New PvE-Transfers: We demand the same rewards! This is discimination, we should have the same Pip ticks.

~You’re right, it is discrimination. Truly it is against the people that avoided the mode, and left it abandoned for quite a few years that come in only when there is an abundance of rewards they or you feel entitled to for minimal effort.

You didn’t put time into WvW, you waited until it looked juicy for your account wallet. So no – you do not “deserve” the same reward, you are not ‘entitled’ to the same reward, and you have earned less than what Anet has given you for wandering into a mode and contributing as little as possible (Including AFK pip-ticking).

While there are those people that used EotM to gain diamond, myself not included – spent probably less than 20hrs there, no reward systems are without imperfection. However, the fact remains EotM is a version of WvW – more for newcomers and leveling (Previously). So if Person-x has spent 500hrs there for ranks, I don’t personally find it offensive and outrageous as some of you level 20 nubs do. Go earn something in
the game instead of begging.

Also, im not diamond and still dont care.

Would you want to see any changes to Courtyard before it came back? A new mechanic, perhaps?

I’d prefer a few straight “deathmatch” maps. All I feel like Courtyard itself needed was better options for exiting the base (farther apart) since essentially either direction could be hit by a single players range skill. If I had to suggest an exit I’d say leave an opening at base of course and then: 1 exit right side of map for Blue, and 1 exit left side of map for Red. Add in base-only superspeed/swiftness so u can exit quickly when getting camped on one side before they chase to the other.

I’m not 100% sure why I had this idea, but I thought it would be at least fun to watch:

So as asura using 100-blades already resembles a pretty crazy, albeit stagnant, version of Yoda going ham on someone…. so what if you could move while swinging and the animation became even more of a twirl with the greatsword similar to some sort of mix between warrior axe5 and ranger axe5.

That’s all, just movement and an animation alteration for fun. I know I would run from the 2’ft tall toothy monster swinging a greatsword like it was a foam stick at my face.

You’re speaking on interfering with 60-120? Okay, well take 2 “invisible” tags with their 25 while everyone is wondering why the map is queued but there is no one doing anything. Sounds like teamwork!

Well no1 is laughing, but you sure take everything personally don’t you buddy? But sure lets talk about 2 invisible tags again, cause guess what that’s 40 people working together, with 20 random pugs doing their own thing or following those invisible tag groups since bodies are not invisible, nor orange swords. And if you still don’t like it thats too bad cause its at the very least 20 working together another 20 working together, and then the 20 randoms that do their own thing with or without a map tag anyway lol.

As much as you’d like to drive this more off topic by spewing how much I apparently hate everyone because your own opinion is the be-all-end all so much that you rapid reply quotes – I’m going to go have a pizza now, and continue to tag how I please as I have since launch. Im argueing for a play style for people. The only one here argueing that some1 elses play style is less important is you. Cheers kiddo

Back to the topic. A Private tag for guilds, really would make little difference to the population at large and would unlikely “harm” anything at all.

If you’re a good commander, people follow with or without a tag. Even roaming youll have 3-4 pile on to hang. Adding the private tag simply lets the guilds run more organised when they don’t want pugs around. And whether you love the idea or not many guilds do just that anyway. So the only thing the idea Jirayu.5834 had would really do is become a quality of life for guild play anyway. And if you’ve ever been in 20man guilds – every1 that pays any attention knows when they’re on a map – tag or tagless. If they’re good an entire zerg may still pile in behind them and they do.

Its not like an entire zerg squad untagged cannot simply target their ‘driver’ to follow him already. So again for people that still don’t get the point and like to just attack everything on these forums: Jirayu’s idea is truly only a Quality-of-Life change/benefit to guilds at no real cost to anyone else. Like, why the bananas would a pug “tag” try to run tagless – these are two completely different commander types you folks are lumping into one beast…

I think the issue here is that many people think that the squad is effectively a large party for you to use, but that’s not the whole story. It’s part of having a tag, which is a map-wide tool of organizing things. Making it invisible to the whole map defeats the purpose. The squad features are an incentive to tag.

Well GG you missed the entire point. But let me spell it out for you – we as a community do not know what we want. Anet in terms of WvW does not know what they want/need. Thereby, again “muddying” the waters of what could be, should be, what we want, and is.

