This probably seems like a really weird thing to report, but I find it distracting and somewhat disheartening. Female Norn’s breasts seem to have an odd discoloration that’s incredibly noticeable on darker skin. Here is a link to an imgur gallery of my Norn displaying this glitch, it shows with any shirt that reveals a large amount of the chest, and as you can see from the image where I removed the shirt it seems to not be dependent on the armor at all but actual part of the coloration of the model. http://imgur.com/a/g92Dy
I wouldn’t complain about this usually but I believe that this doesn’t happen to human females?
The Rebel Court is no friend to the Arbor. We stand against the Greater Court and we stand against the Dream. There is no peace in such a position and the Rebel Court needs members that can stand against both fronts. We specialize in espionage and subterfuge though we have use for any skills your courtier might offer to our cause. Anything we can use to deal a blow against the Arbor is good here.
Our court is a haven for the broken and bitter, cast out and wronged. Many have suffered directly or indirectly from the cruel hand of the Arbor and we will not tolerate abuse of power or rank.
We will bring the Greater Court to its knees; shape Nightmare into what it should be.
OOC Info: DEFY is an rp based Nightmare Court guild. The theme is of rebels and misfits that don’t fit in with the greater court. Or even characters that are fleeing danger or abuse from previous courts. DEFY follows a typical Nightmare Court structure, but the courtiers here are typically more deluded than usual, holding high standards of nobility. You’re perfectly free to join with rule breakers and trouble makers, however! Please read over the rules and theme sections of the forum before submitting your app.
Applications will be responded to when we can get to them, please expect a wait of at least a day.

All and all I’m not happy with any of this. Coming from someone who never posts on the forums I was motivated to do so when I loaded up the patch today. Not one person I have talked to personally, be it in my guild or in map chat, has said one good thing about this feature pack.
You’ve taken away most of the things that make levelling any fun at all, low level skill points, gathering nodes, vistas, and personal story.
Some people have pointed out that it may be a move by Anet to make personal story unlock at level 10 to dissuade Key Farming, but I really don’t think that’s the case? Otherwise y’all would have just changed the reward given by the personal story, I think?
Moving on from that small point, the UI is buggy and weird, and I don’t feel as motivated to level any of my alts. Especially when I’ve spent so much time, and money, buying all these weapon and armor skins and now they don’t even unlock until level 6? Granted level six is easy to get to but… I don’t know. This doesn’t feel like the same game at all.
The new way the skills for weapons unlocks is just making the game HARDER for some nerbies, I’m sure, and what the heck is with this and having to unlock downed skills? That’s ridiculous, honestly! And the downed option doesn’t even happen for several levels, so now when my little lowbie characters cross the damage threshold they just die, not even giving me a fighting chance. It feels like you’ve dumbed down your game for the sake of new players, but in most cases you’ve just made it harder for them.
Wasn’t the point of having vistas and skill points in the low level areas to give people options for levelling? What now, you want us to come back to these low level areas to do map completion once we’re higher level? It’s like everything is backwards now, and completing maps doesn’t even feel rewarding.
This is a lot of complaints, and I’ve seen several threads like this one, but I really think everyone who’s upset about this feature patch should make themselves heard. Please consider reworking the features you’ve installed, and even, you know, not fix things that aren’t broken in the future? I’d like my fun game back, please…
Maybe that’s what it is, but there are no flame legion that roam that area.
And thanks. I have mad spraypaint skills.
I was farming the hologram projectors in the Charr starting area and found a…thing. Is it from a previous build or something? This large structure appears in this place far away, and if I get closer to it it disappears. What the heck? Pictures for reference.
If you listen in on some of the conversations that npcs have sylvari are just as curious about death as they are about life, so a sylvari necromancer isn’t that weird. Going for a power build instead of a minion master is even something that a certain important sylvari necro does in the game.
And the skin options can make for some interesting, necromancy motifs.
I used number 7 for my guardian, number 8 for my ranger, and number 5 for my elementalist.
I think that the problem is that male Norn and female Norn are a bit too different. The males look distinctly not human, but the females look a little too much like a scaled up human to me.
They do not look exactly the same, but besides the slightly less curved torsos, and slightly wider shoulders female norn resemble female humans quite a bit.
Unlike the males that have wider shoulders, smaller heads, and shorter legs than normal humans.
The Slvari are basically just elves with a twist added in. And the Nightmare court is very similar to the Unseelie court in Fey myths.
My Sylvari all reflect like that, and it is a bit less noticeable on a lighter tone.
Not really. If you compare the male Norn model to the male Human model there are many differences. For instance, head and shoulder size are extremely different. Leg length compared to torso length is shorter on norn males. Norn males have wide, flat feel compared to human males. Also, neck thickness is greater on Norn.
Now, besides the general torso shape of female Norn being less “womanly” they look more like scaled up humans. Even though there are some differences. Wider set shoulders, ect.
Well, even a lot of npcs don’t wear cultural armour. Sometimes it’s a mix of things. Like wearing normal heavy armour and wearing cultural shoulders.
Addressing the age thing: First of all, circumstance can visibly age people beyond their years. I think Braham looks like a person who has been forced to grow up too early, and has been in too many fights.
Another thing, Eir could very well be like 60, and look the way she does. It says on the wiki that norn can live to be around 120 years old and still be strong and healthy. They don’t age like humans.
Thanks for the info.
Is it possible for them to drop in game, or do I have to either save and buy them on the trading post, or save zillions of gold and make them myself?
Our guild has just been created and we’re looking for people who are interested in roleplaying in game. We’ll also be doing Dungeon runs, Story Quests, and Living World.
Map completion and Daily, Monthly completion are also in our goals.
Our main server is Sea of Sorrows, but we accept anyone from any server. Guesting is always an option, and if you would like to join just for dungeon runs that’s fine, too.
Representing is only an option. We only request that you represent if you’re either
currently roleplaying, would like to roleplay, or in a group with other guild members.
We hope to add Guild Missions in the future, but it’s a goal to work towards.
If you’re interested either post on here, message me, or whisper me ingame. My main is Amarwen Rhulinde.
Is Sylvari armour supposed to glow? I have the T2 helm, the T1 top, and the T3 leggings, and only the helm glows on my character. I would think that the T3 would glow as well.
The t2 female armour glows in game for me, but the t3 and t1 do not.

