How many characters do ppl have?

Wow, I thought my 15 was ridiculous Glad to see more people are like me. I like having a variety and making them look different and awesome. I also like to test different builds on different ones. Since there is nothing out there to save builds to swap whenever, I like just be able to jump on a different character.

I agree the end game feels a bit rough. The builds are all very very similar because some stats just absolutely suck, and I don’t know why they even include them. It also feels like the end game is more about fashion then anything else, which is ok in retrospect, because it encourages people to be more original. However, that’s not the same for builds with all the meta BS, I hardly see people running around WvW with different builds, most of the differences are few, but about 80% of the builds are similar. It’s kinda sad.

Hi, my guild is actually in need of one right now, we have a relatively small guild, so the 32 slots would be perfect. We currently PvP, PvE, and roam often, but we’re constantly bouncing around mumble or raidcall or skype, but there is always at least one person who has an issue with one of the clients.

We’ve bounced around other public teamspeaks, but it doesn’t always pan out. If this option is still on the table, it’d be awesome.

GW2 Character Viewer

Hey everyone,

TL/DR Scroll to bottom and view screenshot

I wanted to wait before posting this but I figured eh, why not show my work in progress. I’m not sure if something like this has been done before but whatevs here goes.

I’m building a character viewer using the GW2 API You’ll be able to add your API key to the app and it will load in a pretty way to check out your characters when you’re not logged into the game via the browser.

I only work on in during my spare time, so usually it’s like 5 minutes at a time, and it’s at the mercy of the GW2 API so not everything works, and data is constantly changing.

So what it currently does:

Once you input your API key (which is read only so no one can change any of your data) you’ll get data for the following:

Character Info

  1. Created Date (birthday)
  2. Deaths
  3. Race/Gender/Profession

Character Build

  1. Armor/Weapons
  2. Build Stats

What I hope to accomplish as it’s being completed:

  1. User accounts for easy management
  2. Upload your images for your characters
  3. See complete build stats
  4. See bag items/inventory (great overview so you don’t have to separately log on for each character)
  5. And more.

As I’ve said, I am at the mercy of the API and it doesn’t always work, but there is a ton of data available now that can help me accomplish the goals. Your character info cannot be loaded unless you input your API key so you’ll also have to set it up via your GW2 account when it does go live.

Like I’ve mentioned this is a work in progress so, right now there isn’t a preview but here are some screenshots for your viewing pleasure

P.S. If you’d like to support the project, you can do so by donating some gold. Not obligated of course.

[LOP] Last One's Picked - New PvP Guild

in Looking for...

Posted by: adRocZ.2019

adRocZ.2019

Hello everyone! A while ago, I created a guild for my friends and I called Last Ones Picked. I recently decided to open it up to those interested in a friendly PvP environment. I hope it will be great for any player, new or experienced, interested in team PvP (and non-team for those low number days).

The goal of the guild is to learn from each other, have fun playing in PvP whether we win or lose, and hopefully help each other achieve our individual PvP goals. It would even be a place to train those who aren’t experienced in PvP.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, let me know here and I will add you once I get online tonight. I get online almost every night around 9-10pm CST, but I doubt time zones will be an issue overall.

[RULES]

  1. If you rage, it’s cool, but don’t blame other teammates, instead let’s use constructive criticism and concentrate on how we can improve.
  2. 100% rep NOT required.
  3. Have fun, it’s all about having fun/learning with other members. Matches could be frustrating, but we learn by playing, with each other whether we win or lose.
  4. Mic preferred, for voice chat and team coordination.

I love working on my Mac, key word “working.” Web Development, Design, etc…

When it comes to gaming, video editing, 3D design, I built my PC. It handles more because it’s more flexible, there are more tools when it comes to gaming. Mac’s are heading in the right direction, but PC’s are the veteran. While I don’t prefer the Windows OS, I can’t enjoy gaming on anything else.

I am getting my obsidian shards to finish off a legendary, and I’ve been reading that people are recommending farming the silverwastes. I got a couple questions regarding this. First, has there been any “for science” info on obi shards from the bandit chests? Is there an agreed up drop rate, and does anybody know if the drop rate is modified by magic find?
Secondly, which do you think would be faster, farming chests for the shards directly, or events for karma and crests, and then bying the shards with those currencies?

