None of the other ‘bubble’ skills in the game have a graphic over the effect showing exactly what is being placed. Why is one and only one skill given this graphic and none of the others? It is way to obvious what’s being done.
If it’s going to be kept, then shouldn’t the mesmer, guardian, etc bubbles have a graphic showing exactly what it is as well?
Personally, I’d just like the graphic removed.
GW1 didn’t have waypoint costs. GW2 shouldn’t either. It’s an unnecessary ‘tax’ and unwanted by most players
The rate would be set by your guild, so if your Guild only did PvE or never claimed keeps in WvW it could be set to 0% and members would never notice.
Guilds that are very active in WvW would probably want to set this higher. Claiming Keeps and buying upgrade is an expensive, but vital part of WvW. This is just a suggestion to create a system that balances the costs across all members for those guilds that would like to take advantage of it.
It’s not fun for Jade Quarry either. At least not for me. I enjoy a challenge and fighting, but this is completely boring. SBI did make a pretty decent push last night. It’s nice to know you guys are at least alive, unlike HoD.
I’m starting to seriously consider transferring of JQ because of the queues and bandwagoners
ooh! I like this idea. Give priority to the vets and discourage the bandwagoners
I think it should be changed that once you are dead, not downed, you cannot be rezzed for at least 1 minute or it should take A LOT longer to rez someone who is completely dead.
I agree with the OP, people can be revived after death faster than you can kill someone and it overly benefits the zerg.
another RvR MMO had this and it was really beneficial for claiming keeps.
Essentially your guild can set a tax rate on all monetary drops you get in the world. This tax then goes into a guild fund which is used for keep upgrades.
So, for example, if you take a supply camp and get 1s and your guild has decided to set the tax rate at 20%, you would get 80c and the guild fund gets 20c.
The tax rate can be set anywhere from 0% to 100%, it’s up the the guild leader.
you need a transmution stone, you can get these from map completions, black lion chests (I think) or buy them from the gem store
there are two types – one for <level 80 items and one for level 80 items
you double click the stone, drag and drop two pieces of the same type of armor into the windows (they cant be equiped), there are 3 ‘subwindows’ in the stone window. the top one is the name of the item (this is also the skin) so click the name/skin you want and it will go to the center of the stone windows, next one is the base stats, this time click the high level item with the stats, and the 3rd window is the upgrade (runes/gems) again pick the high level/better item
click transmute and you’ll get the new skin with all the good stats of the other item
I dont think you can buy any gear but crafted on the TP
I believe it works like in PvE, you have to do a set amount (20%) of the damage to a mob to get a chance at a loot drop. Not all bags in WvW contain badges. Sometimes I get a shredded rag, and I’m all “WTF? I stopped killing people for this?”
you can get green level 80 gear for a song and dance at the AH, if you are strapped for cash. That will make you 90% as effective as someone in all exotics.
yup! That’s all there is to it
2001- DAOC uhh.. smite clerics at launch. Remember those?
2004- World of warcraft – unkillable palladins at launch, druids. Stunlock rogues are OP, but GW2 doesnt have stunlocking
2006- Warhammer online – Warrior Priest/ Disciple of Khaine… ridiculously overpowered. Witch Elves were nerfed into uselessness.
2009- Rift: planes of telara Clerics that could outheal all damage AND kill you at the same time Actual thief classes in Rift were never all that good. Sab/Marksmen were OP at one point but the stealth classes were always crappy.
Those are all healers and they were/are all overpowered
don’t knock the shortbow
the #2 skill double tapped quickly for a melee range burst is pretty great AoE damage +bleed (just watch your health bar and dodge) for most world events shortbow is great because it hits multiple targets, which = more loot
And the poison field causes weakness combo which is great
Also, I would use the speed buff signet.. it’s just great overall being 25% faster than enemies and makes map travel bearable.
Haste doesnt really give you all that much in a d/d build. Haste is great for PvP but not really needed in PvE
If anything, mix up your weapon sets and up learn to play them all. Not only will it make PvE more fun since it changes how you play, it will give you experience for PvP when you go up against different types of thieves in PvP.
i believe you have to buy another piece of gear, let the new thief transmute it (but dont equip it!) and then your older thief can equip the hood.
If you get yourself down to 45%-60% health with more than two enemies around you and didnt run or back off, you deserve to get aced by a thief with a full initiative bar.
That’s simply a thief using heartseeker for what it was designed to do – Fast burst damage on low health targets.
As a thief, let me tell you, if you over extend from your zerg and you go down to 40% health… YES I’m going to jump on you like an 8yr old on a trampoline.
If you chase me, all by yourself, far away from your group… well, now you’re in my house and I live in a house of pain.
but.. that’s what thieves do.. we pick off over-extenders and the slow members of the herd
I agree with Tusisin. Go full spec to support the build you’re making and use utility skills and dodging for your survivabilty
I use the stealth heal, shadowstep, roll for initiative, and the speed signet for my utility skills. Most of the time I can get myself out of trouble, as long as I’m careful about watching my health bar.
Amazing how few thieves I run against have these skills. I kill those ones.
legendaries have the same stats as exotics
just search the trading post for level 80 exotic armor
superior runes and sigils are for the weapons and armor. do a search on the TP for those as well.
This site has the armors, skins, and stats
I would prefer much larger maps with more smaller objectives, for example waypoint captures
The drop rate on badges is pretty low
I have just over 8600 kills in WvW and just a bit more than 1750 tokens
So expect about 1 token for every 5 kills.
The drop rate should be much higher. Bags should give a chance at 1-4 tokens instead of 1-2 tokens. Invader Gear set shouldn’t take 10x longer to get than any of the dungeon gear sets.
The Pets… uhh I get so sick of the 8 bazillion pets all over the place that give absolutely no credit then they die. Ranger pets need a shorter max leash.
Also, those floaty Guardian greatsword pets because they cant be damaged.
I’d like to see some titles based on #of kills, etc (many more than exists for the achievements), but giving boosts to players who play all the time creates a huge have/have not atmosphere and removes the even playing field.
I have over 5000 kills on WvW and have no desire for something like that to make me “improved” over the guy who first steps into the battleground.
I dont believe time should = better gear/skills at all. You should be a better player because you practice more, not because you’re given free boosts.
Anything less than a week would be too quick.
Sup Mikey!
Definitely want some more skilled players.
btw — you made a typo – we use mumble, not vent.
vent is so 2004
