Who is Kit the Traveler? I’ve found that Nicholas Sandford is some character from Guild Wars 1, but as for Kit the Traveler I only found some reddit posts like “Kit The Traveler News and Updates”. Is it a guild or something?

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug that affected map completion.
I was so happy when I saw this. Until I went to Southsun Cove and still got nothing. Same with Dry Top, Silverwastes, Verdant Brink, Auric Basin (the other 2 maps I don’t have yet completed). It seems this fix didn’t fix anything in fact. I’m so frustrated right now.
The instance is bugged for me too (not counting the first playthrough without achievements available). Rytlock won’t move when I am supposed to follow him, can’t interact with the page. Tried many things; listening to the whole conversation while not moving, running to the page while conversation was going, kiting Rytlock not to trigger the conversation and then running to the page, going back to the page at the end of the instance (only time Rytlock didn’t bug out on me). Restarting chapter in story journal only helped with Rytlock not being stuck any longer, though still can’t interact with a page. There is also no one to rez in the cave, only the dead bodies of some Vigil and Priory guys.
my char dont change armor skin anymore, and i cant choose the new shield skills for my mesmer.

You have outfit equipped, that’s why you “can’t” change your armor, because there is an outfit ticked to be visible instead of your armor.
You do not have a Chronomancer trait line in use, you are still a regular Mesmer, thus you “can’t” choose healing/utilities/elite skills that belong to Chronomancer, nor equip shield.
Because of that bug I’m affraid of completing the new maps not to lose potential reward. What’s more, patchnotes says that also Dry Top, Silverwastes and Southsun Cove have added map completion rewards, and yet I got none when I was there.
Prior to HoT launch I already had 100% map completion.
Driven Fortitude trait (gain health when you successfully evade an attack) is not working at all – was checking combat log and I was never healed on evade.
Imparing Daggers skill uses one initiative for each dagger thrown (3 in total). If you don’t have any initiative, you won’t be able to use this skill. If you have say 1 initiative, only 1 dagger will be thrown.
Can’t use Steal during Vault animation.

Hey, I’ve bought HoT standard edition yesterday and I was wondering when I will receive the additional character slot. I am talking about the additional slot promised by ArenaNet, not those included in different editions (and standard has none anyway). I’ve read FAQ that states “Eligible accounts that are upgraded with a pre-purchase serial code after July 10 will receive their slots on a weekly basis after that.” My question is – does the weekly basis mean I will get the slot on Monday (tomorrow) or other day in the week?

Can you make sure to include a way to disable the city speed boost, or at least turn off the visuals for it?
I really don’t want to have swiftness lines coming out of my calves all the time, to the extent that I won’t be taking this mastery line at all if they’re enforced. And that’s as someone who’s really interested in the helping-others elements, who already helps people a fair bit, and who was planning on taking this mastery line first, right up until I saw those swiftness lines.
I already use 25% speed boosts on all my characters for running around the non-city maps and having forced visuals for something that won’t even be useful for me until I take the last tier of the mastery line really irritates me.
It’s just not a look I care for in the least, especially since in the cities I want to show off what I look like, not what mastery track I’ve gone down.Also, as both a roleplayer and a jump puzzle fanatic, I’m less than fond of the speed for other reasons. Sprinting around all the time breaks my immersion a bit when wandering around the city in-character, and having it enforced removes the option to tailor your movement speed to how your character acts.
For the jumping puzzles, having a different speed level in the cities than in the other parts of the world will likely cause me to miss a bunch of jumps when doing the Lion’s Arch puzzles. I already have to pause and wait should someone puts swiftness on me to let that clear, to ensure I don’t over-jump.
This. I just logged in to write about the permanent swiftness being not so good idea, considering jumping puzzles. Sometimes you do not want the swiftness to be on.
It seems those polish letters doesn’t work on this forum either as I see question marks instead of them… To be clear, letters I’m talking about are visible on the screenshot, bottom of it where I have composing mail opened. Am I the only one seeing question marks in my first post?
Hello, I’m a polish player thus I am using polish version of Windows (Widnows 7 Professional Edition x64) and using polish letters regularly on my PC. Those letters are: “? ? ? ? ? ? ó?”
In GW2 I can’t see most of them in chat, no matter if someone else wrote them or I wrote them or I am typing them. See the attached screenshot where I whisper to myself.
First message is supposed to be: “letter ?, letter ?, letter ?, letter ?, letter ?, letter ?, letter ó, letter ?” and instead of those letters (except ó and ?) there are spaces.
Second message is supposed to be the string of those letters: “??????ó?”. As you can see instead of first 6 letters there are 6 spaces followed by visible ó and ?.
Other polish people I talked to in GW2 see all the letters normally, both typed by them and typed by me, even though I can only see ó and ? and not the rest. That problem remained even after formatting HDD and reinstalling Windows and GW2.
Worth noting is that I can see those letters in in-game mails or in bug report panel normally. They are invisible for me only in chat (visible as spaces).

