Bump…………………………….
I have to much agree that this skill is underwhelming to say the least. I read the description and it reads “Transform: Take the form of a massive juggernaut” I tried the skill for the first time after reading that and thought " oh wow, I wonder what kinda cool thing I’m gonna turn into?" I hit the button and… my fists sparked a bit… That is easily the most misleading and disappointing skill description I’ve ever read.
Please take the time to actually bring this skill up to what it should be in function and appearance.(my suggestion would be to make the character grow to at least twice the size and take on the appearance of a branded charr)
The main issue I have with that is that I want to play a ranger and stay at range through the entire fight but I’m semi-forced into using a melee weapon in my secondary weapon slot as the longbow is slow and just not very good imo.
Problem with the tokens being added to collectables is that they could not be seen from anywhere, only when you go to your bank or crafting table.
Solution would be to make a separate tab on the character screen listing all the different in-game currencies. This would also solve any complaints about sorting/organizing all the new currencies coming into the game.
Also Rangers should have the use of all ranged weapons, not just bows. I’m a ranger and I can’t use a pistol or rifle but by Jove I can use a greatsword >,>

Bump!…………………………………………
please tell me I’m not the only one that’s noticed this..
Could people stop please writing such nonsense about mounts ? lol seriously..
What in the name of god would be the god **** sense of having mounts at all, when you wouldn’t be faster with them, than just normally running or at least same as fast like “magical” perma sprinting, which is also up to 33% faster than normal running.
What’s the sense in good looking armor, should just be done with that and have everyone look the same cuz stuff that sets you apart from other people and improves the prestige and overall look of your character is pointless >,>
I have found the information provided by mousing over things on the map has been mostly minimal. For instance mousing over player dots on the map often gives no information at all, so you know it’s a player and that’s about it. And in WvW I mouseover the bases and get no information at all, not who the base is owned by or anything, even the bases my guild specifically owns that I captured do not say if they are owned, who took them, or anything.
Also I would like the ability to filter what shows up on the map, like in pve map I want to see only heart quests or only poi’s or only skill points, it would just make world completion so much easier and seamless.
Ya, a lot of crud loots from the black lion chests, would be nice if all of them were at least garaunteed to get you something decent, the last one I opened had about 3s worth of anything, which isnt the most horrid thing but for people that actually buy the keys with the gems, that would suck.
the markets being global makes sense. why would segregating them make any sense except for your “1 minute too long” load time.
stop standing in LA and playing the trading post all day long and do some gaming instead.
I use the market on a regular basis to sell items, if I was one of those types that played the market all day then I would not have a complaint about money. Please think (preferably before not after) posting on message boards. And “1 minute too long” does make a difference when I post several times in a play session just to empty my inventory(as I cannot afford all 18-20 slot bags). When I am in a combat area and I want to post items quickly, one minute is far too long.
While the Tengu may not be a wanted playable race in future for many (not for me, I like them) it’ll make sense that they’ll be that. Their homeland, Dominion of Winds, isn’t accessable atm but might (and should) be in the future so why not add the Tengu as a playable race while at it?
New area, new major city, new race, all lore-friendly.
The easiest way may not always be the most fun way, it’s predictable and boring, and I for one would hope that Anet could compile something better than this.
Sorry but wouldn’t segregating the markets cause sudden drop in supply causing the cost of popular and rare items to skyrocket?
The truely “rare” items like legendary weps are already beyond affordability for most people. Raising the economy would cause 2 things to happen, people could sell stuff for more, people could buy stuff for more. It doesn’t make a huge difference cost wise of things on the market but it would speed up the market window for people as well it would enable people to make more from their sales so that some of the higher cost vendor stuff would become more affordable.
“sadly lacking new races”
I think five races with two gender choices is more than enough, especially with all the customization and lore behind them. Besides, why would any of the pact ally with a draconian race, when we are specifically at war with them? Cross faction isn’t really an option either, as it’s clearly not going to be in the game model.