And as for roamers basically everyone has roamed at some point. But unfortunately in terms of point value; no they generate far less both in PPT and Kills at prime hours. They also do not often contribute much to the server which was why I listed them. This is “generalized”, some of course do and they know if they do – those that can solo and duo towers while killing, those that actually flip camps. But those few that stand alongside Stonemist during prime hours saying just that as stated above- no they can go to Obsidian Sanctum. Because like you said, no1’s play should be valued over anothers, and guess what – that interferes with like 60-120+ people when it would not in OS. But again the point of listing them for your rightous self, was to point out that theyre often the ones value’ing the good of a few over the many.

Now, sit down imagine all your pugs leaving. Server guilds stay. Server probably lives on just fine and accumulates a pug/non wvw-guild population again over a few months.

Now imagine all your guilds leaving and guess what you’re left with; a linked server that won’t do anything unless until either a very dedicated Pug-Tag shows up (Few and far between) or a guild transfers to them.

So the point is not who is more valuable. It is who drives the heart of servers and WvW and it is the Guilds whether you choose to acknowledge that or not you’re right idc.

Anet has never supported actual Guild play in WvW, and they’re not likely ever going to. They will continue to appease the few outspoken “pugs” that come into the forums with bright ideas about what WvW should be for the non-guild player (All those not running in an organised group of like 10+). # I want to Roam leave me alone and dont come near me tags/zergs, I want better rewards, and I want gimmicky tactics so I can solo defend an entire objective from anything other than 30 people. #

In fact there was the one time a dev actually discredited GvGs. Some old players may still remember it, but the fact is they are not going appeal to Guilds because even though Guilds & their leaders are the driving force of WvW-servers Anet has their “Vision” of what WvW should still be: a PPT siege-fest. And the only thing we’re ever going to get will be the illusion of choice generated by “polls” based on this agenda where less contributing and brand new players have an equal voice against longstanding WvW players and guild leaders. This obviously “muddies” the water on what we as a community want creating things like the Cannon-beta testing; because some of the voters have no idea what they’re doing and may not even stick around past a month.

For WvW to improve. Anet needs to re-examine their very fundamentals of what WvW “should be.” Good luck with that considering the gimmick thread with “roles” this week got attention and every old “combat oriented” guild just rolled their eyes again in defeat.

Sword design is silly

As far as sword design goes I’ve felt the auto-chain attacks have been awkward for a while. Overall not a big deal, but why is the 2nd skill a 3/4 second strike while the 3rd (which does more damage + a “rift” gimmick) continue to remain 1/2second. In most classes the strongest strike, or those with gimmicks, or simply the final chained strike is the longest cast.

  • 1 Preparation Thrust (1/2)
  • 2 Brutal Blade (3/4)
  • 3 Rift Slash (1/2)

It has been a long while since they patched the sword, but I believe this strange cast-time setup was just another “overlooked” thing from Anet back when they altered the “Rift”. As, if I can still remember, I believe it used to be on the second chain attack – now Brutal Blade which then was followed by the “fixes” to the Skill 2 + 3 Precision Strike & Unrelenting Assault.

Well, that is exactly it. I like this season, progress is being made but we can all agree there’s more to be done or ya’ll would be quiet on the forums lol. Above is an idea, I fully understand hard numbers could either inflate mmr or create a realm of perpetual mmr climbing. More or less seeking possibilities from the realm of other very successful games which are slow to show here in GW.

But we’re here trying to make Guild Wars-2 more competitive yes? To say “never” or nothing “like” that could happen is more like avoiding going through the trouble because its too hard or requires multiple steps. These types of things are not new in competitive games, maybe GW, doesn’t have a system in place for that right now. That is fine, but they can easily be successful ~cough~ Overwatch.

I like the idea of giving a bonus pip or 2 to the losing team if scores are super close. Just have to be careful about organized farming.

Picking up from another Thread…

It would be really nice if something similar to 1-mmr Point per Top Stat earned in a match became a thing. I don’t believe it would lead to any large mmr gains, but rather provide an outlet for skilled players to climb out of kitten when losing.

We’ve all had that guy quit mid-match, some of us have tried our hardest still to win that match to no avail. The most I have seen in Top Stats per person on any sort of regular basis is three. In this case we could say Top Damage+Kills+Offense just for visualization and with this system = +3 mmr points win or lose.

