Hi! NA or EU server? And when this happens, is it during world bosses/meta-events, when there’s a lot of people in the map? Also did you manage to try and trace the ip using programs like PingPlotter or WinMTR? If nothing else, these might let you know where the problem are.

Hi! If you’re from Australia, you might want to check in with your isp about the SEA-ME-WE3 sea cable damage. Might be the cause of your high latency.

The 10.83.74.x ip’s are the ones I’ve been talking about lately. For some reason whenever I get those ip’s I get my normal avg ping which is supposed to be around 230-260ms [however whenever i am on the normal 206.127.159.x/206.127.146.x ip’s there is terrible lag and I am getting well over 300ms+ pings with bad lag spikes (up to 4k). I think the amazonaws servers don’t have the usual terrible routing that gives us the bad latencies at the handoff [from telia/level3] but this is just a seperate lag matter from skill lag itself which is also server side. I am surprised that this ip is giving you the opposite effect however. How are your pings with when connected to maps with 206.127.159.x/206.127.146.x ip addresses? Btw I’m on rof so if you wanna chat about it we can talk on server too since we’re paired just add me I’ll probably know who you are if you message.

Hi! When I get those 206.xx.xx.xx ip addresses on maps, it’s stable for me. It’s just those that starts with 10.xx.xx.xx that are a big issue. Fractals isn’t playable right now since some instances put me on those problematic ip addresses. I don’t even know what’s causing this. Talked to the support team the whole day today and, while super accommodating, they don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know if the problem is on my end or theirs. I can use discord, surf the web without any problem, just in GW2 I’m having issue with.

Dunno. Says it’s a private LAN address. Using a VPN? Whatever it is, it seems to be at the backbone hand-off, and long before it goes to any ArenaNet/NCSoft servers.

I’m not using vpn, though. It specific ip addresses though. Any map ip that starts with 10.xx.xx.xx, I noticed that I get those high latency. Called the isp already and they say everything is fine on their end. This wasn’t like this last month.

Hi! I’m living in South East Asia and my characters are in Gunnar’s Hold server (EU). 300-350 ping is the average ping I’m getting on a normal day. This is playable and I’m able to do end-game content just fine with this latency. However, for a week now, I have been getting super high latency in some maps. Like for example in a fractal, there will be some fractal instances that is fine and some that are literally unplayable. We’re talking about 1k lag spikes that never goes away. This applies in the open-world maps too. I have made screenshots and I’m hoping someone could help me, or at least explain to me what my problem is.

The first one is in Wayfarer Foothills, since I have been getting consistently high latency whenever I waypoint there. I took a screenshot of the ip there and did a trace using Ping Plotter. I’m not network-savvy so forgive me if I seem ignorant regarding this issue

With the recent changes to food buff, what would happen to my zerk mesmer? Should I change stats? Sorry, not as well-versed in the game as you guys are.

Yes your bank does not get affected. Ascended gear is account bound and can be stored in the bank and used by your future characters.

You would lose your crafts though. You also lose any bag slots you bought. (You can keep the bags) if they’re in the bank.

Honestly, though, 1600 gems isn’t very hard to grind though. If you were able to farm ascended gear, I think it’d be more effective to just gather up gold and convert to gems.

Hello! I’m planning to return to Guild Wars 2 very soon since I have friends who are only playing just now. However they made their characters in one of the EU servers, and all of my characters and progress are in NA. They are asking me to change to their server.

I got no gems for the server transfer service so that’s out of the question. But I’m willing to delete my characters and start on their server with a new character. If I do it this way and put all of my gears in the bank (could you even put ascended gear in the bank? I forgot.) will I be able to access them when I do change? It’s says in the official FAQ that if I delete my characters, my “gold, bank, achievements points, and titles will not be affected”, so that is a yes? Right?

It’s been 3 years since I last played and I forgot a lot of things. I just don’t want to lose my ascended gears. Thanks in advance!

I know how you feel because I main an engineer and a mesmer (and loving it). They’re not top-tier for dungeon and some lfg post really are discriminatory, like “NO ENGI/MESMER/NECRO”. But to be honest, I haven’t been discriminated that heavily yet (except that one time, long story). This might be because I post my own advertisements in lfg with something like an “all welcome” sign or “non-meta builds welcome” (sometimes “Hardcore run. NO WARS/GUARDS/ELE” if I see discriminatory lfg posts to my class. And people actually join! XD)

As far as the case of anyone not joining my lfg because of my class, I think it accounts more to the popularity of the dungeon I’m running, not my profession. I find it hard to find members in HoW and CoE because I think not many people run it.

I wasnt complaining about damage as I solo’d 3 mobs whilst “the other 4 were slaughtered by 1 mob” I was complaining about the synergy :P especially when I am consistently last one alive who has to suicide so others can respawn.

what I normally do to “fight” against ppl that don’t read is that I write a lot of giberish at the start so in the LFG you can only see something like this: OMGWTFTROLLLEETIDGASWIASI. After that I write the real message. Normally ppl will read what’s inside and if they don’t I do another thing too, I write ""something"@join" so if they don’t say that “something” its a kick in 10 sec for not reading.

Seriously though, don’t enter my party that specifically reads “Casual run, no skipping, all builds welcome” and expects everyone to just kill things faster, and berating every single party member that their build is not meta when not doing fast damage. I am not a speedrunner, and I make parties for people like me. And you expect not to get kicked?

Sorry for ranting… But seriously, some people just don’t read… I fully understand how speedrunners feel when someone joins their party with no zerk gear. Casual players and speedrunners need not play together. We have an LFG for that.

So I was ran with this thief guy in a story mode PUG and he asked me if how much damage do I do with my grenades. I said about 300 at least when using the normal grenade without the crits and the poison and bleed ticks (running zerk minus the trinkets and runes). He sounded like the elitist type (he was berating a ranger of our team for using a suck-y build). He said I wasn’t doing enough damage and engineers are the worst.

In the end, I paid no attention to his elitism and he was kicked (not by me, apparently he annoyed the guardian in our PUG group). But I’m lying if I say that I’m not doubting my damage.

So how much damage do you do with your grenades (using a grenade build of course)? I need some reference. Thank you all

I’m just interested in PvE. I have no plans on dabbling in PvP or WvW anytime soon. And yeah, I pretty much anticipated to be excluded from PUG speedrunners. But I have a great guild for dungeons anyway.

Hi guys! New player here!

I am finishing up with my Engi (which is a lot of fun btw) and I’ve decided to make a new alt. Mesmer is my choice, but I keep hearing that this class isn’t viable anymore. Is this true? Am I making the right decision? Should I cave in and follow my friends’ advice to “go guardian”?

P.S. I’ve seen some videos and I really like the Mesmer’s playstale.