If there was a new race to be added by chance, I would personally vouch for Tengu. They appear to have some interesting story behind them that I have yet to see or hear, especially including their closed off homeland that they let nobody enter.
ugh, I do not understand what people like about Tengu, it’s just norn in bird form, VERY unimaginative if making a “new” race. As for lore, new lore can be added, it doesn’t all have to be cemented into GW1 lore. Perhaps the humanoid draconian race were the unknown/unwilling servants of Ziatan and they join with the pact in secret to make a stand. At least something like that, being a huge stretch from the original story or not would be a twist and throw something new into the game that would captivate the imagination and not bore as simply copy/pastaing an already existing ingame(and partially playable)race would.
Great weapon for Guardians and the Shadow Knight. Both Crusaders so it makes sense for the crusaders to have religious execution 2hander axes.
shadow knight??!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? a confirmed new class!!!!???? I hope so!!!!!!! we need new melee classes
That would be cool but imo this game is sadly lacking new races more than classes, only 5 races, give us a lizard/draconian race, perhaps some long lost descendants of Ziatan or something(I don’t know enough about GW lore to go deeper than that but Anet could think of something that’d fit better)
This happens to me all the time. The most annoying part of the marketplace, is how it first shows you the last page you visited (often the page you want to visit again), but then it starts loading the front page of the gemstore. GRRRR! Just leave me on the previous page already!
And I really don’t get this at all. 80% of the people that open the marketplace, are not interested in viewing the gem store. Most of them are looking to sell some of their equipment, buy things, or look up an item. So what would the most logical starting page of the marketplace be?
True that.
bump…………………………………..
The development team is sent feedback and suggestion reports from the Community team 5 days a week (sorry – even we need a little time off, haha). They are extremely busy working on the game, but come and answer posts when they can.
I don’t understand the logic behind this, is there only one person developing the game? People don’t need to work 7 day shifts to cover the week, you just need more then 1 person working and it’s possible. Simply stagger the shifts, John and Tina work Monday through Friday Frank and Sue work Wednesday through Sunday, problem solved.
I don’t have the time to read every post but I somewhat agree with the OP, MF is a selfish stat that gimps your toon by taking away from useful stats, it should only be added on armor/weps/jewels on top of the useful stats, not instead of them.
And to the people sick and tired of repeat threads, well, yell at Anet about it, not the players, if there are repeat threads then it is obviously a bigger issue, once Anet deals with the issue then the threads can all be wiped out never to bother anyone again.
I will tell you this the marketplace is game server wide sooooooo there like about 20ish server with a hand in this one marketplace. Which i think is pretty dumb Because you cant tell if a server is better for you or not. Your action in marketplace does not matter when one sec you post 1000 ore into it for say 1 silver. The very next sec the guy on the other server post 1000 ore for 99 copper….. so on so on so on. This hurts every one trying to gain something or craft something. Honestly it should be different market for each server since they are different world (server) and that we are trying to Out PVP them (WvWvW)
So everytime you post in a marketplace you are pretty much giving your enemies resources to fight back and when you buy their item you are pretty much investing your enemy to beat you to the ground even more.
Which is why i never use market place again because i am ultimately helping my enemy.
If this is true then I agree 100%, the market should only be per server. Having one market for all servers not only slows it down but also keeps the econemy in a horrid state in which you can’t make any more for selling a level 80 item than you can for selling a lvl 10 item.
Also on a side note, vendor cost for items should be balanced out a bit, lvl 80 items should sell for 10s, not 1s, then items that are lvl 10-15 sell for that much. And yet vendors insist on selling threads and books and weapons/armor for exponentially more dependent on level.

My friend also has this issue, not sure if it’s extremely common or not but the marketplace loads slower than any marketplace of an mmo-rpg that I’ve played thus far(and I’ve played several)
I don’t mean to insult the posters but have the last 2 posters played GW2? lol. I mean berserkers and shadowknights are not classes in GW2. But with that aside I agree, my guardian would love him a 2 handed axe!
Mounts are stupid for this game
I disagree and everyone said that about flying mounts in everquest2, but as soon as they come out with flying mounts everyone loved them.
Many classes can already get permanent speed buffs for 25% speed or so, so as long as mount speed is kept around that, then I do not see any issue really.
I was having so much fun with this game, getting my guard and ele to 80 that I’d completely overlooked it myself but it occurred to me recently that this game lacks a 2 handed axe weapon, this is easily one of my fav weapon types from other mmorpg’s and I’m not sure if there’s plans to implement it later on but I hope so!
