Returning player here. Looking to get back into WvW. Are there still WvW transfer delays? I remember a while back (a long time ago) you used to have to wait a period of time after transferring to be able to play in wvw. Is this still the case and if so how long?
Just recently bought the expansion. Upon defeating the dragon in the quest “The World Summit”, I immediately get kicked back to character select with the attached image as my error. I’ve done this twice now and I’m unable to progress further in the story episode.

How about a 1-2 week grace period before transfer prices change. Or an average per month. Thus for that month your price is based off of rank x and changes each month or less even. That way tanking is more detrimental to your server than just week by week. Tanking multiple weeks in a row can hurt a wvw community (casual players at least).
I see the side of both coins. Some people enjoy low pop servers some super high pop servers. I do think that dropping down to 12-18 servers could help this a a lot. This would leave the bottom 3-9 servers depending on 12-18 with relatively smaller pops compared to higher tier. I don’t think there really is any way to “fix” the prob of population on lower tier servers as of right now. Though merging the bottom 6-12 could fix that.
The other solution would be everyone has their current PvE server (though mega servers make that matter less) and everyone chooses their WvW server out of 12-18. Soon as you log you are promoted to change server if on one of the ones removed or something similar. I know this is not idea, and would be first come first server, but an idea none the less. I do think that guilds/communities should have priority if the same named servers were used. Else guilds would just have to communicate and and coordinate where to go.
Something else that could work to is ever x amount of time everyone has to re select their WvW server, would cause some guild issues but good change ups.
1000 gems = 100g roughly. Take some time to farm for a week. Do dungeons and World boss train. Sell the t6 and ectos. You’ll be here in no time
Other than that. Those that are here fighting still on ET after the seasons are all amazing players. I appreciate the work that everyone put in even though it was apparent from the beginning we weren’t going to do well. Props to all that continues to fight the good fight.
What type of guild are you looking for. WvW? PvE? PvX?
Sovereign Union [Svrn]
Overview
We are a WvW driven guild focused to become one of the best guilds on the server. First and foremost we are a community of people that like to have fun and mess around. With that being said, we take what we do seriously and expect our members to do the same. We are looking for dedicated people that can not only make our group stronger, but also fit in and have a good time with us.
Reqs
*TeamSpeak is mandatory for guild raids. You don’t have to have a mic, but must be able to listen.
*We require Rep during guild raids. If you run with us, you rep with us.
*We expect you to come out as much as possible. We run 7 days a week (most of the time).
*More information will be given upon contact.
Extra
We came from T4 prior to seasons. We are focused on open field combat, defending, PPT (when needed), and working on getting GvGs going. Always open to new ideas and new tactics. We start running at 5pm Pst, 8pm Est or 12am Server. Raids normally last a minimum of 3 hours, but can go much longer.

Looking for that serious player willing to put time in effort into what we are doing. Also like the above said EoH, TAC, Nob, and MoD are probably the ones I see around the most.
If you join ET there is a guild for everyone. We have relaxed and laid back ones, serious and focused. You’l find a home here.
Agreed with Wolfy. Been seeing some new faces, including our own. Its the circle of life in wvw. Eventually the older guilds burn out. Newer guilds take their place. Some of the older guilds will come back eventually, but not all.
Ticket 578590: Account/In game issue.
Sent April 29th.
Could always use some more skilled players. Svrn is in its closed recruiting stages now. We are a guild that runs 10-25 depending on the night. If your interested in joining though. Send me a message in game.
Simple question. In terms of WvW. Is it still viable for celestial armor to be used on a guardian. I’m thinking about making ascended armor and don’t know whether I should stick with soldiers/knights or go celestial.
I’ve done some math. Swapping from soldiers i would lose about 8-100 armor and 600-1k health, but gain anywhere from 156-396 stats in healing power, condition damage, ferocity and gain about 7-12% crit chance.
Thanks,

