Yes; because Heart of the Mists is the ugliest map in the game and sitting around idle in it definitely deters me from PvPing as much as I would prefer to.

Definitely not. Logged in on all affected characters and none of them received their reward chest. I’d love an update from ArenaNet’s regarding this.
Out of 13 characters who have 100% VB Map Comp, all 4 of my characters with 100% Central Tyria Map Comp didn’t receive their reward chest and (only) 1 of the characters without prior 100% Central Tyria Map Comp didn’t receive hers.
Just finished VB and no reward… seeing how long this has apparently been going on for I can only wonder what the hell is taking them so long to fix this…
I figure they’re probably trying to find a way to track down the cause of the bug as well as how to hand out the rewards to those affected without giving the unafflicted a second map completion reward chest.

Was in LA between Fractal runs, LFG’d for a group. Upon entering the instance, the two Chronomancers and myself (Daredevil) had our traits reset and our Elite Specializations locked (yet still completed). The specialization panel said they would unlock when HoT went live. We all relogged and our Elite Specializations unlocked and story reset to HoT chapter 1.
We finished our FotM run and then I had to log out. Haven’t checked yet if I had any of this affect Map Completion, but this was on a character who had the consistent map no-reward bug for those with 100% Central Tyria Map Completion.
Will check maps asap

Yep, VB is all veiled again on this character, and whatever she had of AB. She only has Hero Points and nothing else on all Maguuma maps. I checked on my other characters and only she has been affected by this bug (thank kitten).

I really agree with Silverbolt’s suggestions on Page 2. My main issue is that I love the concept of DD and I have a moderate amount of fun in its current state, but I feel like I’m handicapping myself by choosing Staff in favour of the weapons currently available.
Sure these Trait updates sound fine, but what’s most important to me are Staff dmg improvements, effect execution (i.e.: Weakening Charge evade, Debilitating Arc daze, Dust Strike PBAoE blind w/ blast finisher )… and animation improvements. I almost love Daredevil and I almost have fun playing it.
The current animations detract from the fun factor because, outside of Vault (which I agree with many, is suicide without evades), the weapon animations lack in style and are not very exciting. Most of the other Elite Specialization skills have cool new animations and Daredevil feels dull in comparison. Not that I think everything needs to be as gorgeously visualized (and sound designed as well!) as Druid or Reaper or Chronomancer or Scrapper, but it would be nice to feel that Daredevil was given moderately equal love in this department.
These such changes would have me loving the class and on its side, but until then I feel it has great potential but leaves much to be desired.

You don’t know as was stated by an A.Net person in another thread, the blog post today was to specifically talk about what they are doing for new players. That is the point. They make money bringing new players in, (you buy the box or DL you know) as they did with GW1. I for one can’t wait to see how that will end up.
My post is in reference to the entire upcoming Feature Pack; hense the adverb “still.”
Your defense is negligible and my statement remains accurate.
I am usually all in support of ArenaNet’s decisions, and refrain from negative speculation, but this “features” pack is lacklustre and uninspired.

I’ve been a huge advocate of camera changes since launch. When the camera was “bugged” to allow 1k+ zoom out during Halloween 2012 I was so exhilarated, but it was such a let-down when it was “fixed” back to the limited zoom distance we have now.
Here are the camera updates I’m most adamant about.
- First person camera – We could be forced out of it when in combat if combat is the issue.
- Increase max dolly (camera distance) distance – Increase this so much so I can really enjoy how gorgeous these landscapes look!
- Decrease min dolly distance – It would be so nice to really zoom in on the character model details. I’d say even closer than character customization or the Hairstyle Kit do.
- Manual camera height adjustment – This could be optional keybinds, and would be quite lovely.
- Stop ‘random snapping’ from happening
- Free orientation movement
- Manual FoV adjustment – 70-75 would be brilliant.
In addition, less automatic stuff. I dislike this auto-camera sleep eMote concept. If I lost control of my camera while in /sleep eMote, I would never /sleep again. Ever. Just like I stopped using town clothes and costumes once I could not dye or mix-and-match them. More options and opportunity is better. Restrictions and limitations are not.

Yeah a few of us stay up all night to help keep active, but we really do struggle at NA mornings. We have gained some, but we’ve lost some as well. A few of our WvW guilds have also been working harder getting more active members to join and participate.
Sad part about it is, with GoM facing the lower tier servers it’s just a massacre. We don’t have the numbers to compete with that. MAYBE during prime time we do, but that doesn’t last long. We actually went head to head in Stonemist yesterday and it was great, but that was about the only time we were evenly matched up.
GoM really sympathize with people who feel that way because we are constantly outnumbered when we’re fighting half the servers in t6, so we understand how it feels. We all just want good balanced competition also, but until we get more participation coverage around the clock to help keep us in t6, we’re always going be tossing back and forth between t6 and t7. And, until that happens, we’ll be struggling in t6 and destroying while we’re in t7.