I started farming SW two weeks ago, I’ve had two full stacks since. You get them during chest farming, I can guarantee you’ll get at least 5 in an hour, and it might be even more than that. Not kidding.

Since you’re only going to be able to get one legendary per character (with this new mastery), and the amount of work put into it might be more than earning gold towards a precursor now. I plan on eventually getting as many legendaries as I can, so I’ll either have to get it dropped or by another precursor.

As I understand it, you will be able to get one of each current precursors via quest.

Correct, but you can only choose one of those per character. So you can’t go for Quip and Incinerator on your thief. You’ll have to go for one or the other. That of course is not to stop you from going for that precursor on your other characters, but because the process is not as easy/OP as people think, the precursor prices won’t be as dramatic as some are expecting.

This is assuming there isn’t anything more recent, but I haven’t heard of anything about this since.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/

This crafting system is an account-based activity, which means you’ll only be able to craft each precursor this way once. However, all of the currently existing precursor acquisition methods will remain intact in addition to this new acquisition method. That means that if you want a particular precursor more than once, you’ll have to fall back to the original methods of acquisition.

Sure sounds like we’ll be able to make each precursor on a single character, just can’t make each one this way multiple times.

If you have a newer source, by all means, post it.

Ok, maybe I was confused then, but it also seems it would be much more difficult then I had heard to obtain more than one. I don’t think it’s at easy as people assume, and still don’t think the precursor prices will drop dramaticlly.

Also it’s getting off topic a bit haha.

My plan is slowly farm materials and do not buy precursor at all.
HoT is behind the corner (kinda) and I can wait to do precursor quest. Also I expect price of precursor to go way down.

While this is definitely something that’s going to happen, I’m not sure the precursor prices will drop significantly. Since you’re only going to be able to get one legendary per character (with this new mastery), and the amount of work put into it might be more than earning gold towards a precursor now. I plan on eventually getting as many legendaries as I can, so I’ll either have to get it dropped or by another precursor.

Also, I won’t be buying HoT immediately due to several reasons.

As for other T6 mat related stuff. I’ve been able to get at least a few of them via SW, it’s been a great return on investment, whether with gold or T6 mats. Right now I could say I am at about 70% with getting my mats, 40% overall for the legendary.

Great tips guys, last night got my Gift of Mastery after finishing my world completion. Without paying for mats, I’ll need to get about 200 gold just to get the runestones and craft to 400 for the Unicorn Statue and Gift of Wood. Decided last night to do some PVP, and I went ahead and printed out a list as well. Right now I’m wondering what’s the best way to get the mats I need without just trying to get gold to spend on them.

Assuming you have nothing else you need to spend them on then Laurels are a good way to finish of your stacks for legendaries.

Yea, I have 0 laurels, about everyday because I immediately spend them on mats.

I don’t believe there is a single T6 farm that has a higher output than simply farming the cash for it.

You can find wood farming routes online, those work pretty well. There are also maps online in which you input your /ip and they show you eg. ancient wood nodes.

Another general tip is having 3 characters at lv30, 40 and 50. If you open your masterwork bags you get in the Silverwastes on them, you get level appropriate items to salvage. Works best for cloth of course, but you get a lot of wood, leather and metal too.

Haha I have 9 level 80s. Darn haha. More great tips.

It’s the crystalline dust that ruins the deal. Well that and the gamble on your output.
The recipe evens out at 7 T6 mats gain per conversion. So if you want to do this, calculate your cost and check if it isn’t cheaper to outright sell your T5 and buy T6.