When wielding a torch and having trait Radiant Fire (gain Zealot’s Flame when you critically hit an enemy) from Radiance specialization, when this trait triggers, it activates torch’s #4 skill (Zealot’s Flame), putting this skill on cooldown.It does not put the skill on cooldown. You can use Zealot Fire twice with this trait.
Just checked it. Indeed it does not put the skill on cooldown, but still this trait activates the torch skill #4, so you cannot use Zealot’s Flame when this trait activates.
Since it seems that this topic merges all bugs for thief profession, I will paste here the ones I described in a topic long lost.
Deadly Trapper trait doesn’t work correctly.
Ambush – doesn’t work at all, not giving any Might, not applying any Vulnerability.
Shadow Trap – doesn’t work as intended, not giving any Might (only base 10 stacks from the trap itself, as if not traited – with trait it should give 15 (10 for 10s, 5 for 8s)), but applying 5 stacks of Vulnerability.
Tripwire – it works correctly, giving 5 stacks of Might and applying 5 stacks of Vulnerability.
Needle Trap – it works correctly, giving 5 stacks of Might and applying 5 stacks of Vulnerability.

Additional note: Not-traited Shadow Trap has a skillfact saying it applies 8 stacks of Vulnerability for 5 seconds. It does not apply any Vulnerability. Shadow Trap traited with Deadly Trapper still has a skillfact about 8 stacks of Vulnerability for 5 seconds AND 5 stacks of Vulnerability for 8 seconds from the trait. Only the trait’s Vulnerability applies.

I was about to start a topic considering that bug. I can confirm that the trait Deadly Trapper doesn’t work correctly.