These tiny slivers of points for skill and effort could lesson the misery of consecutive losses and also reward a player for their actual contribution to a match. Once a 50/50 win rate sets in it could also help determine who truly deserves to climb a little higher in ranks once we start gaining or losing minimal mmr points.

What’s your guys thoughts?

Identities of Linked Worlds

I’m not sure rolling servers into a color coordinated naming system would really “promote” server identity. I think it is rather the opposite as a “color/team identity” more broadly defined and interchanged between servers over time. Also, that being said as a player of 4yrs in WvW I’m not opposed to remaining the same, or this change – I just believe the folks complaining about it will continue to do so in a slightly altered way.

It is most often the Guilds that define the server rather than just the average playerbase. That is not to say the average player is not important – they very much are. But we all know or hear who is moving to, from, or resides on particular servers guildwise. We also all hear “Coverage is needed at X-timezone” for which a guild may transfer, be built over a length of time within the server, or one of those distinguished “non-wvw guild” players tag up and attempt to fill and help out. Weather or not those solo-tag players with no guild at their back are loved, or not, they’re important; otherwise your server activity would break down pretty quickly. There are a very limited number of people willing to be shouted at in chat by those otherwise less inclined to pick up the responsibility. No rally point simply means you’re probably not fighting zergs much, and unless you enjoy staring out of towers at a sea of red enemies a lot of folks leave the map.

Possible Solution for Two WvW Situations (Tournaments + Identity):

1. Tournaments are Returned

  • These tournaments fall under the color coordination system rather than the server titled system we have currently

2. Scoring System Alteration from Previous Tournaments

  • Scores are taken per tier at the end of each week and applied to a Color-wide Pool posting (Possibly here on the forums somewhere). Green3[1st]+2+2+1[3rd]=8 total score to green for the week applied to the duration of the tournament (2-3 month Pool)
  • This means there are 4 Green teams, 4 Red teams, and 4 Blue teams (Just like we already have) except during the tournament; in addition to your weekly matchup scores and resets your final score is pool’d together with the other servers of your color and tracked @ (Forums or In Game Window)

Why does/can this help?
1. It brings back tournaments in a new light.
2. It encourages comradery between multiple tiers for your color (Blue probably won’t win if it loses across 3 of the 4 tiers). It also gives the color meaning – something it really doesn’t just “earn” because we changed server names to team Blue/Red/Green.
3. It encourages Guilds to spread out among the servers and not pile into one tier in order to win the tournament (This in and of itself helps promote activity across timezones as they fill out lacking timezones to obtain warscores)
4. Similar Rewards to Prior tournaments could be reinstated on perhaps a monthly basis (3 payouts per tournament) to the individual player
5. A WvW Legendary Backpiece component could be implemented to the winning color and minor components or portions of it to the 2nd/3rd place colors across all servers.

And as a Final Note relating to #3 above it may be wise to offer 1/2-off Transfers to same team servers throughout the tournament or simply on a specific day each week pre- or post-matches(Thursday/Saturday). This would allow the movement between servers to go more smoothly and still provide enough incentive for a guild/player(s) to not simply transfer every single week as if it was a free transfer to team colored server tiers. Unless they’re filthy rich, in which case you make more money to give us more content

What ever happened to taking PvP out of WvW?

I mean seriously…..lay off on this. Most of us don’t have a home anymore for 3 months. The wins probably don’t mean anything when it comes to settings rankings during this beta period either. I highly highly doubt a bl winning all matches during these 3 months will mean it will be placed against a borderland with a similar win rate afterwards…lol. How would they even do that? Its 2 bl per team. Would both bl share the win rate at the end when they are split? Then they could be fighting against eachother as equals….only one is 3x larger than the other and will eat it whole.

The point of kicking duelers is to allow people who want to join ur zerg into the server faster right? The point of letting people into the zerg faster is to let them have fun…right? Then the point of the game is for each person in the game to enjoy it and have fun. So then why should a zergling’s fun be greater than a dueler’s fun? That’s like saying a player not getting enough kills or not being in the zerg or who is new and isn’t contributing enough should be kicked from the server so someone more desirable can join. It’s a very flawed mindset.