The dev team already kitten this game’s lore and basically everything it had built up in GW1. No, 2 handed swords were acceptable at some point, but now the axes… no.
They should make spears a land-weapon again, like they did in GW1 as the paragon calss’ main weapon.
You’re going to have to try again with that. Tbh, with the blocked out swear and all-around bad grammar I am unsure as to if you’re agreeing with my thread or disagreeing >,>

Every time I access the marketplace for the first time upon logging in it takes at least 30 seconds to load the thing. And sometimes even after I’ve loaded it once it still takes it’s sweet time, I find this annoying and at times has even steered me away from using it(I’ll just vendor the lot of my stuff over taking the wait as it can even extend to over a minute in some cases).
I agree with this suggestion, the camera distance feels very limited in this game, as well a first person mode would be nice in some situations.
Well, I’ll start by saying that ele may not be the place to be for dps atm but I can see thieves getting knocked right off the dps pedestal with the nerf hammer any time now(not that it’s what I want but a lot of people are whining about that class)
I think I will look to change my strategy a bit though by going with a mix of stats instead of maxing anything in particular, zerker jewels and toughness/vit/pow armor
Lol, ya I’m not dense. I know the difference, I want the most possible dmg in any situation, If a dps parser is made for this game I want to be at the top of it.
Hmm, well i’m far from rich in this game and I do have my share of difficulties getting my gold up there, so I was mostly looking at what would be best dmg for my first set, I’m aiming for what I think people call “glass canon” maximum dmg die instantly, lol, seems stupid I know but I suppose I’m still a little stuck to the “trinity” mindset that the dps should not be tanking(especially mages)
Oh and I actually made this particular thread because I really don’t want to make a mistake when buying my first ascended jewelry, cuz there’s no refund on laurels.
Ps: a mod may feel free to move this to the ele forum if they find that appropriate.
(edited by Xephier.1647)
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section but this seemed like the right one, just need to know if pow/prec/crit dmg% or pow/prec/cond dmg is best for dmg on ele.
I usually use daggers or staff on my ele.
I would just like to know from the more experienced elementalist players out there as to which statset will put out the most dps.
I was looking into either Pow/prec/crit dmg% or pow/prec/cond dmg. while the statset with the condition dmg would boast a little more dmg in the earth attunement and some of the burning effects from the fire attunement , and the precision being the main stat in that statset would allow for the highest crit chance(I am unsure of the magnitude that crit chance has in this game on the end result to one’s dps, in everquest2 it was huge) the power being the main stat on the first statset would boast the most base dmg as well as higher crit dmg from the extra crit dmg on that set.
For those wondering, I personally use all attunements, I like to use them all within a fight unless it’s a short fight, they all have their bonuses and it allows me 0 wait time between cooldowns.
I hope the reason they closed it was because they already have plans to add the option and so there’s no need to keep the discussion.
Hey Mithran! If this was the case then a little bit of feedback or information from ArenaNet would be nice! You know, show your customers a little bit of courtesy and respect.
Right now it seems that when you get a job as a moderator on these forums you are also issued a pair of jack-boots. Thread closures with no explanation and threads querying closures deleted with a ‘moderators must not be questioned’ warning. From my personal perspective I know how this will end and I won’t be playing this game any more I can assure you.
Sadly this is the way of most forums these days, gaming forums or otherwise, forum mods become in a sense power freaks and also tend to close a lot of repeat threads instead of answering the obviously growing problems. Imho no threads involving a specific issue should be closed unless said issue has been resolved or for some reason is no longer an issue.(or an unpopular issue that few people care about).
Think he means a dedicated healer class, not a dps class with some minor healing capabilitys on the side.
I don’t find it game breaking but it can be annoying when trying to use a trebuche or mortar or something of the like, I find myself getting off the thing instead of fireing it.
I find the autotargeting issues to be more game breaking as I often die because the autotargeting system isn’t working as it should.
Emote to jump up in a cheer and freeze in mid air, like at the end of some cheezy 80’s movie, lol. Or some new dance moves, like break dancing or the dance from the thriller music video.