3,197 hours played over the past 605 days – that’s how much time I’ve played Guild Wars 2. So that comes out to about an average of 5 hours per day since game launch. During this time I’ve never felt it necessary to express my concerns on the forums until now.
My complaints about the implementation of the megaserver pretty much mirrors everyone else’s in this thread. I wanted to add a couple more things to this discussion:
1. Deindividuation. In a 1976 study by Univ. of Illinois professor Edward Diener, Diener studied the connection between antisocial behavior and anonymity. For his experiment Diener and his team set-up an experiment at several homes during Halloween. Each house had two bowls, one containing candy, the other containing money. The experimenter greeted each trick or treater at the doorway, then said they had to attend to something and left the children at the doorway while going to a hidden room to see if a child would steal money. In order to test the impact of anonymity, some children were asked their names and addresses, while other times the researcher did not. The results: children who arrived at the door alone and were asked their identity stole the least, 7.5% of them stole. When children arrived in a group and were not asked their identity, 57.7% of them stole. While this relates to onine behavior in general (Penny Arcade famously stated, normal person + anonymity + audience = total jerk), but the Megaserver further exacerbates anonymity because players no longer have to worry about alienating their own server community – they are now just one name in the large and flucuating pool of players on a megaserver map. This is why we’re seeing an uptick in complaints of griefing and bigotry.
2. Change and listening to your players. At the 1995 Austin Game Conference there was a panel discussion entitled “MMO Rant”. The panel was moderated by former Sony Online VP Gordon Walton, and the panelists were Jessica Mulligan (former executive producer of Asheron’s Call), Brian Green (creator of Meridian 59), and Jeff Hickman (former executive producer for Dark Age of Camelot). On the topic of change, Hickman stated “As a player, it’s effecting me in the game I play right now. As a developer, I’ve done this and made core changes and probably didn’t achieve the goals I wanted to achieve. As I make these games, we attract a certain type of player. It’s because of the things we put in – the gameplay – for whatever reason, we see another game that’s cool, doing something better, or we want to change the billing process. For whatever reason, we make a change and it alienates people. The people playing right now. We go out and want those 3.5 million (players) from the people over there. Instead of sticking to what we love, we change it.”
Mulligan continued, “Jeff touched another one, changing after Launch. I’m guilty of this too, and have nerfed and wasted millions of player hours and have learned since then and haven’t done it in a long while. How many people had it done to them in WoW? I almost feel ashamed to say this, but you can’t ignore the community. The forums are an indicator (a vocal one) of where your game is going. But we’re scared to death of players. Who can blame us? We’ve seen you at conferences. We don’t meet the majority though, anywhere, and those are the people playing and having a great time, You can’t ignore the community and you have to find ways to communicate because they can be resources.”
This last quote is something that ArenaNet should really keep in mind. Hickman: “You should really communicate with your players. Take polls. Tell them what you want to do. If they say it sucks. Don’t do it.”
Honestly thank you. Thank you for posting quotes from other developers. I know it isn’t exact for what we are experiencing, but sources and quotes are always a good way to communicate. +1 for you good sir.
Apparently they have no problem locking other threads and explaining that they want to read our feedback here, yet they can’t take 2 minutes to post a response in the “feedback” threads that they started.
What’s the point?
Yup happened to me.
I’ll start off by saying that I pretty much hate the current system. Got that out of the way.
Now the Megaservers are a great idea in concept, but could be greatly improved upon. First off to address the issue of WvW recruiting or WvW announcements: They could change PvE’s Team Chat option to be a Server wide chat for that zone. So if you in Gendarran Fields, you could talk to everyone using map chat, and talk to only your server using Team Chat.
Secondly, bring back the GW1 system of districts. They wouldn’t need to be called districts, but basically the same idea. Allow us to choose which Megaserver we are in. So that way you could call out in guild chat or team chat to hop into “Megaserver 3” for that zone and play with your server or guild.
Just my two sense. Hope some changes similar to the above mentioned get implemented soon, because I miss talking to my server in Gendarran Fields.