You need to compensate for 300 toughness, 300 vit or some variation of them?
How about the following choices:
Vit: Valkyrie
Toughness: Cavalier
Both: SoldierJust switch two rings and you should make up for the stats lost from trait lines.
And now don’t say something about ascended rings being hard to get. They are not.Actually, with the base stats of your character increasing you only need to compensate for 226 points. Which in the grand scheme of things doesn’t really amount to a lot. In PvP, and PvE, you will likely not notice much of a change in your performance, but you will notice the large benefit of having complete freedom to choose the traits you want, without worrying about the stats involved.
A really good move in my opinion. The next good move they can make is to change PvE and WvW gear to work exactly the same way it does in PvP (stats from the amulet and armour pieces just for defense and appearance).
You both are right, I don’t know why but I forgot about trinkets, and those are indeed very easy to get.
But, one of my points still remains kind of unsolved. Sticking to power and vitality attributes for example, let’s just assume that currently we have base of 100 points of each attribute and a full set with specific attribute gives +300. A player has 100 base power plus 300 power from set but is using full trait line that gives him +300 vitality. The patch comes live and now the base power is let’s say 200 and from set 400, but trait lines lose attributes. While the player gets a boost to vitality from base 100 to 200 (and all other attributes), the additional vitality by swapping trinkets to this type will decrease the power his build has.
I don’t know how to explain what I mean in english exactly, but my point is that base stats will increase, but they will be BASE stats, so the “whole game world” will be operating on that base (as it is operating now, on lower base stats), meaning that the loss of many points in specific attribute from gear (power from trinkets replaced by vitality in this example) will still be a big impact on a player’s previous (current) build. It will work the same way as if now that player swapped some or most of trinkets with others having different attribute, thus breaking the player’s build a bit. Am I right?
I’m mostly happy for announced trait changes, but one thing bothers me. Trait lines will no longer have attributes, and I know that the base stats of our characters will be raised from 926 to 1000, but I think that will be good and O.K. only for people whose armor/weapons attributes are the same as attributes from trait lines now.
What about those (including me) who have armor/wepaons with one set of attributes (let’s say berserker) and for traits they maxed lines with toughness or vitality or any different attributes? Those will have -300 toughness or whatever after changes (not exactly -300 considering 926>1000 overall stats boost).
I mean that I’m affraid there will be no compensation for so many points from DIFFERENT attributes than player’s armor/weapons. As an example I will focus on my thief. Link to my current build is at the end of my post. My build isn’t a standard one, but that’s how I like it. Anyway, as you can notice, most of my armor/weapons are berserker and for traits I went for full Shadow Arts line which (except needed traits) gives me +300 toughness and healing because I never wanted to go full glass cannon.
Assuming announced traits that I’m interested in won’t change, I will yet again go for Shadow Arts, Deadly Arts and Trickery, as I highly rely on stealth and stealing. But after changes, sticking to those lines won’t give me back any toughness and healing etc. except base boost (which won’t be +300) and I will automatically become a glass cannon with no additional toughness because of the removal of trait lines’ attributes.
This saddens me and so I have two questions. First, what do you guys think about such situations? I bet not everyone are running set and traits with the same attributes. And the second question – does Anet plan to give players single use possibility of changing stats of already aquired weapons and armor (equipped and laying in the inventory/bank) like it was done after removing magic find from attributes? Crafting half of ascended equipment again with different attributes not to become a glass cannon (or any other single-attributes-set) would be terrible.
Yes, you are right with those steps. Yes, you will need 3x 48 foxfire clusters. No, you don’t need to “consume” backpiece to get another – you will end up having separate ones (at least mysterious vine and cultivated vine when you craft cultivated vine since I haven’t made the ascended one yet, but I guess you will keep all 3 separately).

That fight was very well designed in my opinion and I liked that we were alone against the Shadow of the Dragon (not counting Avatar of the Pale Tree). It was much more intense than with NPCs running around doing zero damage. Even more intense for a sylvari player.
Although I think the boss should have more hp, because, as I mentioned in another thread, damage we deal to it is too big imo.
Still a great experience and I don’t mind replaying the instance either for achievements or just for fun.
I’m honestly surprised that so many people claim the fight with the Shadow of the Dragon is too difficult. I did it at my first try, getting downed only once (by mordrem wolf) on my sylvari thief. What’s more, I think that this fight is a bit too easy, only a bit but still. The amount of damage you deal to the dragon is too big imo and I’m not running full zerker build.
And to clarify, I am absolutely not a pro player, I think of myself as a casual and I didn’t manage to beat Liadri if someone was interested. Also here is my build if you wonder.
Anyway, I find this fight very well designed, I had a lot of fun doing this instance, especially because I confronted the Shadow of the Dragon almost two years ago after creating my first and main character – sylvari thief. Furthermore as a sylvari I’m all hyped for my Wyld Hunt turning out not only to be defeating Zhaitan but in fact defeating Mordremoth or even all of the Elder Dragons, which would mean it's far from over.

We have plenty of armor skins already, so why not add more back piece skins? I don’t have any problem with that (except RNG materials, cuz RNG is never on my side)
but this one grows as we continue through season 2 and 3… It’s not JUST a backpack lol
I am affraid that this “growing” will simply mean that we’ll need to craft another things.
Evon is evil. He blocked the evacuation portal in LA with his dolyaks, and after he went through it, he closed the portal from the other side, forcing poor civilians to evacuate through different ones! Also when talking in the Vigil keep, you don’t need to listen too long to know that he is selfish liar who wishes Kiel death and does everything for money, not caring about the others (lying that now because of the Lionguard people are dying in LA, while he himself closed the evacuation portal).