On a side note, on the dropdown menu for the chat window, add emotes to that please, many games do have that and it’d be nice to see here.
Neat idea in theory but will never work, too radical and would likely take too much to implement, though I agree, playable children would be a nice addition. The true way to overcome people not wanting to see children die is to make a race that’s 100’s of years old(like the elves of lore) but child-like only in appearance. As for the healer thing, while I strongly agree that a healer class is needed, unfortunately it would feed back into the “trinity” of healer/tank/dps that this game is trying to steer away from in order to pioneer it’s own idea of group play.
I am getting so tired of situations like : I am downed by a mob on my ele, I go to mist form, go a few feet away then I am able to cast my large dmg spell, the entire time I had a mob with about 10% life selected, as soon as I hit that spell it targets the highest life mob in the area and naturally I die.. PLEASE fix this.
I have to dissagree with the ability to wear clothes of other classes, appearance or otherwise, it’s just nice to be able to look at a person and be able to tell what class they are, and that would become even more annoying with this game’s inability to examine someone’s gear. However I fully agree with making town clothes more like an appearance set in which you can transmute your other gear to have 2 different looks, perhaps a warning system implemented so you dont go into combat wearing your statless gear though, lol. And you should be able to wear any gear in the town clothes gear slots, not just the stuff specified as town clothes.
I went to revive a friend one day, even used my good revive on my ele and I was standing beside him, had him targeted and the revive triggered on an npc instead of him. It is my belief that player characters should take priority on revives over npcs. Or at least the person(npc or not) that you have specifically targeted.
Thief stealth needs to be re-looked at…and the devs need to look at them on live fully manned servers and not on their private server that has near no load problems. Distance of people from servers matter, they should be tryign to test their builds on european servers that are max capacity (as they are testign from the states) and balance around THAT. Currently their testing server is in the same building they work in…which rather ignores a lot of issues (culling is not nearly as big a problem when it only takes .023 of a second to get a repeat of what is around you).
Thieves have far too many stealthign tools, when it should be that for eachs tealth skill you have, your burst damage (backstab, heartseeker, etc) gets reduced by a flat %. Thus having more than 2 stealths/teleports would make your burst skills hit like a wet noodle. the theif skill was originally designed so that you would only stealth to get that one hit in and the rest of the time be visible. THAT was the design philosophy. They never took into account of players heavily stacking stealth and teleport abilities to maximize their ability to ignore things. Add culling ontop of it and we end up with a class that is heavily overpowered and in need of a change. Because culling is a problem that will not go away, stealth itself must be altered to take into account that culling adds several seconds of free stealth to thieves (and mesmers but they can only stealth once on a long CD so it is hardly an issue).
If theives would actually propose changes to the class that would take away the sheer faceroll ease of it (seriously, the stealthing+culling+heartseeker spam designs out there are faceroll easy and will get you easy kills) while purposefully self-nerfing the problem areas of stealth and teleportation being far too easy to use with zero downsides…ANet would be less likely to cripple nerf you and actually try to properly balance it.
Yes, thieves are OP. Currently Mesmers still need a bit of a nerf (clones are still exploding ontop of castle walls!!)but otherwise, every other class is fine. Every other class takes large survivability hits when going glass cannon.
Again, this sounds like a cry for nerfing thieves in pvp, not pve so much but in pvp I’d have to agree a little, but I also fear that if the stealth is nerfed it may sway the class into becoming useless as that is their main mechanic really, or at the very least in ticking off a lot of people that have learned to play them that way.
Perhaps what would be more effective is to give other classes “see stealth” abilities, even pvp specific see stealth abilities, they’ve left a gap for those with some of the pve abilities that are not useable in pvp. Side note, temporary see stealth, like 1-2 seconds so the abilities are a thing of skilled use and not just toggle it on and you’re a thief killer.
Your necro will work a warrior eh? Lol, how bout a guardian that can actually defend himself? :-P
I have a warrior and a guard and I played the guard through to 80 as my main because I love the survivability of it, my warrior is squishy in comparison. As for els they are awesome, glass canon yes but if they can thrash what they aim at before getting hit, they rock. Hate it when people cry about nerfing glass canons, ya they hit hard, that’s why they’re a “canon” but they fall like a sack of bricks if they take hits, that’s why they’re “glass” there’s a balance to it and no reason to nerf. Also I find I do my best dmg with daggers, which are awesome but they force me to go close range which especially on the case of pvp causes me to die more.