I agree, I gained but I also lost most of my dust because of the conversion. I don’t feel it’s worth, but yea. As of this morning I am at 99% map completion. So the next phase shall begin, I’m about 40% through with my t6 mats. So I’ll need to think about what to do next and I need 100 gold for Icy Runestones -_- I’m at 7g -_-

get the clovers first. by the time you have the 77 you need you will be very close to finishing your T6 mats.

other tips:
while saving up your elder wood, farm in orr and sell the foxfire clusters you get. profits go to more T6 mats.
spend laurels. if you don’t plan on using these for anything else, dump them into T6 mat bags. each laurel gives you 3 such mats. pretty good return for something you don’t have to work toward to achieve (just have to wait for the laurels to come in.)
convert mats. if you have an abundance of T5 mats these can be converted to T6 with a pretty good rate (50 T5 —> 7-14 T6) for each forging.
if you get lucky with the mystic clover forge and get a stack of charged lodes, sell them and buy T6 mats.
if you have a ton of extra gold and you dont feel like just buying mats outright, you can gamble a bit and buy Heavy Moldy Bags. you’ll get a fair amount of T6 mats and a lot of T5 mats, which can then be converted to T6 (see above)
you can also dump your karma for orrian jewelry boxes, for gold and chances at lodes. some of these will sell for enough gold to get 5-25 more T6 mats. just like laurels, don’t spend your karma unless you have nothing else to spend it on (obsidian, etc)

the precursor is the hardest part, by far, and you have that finished.
map exploration is the longest part, and you are nearly finished with that.
the rest will fall into place very soon for you.

Gold is super scarce from buying a bunch of stuff already, but these are great tips.

DR = diminished returns (mechanism Anet uses to discourage prolonged farming).

I suggest you break it out into a checklist. List all components required. Focus on one until complete, then move to the next.

Both times I made a legendary T6 mats took the longest to acquire. So I left those for last.

Focus on the easy ones, Gift of Exploration, Gift of Thorns or Gift of Wood.

Oh wow, I never knew about that. So the people farming SW all day, are they suffering that? So many people stay they and make up to 20-30g a day on it. Just curious.

Also, right now I am working on Gift of Exploration and Gift of Thorns, but spending gold to do the MF recipe to get clovers and T6 mats. My buddy actually gave me all his without even asking him, so he gave me a great head start. Last night I was 2 Deadly Blooms short of Gift of Thorns -_- And while map completing, I am like a fiend hitting up every tree I see.

I always get my 77 clovers before i look at what mats I need. As you always get loads of t6 mats. Farming the Sw even will net you a lot of mats and rares to salvage for ectos. But dont dismiss teh orr champ farm. The trash mobs often drop t6 mats . So maybe use some guild commendations get some hero banners and buy the MF boost with laurels . Some MF food and celebration booster and get cracking, Especially the grenth event. That is crazy farming.

Ps: farm a train/a map/ for only an hour and switch to another to make sure you are not punished by DR

Punished by DR?

I’ve watched videos, read the wiki, talked to some other folks, but it’s incredibly overwhelming. I think I’ve got my plan down, but I would love some advice, to help make the legendary building process as smooth as possible.

Right now I am working on making The Dreamer, I’ve got my Gift of Battle, Lover, Obi Shards, and working on Gift of Exploration (89% done).

I’ve got one stack of t6 mats, and everything else is in the 100’s except for like two of them which are much lower.

I’ve got 34 Mystic Clovers <- this seems to be the one thing that will draw this out over time.

How do you guys work towards getting those mats and clovers?

Last night I did the MF recipe and got 10 on my first try, did it twice more and got two sets of 24+ t6 mats. Is this the best route?

Right now my thought was, after map completion, grind some SW events, so I can get all those rare bags, and items, and then do some chest farming for salvaging ectos, getting t6 mats, and gold to help purchase the other stuff and work on the crafting disciplines.

Does this seem reasonable time wise? I’m probably shooting in the dark here but yea haha, this is what I’m thinking so far.

I like solo roaming, but sometimes it get’s annoying when getting chased by 15 people haha. Anyway, wanted to know if there are any Roaming groups on SoS or peeps who like to roam and do so regularly. In order to satisfy my thirst when I am alone I tend to get on Ranger or Engi and poke those 70 man zergs in EOTM and yolo. haha.

Anyway, I main Warrior now and like to get into some fun fights but tend to often get outnumbered. I figure with a good enough comp, we can fight some decent numbers together. What am I saying….I haven’t had coffee this morning….will anyone even c dis, emarghed my ingris is banishing.

My entire guild moved to another server during that free sever transfer time earlier this year, I hadn’t had the chance to move and since it’s JQ it’s now full/and too expensive to move to. So I’m stuck on CD with no guild and would love to join up with one and meet some new people.