Part1: Oh poor grammar and no point to this entire paragraph.
Part2: So you’re argueing you want to duel on EB because you “can” even though better options are actually available to you. Zergs kill you on EB, you take up their Q – doesn’t happen in the Sanctum. Duelists have a safehaven there, Q a whole map for yourselves if you want, that’s why the old GvGs took place in Sanctum, but no duelists can organize this because you can’t think past me, myself, and I.

This “ruins” your fun because you have to do the duel someplace that doesn’t interfere with 50 other people trying to come through a Q. I guess we can rationalize your “fun” to simply stopping others from enjoying the map because, unlike you, they can’t “WvW” in the Sanctum, Guild Arenas, or PvP.

You’re dueling in EB on your server’s good graces, they’re not playing WvW on yours so no, they have every right to “lay-onto” you as they please.

$$$ BuG - Guild Hall 24hrs Progress Lost

So within a 24hr period the guild reached, or bugged out and reached lv37. Once at lv37 (4/20/16) guildmembers fairly rapidly donated a bunch of materials toward primarily +5 Supply Capacity in the War-Room.

Pre-Patch all items were complete for this upgrade except 2 things: Aetherium, and the Evergreen Lodestones were 17/25.

Post-Patch all items were halved (Mystic Coins), or Zero’d (Evergreen Lodestones).

Return these to our Treasury or Guild Bank at least to be donated later Please. A response might be nice on occasion as this isn’t the 1st time we’ve submitted a Hall bug like this around a patch.

The Wolves have re-established and returned to Open-Field world vs world after riding out what remained of the t2/t3 GvG-scene of 2015 with AdventureThyme [BMO].

t2 desert camps

It would be easy enough to move all the camp guards closer to the center, so you’d always have to fight all of them to flip a camp. But to be clear, you guys are arguing that you want to do ‘more PvE’, which seems to go against the forum’s current agenda of ‘less PvE.’

Fair Enough, yet at the same time it is a mistake. Rather than argue with your population, fix it. Also no, “less pve” in general on these forums relates to Dredge/Hylek/Ogres, random NPC mobs, and especially the events in the Desert BL. Lets remember that meta-event ya’ll disabled recently.

There is PvE that hinders the game-type, and there is PvE that can also add some life to it. In this case a camp needs to be defended, by something, so the average roamer can’t flip a camp solo. 3-5 People may be a decent goal; however misplaced and inactive NPC defenders might as well not exist and the player’s post was not talking referring to the general PvE issues in WvW; simply the placement of these NPCs that yes, you did overlook and no it wasn’t a big deal overall.

If you could kill the Lords in Legacy of the Foefire without aggro-ing the other 4 defending NPC’s you would quickly resolve that issue. (PvE)
And that would have nothing to do with “Hey should we have PPT in PvP?” (Do we need more PvE because we had to fix something? No)

Are these people asking for more PvE events/map effects/bonuses as you note (Yes this is the general issue at hand not NPCs at camps)? No; this is a single engagement, and moving the NPC’s or extending aggro-range still makes, a single engagement it’s just slightly more difficult.

So is “Low Skill Floor” + Good “1v1’er”

The 2nd of which is definitely not true. Unless you’re willing to admit that it is skillbased to which you counter your own arguement toward Krysard. Reaper is not a 1shot class similar to Mesmer or Thief bursts. They were always meant to be better in teamfights as that boosts their shroud and because they have access to a lot of AoE that spreads the damage around.

Reapers are not doing more damage than other classes in PvP. That is a fact, you can just as easily roll Revenant, Mesmer, or Dragonhunter and reach those 1million damage marks.

They became “meta” at this current time due to a few small tweaks: elementalists lost the invulnerability to conditions from Diamond Skin, Warrior’s beserker stance was kittened, and a boost to Scepter3 with Torment. That is the nature of balancing PvP in all games, and all it would take to shift the meta again would be to update Warriors for example who can cc-lock the necro (This class like most classes also has more than one form of stability and a multitude of stunbreaks).