As stated time and time again in this post. Megaservers were a good idea in theory and theory alone. I can understand the megaserver in some of the zones. But please, please allow our towns (including vigil keep atm) to stay server based or at least have the option. I’ve loaded into the vigil zone multiple times now. Not once have I seen a guild from my server or players that I know. Even my own guildies get in different instances. Megaservers are just overflows under a new name. Except now they aren’t overflows because you are forced into them no matter the population of the zone would have been on your own server.
I transferred down to get away from the high populations. Now I’m forced into them.
I’ll do my best for ET Guilds, hopefully I don’t miss any. These are the actives that i’ve seen recently.
Eredon Terrace:
TAC, Svrn, MoD, MoS, TRU, EoH, TFoR, End.
There are some others I missed, I just can’t think of them atm.
Better yet, make the “Team Chat” viable in PvE. Team chat would be to your server only in you current zone. So say your in Gendarran (not currently affected) and there is a 150 people from server x (your server) and 100 from server y (server your currently matched against). Team chat would allow all of server x to communicate while server y can still communicate through map chat.
I originally began the game on ET and had quite a bit of fun with WvW. This may upset some people, but for those seeking another opinion, I’ll share. ET has a lot of potential and it shows, seeing as it used to be in T1. However, there is indeed a reason why it is at the bottom now. Being the small server that it currently is, what goes around comes around and most people know eachother (at least in WvW.) That being said, ET often times has immense amounts of drama being tossed around in different directions on the battlefield. [DI], a guild that kept ET in a safe place for many months, recently left due to needing a bigger challenge. While that was a big reason for them leaving, it was not the sole reason. I became close with a few top-[DI] members and I was told that some of the TeamSpeak admins were toxic players. I will not name names, but I have made an effort to listen to these admins carefully and can honestly say I agree with [DI]. Two of them in-particular are known to yell and harass other players over small things, and have a generally bi-polar attitude on the battlefield. This decreases moral on the battlefield and makes people less inclined to try for ET. Shortly after [DI] left, the server blob guild [AKD] left as well. I have not talked to [AKD] about why they left, but I get the feeling it’s more or less the same reason [DI] left. I could be wrong, but it seems like having the pressure of being the ‘only guild that keeps the server alive in WvW’ is a position that not many people want to be in because the admins often take all of their anger out on said guild. Any [DI] member who came from ET can vouch on that.
Aside from abusive admins, there is also the issue of carelessness. ET has many players that, from what I have seen, observed, and been told, do not want nor care to get better at the game. I’m all for fun in WvW, it is just a game after all, but I know of at least three guilds that do WvW just for taking a few towers and calling it a night. These guilds, which I have run alongside, have been successful tower claimers.. but have been utterly slaughtered by groups that are half their size. ET has begun to realize this though and is offering many different types of training sessions in WvW, and I applaud them for that. Communication is also something I want to shout out to ET for, their ‘commander chat’ on TeamSpeak is a great way to communicate to other people in different maps.
Finally, the issue of being too small is ever present but is being remedied here on this forum post and I’m glad to see it. Over all, ET could shine brightly, but is bogged down by drama and toxic admins. I no longer play GW2 so these admins could have had a change of heart since I left, but due to the nature of their personalities as I’ve witnessed thus far, I doubt it highly. One thing I can say though is this; if you don’t mind those problems, ET will serve you as a really fun server to play on and you will make tons of friends because most of the community is extremely friendly.
While looking for a server to transfer to, I and my fellow guildies [Svrn] heard a lot about the drama that was under the hood and that there would be problems to follow. But we still made the choice to come to ET. Since the guild and I have transferred here, there has not been a single drama problem I’ve seen. To be completely honest, I think the drama that has been started in the past might have been caused by those who have left. So far all I’ve seen is a strong core player base that works together as much as possible. Yeah there is a troll or two, but that is to be expected in WvW by now. We are happy with our choice.

WvW gear needs to be salvageable just for the fact to get your runes back without having to pay for transmutation crystals (or soon to be charges) or upgrade extractor.
Well bloodlust bonus used to be applied. They removed that when they added the Arena area for GvG and dueling to make it a even playing field.
Wait so your telling me that it feels like OSJP back in the day? Your telling me I can go there to prevent other servers from getting their achieves.
Thank you Anet, you bring me so much joy. I missed fights on the JP
Last logged date will be very helpful. The LFG tool has some nice changes. The WvW section would be nice to group up with some fellow roamers when no one is on kinda thing. I think that change is more for the smaller groups than the larger ones.
The last bit of info is basically useless to us. Yay! We know they changed something, but really have no idea what was fixed/changed.
As someone who has been weighing ET, DR, or AR, I am curious what made you choose ET. All three of these servers seem to be roughly equal and have good communities, and I’m about to just put three names in a hat and draw.
Uh between those three. It took a week or two to get a response out of AR which kinda put them on the back line for us. DR was looking good for us, except for the fact the person we talked decided they were transferring with a few other guilds. ET however went out of their way multiple times to talk to me, and the entire group of us transferring. Plus size wise it’s what we wanted. So both of that was a big plus.
TBH these guys on ET are great as most has said. Group of about 10-12 of us transferred from a higher server down to ET. So far so good. We are NA prime (mostly) and have a lot to do during those times. But really, there is something to do all the time. So if your an NA player looking into ET you can give me a shout, I’d be glad to clear some stuff up from my own experience (bout a week now) transferring to ET.
From BP, just transferred to ET. Looking nice. IMO better than BP. Quite a few of us from BP.
yeah, still waiting on the cost reduction
the big feature patch is not coming out now, this was just maintenance and some other stuff thrown in. Feature patch comes out later.
Well new update came out, reset all wvw rank points for each character, still not account bound. Looks like it wont be coming out for this season after all. Way to go.
Yeah BP is slowly dying and has been for awhile. Just an overall lack of will from the community on BP anymore it seems. But as stated above, it’s probably not an exodus, however losing any numbers on low tier servers can hurt since the numbers are thin.
No thanks. Interesting idea, but some people just don’t like eb. So if I was on a lower server, that would just suck. Secondly I like to avoid the big fights and find smaller fights which would then be impossible to do if there was only EB open to go to.
I’ll put a shout out for you guys! Talked to them recently on TS for a while. Very friendly group of people. They stopped what they were doing just to say hi to a group of my buddies that are all looking to transfer down. We are even sure where we want to go and they took time out of what they were doing to make a good impression and talk for 15-30min. Seem very organized and a great place for people looking to get out of the zergy mess of higher tiers.

