The drake family of pets no longer use there non-bite skills in melee combat. Tailswipe is only used at greater than 120 range (out of melee) and Chomp is never used. This applies to all drakes.
This cripples their DPS and utility as they no longer self-heal nor heavy AoE damage with a blast in combat.
Just as a heads up, you need to log into the character that turned 4. Fourth birthday is not account wide, it’s character based, so if you don’t play the main you made back 4 years ago anymore, you won’t get your present until you log in.
I would aim for a RX 470 or a reference RX 480 at $200. The 470 should be ~$180-ish, the performance delta is fairly small.
No. They should not be male models, they should instead have their own racial female models. This is legendary armor we’re talking about, not just an armor skin. This is the most prestigious armor, female asura and charr should be worthy of their own modified models.
Ranger shortbow is still a huge disappointment. I know you want it fixed too Gaile, the dreamer needs it! I don’t suppose you’ve remembered to try out the t-shirt idea…
But Ranger shortbow needs a revamp.

Thief buffs are a little much, seems to be pushing for them to join in on raids, but only spamming auto attack isn’t the way to get that.
Same for Companion’s Might, except it works on the Tiger. I guess they didn’t code something that flags the new pets as… pets.
This is wrong. Companion might works on both the smokescale, and the bristleback. Just tested it in PvE.
As for wilting strike, I can confirm it doesn’t work with any of the HOT pets. Smokescale, tiger, bristleback, Lightning Wyvern and Fire Wyvern. None of them apply weakness.

How would you cause this to happen? Would you have to tame it shiny, or just swap pets back and forth until it resets when you map change?
Seems like a bad idea.
I also dislike the idea of a shiny pet, so that’s my 2 cents.
They’ve stated that allowing revs to have racial skills ruins the idea behind the rev, and allows players to make very bad skill choices, something they wanted to avoid. I would assume the mistfire wolf falls into that category.
The new pets have wonky stats.
The bristleback has 50k HP, but only 2000 vitality. Out of line with every other pet. It also has the same condition damage as devourers, yet it’s bleed does more damage per tick for the same stacks.
The Smokescale has similar stats to a bear, but it does a bucketload more damage than a bear. Not sure if just abilities, but it’s pretty strong compared to bears for toughness/vitality. Slightly less vitality.
Glyph of Rejuvination has no pet component, it does not heal your pet for a large amount. It files your pet under “allies healed” which is very minor, and it prefers players over your pet so no pet heal if you’re in a group.
Staff laserbeam prefers to damage over heal. Probably better this way, but it should prioritize whatever is closer to the druid IMO. Or the target, one or the other is better than just preferring three damage targets over two and a heal etc. No control currently.
The new pets don’t “die.” They simply stop attacking and regen health at your heels. They don’t get a downed-state bar of a huge health pool like other pets. Not a huge flaw, likely an oversight. Just means they come back from dead in combat about twice as fast as otherwise (~2 minutes instead of ~5)
stuck as in, after you alt – f4 to close gw2, and you log in, you still get stuck ?
Yes. We are auto-placed back into the pvp match we were in.
Yes. They should add a separate queue for it so those who want to play deathmatch can.
And I can not play it ever again. Along with everyone else who prefers it not be in their queues.
Children under the age of 13 aren’t allowed to register accounts for anything within the united states. The parent has to register for them. I would assume the clause in the ToS is simply rephrasing that rule.
ie. If you (a parent) register the account for someone under the age of 13, that’s fine. But you take full responsibility as the account owner.
Stuck as well. Dancing in clocktower.
Character swap, logging out, leaving the map, nothing works. We cannot leave an SPVP match. Game ended ~10 minutes ago, we cannot leave.
Please fix.

I’m getting similar FPS, but I’m getting terrible frame latencies.
AMD 1090t @ 3.61ghz
AMD 7950 Boost @ 1115mhz/1400mhz + 20% power limit (no dips)
16gb ram
I play capped at 30 fps, and I’m generally 27-30 fps roaming old world, and in Verdent brink. However it FEELS like 5 FPS in Verdent brink. Changing settings doesn’t help. Occasionally fixes after a fair bit of play time, then happens again if I map load. Doesn’t really dip in verdent brink fights either, sometimes down to 20.