But all we’ve done here is take the time to list things that may or may not be valid about Reaper. I am going to use warrior again on the basis that the majority of PvP’rs would agree they are currently exempt from the meta and actually may need a small buff somewhere with Beserker’s lackluster PvP performance:

13+ Stun/Daze Skills
Beserker Stance and its Pulsing Boons
2 Endure Pain(s)(Direct counter to Raw Damage players)
Potentially unable to be Immobilized
Able to revive up to 5 players with Battle Standard
An array of Leaps/Gap Closers to escape or pursue opponents
Healing Signet -Look never hit 6 again no skill involved healing!
Massive single target damage (“cough” – Gun Flame)

We can make any class sound good. But the fact is Anet doesn’t always need to nerf something because it became meta (For the tiers up to Ruby until which competent people start running cleanses again and dont just clear the first 4 conditions on them [cripple, vuln, blind, 2bleedstacks, ect] but wait until there are damaging conditions). Shifting the meta may simply involve buffing a single class or skill elsewhere in the game, same regarding dropping a class from the meta.

Message me in game. If you’re on during eastern time-evenings I can give you some practice or advice for any class you’re playing or trying to. I’ve helped a lot of folks the past 3+ years in WvW/PvP/GvG play. You put the effort in, you’ll at least come out of it with something even if it is just insight.

But all players have a skill-cap; the most someone can do for you is help you figure out and reach that plateau. It is often most limitted (This time in my opinion) by reaction time. Too often someone will stand in damage that 1-2seconds extra that a diamond or legendary evaded initially as it landed.

Sapphire is an acceptable “casual” pvp rank tier. These people probably know several classes and a meta-build or two. You put some effort in to cross out of Emerald. Reaching Ruby is pretty good of course, and its at diamond+ where you tend to find the people that stretch the meta or rather know when they need to run builds off-meta, rather than just guess.

Instead of swapping classes I’m able to swap between 2 different builds (Condi/Power ect) on 5 different classes to play as effectively as possible and keep an opposing team guessing. What's the Appeal of Alpine Borderlands?

I personally don’t love either map.

The basic design of Alpine was pretty linear, simple, and open. Meaning, for the most part you were able to travel from North & South or East & West with basically nothing except another player getting in your way.

The design of the Desert map brought in new “barricades” that hinder players from moving, mostly, North and South. You must break through them, and as a solo-roamer or small group, this takes a while. Otherwise you’re basically forced through sentry points that will mark you. However, it is moving East and West on this map that is vastly different than Alpine. Again, in Alpine you had nothing really to bar your movement, but in the Desert there are massive vertical cliffs (especially on the east side) that you must navigate. It may not look far, but these areas add in a lot of S-turns, on top of “possibly” needing to go through a barricade again, or around it, depending on your heading. These narrow passes could add flavor to some fights, and are used as “choke-points” but most groups simply avoid them and will pass through the open Oasis before returning to the more rigorous terrain and an objective.

There was a fine-line I think where verticality was acceptable. If we rated Alpine and its relatively level sloping hills as a 1, then the Desert could be a 3. So, more or less something between the two would be acceptable as terrain-“flavor.” Anything that doesn’t double or triple the time it takes to go across a map could potentially be alright.

Then there is all the additional PvE-nonsense added in. We shouldn’t even go there but essentially a group of 5 players (or less) could do a meta event just like in PvE and open up all the enemy tower/keep gates and start walking in as they please 5-10 minutes later. Basically WvW players tend to lose money (at least commanders and other dedicated people) buying and placing siege in these locations to fight other large groups. There really is no great income source in WvW. Then here is this meta-event that shoots the gates wide open and those handful of people walk in and break everything and cap the tower before you realize where they are.

WvW players don’t want to run around maps completing meta-events and letting the PvE-content fight the war. They don’t want one-sided buffs (No Fall Damage for instance). They don’t even want to scrap over said meta-event because 2 sides always lose (if it happens at all) and then poof; gimmicks.

They want a level playing field on the map 100% of the time where player skill is the main, sometimes only, factor that determines an even-numbered fight. (Obviously not all fights are closely numbered) You want stealth? Here is your mesmer, engineer, and your thief; not a mini-asuran sandstorm creation even if it is cool. I think a lot f us would agree the ideas are cool, the map looks cool, but it has too much gimmick and too many roadblocks.

How would you go about addressing all the issues you brought up?

To be honest I don’t think there is a perfect answer there. It’s an interesting idea. If you leave it as is, the more time you put into making your gear equivalates to a greater stat advantage rewarding you for that effort, even if it is minor. There are some people, a lot of new people to WvW, that don’t even run full exotics.