A group of us will be moving down to t7 or t8. I wouldn’t say that its money based as we were willing to pay the 1800 gems before the price reductions were announce. So I’m sure there are people that will be moving down with the same view that we have. We dislike zergs (yes we know the still exist in lower servers). With that into consideration we just feel like a smaller server is best for us and how we like to play. Like someone said earlier, if a guild really wants to transfer based off of their playstyle, they will find a way to get the money for everyone to transfer no matter the cost (within reason).
I appreciate all the information you guys have been putting out there. Everything has helped. I guess one big thing is we want to get out of silver tier it seems. So CD is out. As far as roaming on BP, there is very little to do as a roamer, we either take camps (we are totally ok with this) or we get steam rolled by 15-25+ when trying to take a tower (most of the time). So we are looking to move down.
Aside from numbers, we are just looking for a good community as well. BP seems to have lost its community and isn’t nearly as friendly as it used to be.
Hey everyone, got a group of about 8 players looking to transfer down tiers. We are currently looking for a roaming/havoc oriented server. The less zergs the better in our opinion. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Ace

I’d also like the ability to actually message people in from WvW to get people to come. Hard to let people know about something when you can’t message your guild members when they are not reping to come help out..
Sovereign Union is recruiting!
Who are we? We are a guild that has been around for a while on Borlis Pass and a few other games. We are looking for active WvW players and a bit of everything else. We like to have fun no matter what we do.
We started off as a group of friends looking for some fun, now we want to expand that to everyone else. We are very laid back and like to have fun. We can be serious when the time comes though. We accept any member (within reason) of all skill levels (new or experienced players). We don’t require full rep, just that you rep when running with us.
Most of us that are active in the guild know eachother pretty well by now. We place high values on the community aspect of the guild and hope that others looking for similar values will join us.
Things have been a bit slow in BP lately and we want to change that. We hope to get a group together that wants to WvW even on bad weeks. We love to roam and hope to get some similar players to join us.
On the flip side, we do PvE as well. We have lots of experience in dungeons, fractals, and leveling. We don’t mind teaching new people how to run dungeons or fractals.
We use the Borlis Pass Team Speak server and have our own channel. If you would like to talk and find out more about us, you are more than welcome to stop by, just send me a message in game if your hopping on TS.
We have a new website up and running so check us out. Most of the pages are for registered users, but you can see the general layout without signing up. Sovereign Union
So if your interested reply here or message me in game and I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
Hope to see some of you soon,
-Asp
I play on BP also.
I can’t tell if its dieing or not, but personally i’m still having a lot of fun running with guildies or other crews getting into fights and collecting loot bags. Yes, our constant matchup with Dragonbrand means we get PVD’d out the proverbial, but it doesn’t really matter. There’s always someone to fight and usually good open field battles to be had at times other than peak Oceanic.
I just look forward to the day we have an Oceanic crew big enough to start rolling these PVD’ers.
Yeah at night (6pm server) its not bad, but anytime before that there is no one there. Just disappointing that we (BP) are taking it. We have fought DB on multiple occasions and won. Now we can barely beat HoD.
BP seems to be dying all of a sudden as well. 2 weeks ago we had alright numbers. Now can’t even seem to compete with HoD
Honestly I miss the days in which you fought for control of the EB JP
Hello everyone
Recently our player count has diminished as our server has slowly started to disappear after the holidays. A small group, and possibly more of us are looking for a new server for WvW to join. We are a NA based guild currently.
What we are looking for:
- Med-High Population: Enough for zergs, but room for roaming as well.
- Less “political” drama in WvW.
- Overall friendly server.
- Room for growth.
- Overall good server communication.
Regards,
-Asp
Just throwing this out there. I want Cantha! lol, though I do look forward to some more of Tyria. Hopefully we get something like the old UW and FoW back.
Ah ok, tyvm.
Really hope its more useful than just that. As I do not charge crystals. Seems to be pretty useless for players like me atm then.
From what I gathered this could be used as a once a day skill point. I have both the candy corn and this obelisk. The candy corn can be mined once a day, but the skill point cannot. Can someone please clarify what the obelisk is for other than a once in a lifetime skill point?
1: Better rewards in WvW with more incentive/better ways to get them.
2: Commander system update. More tools.
3: Server imbalance.
Would like to see exploit as a report option as well. +1
