Why just not buff engineers to 1 shot anything on a sight?
Rip any form of balance.
Oh no! Most engineers will be running +33% movement speed instead of +25% movement speed, kind of like they all do today! Balance is ruined!!!!111!!!
Just because it’s in the game currently, does not make it balanced. Good try though.
Grind for leveling and the feel that you are insignificant to the party because you don’t have tehMaX0rz equipment is what they were getting at.
These words are so constantly twisted.
Thrown against a boss where you don’t know what to do? Oh man… I can’t think of any other real game that does this to you. Oh wait, all of them.
When do games explicitly tell you what to do in a boss fight? Are we really in that generation where hand-holding in games is a must?
It’s good that it’s back. My only complaint is that if you want gold, why would you put an arbitrary amount of gold in to get a number of gems that you most likely don’t have? As it stands now, if you want to exchange your gems not based on the tiered exchange list, you have to keep putting in values of gold until the number of gems you have matches what is needed.
I feel like it would be much easier to understand if you put in the number of gems you want to exchange and see how much gold you would get out of it.
It works the other way around where you want to put in the number of gems you want and see how much gold it costs. It’s hard for me to explain; maybe someone else understands what I’m getting at?
EDIT I now read and see others explaining the same issue.

Is it just me or have these skills from Warriors been incredibly unreliable the past month or so? I thought it was just lag on my part, but many of my guildmates are experiencing the same issue.
For instance, when activating Rush near someone there’s some strange delay to the skill – it spends 1-1.5 seconds of you just running in place next to your target before you actually hit them. While I am aware that this has actually happened in the past before, it seems to be much more frequent.
In the case of Bull’s Charge, either the target can now sidestep the skill or the skill is bugged in which you either land behind the target (going through without hitting) or to the side – both without actually hitting the target even though they clearly should have been hit.
Sorry if this has been brought up before, but it’s pretty painfully hard to catch some people in PvP/WvW nowadays :\

To answer your question…
You can link the account and still continue to work on your HoM in GW1. The additions will be translated automatically to your GW2 account upon login.
To unlock an armor statue within the GW1 HoM, you must buy/‘craft’ a full set of prestige armor (all 5 pieces).
To the rest of what was said in this thread: Wat? Were some posts deleted or am I reading this thread in the right order. Or did I just get trolled. u___u
Did they get rid of the Jotun trading heart in Wayfarer Foothills? That would be awesome :P
it’s for supporting your allies…
So if i blast my arrow into a firefield my teammates gets might if they are standing into melee range of my blasted arrow?
Simple answer: yes.
Complex answer: yes.
ANet needs to highlight to players that you can turn the “Content Guide” (compass mode) OFF in the settings.
So they removed hard-hitting, condition-applying enemies in low level zones… while also removing the ability to dodge and heal early on. Take more things away and dumb the game down more, please!
Over the past weeks, I’ve welcomed the changes (I’m not going to say balanced) to skills and traits to shift/push the meta a bit.
However, it was stated that this week will contain some stuff for veteran players, but besides adding a miniature and a new finisher tab to the hero panel, the rest of the week looks like “new ways to collect and trade things.”
Is this really all you have to offer veteran players? Is that really what’s going to keep us coming back: collecting and trading?
Hell, I am content with what’s available as I still have fun messing around with random trait spreads (invisible power) in WvW/sPvP. Even then, the game is becoming more and more stale since the horizontal progression is so incredibly slow (we’ve gotten 2 healing skills and a handful of traits that are a bit lackluster in 2 years, yay) with no new weapons for each class/no new utility skills.
Even a decent birthday present would have been nice.
As serious of this problem is, I don’t think posting a picture of the loading screen is going to help anything :P
You were able to interact with that hologram during the first chapter.
EDIT I just realized the original post date. Disregard xD

There’s a hint in your own picture. Lol
Press ‘H’ to open the Hero’s window. While under the ‘Equipment’ tab, click the ‘Equipment’ sub-tab. There all of your stats will be found
Well.. that is true. Lol
But how do you stabilize other player’s explosive barrels? :P Hehe
I enjoy the fight and all, including the surrounding content, but…
How come you can’t overcome the knockback from his barrels with stability? Why contradict your own game’s mechanics?
i wonder why you even want this, everything you can get with such a pass can be accessed in every single major city and some even has everything in one spot.
If you read…. it’s not a question of wanting the item. She/he is receiving them from the Black Lion chests.
To the OP: I agree with you. I have a bunch built up as well from opening chests, and they are taking a lot of space
Don’t know what you guys are complaining about. The transmutation system didn’t change. They didn’t suddenly want to make it a charity. They streamlined it.
And you can still equip multiple sets of armor. Those claiming you require charges to do so need to look closely at what they are doing because you certainly do not need charges to equip a different set of armor.
And as another note, charges are even cheaper than the previous said crystals – assuming all you cared about was your level 80 appearance. That said, I am sad that constantly changing the appearance of your gear when you’re leveling up is not possible anymore, but then again, you am constantly changing gear anyways and it’s almost not worth it to keep that same appearance up all the time even with the old stone/crystal system.

Kind of a nuisance to have to do one boss at a specific time. Why not just allow multiple bosses to spawn during a single time slot and spread the time slots out a bit such as every 30-45 minutes or so. I also don’t think the timing restrictions of the mega bosses is very fair to the people that like to attempt it more than once. You shouldn’t assume that everyone Teq/Wurm spawn is a guaranteed kill.
Your armor is not unbreakable… so no they won’t be useless.
This one was extremely underwhelming..
Ahhhh!! So good!!