Must be you encounter unskilled rangers, because there are a lot of them since it is one of the more difficult classes to master and simplest to casually PvE with… and because Warrior is not OP.

Gate of Madness lost ~5 guilds at the beginning of the summer due to the lack of dedicated WvW players. This is a terrible reason for people to leave, and only dooms the server further. I believe that WvW population balance should be a great priority. It has taken us 6 months to begin to recover from the loss but, without greater support and incentive from ArenaNet, it has been a difficult struggle uphill that has even chased other players out of our loyal WvW guilds and to other servers.

Warrior is definitely OP. Anyone who says it isn’t has ONLY played as warrior and never even bothered trying to play another class.
I’ve enjoyed all professions in WvW except for guardian and warrior, and say that it is not OP.

I’m cool with crafting (I usually don’t enjoy it), I just wish the acquisition of Dragonite wasn’t so restricted to one small aspect of the game. I refuse to go out of my way to farm world bosses because I do not find this enjoyable, so I accept that I’ll slowly get them via WvW… Eventually.

I don’t know what anyone here is complaining about. I’m quite confident that I’ve seen near equal ratios of players of all professions both melt away from DPS, conditions or stunted by CC as well as run, stealth or tank with everlasting evades and/or damage mitigation. The professions are very well-balanced in my opinion, and anyone complaining about buffs and nerfs are short-sighted by their own bias.
That said, I have definitely seen different trends among different servers in WvW. When I’m fighting FC, I know to expect major condition-based groups; against AR, I have faced parties full of face-tank Guardians and Warriors; HoD often has us outnumbered, but melt like glass when you catch them off guard (even their heavies). If I’m having trouble in any given scenario, I don’t go blaming ArenaNet or the most recent balance update, I ask what I am doing wrong and what I can do to improve.

Yea, I think Anet agrees with you too. But WvW’s dueling is actually very split from sPvP dueling. For example, sPvP has one amulet for all your stats with not every type available, while WvW allows you more customization. In addition, not everyone knows how to use sPvP. This kinda leads into the last point that people in WvW are looking to not only duel, but to meet people! This is especially true for me. In HotM, you don’t really know which server someone’s from, or if they’re even in your league (note: not skill related!).
Resultantly, WvW duels allow people to meet others who like to duel and whom they will see out in WvW.
Finally, it’s WAY easier to organize large dueling groups pertaining to particular servers in WvW itself.I hope that apology is at least a bit convincing, and thanks for reading!

I really hope that the new map will present an opportunity for people to duel in the ways you describe without compromising the queues for the other maps.
Just ignore him he is a nub. Its not like any of these servers will have a queue at the bl on the weekdays anyways.

I don’t recall ever dying to ART or even anyone from GoM in a 1v1 yet, but I did get run over by a zerg led by That One Spartard today in EB Q.Q. Oh well, It was fun killing the bads in [ART] that tried to 1v1 or even 2v1.
I’m not worried if you recall or not, clearly you’ve got a losing attitude and that’s why you’re here kittening and moaning on the forums and calling people names.
Everybody all thinks the other servers zerg more than them. Equally, we all think their players will only run away from a 1v1 and only fight when it’s 3-5v1 in their favour. I don’t doubt you’ve had that happen to you, and I know very well I’ve had it happen to me. It’s really the same story for everyone, though, so I don’t know why you think you’re so unique and special. We’ve all felt that way before and we’re all just trying to survive, make some points, and have fun killing everyone else.
The commanders from [ASH], [ART], [RH] and [CODE] all have experience leading both large zergs and small espionage outfits where we are constantly outnumbered, and they do a kitten good job of it. I’m sure you’d say the same about your commanders and that you’re proud of the great moments you’ve had as well; I’m not here to take that away from you.
But why don’t you stop crying and enjoy the great game WvW is?

Here’s an example of the situation we are experiencing, Leeroy:
I am attacking Legendary Skeletal Lich and he spawns additional mobs. In the old targeting system, I would be able to use my TAB key to “target nearest enemy” and this would target the Skeleton closest to me so that I can kill it before it reaches melee range and begins attacking me. In this new system, no matter how often I attempt to use my TAB key to target nearest enemy, my target remains locked on the Legendary Skeletal Lich. Therefore, I am required to left-click my mouse cursor on each individual additional mob that I would like to attack. This left-click targeting is an unsatisfactory option because it more often than not selects allies or nothing rather than the mob I would like to target.
Like Seifer Gin states, this new option has extremely hurt my gameplay.

