.
Norns – born to be heroes. That is why I love them. <3