I’ll say what’s on my mind about zerging during current release.
The main problem (for me at least) is that saving 1200 civils (previously 1500, doesn’t matter) is not at all profitable comparing to joining a zerg. RNG gods don’t like me, and I don’t like being “sentenced” to their will.
I was doing the LA today, twice. Both times most people (i guess), including me, were focusing on rezzing civils and encouraging them etc. Both times we got over 1200 civs rescued. My reward? Both times I got 3 metal scraps or whatever, about 10 dragonite ore, 1 rare and about 3 or 4 greens, plus 25 bags in the end. Like I said, RNG gods don’t like me.
I really tried to enjoy rescuing those civilians, because that is the main goal of this release after all, but I wasn’t satisfied in the end, not a single time. We rescued 1200 civs – ok, great, but so what? I got some crappy loot and I would get much more bags and other items, even crappy ones but ton of them, if I had joined the zerg.
The thing is – there is “no reward” for rescuing civils. Not even achievements, because all of them focus on the events in LA, but not the main big event of rescuing citizens. And not even a lore wise reward such as some interesting conversations with known npcs about our successful (or not) rescue mission. Nothing…
If there are no achievements nor lore-wise reward like i mentioned or other, then I want to make a profit in gold for that event. Of course some might say that from that “superb bag” you have a chance to drop items from previous releases, wow! But that is the problem – you have a chance and that means you might as well get nothing more than crap which is more probable… I prefer to have a better chance to drop some valuable items while zerging, because as I mentioned, I will get ton of loot, and more bags. More loot = bigger chances for better drops, and even when I get just crap, it’s still more crap than for not being in a zerg and focusing on rescuing civils, so still more money.
Don’t get me wrong, I like this release. The burning LA is “beautiful”, great design in my opinion. Events also are nice, but the main one – the one that this release is about – is, in my honest opinion, not rewarding story-wise, nor achievement-wise, nor in the end gold-wise, so all in all, it is no fun.
I tried, I really did… But the dark side has more cookies, so I’m gonna stick to it. “What is thy bidding, mighty Zerg?”
I only got DC once since the new patch is live. No laggs for me. Maybe you have laggs because of overflow server? Might it be the problem?
I have different problem- broken animation of shattered wings, I wrote about it in different topic.
I will add my post to that thread since my problem is with bad animation of Shattered Dragon Wings Cover after today’s patch.

Hi, I just logged in to this forum for the first time just to say something about Jade Tickets.
I am very unlucky guy and believe me- I really am. I was opening all coffers I dropped (probably about 2,5k) and still didn’t drop a single ticket so finally, like week ago, I lost hope to get any.
I was just storing next dropped coffers in bank and got 205 of them.
Because of Dragon Bash ending I decided yesterday to open those 205 coffers. I withdrew them from bank, closed my eyes (literally) and started spamming left mouse button. When I didn’t hear the characteristic sound of coffer opening any longer, I opened my eyes. Guess what- I got one ticket! My first (and I was pretty sure- last) ticket!
I instantly ran to the vendor, using all available shadowstepping skills and swiftness, like if that ticket was about to disappear from my inventory. I finally exchanged it for short bow skin for my thief. Was so kitten happy…
Today, no longer than hour ago, I was abaout to go offline but had those 2 coffers I dropped today in the inventory. I just mindlessly opened them as I like to go offline with “clear inventory”, and guess what again- another ticket! I am not trolling! I got another ticket, my second one. I couldn’t stop laughing of joy. This one I put in bank for later choice.
So to all of you unlucky guys and girls- do not lose hope to get Jade Ticket and even if you do lose hope (like I did) just open those frikkin coffers (closing eyes may help xD).
P.S. I need to boast about something else- as I told you I always have bad luck, but I literally have no idea what is happening last 3 days, because despite of those 2 tickets I got, I also dropped Holographic Dragon Wings Cover from Ember (Fire Shaman) 2 days ago and another ones today- from lvl 8 mob in Caledon forest (was doing daily Maguuma kills)!
I am sorry for my english but I hope you understand what I wrote above. I also hope that all of you will get those long awaited tickets or wings
