Whenever I’m on my Guardian in WvW I always make sure I’m running my immunity to shouts. It’s very important if you want to be immune to shouts. This ensures that shouts are nullified. Best trait in the game.

Maximizing your toughness in this manner is unwise. When you begin climbing above 3000 or so you begin to experience diminishing returns for this stat. Defense in this game is optimized through one’s ability to mitigate damage through careful dodging, blocks, invulnerability, stealth, evades, and boons. I can guarantee if you attempt this on warrior especially you will become insanely frustrated.

Because thieves have a very limited role in conquest. They can distract by going far and maybe gank in an ongoing 1v1 scenario, but otherwise they die when they get sneezed on.