Really, it’s just weird because it’s the only place I get frame latency issues.
Works for me, my WvW is different from my PvE and from my PvP. Didn’t actually know they implemented this and was all confused when I entered WvW and didn’t have my traits set-up like I wanted them to till in the middle of a fight XD
What class are you? My ranger was not experiencing trait and skill saving between the two.
Edit: Necromancer doesn’t have skill lock either. Upon first entering, the necromancer had the same skills with different traits. After editing traits and skills, the traits changed back to PvE, but the skills remained WvW skills. My ranger is repeatably not keeping either traits nor skills from pvp upon leaving WvW.
(edited by XDeadzX.2581)
PvE and WvW builds are still shared, unlike what the changelog says.
You may select different specialization lines and associated traits in PvE, WvW, and PvP.
is what I’m referring to. Doesn’t seem to be working. I’m not the only one, am I? Would have loved to see this feature ingame, I really don’t like changing out my dungeon build when I toy around in WvW.
Anyhow, bug report.
I disagree with this suggestion. It would add TONS of clutter to an already cluttered interface. Letting us preview onto our hero panel would be a better suggestion, as we already have the wardrobe at the bank.
You have every weapon skin, every item skin, and every back piece skin then. In your hero window, the same thing you use for on-the-fly changes. That is a LOT of information to have for a new player, or even an old player. Like 5000+ options in a single small window. That’s not a good idea.
Using the bank, with all it’s larger interface and it’s better ability to be sorted, I think we should preview into the hero window. Just not have the options in the hero window themselves. Otherwise we’re dealing with too much kitten.
It’s different than minis or dyes, because there simply isn’t thousands of them. Minis are stored by what they are, and there is only 120 of them (give or take) total. Dyes are a similar story, with only a couple more than minis, each with tiny icons unlike weapons or armor.
Listing them all just doesn’t work, in addition to it constantly being a taunt that you don’t have every last weapon skin.
Going by that logic so should basically every single Basic collection.
I don’t really think we can base the “rareness” of an collection around a supply and demand economy.
Is that so? The Grawl weapons specialist costs ~10g. That seems “basic.” There is a trash collector, which is collecting trash. That’s fairly “basic.”
750g does not seem “basic.”
i imagine that, similar to revenants filling in the ‘missing gap’ for soldier professions that great-axes may be added in the next expansion for professions. the problem is, who will be using it apart from warrior?
Rangers, maybe guardians, and necromancers. Reverants, and warriors as you said.
That’s 5 professions, which is more than rifles, longbows, or shortbows have. I’d say that sounds fine.
Heh. No one mentioned the spooky ghost. Jeeze that thing is annoying. “WOOOOOOOwooooo!” every other second.
I agree with this, but I’d rather it be an option for the player rather than in the sound options.
The new UI panel looks ugly and behaves worse than it looks. The order of items on the summary page is backwards, because information you’d need more than once a day is hidden behind a scroll. This is just bad UI design, and something that shouldn’t have gotten past QA.
My suggestion is a very minor one. Move the daily rewards UI BELOW the other information. It’s a large UI with very little useful information, where as players use recent achievements and “nearly completed” achievements more often. This would put the daily reward behind a scroll, which is accessed far less often. A minor change for a fairly large impact in useability.
I ended up making this outfit for my warrior.
Completely mixed set, I think he looks BAMFy.
I’m fairly certain I’m not crazy. The pet order changed, did it not? Not it seems entirely random, where as it was sorted roughly by type before. At least a few different things were sorted by type, such as spiders and moas. Now they are everywhere. What’s changed, and why?
Having played since early beta, this seems like an entirely useless change, because it’s not even sorted alphabetically now either.
I don’t want to/them to have to farm WvW just to get my levels to do story mode. Grinding for quest text is exactly why a large majority don’t like other MMOs.
But it’s exactly what GW2 already does. If you finish, for example, a lv7 story instance, and your next instance is lv10, you have to farm 3 levels in the current system.
The only difference between the old and the new systems, is that plot arcs will now be grouped together, so the personal story should go smoother within each arc.
