We’ll most likely get a third Beta Weekend for the last professions, so don’t rustle your jimmies too fast.
If you’re looking to be the best in dungeons and such, Necro probably won’t be your cup of tea. If you however just want to have a lot of fun, Necro is amazing.
Aww yeah this sounds like fun.
I’ll take 48 please! My toon name is Ginni Gruesome.
Agreed! Sometimes you just want to have an outfit a little less… bulky.
I want to become scared stiff of those vines. Like suddenly coming out of the ground with sinister music and my character barely escaping :o
The only question I can answer is mounts: I want them because I just love sitting on one and looking all glam. I purely want them visually, not for the speed. That said, I don’t NEED them – if GW2 never has them, I can easily live with it.
- A new race. Possibly the Margonites or the Tengu.
- A new zone. Which could include the new starting zone of the new race.
- More dungeons, including some lower than level 35.
- Customizable living story spaces! Who needs one house when you can have a whole district/laboratory/etc?
I think it could be fun if you could have a purely visual item (think the halo or the devil horns) appear on you with a buff icon that says “Married to <character name>”. No special things needed, just a token of affection.
I would love visual-based mounts, a bit like the broom on which you can ride around. You’re not faster than the buffs you receive or give yourself when walking, it’s just for fun. In WoW the mounts were very bulky but I think items like the broom are ideal.
Tybalt rises as one of Zhaitan’s generals after Zhaitan’s defeat, leading his army into destroying half of Tyria as we know it.
I would love Tengu and Dwarves. Kodan also sounds awesome and I think Skritt would be interesting. xD I’m not really much into the Largos though. Their main defining feature seems to be their ray wings and for the rest they look a lot like Humans, unless what they have under their armor is different.
So when you guys go to a RP server, you talk to each other? As in, talk to random people? I’m just trying to understand. If I want to RP do I log in and stand around waiting for someone to come by to talk to? And do we talk to NPCs too? (probably not, but I don’t want to assume)…
We talk to each other like you’d talk to your friends in real life except in the setting of Tyria. You can wait for someone to approach you or you approach them. Sometimes we have discussions or duels with each other, sometimes we go out on adventure. Roleplaying gives us layers the game can’t provide such as backstory for your character and how they feel at certain points, what they do when they come across bad/good things and so on. It’s like acting.
Wow confusing merge. Anyway, I agree with the sentiment that megaservers aren’t needed in the cities. That would solve a whole lot of problems.
I don’t understand, so do RP’ers want to be completely isolated from non RP’ers? I mean, all this does is make each map fuller with people from other home worlds who are on the same map at the time (at least that’s what I understood from the blog). Your RP pals will still be there and if they aren’t… wouldn’t the map be completely empty? Why not have it bustling with other adventurers?
From what I have seen, it’s difficult to have a lot of non-RPers and RPers together in an area because they clash. Right now we have an unofficial server so non-RPers who guest there can expect people to make long sentences while chatting, walking instead of running and basically acting as if we’re on stage. The great thing about this is that it brings about a lot of immersion, as if you’re actually in the world. If I were to RP on a different server, I’d get “lol whats ur gear” – comments that would break RP immersion. A few people aren’t so bad but a whole group is quite difficult. We don’t need a full map, we love having a small group that work together.
I welcome anyone but I’d love to keep my RP alive.

The baldness is definitely to avoid clipping. They could give your character a pixiecut by adding hair texture under hats but you won’t see your long hair under it unless you like hats being cut up by hair models.
I was so sad to not have the adorable feathered dress on my Asura. We want more dresses! We want more frills!
(edited by Yinello.7068)
She’s adorable. And those harping on her naivety must always have said wise things in their childhood, obviously.
Rox is the one person I would love to consider my friend. I liked her from the start. Others I still need warming up to. Taimi is close second though.
I am so excited it’s not funny. Not funny at all. _
I play alone in game but am always chatting with my guildies on TeamSpeak. They usually have done their dailies before I get online but I don’t mind.