Should all players be equalized stat-wise in a game mode where number of players is not? The likely answer is no; that is one factor in how smaller groups with better gear can defeat larger ones. Equal stats = If you have more players you “should” always win (Disregarding Siege and Location)

Now if we put some thought into it, how can we help the new players participate and thereby likely boost participation numbers in WvW following a similar design? That’s the real question buried here.

To keep the solution as simple as possible let’s base it on a single factor: your character pve-level.
If you are below lv.80 you have access to an all Rare-statset(lv.80 items) to equip
If you are lv.80 you have access to an all Exotic-statset(lv.80 items) to equip
If you are lv.80 you can check an option to use PvE gear allowing for ascended stats

Assume the “build setup” is similar to that PvP-build window, but instead of Mist Champions you can select your current PvE gear to run isntead. This would allow new players to use gear veterans need/want/encourage them to use easily, provide a lv.2 (or similar in concept like lv.20) character access to WvW, and also maintain a similar level of gear progression.

Unfortunately Anet can’t even deliver the Legendaries from HoT let alone take on more for a WvW segment. The idea is cool at least, but we need a lot of things fixed first still.

A Legendary WvW-Backpiece may not be asking too much though.

Something else I would like to see.
I would like to see it where you have a set or armor for WvW, that is uniquely different then what you have for PvE. Not sure how they would do this, maybe everyone has “Invader Armor” and they get to pick the first stat (like the generic drop down menu), but later you can change it the same way you can change Ascended, Mix the Armor with a Insigna, and Poof you have new stats. If you mix it with an Ascended Insigna, you can get Ascended Invader Armor.

The only way I can get behind this is if, unlike PvP, they make all stat types available. The only reason I would support it is so that when I have new members join, instead of waiting a month for them to obtain the guild-build’s gear for WvW, they can just select what I need them to run and we go.

The main reason I would not support it is because I always liked that putting time in to obtain ascended gear gave you a competitive edge against newcomers. Also, you would then have have some% of zergs swapping builds on the fly at higher tiers constantly trying to counter each-other.

Perhaps there is a way around those issues, perhaps not. I do see some value in a setup similar to PvP in that it makes it much easier for new players to join in pre-80, but it does cost the hard earned gear treadmill that core WvW players worked on limiting the gap between a good and well-geared player from a decent, but inexperienced, and now equally geared newcomer.

Make sure the next Expansion is more than 40% done when it ships. If it ships like Heart of Thorns it better cost us 40% of what that 1st expansion did.

If there is any reconciling players for their $$$ on HoT, drop the Trading Post “Outfit” people and put them on more Living World content instead. Thereby you keep working on Legendary weapons and make good on at least one more promise. The old “armor sets” on the Trade Post were much more valiable to myself at least because you could mix+match the pieces to existing armor in the game and that provided more diversity.

That WvW team you have needs to save that 3rd of your game. If it comes out rough again just toss WvW out the window cause all the veterans will be gone. Should probably make surveys alongside the WvW content as much as possible to proceed safely and with some self-assurance. Include players from start to finish, don’t throw out a beta and waste your own time trying to make it shiny and new with no time left to change anything major if players dislike something again.

1-Add a small Weekly Reward System for X-amount of Participation
This could easily work off the same system as the old tournaments or you could do something new. Essentially you could have a repeatable weekly achievement system (Like Dungeon Master). Did you capture 5 Keeps this week?~Here’s 5 gold. Did you capture Stonemist 3x this week?~Here’s 5 gold. This is very generic but the time involved in either activity easily warrants a few gold at the end of the week. Especially compared to Fractal farming in a mere hour, PvE event chain maps, and a host of past income sources like dungeons. The rewards for playing WvW in this game have always been meager, even after tournaments compared to all other game-types. This should help bring in more players to the game type and would please some old veterans account $$$ for all it costs to defend locations to expand those small % bonuses the thankless PvE players get for our work.

2-Add in Kill Tally Leaderboards for Guilds on each Server per week
This guild killed 4000 players this week guild2 killed 2480 players this week. It could just be a top 5 per server counting only specific guild-repping players. This would spark more competition at all tiers.