You are both correct. I went to check it out again myself. <3 My apologies
Even the broken statue of Dwayna in Lornar’s pass is where a statue of dwayna was in GW1.
I think you mean Grenth statue
You’re missing “Bubbles” the deep sea dragon whose activity, as far as we know, is making the waters unstable – hence blocking passage to Cantha.
Also the “jungle dragon” has a candidate name, sort of: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jungle_dragon
That should complete your list.
As far as the living story goes, I am pretty curious what will be discovered in two weeks. :S
if you have ever played the LS shes digging for magic lay lines deep underneath LA hence the bigdrill
If you have ever played the living story, the probes were ley line detectors. The ley lines are magical currents connecting dense areas of magic. Many ley lines appear to converge in Lion’s Arch.
I’m pretty sure she’s digging for an actual thing, not a current.
The main problem is the core game mechanic where “everyone can do everything.” Because there is no “trinity”, all you’re left with is damage dealer that can also do “x” ability. Since everyone can deal damage.. all there is left is just mobbing up which, I agree, can get stale over time.
Fortunately, zerging is not the best way to complete this map
Scarlet didn’t have new mechanics per se.. but it was fairly interesting. Although, I found it incredibly easy to solo which kind of bored me. Liadri was a lot more fun in my opinion.
How have you completed 10 invasions when there’s only been 3 so far? (Fireheart, Blazeridge, and now Frostgorge) ?
Don’t know if anyone has noticed this… but both Jennah and Scarlet lack lip syncing with their dialogue. Makes the whole “speech” (which was less than a minute……….) a complete joke.
Just finished a bit ago on my Warrior.
Full zerk gear with strength runes with Axe/warhorn and rifle. For food I just used meat and winter veggie stew although you can invest in orrian truffle and meat stew if you so desire.
Trait spread was:
0 Strength
20 Arms:
Furious Speed (II) - swiftness on crit; definitely needed in my opinion to keep moving when you can’t remove cripple
Crack Shot (VII) - piercing rifle shots so you don’t have to worry about positioning shots around her visions which wastes time!! plus reduced recharge of your own cripple to keep her off ya
15 Defense:
Dogged March (II) - critical for reducing cripple duration
20 Tactics:
Leg Specialist (I) - combined with reduced recharge of aimed shot (cripple) you can immobilize her a lot
Shrug it Off (VII) - opens up free utility spot and removes cripple automatically, what’s not to like? lol
15 Discipline:
Vigorous Focus (V) - it was either this or warrior’s sprint, but I didn’t need anymore movement speed buffs because of warhorn spam
The 3 minor traits that are important in this spread, however, are:
Adrenal Health - regen based on adrenaline
Versatile Rage - 5 adrenaline on weapon swap
Fast Hands - -5 second recharge time for weapon swap
My slot skills were:
Healing Signet - extra regeneration
Endure Pain - invulnerability
Balanced Stance - extra swiftness if you need it, also popping a stance grants vigor with this build
Signet of Stamina - endurance recharge and cure all conditions
Signet of Rage - fury, might, and swiftness
I just used memory to master Phase 1, but also killed the 2nd rift before I threw the 3rd orb even if it wasted a bit of time – it will bite you in the kitten later.
In Phase 2, I just utilized the rifle and the traits/skills stated above to whittle her down while avoiding the half-dome AoE. Make sure to stay close to the center of the arena (not in the center though) as that is the smallest radius to keep out of her AoE. Moving counter-clockwise really helped with my finger flexibility in pressing skills.
You could also choose sword/shield for leap and blocks if you think you have enough movement speed.
Couple Tips
1) Save Rifle Butt for knocking her back. It is much easier and less stressful to swap to your melee set for rifts. It is so easy to miss Rifle Butt it isn’t even funny. Plus a swap to warhorn will allow you to grant vigor and swiftness to yourself; and there is no punishment due to the -5 seconds of swap time.
2) Do NOT, for the love of all that is holy, double dodge. You waste a lot of endurance if you double dodge out of panic. If you have to, then you have to. But it is much easier to learn how to time your dodges to evade the AoE even if you are right under it
The axe was pretty useless the entire fight. BUT when I knew I could finish her, I used Axe’s burst skill for a glamorous finish.
Don’t mind the armor, I liked the Dredge chest, shoulders, arms so I transmuted it for zerk stats.
It takes 6g and 4 days to make the first 50-slot guild bank. Go do that if you’re scared of yourself.
No bug… it’s been mentioned that you get only 1 chest per day until you’re up to the final chest you’ve earned…
Except for the fact that I didn’t get one that was just “bumped one” place over… lol
And then the other fact that other people received the wrong skin on the FIRST chest.
Picked the longbow skin and got the sword…
Thanks, Gaile, for responding promptly.

Only reason I am including this is because I wish to get back into the action ASAP.. especially for the Halloween event! (:
And if there is anything I can do to expedite the process, I will provide to the best of my abilities.
Hey,
I was on this morning and was suddenly disconnected from the game. Ever since then, I’ve been unable to log back into the game.. It’s not client-side (since.. you know, I’m posting this using the same ISP as I logged into the game earlier with)… so what’s up?
By “unable to log back into the game” I mean: I click log in, but the loading symbol just keeps painting a continuous circle like it is not connecting at all..
Was just wondering if others are having this problem.
EDIT Waiting a bit it did give me “Unable to authenticate your playing privileges” or something like that… followed by “Connection Failed”
I’m a bit concerned unless this is just because the servers are packed from a bunch of people logging in for the Halloween event?
I have upgraded my system since I played GW1 and can’t find my discs to reinstall it so I can try the GW1 login trick. Any suggestions?
You don’t need your discs to re-install GW…. just go to their website, go to support, then go to download the client.