Straight outta WoW, looks like Braham got bored of crafting and raiding. Came here instead and brought his favourite items with him.
If by this you mean that both are maces with glow and both shields with glow then…sure. But they don’t look the same besides that.

Yeah, and I just checked and it does it on my Charr, too. It’s the Seeker Coat that does it for me. Haven’t checked any other coats yet.
It’s like that on my human ranger, and on my charr thief as well. Both female with smaller body types.
You might just want to try the racial armour.
Or, you know, Anet could keep some originality.
If you get the chef’s outfit on the trading post and put it on it’s leaf themed, and looks really cool as your ton clothes. Just a suggestion. Quite a few npcs wear it in game.
Another argument against the “frills get in the way” thing is that male light armour, sometimes at low level but usually at high level, is still kind of frilly. Or ruffled, if you will. The Feathered set is probably the most ruffled out of them, but still. Honestly even some of the cultural light armours look like they’re made to look cool over being practical. And since most Asura npcs as far as I can tell are spellcasters, they’re going to be wearing the less practical light armour. Or the variant npc town clothes.
As a suggestion, the T3 human racial armour top and shoulders look good with the duelist pants.
Depending on your class there is an armour set called Shadow Armour, it’s level 25 and you can get it on the trading post. Otherwise, here you go: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/norn-light.htm
You want more carrying capacity? Buy a bigger bad slot on the trading post. They’re not as expensive as you would think.
They’re definitely the 4 most human looking faces, so I would understand if they were popular.

I use numbers, 1, 2, 4, and 7 on my female Sylvari.
Recent updates to my Order of Whispers Sylvari Mesmer. She’s Wielding:
Zhaitan’s Reach http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zhaitan%27s_Reach
And Arcanus Obscurus http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Arcanus_Obscurus
Otherwise she’s wearing a hodge-podge of armour.
If you’re just looking for dungeon runs you can join a guild on any server because you can run dungeons cross server. You probably wouldn’t get the benefits from the influence though (depending on how nice your guild is ^.~).
I run a dungeon clearing guild on Crystal Desert and most of our players are from different servers. You can check here for the full information.

That sounds really good, actually. I know I can be part of multiple guilds so having one for running dungeons would be great.
I’ve recently hit 80 and I’d like to start running dungeons without the hassle of trying to find groups.
Snagged from the Norn forums, I thought it also would be cool to do this for humans.

I can’t really tell what’s wrong here.
I’m actually looking for a roleplaying guild right now on SoS, but no luck so far.
Are there any roleplaying Guilds out there? And even greater of a question, does anyone on GW2 roleplay at all? Using just a small comparison here to WoW, there were tons of roleplaying guilds on servers on there when I played it, but I haven’t run into any roleplay oriented people on GW2 at all.
I like the voice, too. But that might be because I usually make young looking characters, and the voice sounds a bit young ranged 18-25.
I had Tybalt on my main and that fight hit me hard. I think they used him just to drive in the point that no one is safe, and to make you feel like you’ve lost someone. It’s good motivation for your character to be even more kitten at the big zombie dragon.
Yeah, just save up gold and wait for the exchange rate to go up. Or ask for it as a birthday present from family or something,.