3-Add a Guild Name Change Contract to the Trade Post for like 5000+gems
You’re going to ask why… Well, World vs World guilds occasionally merge together in order to increase group numbers. In the past this meant making a 3rd guild with a new name that both agreed on quite often. Guild Halls complicate that now, but with a contract you could rename the more ‘complete’ guild’s Hall saving hassle and promoting more cooperation on a server again. Not to mention an old guild just wanting to rename itself when 90% of the roster is completely different people.

4-Unique Guild Hall Decoration/Bonus
Make it something cool that you can spend those excess WvW-Skillpoints on. Maybe even add small 5% buffs for just your guild if people put in 5000 rank points. You know, those things we can’t do anything with after maxing the WvW skill tree.

5-Remove the large amount of PvE gimmicks around each map
Oh that guy rallied off a lizard, great… If it isn’t event based (I don’t love those either), then just make it a white creature.

I’m sure several people have noticed (those working on their halls and supporting their guilds anyway) that there is an abundance of household items in the game. This includes a few kinds of wall as well.

The only issue with building a personal home/community in your guild hall is the massive cost on a handful of players of course, and the simple fact that there is no actual roofing. Sure you can use snow piles and a few other odd objects that stand out like a sore-thumb in a golden cave or desert cliff. A door-like opening in a wall would be great too if there isn’t one. See arches, may have missed it but not seeing one at the moment.

Even with the tedious placement options when decorating people could still find ways to stack the pieces where they needed to. Why not put a roof segment or two in? Need a measurement? 1×1wall segment or 2×1 segment should be good enough for the breadth of the roof’s base. Anything from thatch, vines, twigs, stone, gilded stone, and adobe would be fine. And there you have it, an actual complete house just by adding a dedicated roof. I think a lot of us just wish 5% of a guilds roster wouldn’t be paying for ALL the homes in that guild hall lol, but it could be a thing.

If it were easier to make these types of objects in the game, GW2 could technically say it has personal housing. Still can, but very few guilds overall are large enough to support this as most players don’t pitch in their fair share and leech. Hey, I found a new marketing tool inside Guild Halls, what do ya know.

But while we’re at it, if your guild is large enough, and your chosen enslaved scribe has enough decorations for you; go find a flat spot and build yourself a hut to post here.

Toggling them on/off might not be bad for some Sapphires and Emeralds out there feeling on the low spectrum in PvP. But hey, the way I look at it even if they’re not great they tried. A lot of folks don’t even do that, wear that emerald with pride lol.
Just gonna disregard amber, since you just have to play to get through it, it’s more like an intro than a tier this season.

Not sure why so many folks are complaining about every other match being a blow-out. About 70% of my games were within the 150-200pt range or less. Which to me seems almost no different than a few years ago anyway. There’s always going to be a middle-ground in skill-level in competitive gameplay. Here, that is Ruby. In League that is Platinum, and there are many other games with that similarity across several genre.

If you’re playing a DPS/Damage based character (Which let’s be honest the majority of us are) you should be consistently aiming to do a few things:
1: Dealing around 400k+ Condition Damage per game
or
1: Dealing around 600k+ Raw Damage per game
2: Minimum kills should likely be 8+ on either set (My record is 27 currently)

3: If you are not meeting those thresholds consistently you need to contribute to the team in other ways (Heal People/Stomp/Back-cap points)

If you’re not able to do at least 1 of these things even in a difficult game, you’re just as much at fault as your teammates are for the loss. Not Georgette the bad elementalist, not that Revenants grandmother, and not the system. Take responsibility for your gameplay, learn multiple classes or at least know multiple builds for your class that you can swap on the fly. 2 Engineers + Elemental on the enemy team? = Good luck getting great condition damage out this game if they’re remotely competent.

The system was changed. You’re “last season” complaints aren’t very useful when the game had a lot of players carried into diamond that couldn’t hold their own, and then truly some of the better folks trapped in the real Ruby-heck that due to 50% win/loss in Season1 when it paired you against equal skilled players residing in any tier.