Well true, it’s also not exactly true either. I can currently jump into a level 10 instance with my level 7, and complete the story. Or if I really want to experience it, I can recruit a friend to help out as well. With the new system, I can’t simply continue on with my story whenever I feel like it. I’m not only locked out from starting a level 10 instance at 7, but every bit of the story before level 10 is also locked out — I haven’t even done levels 1-7. Much less completing it for the story by having a friend pull me through.
Level locking story elements? Might as well just go play another MMO. GW2 is becoming less and less unique the more they “improve.”
I understand adding replayability to personal story, that’s a great add. But limiting the story to when you can complete blocks of it at a time? No thanks. All of my characters have been doing the story as I please, having them level locked would ruin that for new players as well, something I find both my recently recruited friends doing. I don’t want to/them to have to farm WvW just to get my levels to do story mode. Grinding for quest text is exactly why a large majority don’t like other MMOs.
One is by default account bound, the other account bound on aquire. Not sure why the difference, they both account bound it.
Whats the point then?
You wouldnt be able to wear other racial armor, you wouldnt be able to use other race skills.
A lot of players simply want it because of how each race looks. Not skills/story/amor.
With my new character I have gotten them to lvl 10 made it out of the tutorial area have done a few things on everything.
hopefully not in that order?
it would take far too long to get to level 10 in the tutorial area
didn’t someone get to level 40 or so in there? I know there was this WoW character that got to max level in their tutorial area. the youtube video of his last level is hilarious (~a hundred people following him)
People have gotten to 80 in the tutorial zones on GW2. Human, Charr, Sylvari, and I believe an asura. No Norns yet AFAIK.
@OP I believe it’s 7 days wait for a lot of things, and 30 days for a few others.
+1
I’d love a feature like this. I’ve bought minipets to show off my veteran-y-ness, but I never actually use them due to how frequently I switch maps. If I had a slot to auto-show them, I’d be inclined to buy more.
I find that in order to actually get any loot, you need to simply mash your f key until something happens whenever anyone hits the 10% HP mark. It’s really hard on my keyboard
I give a +1 to this idea. We are supposed to have a personal connection to our pets, but we aren’t allowed to have one without a large amount of work put into naming them each time.
Skritt really doesn’t work, because the more skritt working together, the smarter they get. Players don’t work that way, as the more you get the stupider the group.
It just breaks lore, even if they are cute.
That is not a ranger.
Why is it in the ranger section?
Seriously!? You’re complaining about a weird claw boob thing? If you want digitalkitten so bad play a med armor human female and get the underboob armor. I’m sick of people complaining about there being too few revealing female armors. There are plenty while the males have significantly less options.
To me it’s nothing about being revealing, but rather the art style of the armor. It doesn’t feel as “raw” as it used to. I don’t/won’t be playing a female warrior/guardian any time soon for it, but other players are.
I think we should have the ability to move around skills for our pet bar, so each person can have what they want. I personally want callback on f1, attack on f3 and special on f2, but I don’t want to rebind my other classes to f3.
Butter does grease things up a bit, it may be just slipping outta hands and into our bags.
While I disagree that we should have skimpy heavy armor (because it doesn’t make sense)…
I think that the art style is slightly… Ruined by the additions of hiding things. Like it was said, it looks less savage or in my own words raw and powerful.
Or really, let us set a time for it to reset.
Make it a week’s wait between changes or whatever, or make it so if you changed it you still have to wait until the original time to pass before it resets (meaning it will always take 24 hours or more to reset) to eliminate abuse.
^ This. Manual choice = please everyone. While it will cause a slight little increase in server load, it’s really nothing that can’t be managed by a single database.
One thing regarding story I’d be okay with, would be simply reverting the entire story to that of a level 1 of that race, starting you over from the start of the story. Also removing any storyline behind the other race that you were before, effectively making you a “new” character story line wise which should also iron out bugs between it.
You’d better let them know that, at the bottom of the page you see © 2011 ArenaNet, Inc. Term of use
That refers to the map itself, as it’s Anets map and graphics, not their website. If you look at that link, it’s linking back to the ToU for the map on Anets site.

Provider IP swap causes game to lose connection /disable?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: XDeadzX.2581
They aren’t supposed to reset your IP during active use. If they do, any current connections would disable, because they now think you’re someone new. There really wouldn’t be a way to prevent this.