You know what at least in my eyes seems absurd?
The fact that unlocked dyes can’t be used in Hair accessories :CCCC
Why is this even an issue?
This makes me sad too… ;.;
I love the new hairstyles, even changed my main character’s hair for it, but the accessories (bows, clips, flowers, bandanas, etc) are constantly an irritation for me. There’s a very limited amount of colors you can use for them and there’s a good chance it will clash with your armor because we have 400+ dyes for those. I often defer to hairstyles without accessories because it bothers me so when they clash.
Considering there’s no way to add more in the game right now, not even with the makeover kits, I would love to see ANet implement more colors. If I could only choose 2, I would add a good white and black which are nice neutral colors. But preferably a whole new array of accessory colors, not just in kits but also in creation (I’m aware that won’t happen), would really make me happy.
Maybe you can release those with a sale on hairstyle kits?
I would love to have the dreads on my lady Asura but I also like the new ones.
My Asura Necromancer! I wanted to go for something different, so I made her look like a fairy.
Rox, because it would be incredibly unexpected.
There are so many games where there are always way more men than women as main characters. I like that for once there are more women. If they add more characters, they should have a reason to be there, not just because people are not used to seeing less men running around.
I love them. Marjory, Kasmeer, Rox, Braham, Taimi, Heal-o-Tron… I want to see them all again.
I have the same problem. Didn’t change my eyes since char creation. Before they were solid white, now there’s this creepy pupil.
I agree. Either give her more HP, or invincibility moments or lots of annoying stuns/knockbacks/cc. Make her feel like a real boss and give everyone who participated a chance to tag her for loot/achievement etc. I had loads of fun with the invasion event last night, but missing out on Scarlet really bummed me. I didn’t even get to see her. :S
If with socializing you mean spamming map chat and looking on gw2lfg and hoping my guildies will change their minds, then I won’t be sorry to see that go. I’m perfectly capable of striking up a conversation with people I found with the lfg tool.
I really like the story and I love our two new NPCs. I hope to see more of them in the future.
As much as I’d love to have a more epic complex fight, with the lag that often happens with Jormag and such it’s quite hard to do anything except autoattack.
People are picky for CoF 1? That’s hilarious. Guild or pug, warrior or not, we always run through it like it’s nothing. What a terrible mentality.
I would not get rid of Trahearne. I’d simply make him less needed for the story. I’d give him better voice acting and let him fit the role of passing on lore that the player can’t know, but without him suddenly becoming the leader and taking over the fame.
What I want:
1. Tengu
2. Dwarf
3. Kodan
Alternatives I would like:
4. Largos
5. Skritt
Extra alternatives that I’d like but probably won’t happen ever:
6. Harpy
7. Centaur
But yeah, if we don’t get Tengu I’m going to raise some mighty confused eyebrows. They seem a dead ringer.

I’m curious, should I change my scepter/dagger into scepter/focus or is offhand dagger still a better choice for dungeons dps/support?
It’s not necessarily bad if a lot of characters die, but as you said if we don’t have any emotional investment in them, it doesn’t seem to matter. Also most of the deaths were so predictable. I just knew Tonn was going to die the moment he told me he was going out by himself to the bomb.
I really liked Apatia and did feel bad when I had to leave her behind only to find her as a risen – but I can’t help I knew a bit more about her. Too soon are the magical words here.
You must not have played Necro for a long time if you think that pets are the only thing it uses.
I usually don’t like fishing because most games implement a waiting time during cast rod and catch fish. I admit, I’m very impatient. :P Still I love the idea of an Oyster farm.
From what I get from your post, you want to have special underwater areas that are deep and difficult to reach and require a bit of skill such as the use of air pockets. Removing breathers would cause a kittenstorm. So why not use water pressure? Going to deep could give you problems and in real life if you surface too fast you’ll get decompression sickness. This could easily make for deep underwater strategic puzzles where players have to properly time what they do, balance between deep and shallow and only reach those special secrets if they do it right.