I absolutely detest the new targeting system and would like to suggest an option for players to choose which targeting system they prefer.
I used to utilize the targeting system as a fantastic way of controlling my distance from a foe and my own mobility, and the new targeting system has made it extremely difficult to switch targets when there are “more important” targets around. This issue has made a combat system that I once loved far more frustrating than anything else.
I understand that Champion farmers are more concerned with ignoring other mobs and dps’ing the Champion down as soon as possible with their auto-attack, and prefer this option so they can get their hit in; but for those of us who enjoy the more fluid targeting option when applying our combat skill to multiple targets, an option to choose the old targeting system would be much preferred.
Targeting closest is far better than prioritizing mobs based on their ‘rank’ (for lack of better term), in my opinion, and I know others who feel the same. In PvP and WvW, I have found it even less consistent. Is it possible we can have the targeting option so that players can choose which suits their combat style best?

Was kinda’ wondering why ArenaNet didn’t think of it from the beginning since they seem so progressive in other areas. Until it’s updated, I should rebind my hide HUD as well… Anything that helps me better savour our gorgeous environments is a plus.

Took me 3 attempts my first time, and everywhere from 1-5 attempts every other day to complete (maybe 7 on a bad day). Completed it a lot over Wintersday (though not as much as I would have liked to, due to family time over the holiday). I think it is a wonderfully fun jump puzzle, and I am so happy that we keep seeing more added to the game (even if only for events).
Although I am one of those who loved the Clock Tower (2hrs first completion), and I simply love Jump Puzzles in general. I have given moral support on many friends who get frustrated with the jump puzzles and many who consider them “impossible” were also able to complete this one (albeit after several hours of focus and determination). I think the more determined you are and the more patience you have with learning the mechanics of jumping the better you will develop this skill.
I wasn’t that great when I started, but I enjoyed doing them, so I’ve been determined to work on them. Now, I find I can do all of them that I find with ease (or a fond challenge at toughest!).

I agree completely. I also really wish I could do Bell Choir Ensemble with friends.
I do like Snowball Mayhem as it is, but an option for doing it with friends would also be cool because it’s a real shame that friends and I can’t enjoy participating in these holiday activities together.
For future Wintersday events, it would be amazing if parties were just at very least put in the same instance.
As for the Toypocalypse event, I had a very easy time getting the 5 Dolyak achievement with a PUG so I can’t comment there.
Though I do think I would care to play it more than once if it 1) let me play with friends, and 2) actually rewarded my playing it.
I do feel slighted that ArenaNet is lowering the achievement requirement though.

I still love GW2 a lot. I have a lot of fun playing the actual content even though I sometimes feel bitter about not getting rewards very often, and it’s doubtless the best MMORPG out there; and I’ve got about 700 or so hours since early access (don’t know if that’s much, just know it means I clearly am enjoying the game). Hell, I’ve been playing since GW1 came out (even bought nearly everything in that store), and often support ANet like a blind fanboy.
That being said, I am with you on this 100%.
I feel like an old friend is acting totally out of character, doing things unnatural for her that I would not ever have imagined her doing. I feel like I don’t know this friend, and I wonder the rationality behind her decisions, yet she is unwilling to address the issue. Or maybe she just got money-hungry, and forgot the ideal she used to share of not forcing players into one way of playing the game or another, and found what works for her and doesn’t give a flying kitten what any of her friends think or how they feel about it so long as she’s bringing in the cash. Either way, I as a long supporter, the lack of reward in this game in the areas that I typically enjoy have definitely helped me to spend more time away from it.
I dislike gambling. It goes against my nature. And it upsets me greatly that the types of rewards that I like most are available almost purely by gambling. I’m not against RNG Chests, I’m sure many people like them, I just don’t believe anything should be available strictly by a RNG Chest but, rather, there should be greater content-based options… reward for challenge, reward for playing the game… to put it frankly, reward for actually doing stuff.

I wish we were able to simply display Town Clothes Headgear over our armour (instead of a full costume). In GW1, I absolutely loved having my character in their normal gear accented with a hat or a scarf. It seems so strange to me that this is not allowed in GW2 and it’s one of the game’s few lesser moments.
Also, if Town Clothes offered a permanent speed boost, would people use them more?

I don’t mean to sound like I’m trolling here, this is a genuine question:
How were so many of you moved by the loss of your mentor?
I do agree they are all better than Trehearne’s arc, but I find all the dialogue so generic and all the character development so rushed and flat that I find it extremely difficult to care for any of these one-dimensional characters.
Not critiquing any of you, I’m curious because I want to understand; because I wish I could be moved by this game the way you are.