What I don’t get is, the developers of these games, do they not notice first off if a class is “OP”? Seriously they put in the exact coding for the dmg amounts that the class does with every skill and the reuse on those skills and the life amounts of mobs .etc, so WHY is there a need for nerfs.
All I can see is that either the devs don’t have their heads on straight or the players just spend too much time wineing and not enough time playing. I personally find the game to be fun and the all-powerful thief class does not ruin that for me in any way.
But the one person is right, there is always some need for balance in pvp in order to keep things fair, so ya, keep pvp and pve separate.
Other guy also correct, necros do need a boost, I had one for a bit, wasnt too fun imo, they seem underpowered even at low lvl and their pets seem weak(maybe it’s just me but they do).
So… you pay basically the value of 2000$ RL cash for a different look to your weapon that does nothing for the stats.. admitedly I want it just for the character select achievement but FRIG… not worth it in the grand scheme of things. I could deck out every class in full exotic gear for cheaper.
I know I’m gonna get trolled to all hell for writing this thread but seriously, I have a job and a bit of a life and I cannot see it being possible to obtain a legendary wep before the first expansion is laid into this game, henceforth making the legendary wep worthless and replaced by the first masterwork weapon I find(likely around lvl 85ish)
My personal suggestion would be one of two things.
A: at the very least remove the need for the randomly dropping weapon that one may never get due to bad luck on RNG.
B: The weapon is insanely high priced, and even more insane are the requirements to make it. For the effort required to obtain the sword it should at very least scale in level through the next expansion as to not get obsoleted by a green weapon shortly after the bulk of the people in the game spend their life savings obtaining the weapon.
This thread is in response to a recent thread I came across about nerfing thieves. I can personally say that I am sick to death of seeing such threads even existing.
I honestly don’t think that anyone comes into a game after a big class nerf(when it’s their class) and says “oh god, it’s about time, I was doing far too good on this class, now I get to die more, phew!” at least not without it being some kind of sarcastic.
So this thread is a general suggestion to not nerf any class, if one class has something too powerful in pvp, perhaps think of a way to have other classes use an ability to counter that, it’s all about strategy really. As for pve, who in their right mind groups with an exceptional class, finishes the zone successfully then comes onto the forums and wines that the guy is too good and his class should be nerfed? Only jealous sacks would pull that crap.
As a general rule people love boosts to the things they love, and hate nerfs to the things they love.
So at the very least may I suggest that before any nerfs are implemented due to forum input, that it at least be checked that the person complaining about the class actually have that class at 80 and be using it as their main?(Really.. if they don’t then I don’t believe they have the right to complain about it).
I’ve got a better idea, instead of nerfing thieves let’s just nerf YOU, and anyone that makes one of these bogus bullcrap threads. Like not the class you play but just your characters specifically, causing you to nerdrage and quit the game so we don’t need be bothered by another “don’t nerf me nerf them!” thread.
Perhaps I’m not looking in the right area but I just see the listing cost below the projected profit, I do not see a sales fee/cost. Also I see no reason that the listing cost should not be removed when calculating the projected profit, I want to know my “projected profit” I mean isn’t that the point of projected profit, so you can see how much money you will make from selling the items after fees? If it isn’t going to calculate it fully then why bother having projected profit there at all?
Oh heck, are you saying that the projected profit shown DOESN’T include the listing fee? I was basing my decisions to sell items on the projected profit because, silly me, I thought the projected profit was the projected profit. Not the projected profit before the listing fee is taken out. This means that items that I thought were just marginal before, were probably under vender price. WHO THOUGHT OF THIS?
Well, it was actually something suggested by the community long time ago. I was actually against it, but you can’t always “win”.
Anyways, I’m against this suggestion, changing the projected profit again would just cause more needless confusion.
Not really, for those that know about the sales tax, they would understand the change, for those that don’t it would enlighten them to something that is otherwise mostly hidden.
Unfortunately, OP is entirely correct.
Feel free to enlighten us?