Best monthly ever.
Durmand Priory seem way more archeologists than scholars. They whoop out these magical ancient devices out of their behinds and somehow they work without destroying everything despite being untested.
Order of Whispers is way too obvious to be a secret order. Everyone knows of them, they wear clothing that’s rather obvious to spot, even outside their hideout and letting newbies save hostages? Kind of dangerous.
Vigil was all about attacking. Let’s attack them, let’s take them head on! Let’s storm in! Never mind that randomly charging into an enemy base that holds hostages might cause them to kill the hostages but eh, details.
With that said, I LOVE all the orders. I really wish I did more with them before the whole Pact thing took over.
I actually thought there were only 3 choices (Skritt, Hylek and Quaggan) but now I see that Human and Sylvari have the same choices. Thanks for the heads up!
I don’t hate magic find but I can’t help but feel it doesn’t always work as it should. I’m not a big fan of chance at all because it’s so dependant on how lucky you are (same reason why I dislike Mystic Forge). To give anecdotal evidence (which I’m aware is not hard evidence), I got more lodestones when farming in normal gear than in my MF gear this week. I’ve also run dungeons with people who wore MF gear and I didn’t, yet we got the same types of loot. The stat definitely a fix, be it for better or worse. Right now it’s wonky.
The moment Tonn decided to swim back to the ship I KNEW he was going to die. It annoyed me how obvious that was. I don’t get why I couldn’t have offered to go myself instead considering I was better geared and armed.
Telling Tonn’s wife/widow about his demise did make me a bit sad though. But then I got annoyed by the fact that there was no follow up quest with her – I made her upset so I wanted to talk to her more but NOPE, that’s the last you see of her. -.-
On the subject of Jormag not corrupting Norn women, I think the following:
1. A fanatical group is best driven when it has another group to hate. In this case Jormag purposely decides not to have women join the ranks of his minions so that his minions can think that being a woman or being with a woman is something wrong. Thus in this case, the Norn (and other races) are doing something wrong in their eyes and must be changed.
2. Having women not in the group is also symbolism for wanting absolute obedience and punishing mistakes. Jormag is basically saying: Jora did something wrong and thus all women are punished. Minions, do not be like Jora. Because the male Sons of Svanir have already been seduced by the power Jormag promises, naturally they’ll be afraid of that being taken away (even though they would never be released willingly – but I’m going to assume that a Son of Svanir simply doesn’t know better because Jormag is also in his mind).
3. Maybe Jormag truly believes women are weak. He could be just a sexist dragon.
My two cents.
The texture of sylvari seems more wood-like than fruit-like in a lot of cases. I’m going to go out on a limb (har har) and say that they would be mostly inedible, unless perhaps they were heavily processed, like cinnamon.
I’d rather try Tengu. Should taste like chicken, right?
They’re quite slender aren’t they? Might not get enough meat out of Tengu.
Keep in mind that there are plenty of guilds and that it can be difficult to stand out for those looking for one. Make sure to actively present your guild in the map chat, keeping it short but sweet and highlighting the benefits of joining your guild! Whenever someone joins, make sure to greet them, tell them they can ask you anything and give them enough attention to make them feel appreciated and wanted. Advice your current guildies to do the same.
Whenever you want to do PVP, a dungeon or WvW ask your guildies first! Start discussions and make jokes in guild chat. Help someone out if they ask for it and if you find a cheap dye (that you already have), ask if anyone wants it – people love free stuff. Also make sure to always greet your guildies when you come online and say bye when you leave – it makes your guild feel like a tight-knit community!
All beginning is hard but the worst you can do is quit. Good luck!
The only thing I dislike about Asura customization is the lack of hairstyles. I really hope we’ll get more in the future – I’m also hoping we’ll get some nice long hair. Almost all of them cut off right at the shoulders.