I lost my record kills game (Yes it is an unranked – irrelevant to this point). That goes to show you no matter how hard someone is grinding your face into the dirt you can still win. But you won’t win wasting 5-seconds every time you respawn or are running somewhere to yell at your teammates or complain. You’re not focused on the match, and you’re not pro-actively accomplishing much of anything at that point (Not counting strategic things like “Hey let’s hold these two points”). We all know what I mean, especially if you’re in “ruby”-hell as you note. You’re going to have bad teams, and if not you’re certainly gonna have a good player that has a bad game; and you need to carry them or pick them up so they play until the end. Not type useless things in the spawn (Rubies are becoming notorious for this ragequit nonsense “I can’t win, it’s _____’s fault”)

There are minor faults in every competitive system. But if you can’t roll off-meta builds to counter a teams composition and still be successful, then you probably belong where you are.

Currently the system resets the symbol beside your name in game when new seasons begin. This I’m sure was to provide incentive for players to return and play again the next season and keep people coming back. It also however abruptly devalues a player’s work in a prior season.

Maybe someone didn’t get time to play for a few months that was a Diamond, play a few games and stop in Emerald for this reason a few seasons down the line. Now that decent player is considered “scrub-tier” for all intents and purposes and his/her badge does not reflect skill level or past efforts; just their availability to play in a particular season.

I have what I think is a simple solution:
1-Instead of resetting the badge per-season; leave the highest attained badge visible in PvE/Lobbies.
2-Inside matches display their current season’s badge symbol (Like on the end game results currently)
3-On top of this place a simple numeric value in the bottom right corner of each badge in PvE and maybe even in the PvP games that designates how many seasons a player obtained that particular skill-tier in PvP.[/list]

The numeric value should incentivise the hardcore players to keep returning instead of just quiting after 1 season and keeping whatever badge it was. It should also alleviate the stress of grinding thru PvP every single season just to get the same reward again, or less if you’ve finished the The Ascension.

I’ve made Legendary this season, can probably do so again. I’m guessing my win rate was around 85%+. Could I do it again next season? Most likely, but I’m finishing up the Ascension already so why obtain the exact same badge by my name? At least we’ll know the truly dedicated PvP’rs that rise to the top every season this way.

As a former Guardian roamer that only had a staff to swap to for swiftness, I feel your pain on this.

I’ve wondered for a long time if standing still to stack the swiftness actually cancelled out the increased distance you span in X amount of time lol. It probably does not, but it still eats up a fair amount of that stacked speed waiting.

Talking about Guardians reminded me of Hallowed Ground which is 900 range and serves a very similar purpose to the revenant’s road. It is a fire field of course, not lightning, but at the end of the day neither one is really meant for damage. Both are stability fields we would stand inside, each has their own flavor and balance to the class they’re wielded by, but dang-it Hallowed Ground won’t land behind you if you don’t force it to lol…

Not a bug, You have 10 upkeep to spend. Facet of Nature takes -2 and Impossible Odds takes -10. adding those together makes for -12 total. You do not have enough upkeep to spend.

Ah ok got it. Thanks, I’d heard something about 10-upkeep before but didn’t realize you could not exceed it if you still had energy.

So this skill which I’ll just call a road from here on out to be short is one of my favorite in the game now, but what it makes up for in its cool animation and potential – it lacks in actual execution during gameplay. Perhaps this is just from a WvW or GvG standpoint, but I can’t help but notice: If you are running forward this skill lands behind you. How is stability going to help you charging into a battle if it can’t even keep up with your stride?

I believe this skill’s actual length is 600, which is equal to its range if I am correct. It sounds fine, but with the falling stone animation you’re always 1-step ahead of it. So you can clearly see, you either stop moving for it to land on you, or you turn around into it.

I found myself using the road quite literally – sideways a lot during engagements mostly for my guild’s backline (Light Armors/Damage Players)to run up and stand on for the stability as I would almost always be past where it would land.

My proposed solution would not be to change the skill itself. I think it is fine both in size, type of field, and even stability. But I believe making the cast range up to 900 would place a proper X<300 gap between the player character and the start of the field itself when running forward. Which should allow the player placing it to actually run through the field.

And one “possible” bug I noticed: The dragon legends facet F2 [Facet of Nature] when active (not popped for the boons) worked with all energy draining skills like [Vengeful Hammers]. But the saturday of the last beta at least it would not allow you to activate [Impossible Odds] from Shiro, graying it out.

So far I like the class more than Warrior or Guardian as both have always seemed to be too extreme one way or another for me, but I do enjoy both. This hits a happy medium I think so far in its versatility.
