Soldiers amulet 10 air 30 water 30 arcane (standard staff “bunker ele” build) your meteors tick for 1k, your fire #2 aoe ticks for 800, fire auto attack roughly 700 and earth #2 3k total damage. That’s not that bad considering you’re tough to kill.

If you’re fighting people outside of a point, then don’t. Fight on a point so people have to stand in your aoe :P But we all know that….right….

as i said, the dps is awfull

why would anyone want to play an ele bunker build…… you are unable to kill anything. i dont get it why ppl tend to play bunker builds.

Nothing for me…. as glass canon eles arent really capable.

You die in seconds without even beeing able to do the dmg.

besides. d/d is rather meele range. this especially makes it a lot harder as a glass canon.

this issue seems to appear only when thieves stomp……

You should read my post before opening your mouth kitten I said every class has an easy build to play including ele necro or engineer. I never said the classes in general are easy to play, but certain builds are. For thieves that is PW, for rangers its shortbow, for warriors its GS, for engineers I believe its rifles, For mesmers its GS, for necros… No idea, I dont play a necro, for ele I think double dag. this post actually proves my previouse post. you shot yourself in your leg by saying you have no idea about necro. but on the otherhand state that every class has an easy build which is simply bulls hit. you may be right that thief, warrior, ranger, engineer, mesmer have easy builds. However necros and eles do NOT.

Any1 saying thieves are the easiest class in the game is an idiot plain and simple, every class has an easy build to play that excells, look at warriors 100b, look at rangers * possibly the worst class in the game* with shortbow crossfire, ect…

I wanted to chime in and say be careful when buffing Ele’s main hand dagger, dagger/dagger is a very solid skill set in the right hands right now. But Scepter main hand, not so much…

Funny… I rock in spvp with my Ele achieving a lot more than what the op mentioned have done with the Mesmer. I have a lvl 28 Mesmer as my 3rd alt and they are a lot of fun but my 4 pvp matches as playing a mesmer….really sucked lol.

tbh it is kinda weird u sucked at mesmers spvp as its really hard to suck at it….

anyways, i find myself beeing better at spvp with ele as well. but this is only cuz ive played the class a lot and know exactly what to do in which situation. even tho im not doing bad at spvp the class could still take a buff. its what has been said often times enoug:

skilled elementalists are not really rewarded for the amount of effort they have to put into fights.

without wanting to be mean to anybody.

but srsly, this movie shows exactly how little skill thiefs need to do well in pvp. he even manages with clicking and keyboardturning.

I disagree. the fire combo can be executed with the knockdown of airs’ #5. signet of earth is a waste of an utility slot. escpecially when its so easy to counter.

as to the OP:

im running a build with 14k hp and its quite hard to kill me cuz of high thoughness.

toughness>hit point.

The explanation is easy: i probably survive as long as you do with 20k hp. anyhow my heals are way more effective due to less hp.

tbh ive only been playing sPvP with scepter/dagger which i do quite well in.

yesterday however o started to lvl-up again, testing the staff. I found myself in tough situations when attacking 3 mobs at a time. the awfull casting times of the staff kinda put me down on using it. I guess ill have to figure it out….

Tell me, how do you guys kite with a staff without decent chill effects?

Are you focusing on PVE or PVP?

I use scepter/dagger for the fire burst combined with arcane blast/wave. I highly recommend dagger in offhand to get that ride the lightning on #4.

Otherwhise try dagger/dagger its a rather closecombat type of wpnbuild.

dont you know that we have been using keyboard to walk and use the mouse to click hot keys since before you was eating solid foods?
An entire generation of daoc and UO players mastered pvp just fine without your non pro looking circle straifing and mashing 123123 with your left hands.
besides all that circle straife to keep your target in front of you just looks absolutly STUPID for entertainment purposes wit the cam spinning .

You do know that in early times of MMORPGs PvP was far easier to master right?

Yea I figured the “do not click spells” thing would come up. Should’ve mentioned that I can’t adapt to hotkeys. After 10+ years of playing mmos, I’m stuck on clicks. Just my preferred style, despite it being worse, thanks though.

its pure basics: If you click spells you will not be able to keep up with the speed of GW2 PVP which is indeed a rather fast PVP playstyle. Anyhow, since you cant keep up with the pace you will not be able to use your skills/abilitys at the right time and at the right place.

you wont be able to improove with clicking and keyboardturning.

you have 2 options:
-start learning not to click and keyboardturn or
-dont learn using hotkeys, stay as comfortable as you are now and fail miserably at GW2 PVP

no offense really. Im just trying to open your eyes a little.

do NOT, i repeat do NOT click your spells and do NOT turn directions with your keyobard.

Use Hotkeys only and your play will increase 100%.

try doing that first. then work on mechanics.

I think the time has come, me and my team just stomp the living out of 90% of the teams we meet, we need a ranking system, we need something. The more time you waste, the faster we get bored of farming people on free tournaments.

I’m dead serious this is a warning, the longer you take the faster the top teams get bored and start to lose hope on gw2 as a renown esport.

Not every person playing GW2 has the time to play this game like you do. its not even been a month since release and you guys are already getting bored? if your “dead seriouse warning” is true, why not take the easy way out and do smth different (including RL) than “stomping 90% of the teams”.

after seeing your gameplay i cant really take your “elementalist is fine l2p” trolls srsly…

so ive been playing ele since release. mostly doing sPvP.

anyways, last night i tested messmer with an ordinary Greatsword/1h sword pistol build.

its quite funny to see all these big numbers without even having to think. my jaw dropped the first 10 mins. of playing. its about double the damage and a ton more of survivability.

for guys who havent tried it, try it and youll be amazed.

besides, how is it that elementalist is the only profession that cannot decline beeing killed in downed mode? every other proff. has at least 1 skill to delay the finishing move. (and im not talking about the one which cant be used right after going down due to cd)
